Day 2743

We got up a little before 8.  After a short period of gaming it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  Thenn it was outside to put up the Starlink pole.

The installation went well, but it took a while.  The worst part was trying to drill a 5/8"hole when I didn't have that big a bit.  Ellen helped a little.  When that was done I repaired the straps on the couch.  I lucked out.  I found a second mount in my parts drawers so I replaced both of them instead of just the broken one.

By then it was lunch time - leftover pizza.  The sewer guy still hadn't showed up.  That meant that the whole afternoon was spent killing time on the internet.  I did a little shopping and then just surfed.

The sewer guy showed up about 4:45.  The connection he had to the sewer pipe was cracked.  That meant it leaked profusely.  It also meant that I couldn't open the valve fully.  The tank drained and I did one flush and let him go.  After that I had Ellen put 3.5 gallons of water in the tank, drained it into a bucket, and dumped the bucket where the septic tank used to be.  I did that three times.  Then I had her put 20 gallons in the tank and drained it via a hose into the same area.  The result was a tank that I think is pretty clean.

The process was made worse because the hose Ellen was sing leaked water on the bathroom floor.  As part of the cleanup I fixed it by doubling the hose washers.  The whole sewer activity took over an hour.

While I was outside Abby got a hold of my glasses.  She bent them p and ate the two nose pieces.  I'll go to Costco tomorrow to see if they have replacements.

I took a shower while Ellen fixed Salmon and rice for dinner.  Dessert was strawberry shortcake with ice cream.

After dinner was videos.  I think the pole helped some.  We usually get drop outs between about 8 and 10.  There were no dropouts tonight.

The air nailer was delivered to the club in the afternoon.  I'll pick it up tomorrow and use it to fix the trim in the trailer.

Day 2742

We got up about 7:30, did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  Then we packed the dirty clothes in the car and went to the laundromat.  We had to detour through Woodburn because some idiots had a serious crash on 99 at the south end of town.

While the wash was going I went to the hardware store and got some hardware to fix the couch hook that Abby tore out of the wall.  After that it was just surfing until the wash was done.

We had to detour through Woodburn on the way home because they hadn't cleared the wreck.  We took the wash home and got Abby.  We stopped at the post office on the way to I5.  The Starlink pole was there.  I'll put it up tomorrow while we're waiting for the sewer guy.  I also stopped at Camping World to get a sewer connection.  The final stops were Mud Bay for cat food and a sub shop for lunch.

John and Patty really liked Abby.  Their dogs did not.  We ended up having to separate them.  We had a fun time catching up and talking.  John fixed hamburgers for dinner.  After that we watched a Mariners game and pestered Vicki because they were losing badly.

We left about 8:30.  Abby whined all the way home.  We thought she had to shit, but she didn't when we got home.

We put the clothes away, made the bed, did a little surfing, and went to bed.

Day 2741

We woke up about 8, played games for a little while, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  The weather was a little cool, but I decided it was time to gt some chores done.

I was planning on repositioning the camera and phone antenna on the ladder.  I thought that would be necessary before I installed the Starlink post.  After looking at it I decided to wait until I have the post I may not have to move anything.

The next task was repairing the soap holder in the kitchen sink.  One of the hooks holding it has been broken for quite a while.  It took a while to get the old hooks off and the side of the sink cleaned.  I was really careful to install the new hooks so that the holder is really stable.  I think the result came out well.

After that I started redoing the front trailer compartment.  I took everything out and vacuumed it.  The bottom was covered with leaves and also some gravel.  Then I sorted everything.  There was a fair amount of unnecessary stuff.  I put that in the shed.  I put everything else back in the compartment.  I rearranged some of it to make things more tidy.  I still have to get a plastic box for some of the stuff.

I was also going to lubricate the slides and slide seals.  It was getting hot though, so I left it for another day.  We went to Woodburn instead for lunch and groceries.

When we got back it was videos land a nap.  I did get a hold of Patty.  We'll go see them tomorrow after we do the wash.

Ellen fixed steak and potatoes for dinner.  After dinner was walking Abby around the club followed by videos.

Two not optimal things happened.  First I found that I didn't have to buy hooks for the sink holder.  I already had them in the shed.  I can't remember shit.  Secondly the toilet sprayer nozzle is broken.  I won't be able to get a new part before Wednesday.  I won't be able to get a clear spacer either.

Day 2740

We actually got to sleep until 8 today.  After that it was games until time for pet stuff and breakfast.  The factory stores were open at 10, so we timed it so we were there just after that.

