I got up when the alarm went off. After pet stuff and breakfast I went out to do the day's activity. Today it was walk the fence. The weather was typically crappy - mid 80's in temp and humidity.
The fence is in good shape. I di have several places where I had to cut overhanging branches or branches that were growing through the fence. In on place I had to remove a tree that was growing through the fence and beginning to damage it. The tree was on the neighbor's side. It was also in a lace where they could see me if they were looking. I did it as quickly as possible.
Of course I was covered in sweat and tree crap when I was finished. So I took a shower. Then I surfed the rest of the morning an most of the afternoon away. About 3 we went to the post office. The dog didn't run because she was so beat last night after running two days in a row.
We stopped at the snow cone place. After that it was a stop at Tomlinson's for cat food and a dog treat.
In the evening we watched a movie and some TV shows.

Day 264
Today was a good day. I got u as soon as the alarm went off. After pet duties and breakfast I got out the chainsaw and strung the wire so I could cut down the tree that was laying on the back fence. The tree was on the neighbor's side of the fence and had been dead and rotten for years. The tree trunk was about 12 inches in diameter. It was held off the fence by a 6 inch branch that reached over the fence. I had to decide which it cut first. I decided to do the branch. It was a good choice.
When I cut the branch the trunk cracked a little and leaned about a foot towards the fence. I reached over and used it away from the fence. It broke off at the ground and fell away from the fence. Something I thought was going to take half an hour to an hour was done in minutes.
The dead tree also had an 8" second trunk. It was leaning towards the fence, but held up by a small tree. That wasn't going to last long term, so I reached the pole saw through the fence and cut it off as close to the ground as possible. When I cut through it was still hanging on the small tree. So I pushed it off with the pole saw. Problem solved. I finished up by throwing a couple of the broken branches back over the fence.
All in all I was done in about an hour for something that I though could have taken a big part of the morning. I was still soaked with sweat when I was done. The temp was near 80 with 90% humidity.
We surfed the rest of the morning away. I did get another squirrel, which gave Lucy an excuse to run all over the back for quite awhile. After lunch we went to an estate sale that looked really good on the web. We got there about 1:30. It had started at 9 and it looked like locusts had hit the place. Almost all of the cool stuff pictured on the web was gone. I scored though. Tucked in the corner was a compressor just like the one I keep in the trailer. It was $45 and I bought it. I've always wanted a second one. I can't believe I would ever see another one.
On the way back we stopped at the post office and ran the dog at the soccer park. She did 11 retrieves in really hot weather. She's really tired tonight and won't be doing any tomorrow.
The rest of the day was hiding out from the heat. The evening was watching a movie and a lot of TV. I tried calling Mom for the second night in a row. She didn't answer.

Day 263
I'm not sure exactly when we got up, but we didn't hurry after the alarm went off. When we did get up Taiko greeted me with a fine, large, hairball on the kitchen cowhide. He could have moved 6 inches and it would have been on the tile. I cleaned that up and did the rest of the morning stuff and breakfast.
I've decided that I should spend some time every morning doing something. Today I went out and filled up the sprayer with vinegar and salt. The salt was in a solid block that I had to break up. I went out ant sprayed a gallon of solution on the weeds near the houise in the parking area. We'll see how it goes.
It was 91 with 60% humidity when I got done. So I took a shower. Then I surfed and did some shopping until lunch. Lucy REALLY wanted to go somewhere, so after lunch we left. It was 100 out. We went to the post office and ran Lucy at the soccer field. She did 18 retrieves in the hot sun. I was impressed.
We stopped at the snow cone place on the way back. There was no one there when we got there, but there was a steady stream of people as we ate our snow cones.
I had to get some more frozen stuff for dinner, so I went to HEB while Ellen stayed at the snow cone place with the dog.
When we got home we hid out from the heat. The clouds kept gathering until it started to rain about 5. So much for my weed killing experiment. It didn't really rain hard or long, but apparently the storm was between the antenna and the satellite because the DirecTV went out. So Ellen watched Netflix.
The evening was TV and surfing.

Day 262
We did a little sleeping in and surfing this morning. I followed it up with some Minions work to add to the stuff I did yesterday. As I went out into the living room there was a squirrel raiding the bird feeders. It didn't survive the activity. When I shot it it fell off the tree and ran a short distance into some bushes. I let Lucy out. She ran a search pattern in the yard and quickly zeroed in on the squirrel. It was great to watch.
We left about 10:15 to take Lucy to the vet. It was time for her to get a blood test. When they weighed her she weighed 56.5. That's a little light. So when we went to the doggy bakery she got two donuts. We left her in the car while we went to the grocery store. The car was under a tree, so she didn't get too hot.
We ate lunch at the restaurant across from Harbor Freight. Lunch got some cookies and the pineapple from my pizza. We went home after a stop at the post office.
The rest of the day was Minions, surfing, reading, and hiding out from the heat.
In the evening I watched the gun shows.

