We got up a little before 9, did the pet stuff and had breakfast. Then it was preparation time. I got out the firearms and put them in their cases. That took quite awhile. Then I started moving some miscellaneous stuff to the trailer and putting it and the stuff from yesterday away. Finally I aired up both the truck and trailer tires. I also loaded up a cart full of gravel so I can fill in the places where the trailer tires are when we move it. All of that took until noon.
We had lunch and did some surfing. Then we went out for the last round of errands. We went to Walgreen's to get a receipt so Ellen could get reimbursed. Then it was a gas station and the post office. They were supposed to be forwarding the mail by now, but they weren't. Hopefully we got that fixed. The final stop was HEB for the traveling food.
When we got home we moved a lot more stuff into the trailer. It now has everything except the toilet items and a few food items. Then we surfed until dinner time.
Lee called to ask if Isaac wanted the feed delivery job. I hadn't heard anything and called Isaac. His voicemail isn't set up so I couldn't leave a message. He called back a little later and said he didn't want the job "because his girfriend's visa is held up". I think he just doesn't want to work. I passed that on to Lee. I'm beginning to think the kid is a loser.
Isaac came home just in time for dinner. We fed him left over shredded beef. It's all that we have. We had fish burgers (he's allergic).
After dinner we talked for awhile and he went back to the apartment about 8:30.
The rest of the evening was surfing and TV.

Day 907
We got up at 8 today, did the pet stuff and had breakfast. Then we did a little surfing. After that I collected some stuff for the trailer and took it out. Isaac came over With his Legos. We spent quite awhile helping him sort them. All of the "complete" sets had some missing parts, but not many. After that he said he was going to go out to some garage sales. We told him to have fun.
I put the Sta-Bil in the car and then we drove it to the post office. The box was empty, so the forwarding has probably started. Then we went to the pet store to give the dog a bath. On the way we stopped at a garage sale. Nothing for the kid, but we got a couple of things. The pet store's dog wash was being rebuilt, so we went to the other one in Sunset Valley. Lucy got a bath and a duck foot. On the way home we stopped at an auto store for a car wash sponge and some wax applicators.
After lunch we washed and waxed the car. It wasn't nearly as hard as the truck. The day was cooler and the car is about half the size of the truck. When it was clean I put it in the garage and hooked up the battery maintainer. It won't be run again until November.
While we were washing the car the hose decided to self destruct. So I threw it away. I had a coupon for ACE, so we took the truck over there and got a brand new "professional" hose with a lifetime guarantee.
When we got home we surfed until dinner. Isaac came back. He didn't find anything - I didn't think he would. Apparently he did manage to sell some stuff we got earlier for a profit.
I fixed Isaac shredded beef for dinner. Ellen's asshole was acting up, so she didn't eat. She did fix me a mango mojito though. It was really good.
While Isaac and I were watching MMA after dinner Lee texted me the name and phone number of the lady with the part time feed delivery job. I gave them to Isaac and told him to call tomorrow morning. He's not very excited about it. I don't think he wants any sort of job, even a part time one.
Isaac went back to the apartment about 9 to do some more internet sales. I watched TV and surfed. Ellen watched chick flicks on her computer.

Day 906
We got up at 7 today. We really didn't need to get up until 7:30, but we couldn't get back to sleep. We did the pet stuff and had breakfast. Isaac came over about 7:45. We got into the car and went to Meridian.
There were a quite a few people with sales. Some had interesting items and others weren't worth stopping at. Isaac did score some video games and Legos for good prices. We bought a couple of gifts for Martha and the kids. We spent about two hours there. Then we went home so Isaac could get a package ready for mailing.
I didn't want to go to the Austin post office because it was in the wrong direction. So we went to the Dripping Springs one instead. It is closed on Saturday. So we went to the UPS store in Dripping Springs. It wanted $18 to ship a small package containing an ink cartridge. Screw them.
From there we went to the founder's day. We spent the next two hours or so walking around. We ate BBQ for lunch and donated to a couple of charities. It was a lot of fun for us, but Isaac was bored stiff.
We had parked at the park behind HEB. We started walking back. As we got to the store Lee texted to say he'd finally got there. So Isaac and I walked back, Ellen continued to the park with the dog.
I found Lee when we got back. He introduced me to a couple of his friends and I introduced him to Isaac. We talked for awhile and he offered us beer and some really good BBQ. We accepted and talked for quite awhile. He also gave Isaac a lead to a part time job delivering for a feed store. Unfortunately a band started up nearby. That put an end to conversation.
We said our goodbyes and walked back to the park. I really didn't want to go home, so we stopped at Austin Java and sat outside with the dog. We had some chips and beer.
When we got home Isaac went to the apartment to list items. I took a nap. Later on Isaac came back and we watched a couple of MMA matches together. Then Isaac went back to listing items.
I watched TV and read for the rest of the evening.

