Day 2530

I got up a little before 8, did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  Then I went outside to get ready to leave.

The first step was dumping the tanks.  It was a pain in the ass as usual.  I did manage to get some of the other hook up items done while I was waiting for tanks to fill or empty.  Everything went smoothly except for a small issue with getting hooked up.

The trip home was uneventful.  YEAH.  There was a lot of traffic though, even though it was Sunday.  We made good time though, getting home by about 11:30.

Of course the gate wasn't working.  I unhooked it and we went in.  We put the cats in the house, turned on the fridge and water heater, and then went back out to park the trailer.  It must have taken at least 45 minutes to get it parked.  It's just so tight getting it where it needs to be.  Then we unhooked, covered the tires, and hooked up electric.

After that the marathon began.  I unloaded the truck and the basement, putting everything away.  By then I was very hot and tired.  I went inside the trailer and started to move personal things to the house.  By 3:15 I just couldn't to anymore.  I wasn't tired, I was exhausted.

While I was doing that Ellen moved her personal stuff, the pantry, and some of the fridge.  She was hot and tired, too.

I went back to the house, had lunch, and sat in the recliner watching TV.  A bunch of the streaming apps needed updating.  I worked the TV while Ellen got the passwords from the computer.  It took 90 minutes or more for me to recover.  Then I went back to the trailer and moved the plants, computers, and guns.

I went out to the gate and messed with the opener.  I got it to work.  We'll have to see if it's still working tomorrow.  I also set up the new bed stand lamp we bought.

I had a late dinner.  I wanted dessert, so I went back to the trailer and brought over 3 bags of frozen stuff.  Ellen put them away.  There's still more stuff in the fridge and freezer.

Ellen cancelled DirecTV.  She turned off Star Link too, but they are going to charge us for November.  Assholes.

Day 2529

I woke up at 8:30, played games for a short while, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After breakfast I went outside and connected the sewer hose to the trailer.  That will save me a little time tomorrow when I dump the tanks.

It was still too early to go to the club, so we killed about half an hour surfing.  Then we left for the club.  Ellen shot at the women's event.  She didn't shoot very well at all.  I don't know why, she should have done well because the targets weren't that hard.  She was disappointed when it was over.

We drove to the 28 ga event and waited until it was over.  We met the couple from yesterday there and drove with them to the practice fields.  Ellen got out her 20 ga and let the woman shoot it.  Apparently she was very impressed and is planning on buying one.

After that we went over to Shoot the Moon and Ellen ordered a vest.  After that we went to the roach coaches for lunch.  Gerry and his wife met us there.  We had lunch there and then went over to the Beretta place where I demo'd the gun I think Lee should get.

After that we talked for a while and then parted ways.  I was tired and sore, so we just went home.  The cats were glad to see us.

I did a little prep for tomorrow - mostly putting stuff away.  Then it was the recliner and videos.  Dinner was leftovers.

Day 2528

I woke up at 8:30 today, got up and did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  Then it was a little surfing before we went to the club.

We stopped by registration to turn in our signature sheets.  Then we went to the 20 ga course.  That's when we found out that they had delayed the start time by 30 minutes because of the heavy rain last night land this morning.  We got to sit in the truck for an extra half an hour because of that.

By the time we started it was cloudy, windy, and a little cold.  We wore sweatshirts.  Both of us shot slightly better than yesterday, but still like shit.  Oh well.

When we were finished we went back to the clubhouse and ate lunch at a roach coach.  It served chicken tenders.  They were surprisingly good.  We also stopped at the clubhouse and bought some really cool t-shirts.

We decided not to go back to the trailer.  Instead we killed time walking around and looking at some vendors.  Eventually we got tired of that and just sat on the patio surfing.  A guy we shot with today showed up with his wife.  We talked for a while.  She wants to get a gun.  Were going to let her shoot Ellen's tomorrow.

Skip came by and sat with us.  We got dinner when they started serving.  Gerry and his wife showed up as we were eating.  They sat down and we all had dinner together.  After dinner Skip went home.  The rest of us went to watch the pro shooters.  By then it was getting a little cold.  We lasted about2/3 through the show before we decided to go home.

It was 9 by the time we got home.  The cats weren't happy.  After a little surfing it was off to bed.

Day 2527

I got up a little after 8, did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  After that it was surfing until it was time to go to the club.

We drove to the K-cup with about 15 minutes to spare.  It was plenty of time.  The weather was sunny and warm (not hot).  There was a little wind but not much.

Ellen didn't shoot particularly well.  I SUCKED.  None of the targets were particularly hard.  I just couldn't shoot worth a damn.  There were many stations where I would solidly hit the first two pairs, and then miss 2 or 3 in the next two.  It was pretty frustrating.

The gun cart broke while we were shooting.  When we were done we went home for lunch.  Then we went to Home Depot for gun cart parts.  I found what I needed plus the allen wrenches I couldn't find yesterday.  We stopped at Sonic on the way home for snacks.  We also stopped at Academy.  I scored a couple of pairs of shorts on sale - $15 a piece.