Day 261
Today was almost totally uneventful. We slept in. When we got up we just surfed and read for the whole day. The temp was a little lower than it has been, as was the humidity. For some reason it felt worse than it has been. Who knows. We just hid out inside.
Ellen filled up the bird feeders yesterday for the first time in weeks. The birds found it immediately. A squirrel found out today. unfortunately for the squirrel, it was a fatal discovery.
That was the sum total of the day.

Day 260
I stayed up late last night and slept in some in the morning. After breakfast and some surfing we left for downtown. Of course the dog couldn't come. I ha seen an ad for a toy store in the paper and wanted to go see it. Parking was easy, but it cost $7. We walked a couple of blocks to the store. It was really cool. It had a lot of neat toys that you just don't see anywhere else.
We bought a couple of small items for use, a music box for the kids, and a rabbit for Patsy.
A block from the parking garage was a farmers market. We walked through it, but didn't buy anything.
After that Ellen was tired, so we headed home. We stopped at Rudy's to get some barbecue. The last stop was the post office.
It started to rain just as we got home, 80+ degrees and raining. We hid out inside for the rest of the day.
In the evening we watched a couple of movies that I taped the last time HBO was free. They were good movies. At one point the dog went out and started chasing something behind the fence. When she came back she was covered with burrs that we had to pull oiut of her. I think both of us will have to get used to doing that.

Day 259
We slept in for a little while this morning. Not long though, as they were delivering the new chairs in the morning. After breakfast we moved both of the old chairs into the garage. It wasn't as big a pain in the ass as it could have been.
The delivery was right on time. The chairs are really nice, but I'm not sure they are as comfortable as the old ones. They didn't round the corners of the arms, but we accepted them anyway.
We surfed for a couple of hours and then took the dog to swim. We went to the pond in the Meridian development. It was the first time we'd been there. The dog did 15 retrieves and had a great time. She would have done more. It was in the low 90's and she was half dry by the time we got back to the car. She had to be on lead coming and going because the place is carpeted with sticker burrs.
After that we went to the post office. Then it was the Italian place for lunch (Lucy got treats from Tomlinson's). Then it was the snow cone place for dessert. We discovered that Lucy likes grape snow cones.
We got home about 3:30. The rest of the day/evening was surfing and TV. The chair is growing on me.

Day 258
I got out of bed as soon as the alarm went off. Then it was the standard morning things - cat box, feed the animals, and breakfast.
I was out working by 8:30. It was 80 degrees and 82% humidity. I got a lot of things done. I cleaned the haze off the inside of the car's windows. I replaced the brokedn light in the garage. I hauled out the old light and light bulbs. I cleaned the broken glass off the cul-de-sac. I cleaned the gravel off the driveway pavement. I set up support guy wires for the two middle posts in the truck shelter.
At that point I was planning on quitting after looking over what needed to be done to fix the tree that was falling over in the back yard. It was almost livable outside due to a nice breeze. So I decided to take advantage of the breeze and get rid of the problem by cutting up the tree. It was a good size tree. It took 2 hours to cut it down and dispose of the pieces. I also cut down a branch that was overhanging the house in front.
I was driping with sweat when I was done, so the first order of business when I was finished was a shower. Then it was a late lunch.
I rested for a little bit and then we went to the post office. We took the dog so she could run at the soccer fields. She did 14 really long retrieves. Then we stopped at the snow cone place on Slaughter again. I think it's going to be a regular stop.
When we got home we hid out in the house for the rest of the day. In the evening it was TV and a really long movie.
I won't be doing anything tomorrow. They are supposed to deliver our new chairs in the morning.