Day 905
We got up at 8 again today. We did the pet stuff and had breakfast. Then we surfed until it was time to go to an estate sale. It was a real success. First, the sale wasn't all that far away and there wasn't any traffic going to it. Second the prices were good. Third, we got some nice stuff for Patty and myself. Patty got both bunny and lighthouse stuff. I got some hooks for the bicycles and a drill bit holder. All of it together cost $8.
After that we went to the post office. Only one proxy. l also mailed the property tax exemption application. It had to be mailed by Monday. Our taxes were $7,000 this year. Hopefully this will keep them from going higher.
The next stop was the Home Store for a plastic container. They didn't have the right kind. Target down the street did. They also had Mango Coke on sale. HEB doesn't have it anymore, so I bought them out.
By then it was lunch time. We stopped at the Kerbey Cafe. It's the first time we've been there. It was good, and the dog can eat with us.
Then we went home and surfed until Isaac showed up about 5. He got a first class look at Friday afternoon traffic in Austin. He rested a little and took a shower and then we took him to the Italian place for dinner. Afterwards we took him around Sunset Valley. Apparently he wants to deliver food there.
When we got home we made sure the internet worked and then parted company for the evening. He wants to go to the Meridian neighborhood garage sale tomorrow at 8.
We spent the rest of the evening watching TV.

Day 904
We got up at 8 this morning. After pet stuff and breakfast it was a little surfing. I didn't do much though. I wanted to get outside and load the truck before it got hot.
I started by re-lubricating the trailer hitch. It needed it. The old grease was pretty hard. Then I put the two plastic ases in the dront of the bed. Next was the gun cart. It's a lot easier to deal with now that I put a removable crossbar on it. Th elast items were the fuel can and the drinks - two cases of water and 20 cans of pop. It's ready to go now.
While I was doing that Ellen was hassling with the insurance company. Apparently they've decided that is covered. That was good, because Ellen had a doctor's appointment at 10:30. I got done with the turck just about time to leave. We left the dog at home because it was getting hot.
The doctor gave Ellen a clean bill of health. Apparently she'll have one more scan in November. If that's cleared she'll be declared cured.
After the doctor we stopped at the post office. There wasn't any mail. Apparently Ellen started the forwarding early. WE ate lunch at the Asian place at the Y. It was really good.
We stopped at HEB on the way home and bought a bunch of stuff for the trip. We'll do one more buy before we leave.
When we got home it was hot, so I stayed inside. Dinner was pizza.
After dinner I took some more stuff out to the trailer. Almost all of the loading except for the refrigerator and personal items is done. The rest of the evening was TV.

Day 903
I got up about 8, did pet stuff and had breakfast. After a little surfing it was time to finish the house cleaning. Ellen did the bathrooms while I vacuumed the floors and the woodwork.
Ellen found out yesterday that Intel has marked her health insurance cancelled, even though they are sending her premium bills which she has been paying. Apparently the Medicare company that I went with told Intel that she's being covered by them (of course she isn't). After two phone calls they say it is under investigation and they'll let her know in a couple of days. In the meantime she has a doctor's appointment tomorrow.
I talked with two car salesmen. I told the Hyundai guy we weren't interested. I told the Mazda guy in McMinnville I wanted to buy a car in three weeks. He said call him a week before. Either there will be a car "in the warehouse", or I'll have to wait 3 months for one to be built. Crap.
We went to Dripping Springs to vote against the school levy. Then we drove back to the post office - only one proxy. Then we went to Crema for lunch. There's a field next door for Lucy to run in. She did a lot of really long retrieves. The last stop was Wells Fargo to get traveling money.
We went back home and were surfing when the house alarm went off. I called ADT. They said it was a low battery. That's when I found out there were two batteries. The second is in another box. We got back in the car at 5 and drove to the battery store. That seemed to fix the problem.
It started to rain about 3:30 and was raining while we were going to the battery store. In spite of this the trip was as easy as it could have been. We used back roads to avoid all most all of the traffic.
When we got home we had dinner (pizza and salad). After dinner it was surfing for me and chick flicks for Ellen.

Day 902
I woke up a little after 7. It was too early to get up, so I went back to sleep and woke up at 8:30. Then we both got up, did the pet stuff, and had breakfast. After breakfast it was surfing until after 10.
That was enough time wasting. We started cleaning the house. Ellen cleaned the kitchen. I dusted the whole house. We didn't finish until almost 1. That leaves the bathrooms and the vacuuming until tomorrow.
While I was cleaning the kitchen table it occurred to me that there was plenty of room for the other table leaf. We've never used it. We got it out and put it in the table. The table fits in the kitchen area just fine, and the extra room is really nice. The new leaf is a substantially different color because the rest of the table has gotten dirty over the years.
After lunch the Mazda guy called. He had a car for us to drive. We went over there to drive it. We stopped to get Ellen's drugs on the way. That's when we found out that there is something really wrong with her health insurance. It appears that she's still cancelled. She'll have to call tomorrow.
The test drive proved to me that I wanted another Mazda. I've got to figure out whether or not to deal with two dealers.
We stopped at the post office on the way home. There were 39 proxies in the mailbox. This is getting ridiculous. We got hom ejust in time for Ellen to go to the club.
I had noodles and salad for dinner, and then spent a lot of time on the proxies.
The evening was Ellen watching fantasy shows and me surfing.