When we got home I repaired the broken gun cart.  I even took the opportunity to redo the other cup to prevent it from failing.  By then it was after 5 and time to feed the cats.

We surfed for a while and then Ellen fixed sausage for dinner.  It started to rain after dinner.  It may rain tomorrow.

After dinner was some videos and more surfing.

Day 2526

I woke up about 8, got up and did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  After that I spent la little time watching a video on how to program the tire sensors.  It was obvious that the guys yesterday didn't know what they were doing.  When it was done we went back to the tire store.

I talked to a new guy at the store and explained the problem.  I had to wait a little while and then another guy came out with the programmer.  He obviously knew what he was doing.  After a couple of attempts at programming he determined that the new sensor hadn't been installed correctly.

I had to go back inside and wait while they took the tire off the truck and reinstalled the sensor.  It took about half an hour before it was done.  It wasn't happy with having to go back, but I was happy with how they handled the problem.

From there we drove to the club.  We picked up the 20 ga. guns.  They looked great.  Unfortunately i'd forgotten to put the gun bags in the truck.  That meant that we had to go back to the trailer before we could shoot.

We got the bags and returned to the club.  On the way we stopped for a couple of things at Lowe's and a great lunch at a Cajun place.  When we got to the club we stopped at registration to see Gretchen.  Then we shot two boxes of practice.  We're both happy with the changes to our guns.

When we were finished with practice we looked at a couple of vendors that we'd missed yesterday.  Then it was back to the trailer.  We surfed and fed the cats.  Then we went to dinner at a BBQ place in Helotes.  We met Gerry, his wife, Skip, and a friend of theirs.  The BBQ was great and we had a good time visiting with everyone.

We got home about 8, did some surfing, and then went to bed.  I'm very tired.

Tuesday, October 25, 2022

Day 2525

I woke up at 8, got up to do the pet stuff and have breakfast.  Then I did a little surfing before putting the guns in the truck and going to the club.

Our first stop was registration.  Then it was over to the ammo barn.  Unfortunately they didn't have any White Gold.  We had to settle for Fiocchi.  Then we drove over to the portable area and dropped off the 20 ga guns to have the stocks modified.  They will be ready tomorrow morning.

After that we spent a couple of hours walking up and down vendor's row.  We managed to get our vendor signature sheets filled out.  I also bought a couple of t-shirts.  We left without seeing everything because I had to go get the tires replaced.

Ellen did the wash while I went to the tire store.  They got me out of there in an hour.  Unfortunately they didn't fix the tire sensors.  I'll have to go back tomorrow.  I also spoke with the insurance lady.  She said I needed to send pictures to the claims department.

The truck got to 100% soot as I left the tire place.  It started a regen just before I got to Portrenco.  I just kept driving on 1604.  It ends about 3 miles farther down.  I turned around and drove back to Wiseman and then turned south again.  I did this several times until I'd driven about 25 miles.  Then the regen ended with a soot level of 15.  I'm pretty happy with that.

After the regen was done I went home and took pictures of the truck.  I was having a lot of problems with the camera going into weird modes when all I wanted to do was take pictures.  When that was done I had Ellen come out to help me saw off a section of the blown tire's tread.  The insurance lady said the claims dept. might want it.  The rest of the tire went into the dumpster.

I had Ellen help me  get out all of the ammo.  We sorted out what we'll use here and put the rest back in the truck.  While we were doing that I noticed that the truck cover had a loose stop.  I fixed that and now the cover latches much better.

We went back inside.  I looked up the tire monitor reset procedure.  As near as I can determine the guys were doing it wrong.  I'll go back later with a printout of the instructions.  The I texted my truck pictures to Ellen so she could add it to the claim.  I'll have to redo a couple tomorrow.

Ellen fixed chicken and pasta for dinner.  After dinner was videos.  I went to bed early.

Day 2524

I woke up at 7:30, got up and did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  The hookup went OK except for a little problem getting the hitch to connect.  I think it was just that we had the trailer a little too high.

The trip to San Antonio was fine.  Mileage wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible.  We even found a pretty cheap place to fuel up.  The trucks weren't bad either and the traffic was only bad for a short section of 1604.

I was pleased with myself and how the trip went until we were on1604 500 feet from the park entrance.  That's when the right rear tire on the truck blew.  It completely came apart.  When it did it destroyed the inner fender liner and the back mud flap.  It also half tore off the fender trim.  It looks like it is usuable with some new attachments.  The worse damage was a really bent lower fender well and a small crack in it.

I removed the destroyed rear mudflap so that there was clearance.  I also snapped the fender trim back in  place and taped it with Gorilla tape.  Ellen call Good Sam.  They said that they would send someone, due in half an hour.

A little while later a highway help truck showed up.  He set up some cones and parked his lit truck in back of us.  After an hour the tire guy called to say he couldn't change tires.  Great.  By then it was getting near rush hour and we couldn't stay where we were.  I drove to the park, we checked in, and I parked the trailer.