Day 257
Today was a pretty good day for everyone except the dog.
I woke up when the alarm went off, bt stayed in bed surfing for half an hour or so. Then I got up did the pet thing, and had breakfast. After that I went out to the garage and changed the oil on the mower. It was a fairly painless operation. After that I hauled the mower lift back to the back storage building and put ant poison all over the door that the ants are eating. Finally I hauled out the recycling and put out the garbage.
It was high 70's and 95% humidity when I started. It just got warmer while I was working. When I was finished I was soaked in sweat. So I went in and took a shower. I decided the dog needed one, too. She was getting kind of greasy.
When we were finished with that we put the pets away and left. We went to Barton Square via the post office. We wanted to get a shorter chain for the pendant Ellen bought yesterday and we wanted to get some lower cut t-shirts for her to wear with it.
Our mall trip was successful. We got a really nice chain at the second jewelry store we went to. We ate lunch at a Japanese place in the food court. All its food was freshly prepared and really good. Ellen also got three t-shirts at Nordstrom.
On the way back we stopped at a snow cone place on Slaughter. It was really good and has a nice shady area to sit and eat them at. We'll be stopping there again.
The last stop was HEB. We were getting low on TP, a critical problem.
We didn't get home until 5:30. We freed the dog and fed her. Then we read and watched TV for the rest of the evening.
About 7:30 two bunnies appeared in the back yard. I let Lucy out. When they ran away one got tangled in the fence and Lucy caught it. I told Lucy to leave it and she did. It ran away (Lucy has a soft mouth) and Lucy gave chase. It was some time before she came back. When she got back we had to pick burs off her.
The best news today was that Ellen's bag didn't start leaking.

Day 256
We got up when the alarm went off this morning because Ellen had an early doctor's appointment with the radiologist. Nothing came of it, he just asked a few questions and the said "see you in 6 months". I think he's just padding his bill.
We stopped at the yuppie grocery store and got a few things. Then I stopped at Harbor Freight to pick up the tent stakes that I keep forgetting.
We stopped at the watch repair to pick up the watch I left yesterday. Ellen saw an opal pendant she liked, so we bought it. We stopped at Wally World to look for the mosquito stuff, they didn't have it. The last stop was Costco. I bought some water, but the real reason for stopping was to see if the new card worked - it did.
After that it was home for a late lunch and hide out from the heat. Ellen went to another doctor's appointment by herself. It was just her GP.
In the evening we watched Deadliest Catch and a movie.

Day 255
This was pretty much a day of rest. I had vaguely planned to change the oil in the mower, but instead I stopped after I got the materials.
Ellen needed an new bag, so we replaced it.
I bought the filter and new oil at the mower shop on 290. Then we went to pick up the mail. The dog was with us, so she got to run at the soccer field. She did 15 retrieves in the hot weather. I was proud of her.
I stopped at the watch repair place to leave off my Citizen. The pins keep falling out of the watchband. I'm going to lose it if I don't get it fixed.
I really felt like a beer, so we had lunch at the NW beer place.
I really didn't feel like working on the mower in the hot, so I didn't. Instead we just hid out in the hot sun. Ellen had a blowout in the evening, so we had to replace the bag. The bag hadn't even gone 12 hours. I'm pissed. The only bags we have left are small and don't seal well. Plus, we wouldn't have these problems if the surgeon had done the ostomy correctly.

Day 254
I got up as soon as the alarm went off. After feeding the animals and breakfast I went out to mow the lawn. It took about 4 hours to mow the lawn. I had two delays. First, the belt came off. I had to get the mower lift out of the back shed to fix it. I bent the gard to try to keep it from happening again. I also made it a point to really slow down the engine before engaging or disengaging the blades. One of the two must have worked, because I didn't have any more trouble.
About halfway through the oil light started blinking. Crap. I went inside and looked up the manual on the web. It turns out that when the hour meter reaches 150, the oil light blinks until 152. That tells you to change it. I probably will in the next few days.
It sure is nice to have the whole place mowed. It's a great feeling.
After a shower and lunch I just surfed for awhile. Then we went to HEB to buy a couple of items. It was really just to get out of the house. It was cooler today, only 95. We took the dog, but Ellen had to stay with her. It's much cooler tonight. 75 at 11:00.
The rest of the evening was reading and TV. I've kind of given the internet a rest because of all the anti-gun crap generated by the shootings in Orlando.

Day 253
I got out of bed as soon as the alarm went off. I fed the animals and ate breakfast. Then I went out to finish the trimming. I wanted to get it done early, so we could go to some get together at 10:30. I barely made it. The reason was that I ran out of line. I had some in the garage, but it took some time to install it in the trimmer. Later I had to take it apart to clear grass out of it so that it would let out more line. I did get finished in time to take a shower and be ready to leave by 10:20.
Even though it was early, it was still in the 80's and really humid. It feels really good to have that part of the job done. I prepared for mowing by putting the mower battery on a charger and the gas can in the truck.
We went to the ceremony. It was some sort of Boy Scout thing dedicating a plaques at the North Madrone entrance. We didn't bother to stop. Instead we went to the post office and the Donut Palace. We got some really good egg and bacon croissants. Then we stopped at Home Depot and Lowe's. Neither one had the right kind of trimmer string.
It was only noon when we got home. I ordered the string on Amazon. Then I did some surfing and reading. It got up to 103 today, so we just hid out from the heat. I think we're going to do a lot of that over the next few months.
We spent the entire evening watching TV.