Day 901
We woke up at 8, but stayed in bed for awhile before getting up for pet stuff and breakfast. After that there was a little more surfing. Then both of us started moving things into the trailer. Ellen took over a lot of food. I took over the gifts, cameras, and loaded some of the stuff that was in the garage. All of that took until noon.
After lunch we went outside and washed and waxed the truck. That is one big vehicle and it took hours in the hot sun. We didn't get done until 4.
At 5 it took the dog to the mailbox. Lee met me at the gate. We haven't been able to talk much the whole winter. We kind of made up for it this evening. We talked until 7. The subjects ranged from poltics and fake news, to stories, to him maybe teaching kids pistol at Hog Hollow.
After that I had left over stir fry for dinner. Then we watched TV and I read for the rest of the evening.

Day 900
We woke up at 8 today and did a little game playing before getting up. Then it was pet stuff and breakfast. After breakfast I went out on a thistle search and destroy mission. I walked the entire grass area looking for thistles. I only found a very few. I finished a little after 10.
We decided to go to the estate sale that we took Isaac to on Friday. The dresser we were interested in was sold, but we did pick up some half price items for Isaac. He should be able to make a few bucks off of them. We also took the dog to Circle C on the way back.
I had lunch when we got home. Then I went out to mow the lawn. I had to stop a couple of times to dig thistles that I'd missed in the morning. I also forgot to turn off the blade when I stopped it once. That meant it wouldn't start. I did a little futile debugging and then decided to look up the manual. That's when I discovered that this lit up icon on the panel meant "blade engaged".
When I was finished I was hot and dusty (it was 85). It's amazing how dusty it was given that it had rained yesterday. I went inside and took a much needed shower.
After the shower I surfed until dinner. Ellen fixed stir fry. After dinner I watched TV and read.
This is the start of getting ready to leave. Tomorrow I'll start loading up the trailer.

Day 899
We got up at 5 today and did the pet stuff. Isaac showed up at 5:30 and we took him to the airport. Of course there was almost no traffic that early on a Saturday. There was some traffic at the departure gates, but not at the end we needed to go to. All in all it was as smooth as it gets.
We stopped at Jim's for breakfast. They had a paper and I read in it that the auto show was on downtown. It started at 10, so we went home and surfed for an hour or more. Then we went to the convention center about 9:15. Traffic was still pretty light, so we took 290 to I35. It was fine.
The parking structure was almost empty, we parked on the first floor. We actually had to wait about 15 minutes for it to open.
The show was pretty fun. We saw a lot of cars. We've pretty much decided on a Mazda 6, either blue or gray. Everything else is either more than we want to spend, or not at the level of the Mazda.
It was almost 1 when we left, so we walked south a couple of blocks to a restaurant in an expensive hotel. Lunch was $70, but it was really good. I hadn't been in a really upscale place like that in quite awhile. It was fun.
We stopped at the post office and HEB on the way back. We didn't get back until 4 and were really tired. I did some surfing and then took a nap. Dinner was leftover pizza and a salad.
After dinner I watched MMA and Highway thru Hell. I also managed to read a couple of magazines.

Day 898
We got up at 8 again today and did the pet stuff and breakfast. We told Isaac to be ready at 9:30, so we surfed until then. He showed up at 9:30 and we left for the estate sale. It was a pretty good one. We bought some small items and so did Isaac. His should make him a few bucks when he resells them.
We then went to Funkadelic for brunch. It was really good. Then it was the post office (only one proxy). The final stop was Circle C so the dog could do retrieves. Actually we made a last minute decision to stop at Tomlinson's also so Lucy could get some treats.
When we got home I took Isaac on the tour through the property. I showed him all of the buildings ad went through all of the systems with him. I'm not sure how much of the information he retained. He's kind of a laid back, whatever, Millennial. Unlfortunately the internet in the apartment isn't working. Ellen spent quite a bit of time trying to fix it, but no joy.
After that we both surfed until it was time to take the dog to the mailbox. Jeff met me on the way and said he'd be over later to meet Isaac. He showed up about 6:30 and we all had a good talk.
We were all hungry after that, so we went to NXNW for dinner. It was really good. I had 2 beers, which is more than I've drunk in a ling time. We went to the yogurt place for dessert.
When we got home Isaac watched some NBA while we watered the cats. Then Isaac went to bed. We'll have to leave here about 5:30 tomorrow to get him to the airport.
I did a little surfing and then went to bed.