We spent hours at the stores.  The ostensible reason was so Ellen could get shoes.  We did that.  Because the store had a buy one, get one half off I got a pair too even though I didn't need them.  Then we walked pat every store in the place.  We ended up buying a shirt for Ellen's sister (Christmas) and some low rise socks for me.  We also got Ellen a new purse at Coach.  It was having a 50% off sale.  After lunch at the Thai place we went home about 2.

I was tired when we got home.  I surfed a little and then took a nap in the bedroom.  I couldn't sleep in the recliner because the dog continually jumped on me.

Dinner was a cheese sandwich.  We don't have any more meat.

After dinner we took Abby for a walk around the club.  She did a lot better on the check cord.  It's a lot of work controlling the cord though.

After the walk it was videos.

Saturday, May 27, 2023

Day 2739

The dog alarm went off at 7:30.  We played games until 9:30.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  It was raining.

After breakfast we surfed due to the weather.  I planned to use an Ebay gift card to buy a motor combo for the next car.  Just before I ordered it I got an email from Amain.  It gave me a code for a bigger discount on the combo than the gift card was worth.  So I ordered it from them.  I also used a Amazon gift card to partially pay for the car.  For some reason Ellen got pissed that I was spending money.  I have no clue why.

Eventually it dried out and we started to walk Abby.  Ellen absolutely refused to agree on the dog commands.  I got pissed and left them.

While they were gone I watched build videos on the car I ordered.  I got some good info.  I also started looking for the other parts I'll need.  That search went on off and on for the rest of the day.  I didn't buy anything though.

Lunch was a sandwich.  We bought some salami at the Sisters meat store.  It's great.

After lunch was back to research on the new car.  Abby developed vomiting and diarrhea, probably from something she ate on the walk.  She was fine during the morning.  Ellen spent a lot of time with her outside.  Eventually she got better and seemed fine after dinner.

Ell want didn't want to cook, so I went to the post office to pick up packages and Dollar General to get a pizza.  I had to fill p the car tires first.  They were all at 24 PSI.  After dinner I dumped the tanks.

I finally got sick of shopping and started to listen to sci-fi.  I'm a little tired of Ukraine.

Day 2738

We woke up before 8 today.  The dog seems to be the new alarm clock.  That didn't stop us from playing games for a while before getting up for pet stuff and breakfast.

After that we put Abby on the check cord and took her around the club.  It took her a while, but she began to pick up "check cord rules".  We met Dave and his dog as we got back.  I let Abby off the cord and she ran around with Dave's dog for quite a while.

When we got back Ellen went into the trailer to deal with all of the paperwork generated by the  mail.  I did chores outside.  I put the license sticker on the trailer and washed all of the windows.   I also connected up the dump hose.  I did some other small tasks, too.

By then it was noon and time for lunch.  After lunch we picked up a package at the post office.  Then it was over to Jones Farm for some strawberries.  The next stop was the pet store for cat food.  The last stop was Freddie's for gas.

When we got home it was surfing.

Ellen fixed salmon from Schwann's for dinner.  It was great.  After dinner was a lot more surfing and a few videos.

Thursday, May 25, 2023

Day 2737

We woke up about 7:40, got up and did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  After that it was hook up.  That took a little longer than normal because I had to line up the truck.  We were on the road in a little over an hour.

The drive was OK.  We did have to stop for 10 minutes or so at a construction site.  Because I was driving conservatively I had to pull over once to let cars go by.  I was going 60 max, they were going 65 -70.

We got to the club about 11:15.  We unhooked and then I spent the next hour doing all of the stuff that's involved in setting up here - get out the long hose, connect the tri-pod, unwrap the car, cover the tires, etc. We got done at 1:40, just enough time to get to the post office and pick up a large pile of mail.

After that it was errands.  Wally World to get a new water hose.  One of the existing ones was falling apart.  We also got a few groceries.  Then it was CVS to get drugs that I'm almost out of.  Finally a pet store to get pet treats.

When we got home we went over to the club to introduce Abby.  She was a hit.  We also got some ammo, paid the club dues, and got the knife that I'd ordered last fall.  Then it was back to the trailer to feed the pets.

Dinner was leftover pizza.  After dinner Ellen watched a movie and I spent money on Amazon.

Wednesday, May 24, 2023

Day 2736

The dog woke us up early again, I'm not sure when.  Ellen too her out and came back to bed.  We played games for a while and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.