Day 252
I didn't stay in bed when the alarm went off this morning. I got up, had breakfast, and then went out to do more edging. I spent about an hour and a half. I got more accomplished than I thought I would. I finished the front yard, the berm, and the side yard. I also got the backyard fence done as wall as around the house and deck. It was hot and humid, and by the time I got that done I was sore and tired.
I went inside and had a shower. Then I sat and surfed until I'd cooled down. After lunch we went to the post office. We ran the dog at the soccer field. She did 15 long retrieves, which was pretty impressive sine the temperature was in the high 90's.
We made a quick stop at HEB for some bananas. Ellen stayed in the car with the engine running. That doesn't do much for the mileage. On the way home I stopped at the shave ice place and bought Ellen a root beer float. She wanted one yesterday, but couldn't have one because her bag was leaking and we were going to have to replace it as soon as we got home.
The rest of the day was spent surfing and reading. It's just too hot to do anything else. In the evening we watched a couple of movies.

Day 251
It's getting to be a common occurrence. I woke up with the alarm, turned over, and went to sleep for another hour. I had to get up after that, because we needed to go to the doctor.
The appointment was at 10:15. We got there just in time in spite of the perpetual traffic jam on the Mopac. We didn't need to hurry. We sat in the waiting room for 2 hours.
The doctor said that he would schedule the reconnect surgery for the early part of July. It's a little unclear whether or not the chemo would be effective if it's started that late. We'll have to talk to the oncologist. He also said that the initial MRI had rated her cancer stage 3. That's the first we'd heard of that. We'd always thought it was stage 2. Of course the lab work after the surgery showed nothing in the lymph nodes. He seemed to indicate that that might not be conclusive.
While we were at the office Ellen's bag started to leak. That really sucks. It only lasted 14 hours or so. When we got home we changed it of course. Hopefully this is a better job.
The temperature today was near 100 with humidity above 80%. In other words it sucked. We spent the rest of the day indoors hiding out from the heat. Apparently it's going to be this way for another week.

Day 250
I woke up with the alarm today. I decided to turn over in bed for a couple of minutes before getting up. I woke up again an hour later. Oh well. After the pets and breakfast I did a little surfing. Then I decided it was time to start the yard work.
I got the edger out and started edging. I did the everything the I could reach with a 100 ft cord connected to the yard light pole. I did 100 feet up the right side of the driveway. I also did all of the are around the truck cover and the basketball court. I also did part of the edging of the middle yard. I didn't have the cord to do all of it. Finally I did all of the edging for the area by the well house. It took an hour and a half and I was dirty, hot, and sweaty by the time I was done. I figure I didn't get more than 1/3 of the edging done though.
After that I went inside, took a shower, and had lunch. I spent the rest of the day surfing, watching TV and reading. The only time I left the house was to take the dog to get the mail.
About 5 I decided to go get some dinner and go to the post office. I waited until 6 to avoid the traffic. We picked up dinner at Dave's pizza and got a brush for Taiko next door. I was right, the traffic was gone.
In the evening Ellen's bag started leaking, so we changed it. I wanted to wait until after going to the doctor tomorrow, but it wasn't to be.
The evening was mainly TV.

Day 249
I didn't do anything with Minions today, the only thing I can do is a party and I'm not interested in that right now. That didn't mean I didn't stay in bed when the alarm went off. I just played minesweeper and surfed instead.
After an hour or so I got up. It's wash day. I started it, but Ellen took it over. It was in the 90's with the humidity in the 90's also. So we didn't do anything all day except stay inside and hide from the heat.
About 3 Ellen decided we needed to go to the post office. So we did. We took the dog. We ran her at the soccer fields. She did 15 really long retrieves. I was really impressed. We stopped at HEB on the way home. Ellen stayed in the car with the dog.
The rest of the afternoon and evening was spent reading, surfing, and watching TV. It's 11 right now. The temperature is 79 with 82% humidity. I'm going to hate this summer.