The wheel had been a little beaten up in the blowout.  Because the tire shredded itself driving on the rim tore up the wheel more.  I hope it's salvageable.

Ellen called Good Sam again and got them to send someone else.  I called the tire place and ordered four tires - Michelin, not Goodyear.  Then we set up the Star Link and waited.  It took a while for the new guys to show up.  When they did they did a really quick and efficient job of changing the tire.

When they were done we went to a Chinese place down the road to get dinner.  We stopped at HEB on the way back.

We did a little surfing when we got back.  Ellen found out that the screen on the bedroom window was broken.  I spent some time fixing it with a mending bar.  Then we went to bed.

Day 2523

I woke up at 8, got up and did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  Then I went out to hook up.  The hook up went much better without a fueling trip.  We hit the road by 9.

Today the traffic was much nicer.  That was good, because we were going through El Paso.  For reference it's about 50 miles to get from one end to the other.

Once we got through El Paso we started listening to podcasts again.  It was really fun.  There were a couple of worries.  For a lot of the trip it looked like we might be cutting it tight on fuel.  It turned out to be fine.  We used 26 gallons.  We had a strong crosswind all day.  At one point a huge tumble weed blew across the road in front of it.  I had to swerve violently to avoid it.  I was really worried about the axles, but it doesn't seem to have affected them.

We did a regen near the end of the trip.  The ash level went down to 25.  That's not good, but it's a lot better than the 45 it went down to on yesterday's regen.

I had to stop at a deserted exit about 20 miles from Ft. Stockon to take a shit.  I wasn't going to make it to the park.  I blame it on the pizza I had yesterday.

We got to the park about 2:30.  We set up and then went back into town to fuel up.  We found another place with $4.75/gal.  It was the cheapest in town, everything else was > $5.  Then it was back home.

I sat down to do some surfing and fell asleep.  The cats got another early dinner thanks to another time zone change.

We ate dinner at the cafe at the park.  It was pretty good.  After dinner was a few more videos and some surfing.  I've used over 1/3 of the data limit, so I'm going to have to lay off the videos.  Back to just surfing.

Day 2522

I woke up at 8, got up and did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  Then I went out to hook up.  That's when I realized that I'd forgotten to top off the truck fuel.  I took the truck over to the closest station and put 4.5 gallons in it.  Then it was back to hook up.

The hook up went fine until I tried to hitch up.  I kept not using enough force.  It took three times before I backed into the hitch hard enough for it to catch.  With all of the delays we didn't leave until 9:30.

Traffic was pretty heavy from Tucson to Benson.  Trucks were a pain in the ass on that section.  Actually they were a pin in the ass for most of the day.  There were several times where a truck in the left lane blocked me behind a slow truck in the right lane.

The book on tape we started when we left is boring.  I had Ellen play podcasts on my phone instead.  They were pretty interesting.  I'm getting tired of hearing about Ukraine though, especially since it's becoming clear that they won't win against Russia.

The trip itself was predictable, and thankfully, boring.  We got to the campground about 3:30.  We set up and then took the truck to get it filled up.  It was nice to pay $4.75/gal.  FUCK BIDEN.  Then we went back to the trailer for some surfing.  We didn't bother to set up the Star Link.  We used the cable and Verizon instead.  The cats were very happy with the time zone change.  Their dinner was an hour early.

My dinner was frozen pizza.  After dinner was videos.  I plan on using up all of the data before we get home.

Day 2521

I woke up about 7:30 and played games for a while.  Then it was up for pet stuff, breakfast, and a little surfing.  Then I went out to drain the tanks.

Draining the tanks wasn't any more fun than usual.  During the dead times I got out the B74 and the battery bag.  When I was finished with the tanks I put one of the batteries on the charger.

Of course it took quite a while to charge the battery.  I spent the time surfing and having lunch.  After lunch I took the B74 over to the RC track.  It's the first time I'd run it.  It was fast.  In fact I could only get it up to full speed driving up and down the roads.  Ellen came with me ad went over to the nature pound while I was going around the track.

I didn't fully run down the battery, but it was getting a little low by the time we got back.  I put the battery on partial charge and started watching videos.  There might have been a short nap in there somewhere.

Ellen fixed pork chops and hashbrowns for dinner.  After dinner we watched the latest James Bond flick.  It was woke as I expected.  They killed off the old James Bond.  The new one is a black female.  She isn't even very attractive - a little overweight with a big ass.  I guess that was part of the casting requirements.

Tomorrow is 279 miles to Las Cruces.  There's no reason to get going really early since there's nothing to do in Las Cruces.

Thursday, October 20, 2022

Day 2520

I woke up at 8:00 due to  junk phone call.  It was time to et up anyway.  I got up and did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  Then it was load up the truck to go to the club.

We got to the club with no problem, the traffic was light.  We shot the Red, hard, course.  Some of the targets were pretty humbling, but it was fun to be shooting hard targets.  The weather was pretty good, although it got a little hot by the end.