After breakfast we spent some time surfing.  We also took Abby on a long walk.  I tried to get her to do retrieves at the do park, but all she did was play keep away.  About 11:30 we drove to Tumalo to a roach coach place that we'd stopped at several years ago.  It's do friendly and has great beer and food.  It was a perfect day to sit out with Abby and eat in the sunshine.

When that was done we went back to Sisters and got a milkshake at the burger place.  We also got a few things at the grocery store.  That way we won't need to tomorrow.  Then we went home.

I surfed for a while, mainly looking for parts for the new RC car I want to build.  I also ended up taking a nap.

Ellen fixed flat steaks for dinner.  After dinner we took Abby on another walk.  Then I surfed and listened to sci-fi videos.

We have a short trip tomorrow, so I didn't even bother to position the truck for hooking up.

Day 2735

The dog woke us up at 6:40, so we decided to get up and get ready to leave.  After pet stuff, breakfast, and hooking up we were on the road by 8.

We made a stop in Baker for fuel and then headed for Sisters.  I took it easy on both the road out of Richland and the road to Sisters.  Every time a curve was marked with a speed I slowed down to no more than 5 mph over the limit.  It really didn't impact the time calculated by the GPS at all.

This is not my favorite drive.  The route contains three passes, a lot of curves, and several podunk towns with low speed limits.  I needed a "get there when we get there" attitude.  It worked.

We got to the park about 2.  We set up, fed the dog, and then took her to Sisters.  The trees make Starlink not an option.  It was a nice sunny day, not too hot.  The trip was successful.   We got a new spinner to replace the one the tree killed as well as a flamingo with googly eyes.  We also got great milkshakes ($8.50).  We also got some great steaks.

When we got back to the trailer Ellen fixed the steaks with potatoes.  After that it was some cable TV and surfing.  I went to bed early again.

Monday, May 22, 2023

Day 2734

The dog got us up about 7:30.  Ellen stayed up and did the pet stuff.  I stayed in bed and played games.  Eventually I got up for breakfast.

Dan and Patsy went to LaGrande to hear the results of Dan's MRI.  They planned to be gone the whole day. I decided to go through all of the stuff in the storage garage.  There's a lot and it took a lot of time.  I ended up with a few things that are going either to Oregon or Texas.  Its not much.

I was bored, so after that we drove to Halfway.  We knew everything was closed because it was a Monday, but there wasn't anything else to do.  We walked around for a little while and then drove back.

When we got home we put the Bronco away.  Then I drained the tanks.  After that it was videos.

Dinner was frozen pizza.  After that I brought the truck over and lined it up for hitching up.

The rest of the evening was surfing.

Dan called us about 8.  He's MRI came out fine.  His problems are just old age.  Patsy has big problems though.  Her back has some bad disks.  She needs immediate surgery to avoid paralysis and a wheelchair.

Day 2733

The dog woke us up a little after 6.  There wasn't a question of getting back to sleep.  The store in Baker didn't open until 10, so it was a choice of surfing or games.  I chose games.  Eventually it was get up for pet stuff and breakfast.

We took the Bronco to Baker.  It drove great.  I'm making a list of things to get fixed on it.  We bought the pressure washer for Dan (same as we got in Caldwell) and a couple of lawn chairs that Ellen saw at the festival. Then we came back to Richland.

Dan and Patsy weren't done with church, so we went back to the trailer.  We ate lunch and surfed.  About 2 we went to there place.  We talked, had dinner (Patsy fixed steaks), and watched a thunderstorm over the mountains from the porch.

After dinner and more talking we went home to give the pets a really late dinner.  After some videos I went to bed early.  I was tired.

Saturday, May 20, 2023

Day 2732

I woke up at 7 and played games for quite a while.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  At 9 we went to Dan and Patsy's house.  Ellen played with the dogs while Patsy and I set up a sign for bingo.

After that we took a ride around the area.  We looked at both campgrounds.  They were full.  The water was as high as we've ever seen it, so the boat launches were pretty amazing.  We also drove out on Snake River Road.  Where Eagle Creek and the Powder connect everything is flooded.  The water reached all the way to the road.

Ellen needed to meet Dan at the festival at 1.  She was going to a singalong that they were having there.  I sat listening to the music and surfing.  Of course Abby was a hit again.  When Dan and Ellen were done we all sat at a picnic bench and had a late lunch.  Dan got to talking about his troubles.  They are considerable.

His health is not good.  He's suffering from dementia.  After a dementia test the doctor gave him 5 to 10 years.  Nephropathy now reaches all the way to his neck.  He has mental lapses that cause him to momentarily loose mental faculties.  He gets the results of a MRI about that on Monday.  On top of that Patsy says she doesn't love him any more and wants to go live in Atlanta.  He's too nice a guy to have this all happen to him.

