Day 1649

I woke up at 8 today and turned over to sleep for another half hour.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.  I did a little surfing and then went out to install the tailgate lights in the truck.

The install was typical for that kind of thing.  The tasks were easy once you figured out how to do them.  For example, I had to take off four plastic panels.  It took awhile to figure out how to remove one without damaging it or the truck.  After getting the first off, the rest were a piece of cake.

I had to disconnect one wire connector.  It wasn't fun.  Fortunately the new wiring harness had the same connectors.  That allowed me to connect on that wasn't hidden back in the tailgate.  The connector has a safety.  I recognized that immediately.  What I didn't know was that with the safety off the connector is still latched.  You have to bend the connector to one side while pulling on it to get it off.  To do it in the truck I had to bend the back of the connector using a screwdriver while hitting it with a small hammer to get it off.

After that the rest of the job was easy.  The lights work and look neat.  I wonder if I'll ever actually use them.  They are only usable when the tailgate step is down and you turn them one via a switch in the cab.

When I went back inside I asked Ellen whether the Audi guy had contacted her.  She said "oh yeah, the car's ready, I forgot to tell you".  So we got in the truck and went to the dealership.  Apparently the fix involved tracing a fault in the wiring harness that require disassembly of the passenger side of the dash and removal of the rear seat.  I'm sure glad it's under warranty.

I stopped at the donut place on the way home for another bacon croissant.  I liked the one we got on Thursday.  After that it was surfing.  Surfing got old, so I played games for awhile.  The people I'm playing against are kicking my ass.

Surfing got boring as usual, so I went back to working on the Lego shovel.  The current step is beginning to build the house on top of the crawler base.  I did my usual - work until it started to feel like work.  When I was finished with that it was a little TV and reading.

I took Lucy to the mailbox.  She did a little better than usual.  There was a package at the gate.  The one I was expecting has been delayed.  This was another one that was schedule for next week.  I guess it all balances out.

Ellen fixed Rudy's sausages and hash browns for dinner.  Of course they were good.  After dinner was game playing, reading, and a movie.

Day 1648

I woke up at 8, got up, and did the pet stuff and breakfast.  It was early, so I spent about an hour surfing and listening to a youtube interview.  After that we went to the dealership to get the parts I ordered.  We took Lucy even though it was warm.  That's because it's easy to leave the truck open, but still secure.

We got the parts.  Luckily I looked in the box before leaving.  There weren't any assembly instructions, just a note saying "get them from GM".  So I went back in and the parts guys printed them out for me.  We made a brief stop at the pet store on the home.  Also the post office.

We had lunch when we got home.  I had a brisket sandwich.  I had to get out the ham though because Devon doesn't like brisket.  After that I did a little more surfing before starting some Lego.

I got the base of the crane done.  Unfortunately I can't test it because the phone app that controls it requires the whole thing to be built.

I took Lucy to the mailbox.  She did pretty good.  Ellen fixed sloppy joe's for dinner.  After dinner it was TV and games.  I got tired of both about 9, so it was back to surfing.

Day 1647

We got up at 7:15.  I did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  Then I got the car out of the garage for Ellen.  She was taking stupid pills today (more later) and parked behind me so I couldn't back out the truck.

Traffic was light, so it took less than half an hour to get to the dealership.  That was good, because Ellen drove right past the dealership (remember the pills?).  We left the car with them and said we'd be back after a couple of short errands.

We went to the shopping center on Slaughter.  We stopped at the pet store for kitty crack - Cooper won't eat the liver treats.  They hadn't opened yet.  Then we stopped at Target for a key holder for the trailer.  The shelves in almost all departments were half empty (no holders).  After a semi-long search we found Hobby Lobby where we got a frame for a print we bought last December.  The last stop was the pet store, now open, but no kitty crack.

The dealership called.  Apparently there is a wiring harness issue "and they have to take the car apart".  The amount of time it will be in the shop "depends on getting parts".  They are supposed to call tomorrow.