We went home for lunch after that - more Rudy's.  I moved the Star Link antenna to maybe get a little better reception.  It's seemed to help a little.  We watched a few videos and then went over to look at trailers.  The small Grand Design is really nice.  It's pricey though.  We also looked at a cheaper model as well.  It would do, but it's not as nice.  Finally we looked at replacements for our big trailer.  I'm not sure that the upgrades are worth the large price increases.

We went to ACE on the way home and got a few feet of nylon cord.  When I got home I drilled holes in the two new chocks we got to replace the ones that got killed yesterday.  Then I used the cord to make handles for the chocks.

After that it was videos.  Amazingly there wasn't a nap.

Ellen fixed Rudy's sausage and hashbrowns for dinner.  After dinner was more videos.  I've figured out how to not get into a video rut.  If I delete my viewing history YouTube starts showing me new things.

Wednesday, October 19, 2022

Day 2519

I woke up at 7:0 and played games for a while.  There was no reason to get up early because we only had 15 miles to travel.  Eventually it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After breakfast it was surfing.  Because checkin time in Tucson was 2, we couldn't leave until after 11.

We started to hook up about 11.  It took half an hour even with torquing the wheel nuts and having a little problem hooking up.  Then it was off to Tucson.

Then trip was OK except for one 8 mile section on city streets.  That was necessary to avoid some sort of blockage on the freeway we were planning on taking.

We got to Tucson just before 2.  Unhooking went great.  As soon as we were done we went to Rudys for lunch.  It was great, too.

When we got back I set up the Star Link.  Unfortunately it doesn't work very well because we have a cover over our spot.  It's still better than WiFi though.

I watched videos for a while and, you guessed it, had a nap.  When I woke up I really didn't feel like dinner.  I settled for a small snack.  After that it was videos until bed time.  It was good to have a warm shower.

Tuesday, October 18, 2022

Day 2518

I woke up at 5:30 because the PEC called to ask about the street light.  The work order said remove it.  I said just turn it off.  Apparently that's done at the office, so it should happen tomorrow.  I went back to sleep and woke up about 7:30.  Then it was get up for pet stuff and breakfast.

After that it was off to the laundromat.  It was a pretty crummy place.  It also was crowded and didn't have any chairs.  I sat out in the truck.  When we were finished we fueled up and stopped for groceries at the Safeway.  I only put in 10 gallons because fuel is cheaper in Tucson.  Then it was home.

When we got home I think I'm starting a tradition.  I watched some videos and took a nap.  That meant I had a late lunch.  Then it was more videos and another nap.

Ellen fixed shrimp and pasta for dinner.  It was good.  After dinner was more videos, but no more naps.

We only have 125 miles to make tomorrow, so we'll be able to take our time.

Monday, October 17, 2022

Day 2517

I woke up at 7:30 and played games until 9.  I was on a roll.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After that it was a little surfing.  We also used the Star Link app to reposition the satellite slightly.  Then we loaded up the truck and went to the club.  My leg (I think it's really my back) hurt when I got up, so I took some pills.  They helped a lot.

It was a nice day, warm but not uncomfortable.  The targets were really good.  Unfortunately there were quite a few broken birds.  Oh well, we still had a lot of fun.  I was disappointed that they no longer sell t-shirts, only hats.

When we were done we drove to a restaurant for lunch.  It was OK, but nothing special.  We went to Coldstone for dessert.  Then it was back home.

When we got back to the park I drove around the place to make sure I knew how to navigate it.  After that it was the recliner.  My leg was hurting again, so it was the recliner - videos that soon turned into a nap.

When I woke up I watched some videos and made myself a sandwich for dinner.  I didn't really feel like anything else.  Then I watched 1 and a half movies.  I'll probably finish the second, but it's pretty predictable.

Sunday, October 16, 2022

Day 2516

I woke up at 7:30, got up and did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  Then it was outside to hook up the trailer.  The hook up went fine.  Taking down the Star Link didn't add a whole lot of time to the process.  We were on the road in a little less than an hour.

The trip to Kingman went fine.  We got a little under 10 mpg, which isn't bad considering the large amount of up and down in that section.  We stopped at the top of the hill to fuel up.  I didn't want to bother with fueling up at Wickenburg.  There was actually a place down 93 a little way that would have been better.  We actually could have made it to Phoenix.  It's good we didn't.  The place we usually stop at wanted over $6 a gallon.

The soot level was over 85% when we left Las Vegas.  It stayed about that level until we were near Phoenix.  It went to 100% and a regen started while we were in Phoenix, about 50 miles from the park.  The regen was still going when we got to the freeway exit for the park.  We continued another 4 miles until it finally ended.  Then we back tracked.  The load only went down to 25% also.  That's the second time a regen was going on at the end of a long drive just as we get to the park.  CRAP.

There was no one working at the park even though it was 2:30.  Ellen knew we had a reservation, but she didn't have the number.  Also, there was no map of the park.  We spent some time looking for someone to talk to, no luck.  Finally we decided to go to the campsite Ellen thought was the right one.