Day 897
We got up at 8, did pet stuff and had breakfast. After a little bit of surfing it was time to go to the doctor again. The trip was a repeat of Tuesday's trip, except this time Ellen had an appointment. The doctor said everything looked fine and she is progressing about as expected.
We stopped at the post office on the way back - more proxies. Isaac was still asleep when we got back about 10:30. Apparently he's having a hard time adjusting to the new time zone. I don't blame him. He got up and dressed and we took his car to the airport. We had to get it there before 1:00 or it would have cost another $150.
After that he needed to buy some socks and shampoo. So we went to Costco. I took the opportunity to by water for our trip. By then it was time for lunch so we stopped at 5 Guys. Their hamburgers were good, but the fries were inedible. They were way too salty and limp because they hadn't cooked them in hot enough oil. We got cookies next door for dessert.
There was an estate sale between Dripping Springs and Wimberley, so we drove there. We didn't get there until after 2. The place was pretty picked over even though it was out in the sticks. I bought a Texas flag. Isaac bought a BBQ propane fitting that turned out not to be the bargain he thought it was. He was only out $.50 though.
We hurried home so Ellen could go to the club. Isaac and I watched TV until about 5. Then he went to take a shower and a nap. I took the dog to the mailbox and then fed everyone.
Ellen got home about 7. We went to Chuy's for dinner. We stopped at Whole Foods afterwards and got some mangos. When we got home I used hem to make mango margaritas. They were pretty good. After a little TV we all went to bed.

Day 896
I woe up at 6 today, turned over and went back to sleep until 8. Then it was get up, pet stuff, and breakfast. We surfed until 9:45, then it was time to take the cats to the vet (Lucy came too).
The vet said they are doing about as good as can be expected. Fletcher is losing weight, and he shouldn't be. She also said to shoot Taiko up with more water.
After that we headed to the bank on William Cannon. On the way we stopped at a place on Brodie where we had a 25% off coupon and had lunch. While we were there I got a text from CVS. So we went back to Slaughter and picked it up. Then we went to the bank.
Ellen got the notary to witness her signing the Intel retirement papers. Then we took them to the post office and mailed. All in all we spent more than 3.5 hours before we got home.
When we got home I did a little surfing and then put the new screen in the GPS we bought awhile back at an estate sale. I wish I'd checked it. I would never have given them $35 for it. It works now though.
Isaac called about 3:30. He was just leaving Houston. His plane was late and apparently he had some trouble getting his phone set up as an American phone. I told him we'd take him to dinner when he got here.
Isaac got here about 6:30. We immediately took him to Longhorn. He had a 22 oz. steak and fries and ate all of it. We were done about 8:30 and came home. We spent a few minutes in the apartment with him and then let him go to sleep.
We surfed the rest of the evening.

Day 895
We woke up at 7:45, did the pet stuff and had breakfast. We left for the doctor a little after 8:30. The dog stayed home because it was gong to be hot.
I knew to stay off loop 1. There was a crash on Slaughter, but it was after Escarpment. We took Escarpment up to William Cannon, turned left, and took Beckett and the back way to 290.
290 was OK to loop 1. Loop 1 wa slow from 290 until we got to downtown. We stopped a couple of times, but for the most part it was just slow. After downtown it was clear sailing to 35th, and then on to the doctor's office. We were at the office about 40 minutes after we left home.
We were at the doctor's office for only a few minutes. Dumbass wife had the wrong day. I have to do this all again on Thursday.
The next stop was the vet. We got 8 bags of fluid. That should last us until Oregon. We also stopped for donuts at the donut shop next door. The next stop was Goodwill across the street. I unloaded all of the garden stuff the previous owners had left on the deck. I've been meaning to do that for years.
We stopped at CVS on the way back west on Slaughter to transfer another prescription. Then it was up Brodie to Lowe's to get some keys to the apartment made. Unfortunately the machine couldn't make the lock key. We went to Home Depot, but their machin couldn't do it either.
The next stop was the post office. I had to go to the window because there were too many proxy statements to fit in the box. The total number was only about 15, but half of them had annual reports. From there we went to Wells Fargo. We got some money and got a marriage certificate out of the safe deposit box. The last stop was HEB.
When we got home I went through the mail and voted the proxies. The badges for the NRA convention were there, as was the paperwork for the Intel pension. It's several pages, I'll read it tomorrow.
Isaac is due in today. So I moved the rest of the Oregon stuff from the living room to the garage. I also turned on the water heater. That should complete getting ready for him to move in.
In order to get something accomplished towards leaving I gave the inside of the car a thorough cleaning. Hopefully it won't get too dirty in the next two weeks.
Isaac's plane came in from New Zealand to Houston at 12:40. It's 6:30 now and he hasn't shown up yet. I bet he's stuck in traffic.
Ellen came home at 7 and called Melissa. He's not coming until tomorrow. I had a late dinner (pizza) and then surfed while Ellen watched her fantasy shows.

Day 894
I woke up at 8 this morning, but stayed in bed awhile playing games. When I got up it was pet stuff and breakfast followed by a little surfing. Then I went to the garage to start the process of going to Oregon. I opened up the outside doors on the trailer and put some stuff from the apartment in it. I also took a couple of things out. Then I moved some other stuff into the truck.
When I folded the truck bed cover I noticed that the screws holding one of the latches had all come out. So I went back to the garage to find 5 bigger screws. They couldn't be any longer, but they had to be thicker. It took awhile to find ones that would work. Then I had to drill out the holes in the latch metal. The result looks good though.
It was almost noon by the time I was done. They garage guys had called before 11 to say they'd be there in an hour. I ate lunch and started reading. The garage guys showed up about 1.
Apparently installing the opener is a lot more complicated than just bolting it on. They had to remove the door and do a bunch of other stuff. They weren't done until almost 5. That meant the whole day was killed. I was a little pissed. We have some time critical things to get done that didn't get done.
After they left I put the garage back together. I also took a couple of things to the back storage building. Then I took the dog to the mailbox. I didn't do my exercises because they were working on the door. The good thing is that the new door/opener combination works great.
Dinner was a TV dinner and salad. After dinner I did some reading. The TV was on, but I didn't really watch it.
Apparently Isaac is arriving tomorrow. I'll have to move the rest of the stuff for Oregon out of the apartment tomorrow morning. I'll probably put it in the trailer for now. Most of it will end up in the truck.