Day 248
I woke up with the alarm. I was limited in Minions by lack of party points. I did a concert. The only thing I can do now is a party.
After breakfast and some surfing we went off to do some errands. We left the dog at home because it was almost 90 at 10:00. Later in the day it got up to 95.
We stopped at the post office. The last two packages I had ordered were there. Then we went to Academy. We both wanted to get some more lightweight shirts because of the heat. I got lucky. I got two shirts and a pair of shorts. They were all on sale. The next stop was Randall's. Ellen wanted to get some cereal.
We went across the street and got some money. Then we ate lunch at Cheddar's. The last two stops were the toy store and the cookie store. Ellen wanted some peanut butter cookies and they had some without nuts.
After that we went home and hid out from the heat. It was so hot that I didn't even take Lucy to the mailbox. It's 10:00 nw and it's 82 degrees with 80% humidity. That's about the same as it was when we got up this morning.
This weather thoroughly sucks.

Day 247
I woke up today and started another Minion machine build. I got a little done and then it was time to put it down while some items built. So I started surfing and learned that some rag head asshole killed 50 queers in a nightclub in Florida. Of course The gun control nuts immediately started foaming at the mouth. I quit reading the news, I couldn't stand it.
I got up, did the morning chores, and had breakfast. Then I surfed until 11. That's when the estate sale I went to Friday opened. I wanted to get a bed frame if it was still there. I took the dog and Ellen and went there. The bed frame had been sold. No big loss.
We made a quick stop at the Dripping Springs HEB. We couldn't stay long because of the heat and the dog. Then we took the dog over to the soccer fields. She did 13 long retrieves (the wind was blowing). That was pretty good considering how hot it was.
We stopped at Dairy Queen on the way home for lunch.
When we got home I surfed some more, but I stayed away from the news sights. Apparently this has set off panic buying in earnest.
After dinner we tried to watch TV, but there wasn't anything on. I read the paper for awhile. Then we watched Zombieland. We started watching it on the TV, but soon switched to the Blu-ray. After that it was bedtime.

Day 246
I suffered from serious sleepiness today. I woke up at the alarm, but then fell half asleep again. I finally woke up enough to do a little Minions. I finally got up about 9:30. I took care of the pets, had breakfast, and then did a little surfing. I accomplished two things. I sprayed the spiders in the entry way. Some of them ran away and some fell down on the ground. The only ones left now are the dead ones. I also painted the labels I put on the magazines yesterday with acrylic. I think it will work well.
When I was done I sat down on the couch beside Lucy and went to sleep. That was uncomfortable, so I moved to the chair and continued my nap.
Ellen woke me up a little before noon saying Dola was coming over. So I made some lunch before she showed up. Dola had another long talk with Ellen. It was medical discussion, woo-woo, and personal experiences. I surfed and didn't listen closely.
After Dola left I just continued surfing. Ellen sewed and watched TV. That was basically it for the rest of the day. I did start a Minion party and built a machine. It was just something to do to kill time.

Day 245
I got up when the alarm went off. I'm trying to make a habit of that. After all, it's an hour later than I got up when I was working.
I started working on a Minions concert. Unfortunately I screwed up and ran out of time before I had all of the items. Another concert started immediately and I did complete that. Then I got out of bed because the only thing I can do is start a party and I don't feel like doing one today.
After breakfast I went out to the garage and did battle with the flash hider for the 6.5 upper. It took some effort, but I was successful. Then I just killed time surfing. Ellen caught up on the bill paying that's fallen behind while she was in the hospital. I was glad when she transferred over the $1,444 that I've spent since she went in. Hey, that's less than 1 month's check.
An estate sale in Belterra opened at noon. So we went there. We took the dog because one of us could babysit her if necessary. The estate sale had some interesting stuff, but the only things I bought were some wasp spray, an extension cord, and some Nite-eze ties. After that we stopped at McCoy's to buy some bug spray. The big group of daddy longleg spiders by the front door is getting big enough to be worrisome. At night they spread out and cover the whole wall. They also bounce their bodies up and down in a weird way. The other night there was a scorpion on the porch ceiling hunting them.
We ate lunch at Sonic and then stopped at the post office. There was a wreck Westbound at 290 and 70. Traffic was backed up well past the post office. We ran the dog at the elementary school. She did 15 retrieves, which was pretty good for how hot it was. Lee called while we were there asking about what machines to buy. I told him I'd answer him later.
We stopped at Tomlinson's and HEB on the way back. Ellen stayed with the dog at HEB while I got the food. While I was in the store Hooch called. He wanted to know how Ellen was doing. I told him and suggested he call her because she was just waiting in the truck. He said that it looked like Intel will buy him the shotgun.
When I got home I spent more than an hour writing up a bunch of stuff for Lee about what machines to buy and what he needs to think about when he puts on a shoot.
The 6.5 magazines came today, so I got out the labeler and labelled them, the 6.8, and the 300 magazines. I need to seal the labels and then they will be done. While I got out the labeler I noticed that the water softener was totally out of salt. I put in three bags and set it to regen. I'll see what happens tomorrow.