The campground is big, with several roads.  With no map it wasn't fun finding the site.  All of the hookups are on the door side, so it took me took go arounds to position the trailer.  Eventually we got hooked up and settled in.

I did a little surfing and then sat down for videos, which turned into a nap.

Ellen fixed chicken and rice for dinner.  After dinner it was more videos.

Ellen says the showers suck.  I'm about to find out.

Saturday, October 15, 2022

Day 2515

I woke up a little after 8 and played games until almost 10.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  The cats were not happy.  My leg had woken me up at 5.  I was in such pain that I got up and took some pills.  Weirdly my leg didn't hurt at all when I got up.  Maybe the drugs were still active.

I really lacked any kind of ambition.  I spent hours watching videos.  Eventually that got old.  Also, I needed to get gas and milk for tomorrow.  We left and went to a 7-11 we saw yesterday.  It's diesel price was 30 cents cheaper than anywhere else.  Some places were charging 70 cents more.

After that we decided to go to the casino across the freeway.  It had an aquarium we wanted to see.  When we got there we found that there was a Halloween car meet going on.  The parking lot was filled with expensive custom cars decorated for Halloween.  There was also a stage for bands.

There were some incredible cars there.  They ranged from beautiful restorations to hopped up late model cars to rat rods.  There were also a lot of Mexican jumping cars and a whole collection of finned Cadillacs.  All the car owners had bowls of candy for the kids, who were dressed in Halloween costumes.  It was great.

We looked at the cars for quite a while.  We hadn't had lunch, so then we went over to the casino and had lunch.  We also put $20 or so into slot machines.

We did see the aquarium.  They put on two shows.  One was a "mermaid" who swam around with the fish.  She needed to lose a few pounds.  The second was a diver who fed the sting rays by hand.  There were lots of other fish around to gobble up the food if the sting ray missed it.

We went ome about 6.  I backed the truck up to get it lined up to connect tomorrow.  Then I drained the tanks.  We put a bunch of sensor cleaner in the black tank.  We'll see if it works.

The rest of the evening was videos.  I'll pack up the Star Link tomorrow.  It doesn't take long.  We had snacks instead of dinner.

Day 2514

I woke up at 9, played games, did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  I called PEC and had them turn off the light in the cul-de-sac.  After that it was a little surfing before we went to the strip.  We parked at the LINQ, it was open again.  It also cost $18.

I took a couple of pills before we left.  That helped with the leg.  We stopped at the Flamingo and looked at the birds, turtles, and fish.  The we crossed to Caesar's palace to look for a birthday present for Vicki.  I got a mojito, it really helped with the pain.  We didn't find a present though.  We did have a good, and very expensive, lunch there.

We decided to buy Vicki some chocolate from the shop at the Belagio.  We walked over there and went to the shop.  It no longer serves chocolate, only pastries and ice cream.  We walked a little more and found a shop that sold Belagio branded chocolate.  We bought her a box of chocolates and a package of chocolate bars.

After that we walked back to the truck.  I was hot, tired, and a little sore by the time we got there.  There was a little traffic on the way home, but it wasn't bad.

We surfed for a short while and then took showers and changed clothes.  Then we drove to the Mandalay Bay.  Luckily the parking garage there just fits the truck.  We were an hour early, so we sat in a bar near the restaurant.  Everyone met at the restaurant at 7.  There were Patty, Vicki, Eric, and his wife.

The dinner was great, and very expensive.  I'm sure the bill was more then $400, probably near $500.  Patty paid for it.  We had a great time talking.  Eric told work stories and I added some other stories.

After dinner we went back to the bar we'd been at earlier.  We talked for 90 minutes or so an played with an AI picture generation app that Eric had on his phone.  Then we broke up and went our separate ways.

Going home was quick.  When we got there we fed the cats their treats and went to bed.

Thursday, October 13, 2022

Day 2513

I woke up at 8, played games, and got up to do the pet stuff and have breakfast.  After breakfast we pretty much decided to do nothing.  So we just surfed.

About noon we decided to walk around the park.  It was 90 degrees, but comfortable.  The place is huge.  By the time we were halfway around it we were tired.  We stopped at the clubhouse and bought some drinks.  We drank them in the lobby and surfed.  We didn't feel like just sitting in the trailer.

Eventually we went back to the trailer.  I started looking at videos and fell asleep.  I woke up at 3 and had a very late lunch.  Then it was more videos.

After we fed the cats at 5 we went to the grocery store.  We needed the usual - orange juice, bananas, bread, etc.

When we got back it was more videos.  There was no dinner, just some snacks.

Lee called.  They've turned on the light at the cul-de-sac.  It lights up our whole place.  I'm not happy.  I'll be calling them to have them turn it off.

Tomorrow we'll do some casino stuff and have dinner with Patty at Mandalay Bay.

Wednesday, October 12, 2022

Day 2512

I woke up at 8, got up, did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  That turned out to be a mistake.  I'd forgotten about the time difference, which means I got up a lot earlier than I had to.  I went outside anyway and started the hook up activities.