Day 893
We got up at 6:45, did pet stuff, and went to the club. It was 39 degrees when we got there. We stood around for awhile. I had a cup of coffee. Eventually they gave us the station assignments. Ellen had station 1 in front of the clubhouse. I had a station on the other course a long way from the clubhouse. I took the dog and started walking. It was quite a walk. I'd left early, so there was only a few people on the courses. That allowed me to let Lucy off her leash. She was happy. I managed to get some swag at a couple of the tents.
When I got to the station there wasn't anything to do. The course had several vendor tents set up and I walked over to one. All of the vendors were from the oil and gas industry. I was talking to two guys that made pumps that pumped natural gas from wells to the pipelines. These are quite cool things.
After about 45 minutes the shoot started. They had 12 stations on my course, with A and B squads on all stations. We were done about 12:30. I had fun giving some of the shooters some advice. They were so grateful when it worked.
When I got back to the club they were just starting lunch. We had to wait quite awhile while the 200 shooters got there's. The lunch was pork chops, beans, potato salad and rolls. It was really good. Lucy got a large percentage of one pork chop.
We talked with Rick for awhile and then went home. We stopped at Home Depot on the way so I could pick up a couple of things. When we got home Dola was finishing up the painting. It's finally done. I went to the garage and install a latch I'd bought at Hoe Depot. I also used a vinyl patch kit to fix some small tears in the mower seat before they could become big ones.
The patch kit pissed me off. The glue tube was under pressure, so when I opened it I got some on the nice shirt I won at the shoot last week. I'm not sure we'll be able to get it all off.
I also organized some of the stuff that needs to be taken to Oregon. There's more to do, but I've got some stuff boxed up. When I finished with that I put all of the stuff on the deck that had been moved for the painting back where it belongs. It's so nice to have everything back where it belongs, especially the table by the front door and the recycle bins.
Dinner was noodles. After dinner I watched MMA fights.

Day 892
I got up at 8, did the pet stuff and had breakfast. Then I went out to the garage and did a little work. I cleared it up for the door install. Then I worked on some of the stuff I bought at the last estate sale. I put the hardware away, cleaned up a ruler, and removed the rust from a ratchet wrench. It was completely locked up, but Kroil did the trick.
About the time I finished Dola showed up to paint. I went back to the house and ate lunch. then I surfed the afternoon away while Dola painted.
I did my exercises at 4, but I didn't go to the mailbox.
Dinner was macaroni and cheese with the sausage we brought back from the shoot on Thursday.
The evening was watching Deadliest Catch.

Day 891
I got up a little before 8. That's because we have to get up early on Sunday to go to the club. Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.
The first order of business was to call the garage guy. They were supposed to call me Tuesday to say when they would finish the job. They didn't. They didn't call me the last two days either. I called him and he was apologetic. About 15 minutes later he called me back to say it will be done Monday. I hope so.
We put the dog in the crate and went car shopping. We test drove the Camry. It's a nice mid range car, and would be acceptable. It's not very exciting though. Then we went to Genesis. We both really liked that car, but it costs about $15K more than the Camry. We may end up with it anyway.
By then it was 1, and we were hungry. We went to a Cuban place on Congress that I'd read about. It was OK, but nothing to write home about. Mojitos are $9. At least they were strong.
Our last stop was Kia. They only had one Stinger. We looked at it, but they don't do test drives. The mid-range model I wanted doesn't have a heads up display and costs a little more than the Camry and Mazda. The high end model costs more than the Genesis.
I was going to go to an estate sale after that, but Ellen's asshole was acting up. So we went to the post office and went home. There were 33 proxy statements in the mailbox. This is getting ridiculous.
I surfed and read for awhile when we got home and then did my exercises. After 3 days off it wasn't as painful as I thought it would be. Then I took the dog to the mailbox. Dinner was leftovers from lunch.
The evening was surfing and TV.