Day 244
I got up this morning with the alarm, dealt with the animals, ate breakfast, and left for Cabelas. I screwed up and wnet to Kyle, so I was 15 minutes late getting there. There were only a few cars in the parking lot, so I thought I was OK. When I got into the store, it seemed everyone was at the gun counter. They were serving #196 when I got my number, #202.
It wasn't a long wait. I took a look at both scoes and decided to buy the more expensive one. I doubt I'll every use it to it's full capabilities.
The .22 drought is over. They had literally 100's of thousands of .22. They had Remington, Eley, CCI, Browning, and a couple of manufacturers I didn't recognize. There were at least 3 large displays. They also had a full selection of reloading stuff. I bought two boxes of .22. That should last me for quite awhile.
I stopped by the knife section because they were having an "everything is 15-25% off" sale. I ended up buying a nice Benchmade to replace the Kershaw. I like the Kershaw, but it doesn't keep an edge. The salesman said that the large Kershaw has softer steel than the smaller one. I wonder why they did that.
I spent a little over $500 in all. I thought I got some good deals.
When I got home I ran the dog in the front yard. I just didn't want to drive anymore. After that I surfed and played a little Minions until about 2:30. Then I drove to the post office and the hospital.
They gave Ellen a barium enema today (she passed) and removed the drain. They told her they were going to release her about 1. They finally released her about 6. We just sat around and waited. What more could we do.
When we got home Ellen immediately plopped herself in her chair and started watching TV. She probably won't move for the rest of the evening.

Day 243
Mentally, today was a lot better than yesterday.
I got up with the alarm and played a little Minions. I started a party. Through out the day I played a little. By mid afternoon I had constructed a machine and filled in all of the used up resources. There's nothing to do now except wait until tomorrow when the machine construction is complete.
Before I ate I went out and spread out some gravel on the worst of the muddy spots in the driveway. It turned out to be good timing (see below). I worked for a little less than an hour and was soaked with sweat by the time I was done. That's a job that can only be done in the morning.
I talked with Ellen on the phone about getting the doctors to take an interest in her. By noon no one had returned her calls.
Lucy hadn't been out for a coupe of days. So I took her with me when I went to get the mail. That meant that I would have to take her home before I went to the hospital, but that was OK. It was 94 degrees and she did 21 long retrieves. I was really happy.
It was 2 buy the time I took Lucy back. I had a quick lunch, put her in the cage, and went to the hospital. I called Ellen to say I was coming and she said that the surgeon was coming to see her.
I sat with Ellen all afternoon. The surgeon showed up about 6. He looked her stoma over and put some more medicine on it. He said that he was puzzled by the bleeding, but he didn't think it was serious. He did suggest that he do the reversal surgery before the chemo. I guess he plans on removing the drain tomorrow and maybe letting her out on Friday.
I left about 7 and ate dinner at Schlotsky's before going home (I love coupons).
When I got to 45 it started to rain. It rained heavily the rest of the way home. Luckily it was tapering off by the time I parked the car. I still got a little wet.
The new gravel did make a difference. The muddiest spots aren't there anymore. There's some more places I should do, but I'm running low on gravel.

Day 242
I got up with the alarm again today. Minions can be a great motivator. I started another machine build. I worked on it on and off today. I really didn't have to spend too much time, just babysit things as they came due. About dinner time I got it finished. The wait time will be over in the morning.
After the usual morning chores I started the wash. Then I had breakfast and did a little surfing. Then I took the receivers that I got yesterday out to the garage and put them together. It was just like everything else. The first one had a little learning curve, but the second one went together easily. That was pretty much all I accomplished today.
After the receivers were finished I went in and did a little more surfing. Then I left to go to the post office and HEB. It was hot, over 90, so the dog had to stay home.
Ellen called just as I was leaving HEB. The doctor had stopped by and patched up her stoma. Everything sounds good and she expected to go home tomorrow.
I went home, put the food away, and did some surfing. I ended up buying a SIG pistol brace. That's the first part for a pistol build. Amazingly Amazon had it for much cheaper than anywhere else with free shipping.
The rest of the evening was making the bed, folding clothes, reading, and a little TV. About 10:30 I went looking for my phone. I couldn't find it. Eventually I realized that it was in the console of the car. I went out and got it, but there weren't any messages. Then I went to the computer and Ellen had sent me a message to call her.
I called her. She had been really worried because she couldn't get a hold of me. I explained what happened. She said she had a blowout tonight with more blood. Apparently the doctor's fix today didn't work. The doctor showed up again, and doesn't know what to do. The oncologist showed up also, for moral support. He said he wold call the surgeon tomorrow. Ellen is going to call him tomorrow morning also. We need to get that guy examining her, developing a treatment plan, and implementing it.