On the way home we stopped at an AutoZone and got the key holder.  It shared a parking lot with the donut place, so we got donuts.  We also stopped at HEB to get the peanuts we forgot.  We scored some disinfectant wipes.  The last stop was Tomlinson's for the kitty crack.

When we got home it was only 11.  I surfed for awhile and then had lunch while watching part of Ellen's chick flick.  It was a particularly screwed up one.

I went out to the garage and put wire hangers on the picture frame we bought.  That was easy.  Drilling out the rivets holding on the table brace was not.

Lucy was really spry when we went to the mailbox.

Dinner was leftovers.

After dinner was TV, followed by a short surfing session.

Day 1646

I woke up about 8:30, got up and did the pet stuff and breakfast.  After a little surfing I went out to install the new compartment latches in the trailer.  It was odd.  Yesterday evening I was hot to do the job.  This morning I was ambivalent.

The weather was peasant enough.  It helped I was working on the shady side of the trailer.  Everything went smoothly except for two minor issues.  I had a little trouble fitting the new latches in place, but it was more operator error than anything else.  I also had trouble programming one of the latches.  I'm still not sure why.  The final result is great.

One of the new fobs has a bad switch.  I email the manufacturer.  They sent me back an email that clearly indicated that they thought it was operator error.  I sent a replay that will hopefully convince them otherwise.

After that it was time for lunch.  Then it was surfing and TV.  About 3 I decided I needed to accomplish more.  I went back to the garage to work on the rifle.  It was 80 degrees and 66% humidity.  Ugly.  At first I got sidetracked cleaning up the garage.  I took two loads of stuff to the back storage building.  It was hot and miserable.

When I started working on the rifle nothing seemed to go right.  First, I couldn't find the right tools.  When I did, I had a hard time removing the first part.  Then I lost a part and spent a long time finding it.  Then I lost another part, couldn't find it, and had to get a replacement.  Then I lost a third part.  By then I was getting good at finding them.

I finally got finished at 5, just in time to take the dog to the mailbox.

Ellen fixed hamburgers for dinner.  After dinner was surfing and reading.

Tuesday, May 26, 2020

Day 1645

I woke up about 8, did some game playing, and then got up.  After pet stuff and breakfast it was start the wash.  Ellen had a doctor's appointment at 11:30, so it was kill time until it was time to leave.

The appointment was with the asshole doctor.  He's always running behind schedule.  I played games in the truck, so I'm not sure how long it was until Ellen came out.  It was a goodly amount of time.

After that we went to Covert.  They had sent us an email about a $100 gift certificate.  Unfortunately the offer had expired.  I asked service about the satellite radio turning off.  They didn't have a clue.  I ordered some tailgate lights for the truck.  I don't need them, but they look cool.

We stopped at Rudy's for lunch.  I was tired of eating ham for sandwiches.  On the way home it was the post office and HEB for bananas.

When I got home I decided to put the 7 gallons of diesel I bought at the start of the bullshit in the truck.  The spout for the can is moronic.  It's spring loaded with a "safety".  You have to hook the spout on the rim of the filler tube, press the safety, and then compress the spout against a strong spring.  Not doable with a heavy tank.  I used the spout from an old tank instead.

When I was finished I did surgery on the extra spout I purchased by mistake.  I removed the spring.  I also cut off the bullshit tab that keeps you from unscrewing the cap.  It's not a complete fix, but at least the spout is semi-usable.

Due to the 85 degree, 95% humidity I was soaked with sweat when I was done.  So I took a shower.  Then I fixed the frozen lasagna for dinner.  I surfed and read while it was cooking.  I also went out and got the new RV locks.  I was really happy to find that they had the right key number.  Someone at the manufacturer is on the ball.

After dinner I went out to the trailer to do the preliminary work for the new locks.  I drilled out the pop rivets on the old locks.  I also programmed the new fobs to work with the currently installed locks.  By then it was too dark to do more.

After that it was more surfing and a little reading.

Day 1644

I woke up about 7:30.  It was 67 degrees and cloudy, so I decided to get up and go for a walk. I"d thought it would be a chance to be comfortable.  It turned out that even though it was below 70, cloudy, and there was a slight breeze that 94% humidity meant that I was tired and sweaty when I got back home.