I lined up the truck and raised the jacks.  I also put the Star Link away.  After that there wasn't anything more to do because it was over an hour before we could leave.  I went back inside and played games for over an hour.  Then I went back out to finish hooking up.

After we were hooked up I torqued up the lug nuts.  I'm glad I did.  Almost all of them were loose.  Some of them were 1/2 turn or more loose.  I'll probably do it again when we leave Tucson.

The trip to Las Vegas was uneventful.  One nice thing was that there was no backup in either direction at the Arizona bridge.  There was a miles long backup north bound a few miles south of it caused by repaving.  It was in the 90's when we got to Las Vegas.  We were half an hour before checkin, but we got in immediately.

It was a full setup including TV, sewer, and Star Link.  We had a good spot for the Star Link with 120 Mbs speeds.  When I was finished I was really tired.  I sat in the recliner for a little video and a nap.

There wasn't anything on the cable worth watching, even though it had several Showtime channels.  We watched videos for the afternoon and evening.

Ellen fixed BLT's for dinner.  After dinner we walked over to the clubhouse for a little while.  We picked up a couple of brochures.  Then it was back to the trailer for the rest of the night.

Day 2511

I woke up at 9.  I purposely slept in.  After some games I got up to do pet stuff and had breakfast.  Then we got the wash together and took it to the laundry.  I went back to the trailer and surfed.  My leg hadn't hurt much if at all during the night, but it was sore today.

When the laundry was done we surfed for a little while longer.  Then we went to look at trailers.  They didn't have the some of the ones that they listed on their website.  They had one.  It looked good, but it had two problems.  It was expensive and it didn't have a 110 outlet in the dinette.  That makes it hard to use the computers.

After that we went to a nearby Mickey D's for lunch.  After that we went home.  My leg was hurting, I was hot (it was 90), and looking at more trailers didn't seem to be that much fun.

When we got home it was videos until dinner time.  Dinner was leftovers.  After dinner was more videos.

We leave for Vegas tomorrow.  We haven't done much of note here, but my leg makes doing much difficult.

Day 2510

I woke up at 8, got up, did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  For the first time in a long time I didn't have any leg pain last night.  My leg felt pretty good walking on it in the morning.

I waited around surfing until the doctor video conference at 12:30.  Dr. Cox seemed fine with everything.  He told me to use the tar shampoo only every other day.  He also wants to see me when I get back about the scalp things.  I made an appointment for 11/2.

When the call was over we decided to have hotdogs for lunch rather than going out.  Then we left to go to a mini-golf place.  I had a coupon from a brochure.  It was fun, but a little hot - high 80's.  When that was done we went home.  Ellen's asshole was giving her lots of problems.  I was frustrated.  I wanted to look at RV's across the street.

The rest of the afternoon was videos.  My leg hurt and I didn't want to put it to any more use.  I've got Ellen hooked.  She even did some of the video searching.

Dinner was a frozen dinner.  Afterwards I watched a Chelsea game.  They won.

Day 2509

I got up about 9, did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  My leg hurt some last night and more this morning.  I decided not to push it today.  I surfed for a while, but I knew a day of that would be terminally boring.

I found a museum of dinosaur tracks near the next exit.  It was also near a Wally world and a Costco.  We stopped at the Wally World for coat hangers.  They were almost sold out.  We got the last two packages.  Fuck Biden.  We got water at Costco.

The museum was great.  It was built on the stone containing the tracks.  There were blocks excavated from the site also.  The area had been the muddy shore of a lake.  There were an incredible number of tracks laid down there over many millions of years.

After that we went to a Freddies hamburger place for lunch.  Then it was home.  By the time I got there I was tired and my leg was really sore.  That was even though I'd used the cane.  I'm becoming a little concerned about it.  I'm sure it's muscular though and not skeletal.

I spent the rest of the afternoon and evening looking at videos.  Ellen fixed stirfry for dinner.

Day 2508

I woke up about 8, played games, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  It was nice to sleep in a little bit, especially since I had a little leg pain last night.  It was diminished over yesterday when I got up though.

After breakfast it was a little surfing and then some videos.  I'm getting addicted to watching YouTube on the TV.  Eventually I got up enough ambition to get out the stuff to go shooting.  I decided to use the CG instead of the Perazzi.

We loaded up the truck and went to the club.  They were having a fun shoot, so we signed up.  I would have brought the Perazzi if I'd known that.  I didn't shoot very well because of the new gun.  Ellen didn't shoot well period.  We started late, so it was hot when we finished.  It wasn't bad though.

When we were done we went into Hurricane.  We stopped at O'Rielley's and ACE to look for spot remover.  Neither one had it.  Then we went to Arby's for lunch.  The final stop was a grocery store.  After that it was home.

I didn't feel like doing anything else today as I want to rest up a little.  Also my leg was beginning to hurt.  The rest of the afternoon and evening was videos, with maybe a little nap.  Dinner was food left over from lunch.