Day 241
Once again I got up when the alarm went off. I spent a few minutes on Minions and then got up. I don't have any building to do until the parts come in, so I surfed. While I surfed I looked at the Minions store. I decided to buy the precursors for the next machine build before starting it.
About 11 I took Lucy over to Circle C. We walked around the Escarpment side to the creek. It was too high for her to swim in. The water was still a little dirty also. When we got back to the car she was covered with tiny stickers. I got about half of them off and then decided to wait until I could put her on a table.
When I got home I pulled the rest of the stickers off Lucy. It took the better part of half an hour. Then I opened the door to let her in while I picked up the seeds. Big mistake. The alarm went off because I didn't disarm it in time. Fortunately I disarmed it quickly enough that the alarm company didn't call the police.
I got a call from Ellen. The infection seems under control, but she's bleeding into her bag. We had a little fight about the way the doctors are ignoring her. I was so mad afterwards that I couldn't eat lunch.
About 3 I left for the post office and the hospital. Apparently the ostomy nurse looked at her stoma and said the stitches were bleeding. The doctor was supposed to come by after surgery to look at them. I waited until 8, but he never showed up (surprise, surprise).
While I was waiting I built another machine in Minions. A small update was made. The update fixed the payoffs on the machines, but it didn't raise the value of a gold coin or the frequency with which it appears. It did add these little advertising movies that it pays you gold to watch. I've watched several now and made about 25 gold. It's now the best way to win gold in the game.

It did add these little advertising movies that it pays you gold to watch. I've watched several now and made about 25 gold. It's now the best way to win gold in the game.

Day 240
I got up when the alarm went off even though I was late getting to bed last night. I think it was because I wanted to look at the Minions game. There wasn't much to do because I was just below the number of points needed for a party.
After the morning chores and breakfast I went out to the garage to try again to put the flash hider on. I put the upper in two vices, but I still couldn't get it timed. So I went back into the house and ordered some spacing washers.
It was nice out - 80 with a breeze. I went out on the porch to enjoy it. That lasted about 10 minutes. That's how long it took for me to get bitten twice by mosquitoes.
While I was out I noticed that the Wisteria had grown a branch across to the light at the end of the porch. The branch curled around the base of the light twice, went up the conduit, and was starting to cover the house. So I got up the clippers and gave the Wisteria a haircut. I tried not to take off too much because it shades the house. I think it looks pretty nice now.
I went over to see Ellen after that. I stopped at Wendy's on the way. A got a combo dinner that included chicken nuggets. Lucy got a couple.
I stayed at the hospital for a couple of hours. She's got a new, or at least different, infection at the abscess sight. Of course the doctor didn't come until after I left.
As I was getting to the parking lot she called. Security had called her. Some asshole had called them saying Lucy was in distress. I got there in a couple of minutes and showed them that she was fine. The car was parked in the parkade, the windows were open, and there was a breeze. Whoever called was a complete idiot. I was lucky. The were talking about calling animal control.
On the way home I came up behind a GT40. I didn't think I'd ever see one in the flesh. That car is really low.
I had started a Minions party at the hospital, so I spent the evening playing Minions. I ran out of things to do before the party was over. I'm finished surfing and now I'm watching TV

Day 239
I decided to go out to the garage this morning and build the 6.5 upper. Things started out well. I had a little trouble getting the barrel nut lined up, but that was it. Then I ran into a problem with the gas block. The set screws that came with it weren't pointed. That meant tat I couldn't line it up on the dimple. So I went off to Lowes. Ellen stayed home because she was feeling pretty bad. I told her to monitor her temperature.
The mistake was going to Lowe's. I had to wait for 3 cycles of the light at Slaughter. When I got there they didn't have the right size. Neither did Home Depot (surprise, surprise). Lucy was acting funny. At both places she just laid in the back seat when we stopped. I don't think she wanted to run today.
I finally wised up and went to McCoy's. They had what I needed (a metric set screw). I should have gone there first. It would have been a much shorter trip in both time and distance. I stopped next door at Sonic for lunch. I ate outside with the dog. The carhop gave her a cup filled with doggy cookies.
When I got hoe I continued the build. I screwed up installing the gas tube pin. The tube shifted while I was pounding it in. The pin doesn't go all the way through the gas block, but it seems solid.
The muzzle break I bought needs to be timed. It doesn't line up well with the crush washer that came with it. I'm either going to have to buy some shims, or use the breaker bar to tighten it. I'm not sure I want to put that much torque on the receiver.
When I got finished Ellen was still feeling bad. I surfed a little and then ate dinner. After dinner Ellen called the doctor. The nurse said wait until the temperature was 100.5. Ellen called again when her temp got over 100. The nurse said better come in.
So it was off to Emergency. They stuck us in a room, hooked Ellen up to IV's and a heart monitor, and had us wait for a CT scan. The results showed no problem with the abscess, but the "almost a doctor" said there were indications of a colon infection. They are keeping her overnight. Since tomorrow is Sunday, I bet she doesn't get out of there until Tuesday. I left after that while she was still in Emergency. I bet she spends all night there.