Patsy came over for a while and we visited with her and some of their friends.  About 5 we went back to the trailer to feed the pets.  At 6 we went to New Bridge.  Ellen went with Dan to the church for some singing thing.  I went next door to play bingo.  I didn't win anything.

Dan took Ellen back to the trailer when they were done.  I got back after 9.

The rest of the evening was videos and games.

Friday, May 19, 2023

Day 2731

I woke up a little before 8.  I played games while Ellen did the pet stuff.  Eventually I got up for breakfast.

After a little surfing we decided to o to Halfway to pick up bacon.  We took the do with us.  She really liked it.  We met Sue while I was getting out the Bronco.  She told us that she'd give us tickets to the music festival.

When we stopped at the grocery in Halfway they didn't have any bacon.  In fact they didn't have any meat at all.  We did pick up some packaged meat that Ellen thought Patsy would like.  We also got a jug for yard art and some money at the bank.

We went back to Richland and put the dog in the trailer.  Then we went to the cafe for lunch.  After that we went back to pick up the do and go see Dan.  Patsy was in Baker.

We spent until 3:30 talking with Dan.  Abby had a fun time cruising around the property.  She even seemed to make friends with Lady Bud.  Then Dan went fishing and we went to the festival.  It was hot, about 90.  We cruised through all of the vendors, but didn't buy anything.  Then we got out the lawn chairs and listened to the music.  It was really good, but we sat back because it was loud.

We left about 6, before the last act.

Dinner was frozen pizza.  After dinner was surfing and videos.

Thursday, May 18, 2023

Day 2730

I woke up at 8, got up and did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  Then I did a little surfing.  I'd forgotten that 8 out time was 7 Richland time.

Eventually we started to pack up.  We left after 9:30.  The trip was uneventful.  The only possible downside is that the truck is at 95% soot level.  I drove the last 20 miles at the speed limit.  I don't want any more bent axles.

The Powder river is fuller than we've ever seen it.  It's up to it's banks everywhere and has flooded a little bit in some places.

When we got to Richland we set up.  I went to the storage area and put the Bronco on the charger.  Then we went to the cafe for lunch.  The music festival starts tomorrow and it will probably be crowded there.  We also stopped at a new ice cream shop in town.  It was good.

We back to the trailer and got Abby to take her to Mitchell's.  She had a lot of fun, but Dan's two dogs weren't very interested in her.  We talked with Patsy for a while.  Later Dan showed up and we talked some more.  Dan has to get MRI results on Monday.  He's worried.

Dan left with his dogs and Patsy went to a 5:00 meeting.  We went back to the trailer and fed the pets.  At 6 I took Ellen to the New Bridge church so she could help with their sound system.  I'm too deaf to help.  I went home and surfed.

Ellen came home before 8.  I took a shower and went to bed a little after 8.  I was tired.

Abby did a great thing just after treat time.  She started bounding towards the door getting chocked by her chain.  I got the message and took her out.  She had two pisses and a shit.

Wednesday, May 17, 2023

Day 2729

I woke up about 8 and played games for a long time.  That left Ellen to do the pet stuff.  Then I got up for breakfast.  After breakfast it was surfing.

I realized that we needed to buy water.  Tomorrow we get to Oregon.  That means a 10 cent per bottle charge.  We drove to Costco and bought two cases of water.  We also bought some DEF and some meat and chicken for Patsy.

When we got home we took the dog over to the store across the street.  We got her a control halter because she was always getting out of the rope one.  Taking her allowed us to take one out of the box and make sure it fit her.  I also found a cool folding bucket to replace the plastic one I use now.

After that we went back to the trailer for lunch.  After lunch I did some research on a new RC car as well as a lot of surfing.

Ellen fixed Korean beef and rice for dinner.

After dinner we found Abby had chewed the leash we tie her with in half.  I went back over to the store and bought some wire rope and two latches.  Then I made up a custom length dog tie out that she can't chew through.

We also took Abby on a walk to try out her new halter.  It works well, but she was not amused.

Tuesday, May 16, 2023

Day 2728

We woke up a little before 8, played games for a while, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After that I got out the shooting stuff and Ellen went to do the wash.

It turns out that the club doesn't open until 4.  That meant that we had all of the morning and most of the afternoon to do nothing.  That's what we did.  There was a lot of game playing and some video watching.