Day 2507

I woke up at 7:30, got up, did the pet stuff, had breakfast, and went outside to hook up.  It all went well even though I had to reposition the truck a little.  It still took an hour to get going though.

Traffic was a little heavy at times, but the trip through the 100 miles or so of the SLC metro area was uneventful.  The worse part was trying to figure out what lane to be in.  I was always going significantly lower then the posted speed.

We got pretty good mileage, over 11.  We stopped after going 225 miles.  The first place we stopped at didn't have card operated pumps.  We went across the freeway and filled up there.  It was a little more expensive, but so what.

The rest of the tripe went well mileage wise.  We made 12.4 mpg even though we went up and down at least 3,000 feet.

Unfortunately the truck went into regen 2 miles before we got to the RV park.  That meant we had to keep driving through St. George.  We went 11 miles and then turned around.  The route was up and down hills.  Whenever the EGT dropped below 900 or above 1200 the regen would quit.  The regen finished 1 mile after our turnoff, so we had to go 2 miles to the next.

We got off, but there was no way to get back on the highway.  There wasn't even a place to make a U turn until we were clear down the hill at the gun club turn off.  CRAP.

It was 90 degrees when we got to the park.  Setup went well though.  We even got the Star Link set up quickly.  After that I went inside and set down.  My leg had hurt last night - I had to sleep only on my back.  It also hurt whenever I was walking.  CRAP.

Ellen fixed coconut shrimp for dinner - I didn't feel like going anywhere.  After dinner was videos on the TV.  The antenna has an unobstructed view, so there was plenty of bandwidth.

Day 2506

We got up at 7:30, had breakfast, did the pet stuff and packed up to leave.  I had a pretty good night leg pain wise and my leg was feeling better in the morning.  Despite trying to hurry, we didn't leave the park until 8:30.

The trip to Baker was uneventful.  I took it easy on the curves.  We did have to wait a few minutes for construction.  We fueled up at the Shell station.  It was 70 cents cheaper than the standard station.  Then it was off on the freeway.

There wasn't any drama on the freeway.  Even the trucks were easy to deal with.  Mileage as 10.  Not bad considering it was all up hill or down hill in order to go back up.  There was no weird wear on the tires and no unscheduled bathroom stops.  All in all it was a perfect trip.  We even found a new place to get fuel that was reasonably priced and easy to access.

The only sticking point was the regen.  The truck didn't regen until 800 miles.  The entire regen was done on the highway.  When it was done the soot level was still 28%.  Last time that happened the truck threw a code on the next regen.  In the next 80 miles to Tremonton the level went up to 49%.  I'm a little concerned, we'll just have to wait and see.

We lost an hour on time zones today.  The cats were happy with the meal times.  We setup, unhooked, and went to fuel up.  When we got back I decided to wait until tomorrow to line the truck up.  I'll probably regret that.

The rest of the short evening was watching videos on the tablet.  I went to bed early to offset having to get up at what will feel like 6:30 tomorrow.

Day 2505

I woke up at 7:30, played games for a while and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After that it was a little surfing before going to Dan and Patsy's to babysit the dogs.  We stopped at the cafe first and bought some cinnamon rolls for dinner.

I left Ellen off and went back to the trailer to dump the tanks.  I gave the black tank a thorough flushing.  I couldn't do that all summer.  I think it's as empty as I can make it.  When that was done I loaded all of the extra clothes boxes into the Bronco and took them back to Dan and Patsy's.

We spent quite a while sorting through stuff.  We ended up emptying 2 large boxes of clothes into a bag for the charity in Halfway.  We ended up keeping about half a box of stuff.  None of it is going to Texas this trip.  I did load what I'd chosen earlier into the trailer.  It's officially full.

After that I went back to Dan and Patsy's.  I got Ellen and we went over to the cafe for lunch.  Then it was back to Dan and Patsy's for the rest of the afternoon.  They showed up about 3 and we talked until it was dinner time.

Patsy fixed the steak and potatoes that we'd purchased for dinner.  She added salad and bread.  It was great.  After dinner we talked some more for a while.  We left about 8 to get ready to leave.

We put the Bronco in the storage shed and put the cover on it.  Then we went to the trailer and started putting things away in preparation for leaving.  I'm going to get up at 7:30 again.  I hope to be on the road before 8:30.  We'll see.  We've got 432 miles to go tomorrow.

Day 2504

I woke up abut 7:30, played games, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  My leg didn't hurt very much at all last night.  Unfortunately it did start to hurt when I started to use it.

We took the stuff off the bed and Ellen hauled it to the laundry.  I was in no shape to do it.  We forgot to bring hangers.  Fortunately Patsy had some and we drove there to get them.  When the laundry was done we took it home and sat surfing.  Dan was still gone and Patsy was at a Bible class.

I did get the sewing machine out of the storage shed.  I wrapped it in plastic and put it in the truck bed.

Dan got back about two.  We went over and visited with him.  Patsy showed up a little later.  We spent the afternoon talking.  Patsy fixed chili dogs for dinner.  Of course they were good.