Day 238
I got up when the alarm rang today. Again I didn't get out of bed - just surfed and played some Minions. When I got up I took care of all of the morning activities and then did some more surfing and Minions. I built the "heat gun". I only got half the Minion coins that I used to get. That sucks and will really slow down my Minion advancing. The build won't complete until tomorrow.
I also did a little shopping. I got some 6.5 ammo and magazines.
Late in the morning I went out to take out the garbage and get the paper. Ellen actually came out on her own to walk part of the way up there and back. The paper wasn't there, so I filed a complaint. Ellen said she wanted to get a hamburger, so we went out. I stopped at the post office and got the mail, including some of the packages I've been waiting for. Then I ran the dog at the soccer fields. She did almost 25 retrieves even though it was partly cloudy and about 80.
The last stop was Sonic so Ellen could get her hamburger.
When I got home it was more surfing. I just wasn't motivated to do anything. In the evening we watched TV. Some heavy rain came through about 10. It was heavy enough to block the Directv signal. I switched to broadcast and watched the local news. Of course they were having kittens about the rain. We've had .8" in a little over an hour. It's tapering off now, but the TV sas that there is more coming. The weather radio just received a flash flood warning.

Day 237
It rained pretty good last night - 1.3 inches. There wasn't much thunder and lighting, just rain.
I got up this morning and started a Minions party. It was a 2 hr one, which means I spent the next 2 hours in bed working the game. I completed the requirements for a "heat gun". It didn't give me the coins I though it would. I also got most of the items I used replenished.
A little after that Dola came over. She talked to Ellen a lot about different ailments she has treated. I'm not sure what's going on here. I boght some more gun parts while they talked. A little before noon I left with the dog for Circle C. I asked Dola to make sure Ellen walked before she left.
When I got to the park the paths were closed and so was the road to the soccer fields. Slaughter creek was amazingly high. The 4 big culverts under the bridge were completely full. I walked the dog over to Escarpment. That's as far as we could go because of the water. She showed no interest in the bumper on the way over. On the way back she decided to do about 10 retrieves. It was cloudy and 70, so heat wasn't a factor.
I then went to the post office and came home. Dola was gone, and Ellen had walked. I surfed and played Minions for the rest of the afternoon.
We watched TV in the evening. The "heat gun" was finished about 10:15. I was really disappointed to find that there was no longer a reward (gold and Minions coins) when it finished. It also sucks that coins are only worth 2 now, and come very infrequently. This is going to make it much harder to promote Minions. I did get one of the next build items done and the second set up. It will be done tomorrow morning.

Day 236
I woke up again at the alarm. It was harder to do than it was yesterday. I spent a little time surfing and playing Minions, but not a lot. A new version of the game was downloaded last night. It's a lot different. There are a whole bunch of new items. Also, the characters are starting to make demands again. The bad news is that the game no longer produces bonus items or gold coins. Also the payoffs in gold and minion coins are less for the items that make up an earthquake machine. All of this means that my strategies for playing have to change drastically once again.
I spent the morning surfing. I just didn't have anything better to do. About noon we went out to the post office and to run the dog. There were a couple of packages of parts that I had ordered a couple of days ago. There's more on the way, but they won't get her for a few more days. Running the dog was a bust. It wasn't that hot, but she only did about 4 retrieves. She got into some small stickers somewhere, but they shouldn't have affected her.
I stopped at Randall's on the way home. I loaded up on frozen food of types that HEB doesn't have. Then after a quick stop at Jimmy John's we went home. I made Ellen walk from the gate again since she refused to go to the grocery store.
I did a little surfing in the afternoon and then Ellen said the bag needed changing. Shit. We got everything done, and then I forgot to take the shield off the bag before I put sealant on it. Then I tried to put it on her. That fucked everything up and we had to start all over again. Hopefully this install will last more than a day.
After that we did a little TV watching together. Then I did more surfing while Ellen watched TV. All she does is sit in the goddamn chair.