We did take the do for a walk around the park.  We met a Schwan's truck on the way.  We bought about $100 worth of stuff - key lime pie, scallops, salmon, and some doggy ice cream cups.  When we got back to the trailer I gave Abby one of the cups.  She loved it.

We left for the club just in time to make it when they opened.  They've really improved the place since we were there last.  There's a tower and the stations are much nicer.  We had a great time shooting.  I'm lad we went early.  By the time we were finished it was quite busy.

We fueled up on the way back.  We also stopped at Albertson's to pick up some cheese that we forgot yesterday.  Then it was home for a late dinner - the scallops.

I am a little tired of YouTube, so I spent most of the evening playing games.

Monday, May 15, 2023

Day 2727

We woke up at 7, did the pet stuff, had breakfast, packed everything up and were on the road a little after 8.

Just like yesterday the mileage started out bad during to a lot of hill climbing.  It evened out though and eventually got really good - 12.2.  That allowed me to go the whole 300 miles, including a regen, without having to worry about fuel.  The regen only went down to 20% ash, I'd have liked it to go down at least another 5%.

We listened to  book on tape most of the way.  There was a little bit of traffic in Boise, but nothing serious.

We got to the park a little bit after 1.  We set up and then went to the huge store across the street.  It was part Lowe's, part ACE, and part Sportsman's Warehouse.  It was also DeWalt heaven with 4 aisles stacked with DeWalt stuff.  I bought a pressure washer for $150.  It included a 5 AH battery worth $75.

We also went to Albertson's to prepare for the next stop - Richland.

When we got back I noticed that one of the hanging kitchen lights had gone out.  I took the fixture down and found a wire had come loose from a crimp connection.  It was one of theirs, not one of mine.  Fishing the wire out of the ceiling to fix it was a pain in the ass.

The rest of the day was surfing and videos.  Ellen fixed baked potatoes for dinner.

Sunday, May 14, 2023

Day 2726

We woke up at 7, did the pet stuff, had breakfast, packed everything up and were on the road a little after 8.

We got terrible mileage on the climb out of St. George.  It goes up to 6,600 ft and we had a head wind.  After we got to the summit things improved.  Overall we got 10.3 to the gas stop at 250 miles.  We got 13 for the rest of the trip due to a tailwind.

The drive was just a long freeway trip.  At least the scenery was really great until we got near Provo.  There's still an amazing amount of snow on the mountains.  We did got through a heavy rainstorm at one point.  I haven't done much trailer haling in the rain.  Things went well though.

It's Sunday, so going through Salt Lake City wasn't very stressful.  It's just 60 miles of somewhat dense traffic.

The only notable thing is that the truck is about to do a regen.  It had 95% soot when we got to the park.  That means that we'll do a regen early tomorrow.  That's great timing.

I ate lunch after we set up about 3.  After that I cleaned the AC filters and then sat down for videos.

The dog is doing much better.  She shit twice today and they were both solid.

All in all it was a nice day.

Saturday, May 13, 2023

Day 2725

We woke up about 8 and played games for a while.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  When Ellen took Abby out the dog had bloody diarrhea.  So much for a trip to Gunlock falls.  Instead it was a trip to the emergency dog clinic.

We got in about noon.  They did a bunch of tests and determined that it was a bacterial infection.  They gave us some antibiotics.  We were out of there about 1.  That gave us time to go to the falls.

The falls were great, just like in the video we saw.  There was lots of water running through the rocks.  There were also a lot of people, probably because it was Saturday.  There were even some dogs, including a couple of pit bulls owned by illegal assholes.  Of course everyone loved Abby.  We had to stop several times to let Abby get petting.  The first time was just after we left the truck.

We had a good time at the falls, but it was tiring with a lot of climbing on sand and sand covered rocks.  Abby did great.  I even got her to drink out of the river and dip a couple of feet in it.  She also let me water her down a couple of times.

We got home about 4.  We put the dog in the trailer and went to the bear restaurant.  We hadn't had lunch, so we were hungry.  When we were done we filled up the truck and went home.  I dumped the tanks.  It was 6:30 before I got a chance to sit in the recliner and watch videos.  That's pretty much what I did for the rest of the evening.

Friday, May 12, 2023

Day 2724

We woke p about 8 and played games for a while.  Ten it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  Unfortunately Abby's diarrhea continues.  She woke Ellen up at 3 AM.

We were going to go to the falls today.  However, Abby was obviously not feeling well.  We decided to stay home with her instead.  I decided to screw the I bolt I'd purchased into the base of the back cabinet.  Connecting a leash to it made a really convenient thing to tie Abby to.  That way she doesn't have to sit in the bin all of the time.