Day 890
We got to the club at 7:30. They had coffee, donuts, and breakfast burritos. After last night I wasn't about to eat anything. I had half a cup of heavily doctored coffee.
Just about all of the setup had been done yesterday. So we milled around and talked with folks until Mark decided to give the greeting/safety speech and start handing out guns.
Ellen and I did the warmups. There were three machines. One was fairly easy, and the other two were hard. I asked Rick for a wrench and let off the spring of one to make it medium. We ran that for about an hour before the start of the match.
Ellen kind of stayed with one squad. I walked between stations, stopping at each one with a squad. I help them at that station, and then walk to another station. That way I got to work with a lot of people. They seemed to appreciate it and I had fun.
When they were about 2/3 done I got the guns and met Ellen at the Flurry. We shot it three time by ourselves, and twice with teams. It was really fun. We shot the first and last pretty well, and sucked at the second one. We ended up with quite a few tickets.
I ate lunch, even though I thought it was a risk. It was BBQ again, and at least as good as Salt Lick. I didn't have any problems. I think last night was due to the 4 Taco Bell tacos I had for lunch yesterday. That food truly makes you run for the border.
Our tickets translated into quite a few prizes. We turned some back (along with the reloader we won last year). We kept a Leatherman, some electronic earmuffs, a camelback, a shotgun cleaning kit, and a shooting shirt. Mark also gave us some nice Carhartt coats. Unfortunately they are too big.
Afterwards we helped cleanup and put things away. Of course that takes quite awhile. We were done about 6. We were really tired when we got home. Dinner was a sandwich. Afterwards it was surfing and TV.

Day 889
We got up in time to get to the club by 7:30. As we got to the gate Mark texted and said they wouldn't be there until 8. So we went back inside for another half hour. We got to the club at 8, they didn't get there until close to 9.
The morning was spent in the usual way - unpack the trailer, unpack the prizes, make up the goodie bags, and general do anything that needed to be done. Mark went out to look at the targets. I went out to one of the stations that they were at. Mark wanted a true pair, which would have been really hard. I told him it should be report. I found out later he took my advice.
Lunch was Taco Bell. I ate it because I was hungry. Then we took the VIP's shooting. We had a good time and they did, too. They were a really nice group of people. We finished up a little before 6, and lunch was at the Salt Lick at 7. That gave us enough time to go home, feed everyone, I took a shower, and then back to Salt Lick.
The food was really good. Some of the VIP's brought booze because it's BYOB. I just had root beer. We had a great conversation with some of them.
The diarrhea hit just as I walked in the front door at 9:30. It was colonoscopy bad, but I felt OK afterwards. I went to bed at 11, because we needed to be at the club early tomorrow.
I woke up at 2 with the familiar "I need to shit" belly pain. I went into the can and let an enormous fart. I went back to bed - that lasted a few minutes. Then it was back to the toilet for another round of diarrhea. I did that twice more in the next half hour. I was hurting. Finally I was empty and managed to go back to sleep.

Day 888
I got up a little before 8, did pet stuff and had breakfast. At 8:30 left for the doctor. When I got there it only took a few minutes to get the second of the shingles shots. They wanted $341 though because the goddamn insurance didn't pay any of the bill from February. I'm glad I'm off it.
After that we went to the park to walk the dog. We walked all around the park, including a long section through the trees that we'd never been on before. Lucy really liked it. Afterwards we stopped at HEB for some much needed groceries. We also stopped at Tomlinson's to get some dog food I forgot the other day. Lucy was very happy about that. The last stop was the post office - there were 22 proxy statements waiting for me.
When we got home I put everything away and then had lunch. After lunch I went out and poisoned the environment. It took more than two hours, but hopefully the weeds will be no more. After a shower I tackled the proxys. It took 35 minutes to open all of them and vote online. What a pile of shit.
By then it was time for Ellen to go to shooting. I stayed home and surfed. I didn't do my exercises, but I did take the dog to the mailbox. Dinner was left over red beans and rice.
After dinner I watched a movie and a half on Amazon. The second movie wasn't good enough to finish.

Day 887
I got up a little after 8 this morning. After pet stuff and breakfast I went out and opened the gate for the garage guys. Then I went through the Intel pension papers. I thought they'd sent the app. No, they sent 25 pages of instructions and disclaimers. I had to call them again to actually get the application. They say they'll send it in a couple of weeks. Then I'll need a copy of our marriage license to get the money. This is beyond stupid.
The garage guys showed up about 11. They worked for a little while and then discovered they'd left a part of their equipment at the shop. It's up above 183 and Mopac. It took them over an hour to go get it.
Then they found the door didn't fit. It needed to be mounted lower then usual. I told them to do it. They worked a little bit more and discovered that the door was designed to have the actuator on the wrong side. They called to see if there was another available.
A while later I went out to check on them. They'd called the manufacturer and discovered that there's an adapter that will allow the actuator to be mounted on the other side. So they installed the new door, but not the actuator. They're supposed to call tomorrow to tell me when they will be back to finish the job. At least the new door works really nice in manual mode.
They didn't leave until almost 6. I didn't do my exercises, but I did take the dog to the mailbox.
At 7 I went to the board meeting. It was a lot more peaceful than I thought it would be and only lasted an hour.
The rest of the evening was TV.