We talked some more and watched TV after dinner.  We went home about 8 because the bed wasn't made and the cats needed food.

Day 2503

I woke up abut 7:30, played games, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  My leg was killing me last night.  It's really painful today.  I took some pills.  Dan is out of town and Patsy was going to Baker, so we had to come up with our own entertainment.

I went to the storage shed.  I spent quite a while looking through all of the stuff there.  I made a couple of small piles.  One is stuff to take to Texas and the other is stuff to take to Salem next year.  Then I started the Bronco.  It started right away.  I backed it out and then closed up the shed.

I took the Bronco to the gas station and put 5 gallons in it.  Then I brought it back to the trailer.  A little after that we went to Halfway.  The plan was to get a couple of things and have lunch.

It was really fun driving the Bronco.  When we got to Halfway we stopped and got some oil for the Bronco (turns out it didn't need it) and some Stabil.  Then we went looking for a restaurant.  There aren't any open on Monday.

We stopped at the grocery and bought $75 worth of stuff.  The prices were cheaper than at the Safeway in Woodburn.  We also stooped at the crafts store there.  I found a cane - I need it.  We also got a Heron print.  The last stop was for money.  We now have plenty.

We drove back to Richland and stopped at Thorny's.  Ellen wanted some soap he sells there.  Then we went home.

I was tired, hungry, and sore.  I could barely walk.  Ellen fixed me a sandwich and I ate in the recliner.  After that it was videos on the TV and a nap.

Dinner was a salad.  I wasn't really very hungry.  After dinner was more videos.

Day 2502

We woke up at 7:30, got up to do the pet stuff, had breakfast, and then started the process of hooking up and leaving.  I was sleepy because my leg bothered me all night.  At times it was really painful.  I took two pills when I got up.

That process went well, but slowly.  We didn't leave the club until after 8:30.  We got on I5 at Woodburn at exactly 9:00.  The drive to Pendleton went smoothly.  We averaged 60 mph to the gas station there.  The average speed fell apart after that.

It took a while to fuel up.  Afterwards we got a whole 4 miles before we had to stop so Ellen could spend 20 minutes or so at the Indian casino's can.  We got another 20 miles down the road before she needed another long stop at a rest area.

When we got to Baker City we stopped at the grocery store for some things.  I walked two blocks to AutoZone to look for stuff to remove water spots.  No luck.  When I got back we walked to BiMart for the same thing.  Again no luck.  By the time we got back to the truck my leg was killing me.

The drive to Richland was great.  I took it easy on the curves - no more bent axles.  When we got to the park we'd averaged 10.3 mpg for the whole trip.  The trailer seems to pull a little better with the new axles.  The tire pressure rise was noticeably less than before.  There wasn't any undue tire wear.

I set up the trailer.  It was particularly easy, which was good because my leg was so bad I could barely walk.  When I was done I went over and put the charger on the Bronco.  The battery appeared to be fairly well charged.  I limped there and back in pain.

When I got back I sat in the recliner.  I couldn't move.  Ellen fixed bacon wrapped chicken for dinner.  I was barely able to get out of the chair to go get it.

We spent the evening watching videos on my tablet.  Ellen was too lazy to hook the TV to the MiFi.  Tomorrow I'll be insistent.

We took showers in the trailer.  Neither of us wanted to walk to the showers.

Day 2501

I woke up at 8, played games for a while, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  Last night I wasn't sure I'd be well enough to shoot today.  This morning I was sore, but not incapacitated.  Plus, I could ride in Gerry's golf cart.

I got everything out and walked to the first station.  I got there tired, but not hurting - probably because I took pills before I left.  The weather was very windy, but the temperature was perfect with no clouds.

Our squad was just Gerry and us.  We all shot very poorly.  I had a great time though, probably the most fun I've had in a long time.  We were actually the first squad in from the course.  We ate lunch with Gerry and some other long time shooting acquaintances.  We talked together for almost two hours.

Eventually everyone went off for super sporting.  We went back to the trailer and I started preparing to leave.  I spent over 2 hours doing all sorts of things.  I removed the tire covers, torqued the wheels, and filled up the tires.  I removed the water valves I use when we're parked.  I packed up the Star Link and put it in the basement.  I put the gun cart in the truck.  I charged up the rear view camera.  I even replaced the batteries in all of the compartment locks.  They all decided to go bad today.  Finally, I took the garbage to the dumpster and backed up the truck so that it will be lined up to hook up tomorrow.

After that I went back inside for surfing and TV.  I'd left DirecTV connected because I thought we might like it.  We didn't watch much though.

Dinner was leftovers.  After dinner we both took showers.  Then I went out to do the final few things.  I put away the camera charging stuff, disconnected the DirecTV, drained the tanks, and put away the tank drain hose.  All I have to do tomorrow is disconnect the water hose and put it away, connect up the trailer, stow the power hose, and take off.  I've done so much of the prework that I've decided not to get up until 7:30.