After that there wasn't really a lot to do today.  We did go out for a little while to get some groceries, have lunch, and buy another leash for the dog (she also got a toy and some cookies).  We made it a short trip.

When we got home Ellen started watching movies.  I got out some earphomes and started listening to science fiction on the computer.

Dinner was a frozen dinner.

After dinner I called Hooch.  We talked for quite a while about dog training.  The upshot is that I think Abby will go to Spokane in June for her first training.

After dinner was more movies for Ellen and scifi for me.  Perhaps Abby will be feeling better tomorrow.

Thursday, May 11, 2023

Day 2723

We woke up about 8, but dint get up until 10.  Basically we're living on Pacific time instead of Mountain time.  When we did get up it was pet stuff and breakfast.  When that was done we loaded up the truck and went to the club.

It was a little cooler than yesterday, which was nice.  Unfortunately only the easy course was open.  I'd been thinking about bringing the 20 ga.  I wish I had.  We had fun though.  We had the place to ourselves except for one other pair of guys.

When we were done we went to Ace in Hurricane to get an eye bolt to tie Abby to.  We also bought a case of Federals for $90.  We stopped at Arby's for lunch.   The truck went into regen just as we got to the freeway.  We drove 15 miles north and then turned around.  It completed wit 14% ash on the way back.  That had dropped to 13% by the time we got home.

We put DEF in the truck and took Abby out.  She had diarrhea again, probably from the shot.  Ellen fixed BLT's for dinner.  After dinner it was videos.

Wednesday, May 10, 2023

Day 2722

We got up a little before 9, did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  Then it was load up the truck and go to the club.

It was nice and sunny, but not too hot.  We got a cart and started driving around the "hard" course.  There were a couple of challenging stations, but most were pretty doable.  Ellen didn't shoot very well and I did so-so.  We were lucky.  As we were finishing up a corporate group of 100 people started to show up.

After that we drove to Wally World in Hurricane.  We needed a couple of grocery items and we bought another case of shells.  From there it was home for lunch - leftover pizza.

Ellen had made an appointment at 4:30 for Abby to get shots.  Fortunately the vet was only a few miles away.  More fortunately the backup on the freeway was going the other way.  Abby got her shots and then we stopped at Sportsman's Warehouse next door.  They were expensive, just like we expected.

We took a back way home to avoid the backup on the freeway.  We fed the pets and then went to the cafe at the exit.  It was good.  As advertised there was lots of food.

The evening was spent watching videos and playing games.

Tuesday, May 9, 2023

Day 2721

I woke up about 8 and played games until 9:30.  Then it was up for pet stuff, breakfast, and laundry.  That took until a little before noon.

We sat and watched a bunch of videos on what to see in St. George.  We ended up with several.  We decided to take Abby to a local park.  It was a good choice.  They had a wonderful desert garden with a huge number of plants.  It was easy walking for Abby and introduced her to adventures.  She did fine riding to the park.  She barfed on the way back though.  Oh well.

As we were leaving we noticed a huge fire on the other side of the city.  It turned out to be a 40 acre wildfire.  It took them at least 6 hours to get it under control.

We stopped at Lowe's on the way back so I could get DEF and some glue to replace some I used yesterday.  Then we stopped at Target for paper towels, OJ, and water.  The next stop was Dutch Bros.  The last stop was Mickey D's.  We didn't have lunch, that was dinner.

I was really tired when we got home.  After feeding the animals I sat down to watch videos.  I did, in between naps.

Eventually I gave up trying to stay awake and after a shower I went to bed early.

Day 2720

We woke up about 8, got up and did the pet stuff before having breakfast.  There wasn't any point in leaving early because we were only going 120 miles.  Instead we killed time surfing.  We finally left about 10.

We did get one bit of good news.  Sue called to say that we'll have a place in Richland.

The trip was fine.  There was a strong quartering following wind.  We got almost 12 MPG.  In a couple of places it turned into a crosswind.  When it did it really pushed the trailer around.

We lost an hour to the timezone change and got in a little before 2.  The entrance road to the park is closed by construction.  We had to take the back road in - no problem.

After a really late lunch I settled in for surfing and videos.  That's when Ellen noticed that one of the lights in the kitchen was ganging from its wires.  I had to detach it from the ceiling and add locktite to the nut holding the light to its base.  Then I did the same thing to the other light.  One of its wires came loose and  had to fix that too.

The only other thing of note today is that Abby is getting used to her control lead.  She doesn't like it at all though.

Day 2719

We  woke up about 8, got up and did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  Then we took Abby for another long walk.