Day 886
I didn't wake up until 8:30. Then it was pet stuff and breakfast. I surfed for awhile and then went out to the garage to clear out the area for the garage door guys to work in tomorrow. Then I went through the drill and screwdriver bit collection I bought at the estate sale. Some of the pieces were rusty and I used the Dremel to clean the rust off.
After that we went car shopping. When we got to the Kia place it was closed. Tha's when we discovered that It is against Texas law for a car dealership to be open both days of a weekend. That means they are all closed on Sundays.
Ellen wanted to go to JoAnn's, so we did Then we ate at Steak and Shake. We took the dog to the pet store across the parking lot. Then it was back home.
I surfed the afternoon away until it was time to do my exercises. Then I separated out all of the stuff on the back porch that I want to take to Goodwill. The last act was taking the dog to the mailbox. I didn't go yesterday because we got back so late.
Ellen spent the afternoon sewing up the fringe on anther rug. She has one to go. She fixed red beans and rice for dinner. After dinner we watched Blade Runner 2049. It was one of the 4K discs Hooch bought me for my birthday.

Day 885
I woke up at 7:30, went back to sleep until 8. It was 47 degrees outside, so there was no point in getting up. Instead we surfed for a little more than an hour before getting up for pet stuff and breakfast.
After that it was a trip to PC hell. My new little computer was in "tablet mode". That meant it's user interface was screwed. Ellen got it out of that mode and then I spent a couple of hours with all three of my computers set up side by side. I finally got all three of them to look more or less the same.
After that I shopped for a clothes hamper for the apartment on Amazon. I found one and ordered it. It was about lunch time, so we went to a place I'd read about in the Impact magazine. It turned out to be popular and crowded. We just managed to get a table. The food was really good. After the meal we had a little conversation with the owner. He had just opened the place after being manager of the Whole Foods restaurant. When Amazon took it over they layed off the whole department. He used them all to start the restaurant. We'll be back.
By then the temperature had dropped to the low 40's. We went car shopping. We test drove an Accord. It's a nice car, but too noisy. Then we went to see Kia. I took the wrong exit and we ended up going north from William Cannon on the frontage road. Traffic really sucked. Since we were driving by we stopped at Acura instead. I had Ellen look at the RLX. She agrees it's a cool car, but she doesn't want to pay $1K/mo to lease one. I kind of agree.
Ellen's asshole was giving her trouble. We made a brief stop at Restore so I could get a broom for the apartment and then we went home. It was about 6 when we got there.
I had a pizza for dinner. After dinner I surfed while Ellen watched chick flicks.

Day 884
I woke up at 7:30 and went back to sleep until 8. Then it was get up, pet stuff, and breakfast. After that I surfed while Ellen finished getting the old computer configured as a hotspot. That took awhile because it kept wanting to do more updates, even though it said it was finished yesterday.
When she got it done we went to the apartment to test. Without the antenna there's no signal from the house inside the apartment or garage. I hooked the antenna to the laptop in the garage. We got a good signal. It's not perfect, but it's acceptable. That meant it was time to finish the install. I went inside for lunch first.
After lunch I put the brackets on the shelf and attached the shelf to the wall. Then I measured out where the hole for the wire should go and drilled the hole in the wall. I pushed the wire through the wall and attached the wall plate. Finally I stapled the excess wire onto the outside of the apartment framing and cleaned up.
The process had involved disconnecting the antenna, so I had Ellen come back out to check things out. They didn't work. Apparently disconnecting the antenna causes the computer to revert to it's internal antenna. Ellen had to mess around a bit to get it working again. It's doing fine now.
After that Ellen wrote up some instructions which I added to the instruction sheet I'm writing for Isaac. About that time the Mazda guy called to say a 2018 Mazda 6 had come in. I told him we'd come by after dinner.
Ellen fixed pancakes and bacon for dinner. Then we went to the Mazda place. The new car isn't as nice as the Audi, but it's much improved over the old one. They didn't have the dressed up model I wanted, but they'll call when they do.
We also stopped at Toyota. The new Camry looks really nice. We're going to drive one next week.
When we got home it was shoot up the cats, surf, and go to bed.

Day 883
I didn't get up until a little after 9. I did the pet stuff and had breakfast. Then it was a little surfing. I left Ellen at home and Lucy and I went to an estate sale.
The estate was a rich one. The person had a wall of CD's, and another wall of blu-rays. Many of them were still in their wrapping. I bought a dozen blu-rays for $3 a piece. I also bought this drill and screwdriver bit collection. I missed the Dremel tools. I saw the guy that picked them up. The dumbasses that ran the sale only took cash. That would have been OK, except they didn't have enough change. I was lucky. I was the last person to buy something before they ran out of change.
The next stop was CVS to get my drugs. I also stop at Wells Fargo to replenish the $100 bill I spent. There was a short stop at HEB for bananas, and then Circle C for a fast walk around the park.
I had lunch and talked a little with Dola. She had done some painting, but the paint she had was contaminated with pollen from yesterday. I guess she'll do more next week.
After lunch it was surfing and working on the old computer. Ellen managed to get logged onto her old computer. She'd given me the wrong password. She'd started updating my old computer, so I continued it. There were 72 updates. The process took several hours. Updating hers took even longer.
We went to dinner at Longhorn. We used a coupon and the gift card we bought last year. It was really good. When we got home Ellen continued on her computer and watched TV. I surfed and read.