It was warmer today, eventually up to 90.  The park was a whole lot emptier than yesterday.  Sunday is a get up and leave day.  We walked quite a ways.  Abby was tired by the time we were done.

When we got back we put Abby in the bin and left for the strip.  We parked at the Link.  We walked to the Flamingo and looked at the animals.  Then we did a little shopping.  I bought a t-shirt and a stuffed flamingo to replace one that Cooper ate.

The other place we wanted to visit was the Coke store.  It was a mile down the strip.  We took our time.  At one place we played Audrey.  We won $25.  We actually won more, but we put the rest back into the machine.  We also stopped at P. F. Chang's for lunch.  It was great.

The walk wasn't bad, but we rapidly discovered that stairs were.  Going up was OK, but going down killed our knees.  A lot of the escalators were out of service so we took the elevators.

We finally got to the Coke store.  We bought a stuffed Coca Cola bear and a couple of Christmas ornaments.  We also stopped t Hard Rock and Ellen got a guitar.  Then we turned around and went back to the Link.

We had a little trouble with the parking ticket.  The machines at the Link wouldn't accept our ticket.  Fortunately the gates at the parking lot did.

We stopped at a grocery store on the way home.  Groceries are cheaper in Las Vegas than they are in St. George.  We didn't get home until 5:30.

We fed the cats and took the dog out.  Dinner was leftovers for Ellen and frozen pizza for me.  After that was videos.  I couldn't keep awake and fell asleep several times.  At 9 I gave up, took a shower,, and went to bed.

Day 2718

We woke up before 8 and played games for quite a while.  After that it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  Then we took Abby for a long walk just like yesterday.

Neither one of us felt like going into town.  Instead we decided to go south on Las Vegas Blvd.  We went all the way down to Camping World to look for a remote holder.  We didn't find one, but we did find a step cover we needed.

By then it was time for lunch.  We went to the M casino a little north.  It's a really nice place.  Unfortunately all of the restaurants don't open until 5.  We played an Audrey game instead and won $58.  We stopped at a bakery on the way out and had pastries.

The final stop was South Point.  We were hungry, but we decided to play a Moo game outside the entrance to Steak Burger first.  We won another $45 there.  We had a nice meal at Steak Burger and then decided to walk around the casino some more.  Ellen's asshole attacked her and she spent a lot of time in a toilet.  When she got out we both decided we were tired so we went home.

When we got home I installed the step cover.  Ellen sat on the can. Eventually we both watched videos until dinner.  That was leftovers.

After dinner it was more videos.  I tried to call hooch, but he didn't answer.  After some more videos we went to bed.

Day 2717

We woke up abort 8, played games for quite a while, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After breakfast we took Abby on a long walk around the park.

The walk took well over an hour.  We looked at trailers and Abby had a chance to meet several people and dogs.  Of course she enjoyed that.  We also took a couple of pictures of her pointing pigeons.  During the walk I came to the realization that I really didn't want to go into Las Vegas today.

When the walk was done we drove to a relatively near station to fuel up.  The price was $4.24.  That's not good, but its better than $4.50.  Then we went to Bass Pro Shop to get Ellen a glasses holder.  We also walked around the store and bought some gun cleaning supplies.

We ate at the casino and also won about $5 playing Audrey.  Then we came home.  Abby got another walk and then we did some surfing and videos.

After the pets were fed dinner we went over to the cafe.  We had appetizers and mojitos.  That turned out to be dinner.  When we got home we watched some videos.  That turned into 2+ hour naps before waking up to go to bed.

All in all it was a very successful day.

Day 2716

We woke up at 7, did the pet stuff, had breakfast, and hooked up to leave.  It all went really well.

When we left the club the ash level was 97%.  It went p to 98%, then back down to 97%.  It stayed at 97% for many miles.  Eventually it went back up and a regen began.  When it was over the level was 10%.  Yeah.

We had a tail wind, or a partial tailwind, for most of the day.  Overall we got 10.2 mpg.  That's great given the elevation changes and the regen.  Most of the drive was OK.  However I40 and 93 out of Kingman had really bad pavement.  On 93 I actually drove partially in the other lane to avoid the pavement damage.

We got to the park in Las Vegas a little before 1.  That's when the trouble began.  I pulled in wrong and had to go around.  There was an asshole blocking the pace I needed to turn at.  Because of all of the one way streets I had to drive all around the park before  got back to or spot.  It's a big park.  We needed to put two blocks on the street side tires.  They kept slipping backwards.  We finally got the trailer on them.  I unhooked and we leveled the trailer.  One of the tires on that side was off the ground.  I had to hook up again and use only 1 block.  After that we finally got set up.  It must have taken over an hour.

After we set up I took the dog for a walk around the park.  Ellen was on the can.  Abby had a good time and was tired when we got back.

It was nice and cool, low 70's.  There was a breeze and we opened up the door and windows to air the place out.  It needed it.

We spent the afternoon watching videos and surfing.  We walked over to the clubhouse before dinner, but the cafe was closed.  Ellen fixed Orange chicken instead.

We watched videos after dinner and we both fell asleep.  Some of the videos were nostalgia for the 70's and 80's.  It made me sad to realize how long ago that was and how much we've lost.  The country is full of pussies.

Day 2715

We got up at 7, did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  After that we loaded up the truck and went out to the range.

We shot one of the "mid-range" course stations.  It was too easy, so we moved to the "hard" course.  It was about a hard as a local shoot at Capital.  The weather was a little hotter than yesterday, but there was plenty of cold water on the course.  We had a pretty good time despite it being a long walk.

We were done about 10.  We drove back to the exit with Wally World at it.  I went inside and bought the cheapest 12 ga they had - 9 boxes for $93.  We also filled up with fuel at $4.49/gal.  Then it was back home.  The soot level is at 97%, so it's almost certain that we'll need a fuel stop even though Las Vegas is only 127 miles away.

The rest of the day was spent watching videos and playing with the dog.  Ellen tried to make park reservations for the rest of the trip.  We got into Sister's (good), but Richland is full (bad).  I'm not sure what we will do.

Ellen fixed steak and rice for dinner.  After dinner I went out and drained the tanks.  I filled the black tank with 20 gallons of water twice.  After that the water came out clear.

After that it was more videos.  Cooper is getting more aggressive with establishing his right to sit on my lap over Abby's.  It's fun to watch.

Day 2714

We woke up at 7, got up and did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  After that we went over to the office to check in and get some targets.  Amazingly enough I still had an old card from this place.

There were two unfortunate things.  First, they only sell targets in batches of $100.  That means that we either purchased a lot more targets than we needed, or we limited ourselves in what we shot in two days.  We chose to limit.  Secondly they wanted $120/case for game load quality ammo.

We ended up shooting 20 ga on their "intermediate" course, the only one open today.  It was OK, but nothing really exciting.  The weather was OK though.  It wasn't super hot, but water was a necessity.

When we were done it was time for laundry.  There is a laundromat on the property.  Ellen washed the clothes while I walked the dog and then played with her.  Eventually both the dog and I fell asleep.

It was lunch time when the wash was done.  We went back to In-N-Out for lunch.  There was a Big 5 next to it.  I stopped to see about ammo and some shower sandals.  They didn't have either.  They did have some cool shoes that I bought.  Their heels are designed to not collapse when you slip them on.

The next stop was CVS for drugs.  We stopped at Fry's across the street while we waited.  We also drove up to Camping World to get a TV remote holder.  They didn't have one, but said Wally World might.  We stopped there on the way back.  They didn't.

After that it was back to the trailer.  By then it was pretty hot.  We only ventured outside to walk the dog.  That had to be done several times because she has diarrhea again.  I think it's from the Costco treats.

Dinner was a frozen thing.  Ellen's asshole gave her grief all afternoon and evening, so she didn't have dinner.

After dinner was videos and an early bed time.  We were both sleepy.  Tomorrow we'll shot the "advanced" course, dump the tanks, and fuel up the truck.  Fuel here is as expensive as Tucson.

Day 2713

We woke up before 8, but it was pointless.  We only had 150 miles to o today, so we had lots of time before leaving.

We ended up not leaving until a little after 10.  We spent most of the time before that surfing.  I did do a couple of minor jobs around the trailer, nothing significant.

The trip itself was uneventful (Yeah).  Traffic was pretty bad as we got into Phoenix.  I10 had construction that restricted some lanes.  I17 was clogged with traffic.  Apparently Phoenix drivers can't maintain a constant speed even when there's no reason not to.  A partial tail wind helped with the mileage, 11 to 12.

We got to Ben Avery about 1.  We unhooked, set up, and then left to get lunch.  We ate at In-N-Out.  Then we stopped at Albertson's for some needed groceries.

After that we went back to the trailer.  I watched videos for a little while and went to sleep.  For some reason I'm really sleepy today.  I'm going to go to bed early.

Dinner was leftover Chinese food.  After dinner was videos and some surfing.