Day 882
I purposely slept in today. I have to pick up Ellen a midnight tonight. After pet stuff and breakfast The dog and I left to go to estate sales. That's right, estate sales on Wednesday.
The first one was at the Y. It was an older house. I scored a few small items - a pegboard screwdriver holder, a small level, and a couple of chisels - $3.
I took a short detour to the post office and then went to the second sale on Trautwein. It was the estate of this rich grandson of a Texas governor. The place was a sprawling 1 story. I stared in the garage and bought a few items - some mending straps, a 100' tape measure, and a pair of lighthouse salt and peper shakers. I know we've already bought Patty some, but these look nice. The total cost was $7.
The rest of the house didn't have anything that interested me. There were at least 6 rooms filled with books. All total their must have been thousands in the estate. I don't need books.
Dola was painting when I got home. I put my purchases in the garage and then had lunch. After that I surfed the rest of the afternoon away. At 4 I did my exercises and put away the stuff I had purchased. Then I took the dog to the mailbox.
Dinner was a fish burger and salad again. That's the last of the fish burgers for awhile. After dinner I surfed and watched a little TV killing time for Ellen to come in. Her plane was really late leaving Portland. I'm not sure she'll make the connection in Dallas.

Day 881
I was up at 8 again, did the pet stuff and had breakfast. I really had nothing to do today, so I surfed until 10. I wanted to wait until then to call the garage guy. The scheduling person was supposed to call me yesterday and didn't. When I did call him he finally gave me a date - this Saturday.
After that I surfed until lunch - did I say I had nothing to do? After lunch the dog and I went to the post office. While I was driving there the garage guy called and rescheduled for the morning of the 9th. I'd told him weeks ago that it had to be in by the 9th. I hope he doesn't change the date again.
After the post office it was HEB to get the milk I forgot yesterday. Then it was a fast walk around the park. This time I remembered to wear shoes. Ellen called on the way home wanting me to look through the checkbook for our 2017 charitable expenses. I did that when I got home and called her back.
There was no way I wanted to do any more surfing, so I made up a task. Dola painted the door yesterday and there was paint all over the windows (as planned). I decided to scrape it off. It gave me something to do for awhile. She'll be surprised. Then it was surfing until time to go to the mailbox and have dinner (fish burger).
After dinner was a little more surfing and then TV.

Day 880
I got up at 8, did the pet stuff, and had breakfast.
Nothing much happened today. I just didn't have anything to do. Dola came over to paint, so I had to hang around surfing. I called the garage door guy. He said he'd get the install scheduled, but he didn't call back. I emailed a guy about fixing the safe, he didn't respond. I spent a lot of time with the Audi guy in Wilsonville. It turned out to be a confusing website.
Dola left, so I went on errands. I took a whole lot of stuff to Goodwill and got the mail. Then I went to the pet store for cat food and cat litter. I also stopped at Costco for water. I needed milk, but forgot to stop at HEB. I had originally planned on walking in the park, but dummy me put on sandals instead of shoes.
I had lunch when I got home and then just surfed the afternoon away. At 4 I did my exercises and at 5 I took the dog to the mailbox.
Dinner was a TV dinner and the evening was TV and reading.

Day 879
Up at 8 again today, but it took some effort to get up. Then it was pet stuff and an abbreviated breakfast - I forgot to buy bananas yesterday. I surfed the first part of the morning away. Then I went to the apartment to finish making it ready for the nephew. I cleaned out the closet and moved the spare towels onto one of the new laundry shelves. They should have plenty of shelf space. The dresser is empty, but it's also not very big.
Some of the closet stuff had to go upstairs. So I measured out what I needed to add some more decking and enclose the wires that you have to climb over at the top of the stairs. Then it was off to Lowe's. They are open on Easter.
The first stop was Circle C where I fast walked around the park. I was going to stop at HEB, but they were closed. I went to Lowe's and got the lumber I needed. Boards aren't really expensive, but plywood sure is. The place was pretty deserted. I used chip board. On the way back I stopped at Randall's for bananas.
There was a fair amount of traffic. Loop 1 was backed up to Davis, so I got off there and drove down Beckett to Slaughter. I suspect I'll be doing that a lot in the next few years.
When I got home I had lunch. Then I got to work in the apartment. Everything went pretty smoothly except for one split 2x4. The result looks and works pretty good. It was hot up in the attic though, 84 degrees outside.
I got done about 3:30 and went back inside to surf. I started to look at the build sheets that the Audi guy in Wilsonville showed me. It turns out that the A5 Sportback config we bought is exactly the one I would have purchased if I'd been specing one out. I spec'd out an A4 also. It comes in cheaper, but mainly because it lacks the ventilated seats and the adaptive suspension.
I had dinner and then did a little online Audi shopping. The A5 prices I found matched the build sheet. The A4 prices did not. Across the country the A4 Prestige models appeared to have two option packages that should be included in the Prestige package added on separately. That amounted to $4,200 in options that appeared to be billed twice. I emailed the Wilsonville guy to ask about it.
After spending hours on this, I surfed until it was time to go to bed.