I had breakfast, did a little surfing, and then took a shower.  When I got out of the shower I decided that I really liked building the complicated motorized Lego kits.  I got on the Lego site and found out that they only make the one I just built.  So I got on Amazon and found previously released ones.  Of course they all sold for above their original prices.  I ended up buying several for a total of $2,000.  I kept telling myself that I have more than $30,000 in slush fund money and it's not doing me any good in the bank.

After that I had cabin fever pretty bad.  We sort of needed some dog treats, so I used that as an excuse to go somewhere.  I was also Jonesing for some dog meat.  We went all the way to 290 and Congress to a Mickey D's.  then it was the post office and Tomlinson's.

When we got home it was raining hard (1.14 inches today).  There was no mail anyway because it's Memorial Day.  That meant some more surfing, some reading, and some TV.

Ellen fixed BLT's for dinner.  After dinner I watched the Bridge Over The River Kwai.  I hadn't seen it in years.  It's a long movie.

Sunday, May 24, 2020

Day 1643

I woke up at 7, but played games until after 9.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.  After a little surfing I took the storage boxes I got yesterday out to the garage.

I spent 2 hours or so unpacking parts.  Some I just rearranged.  Others I moved to the new storage boxes.  When I was finished everything was much more organized.  I'll need some more boxes though.  I was embarrassed to find that the parts I ordered for the rifle aren't necessary.  I already had them.  They were just buried in the bottom of one of the old boxes.

After that I went back into the house for a shower, some surfing, and lunch.  It had gotten really hot and muggy.  After lunch I got out the Lego.

I continued building the base of the crane.  I got the middle part with the gears, second motor, and battery box built.  I started on the second side, but ran out of willingness to continue.  The point is to stop when it starts to become work.

After that it was reading, TV, and a little surfing.  We ate leftovers for dinner.

After dinner it was more TV until the thunderstorm hit.  That killed reception.  We've had 1.4 inches of rain in about 2 hours.  I had to put the car in the garage because of a hailstone warning.  At least it was easier to do without the old hitch and drill press there.

I watched some recorded shows until about 9:30.  Then it was surfing for the rest of the night.

Saturday, May 23, 2020

Day 1642

I woke up a little before 9.  Then I played games for quite awhile since there wasn't really anything to do today.  Eventually it was pet stuff and breakfast.  After breakfast was some surfing.  That got old as usual.

I decided to go outside and put some of the improvements I've purchased on the rifle.  Installing the improvements wasn't hard.  Figuring out how to configure the sling I purchased was a different story.  I was lucky I had another one to show me what to do.

I found a microSD card on the bathroom floor.  I have no idea how it got there.  Apparently it had been installed in an old Motorola phone.  It had a bunch of pictures from 2016.  Ellen backed them up on another device.

I fixed myself a home made salad for lunch.  The lettuce in the HEB salad was too old, so I tore up some from a head of lettuce and used the enhancements from the HEB salad.  Ellen fixed garlic bread to go with it.

After lunch I didn't feel like surfing, so I got out the big Lego excavator.  It's got 4,600 parts.  I spent quite a while sorting the parts for step one (of six).  When I was finished I was still interested so I started to build.  I got about 80 steps of the 260 making up step one.  I quit wnen I got tired.

I took the dog to the mailbox.  She was having problems with her back leg today.

Ellen fixed beef stew over noodles for dinner.  It was really good.  After dinner was TV and reading.

Friday, May 22, 2020

Day 1641

I woke up at 7 today and played games until after 9.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.  After breakfast I went outside to wash the trailer.  Ellen came out too because I needed help.  I needed her to hold the hose so it didn't fall off the roof.

The weather was pretty nice.  It was mostly cloudy and there was a fairly strong wind.  That mitigated the heat and humidity.  I started by cleaning the roof.  It was really dirty.  The cleaner worked well, but it still involved a lot of scrubbing to get the dirt off.

When the roof was done we started on the sides.  We used a wash and wax.  It doesn't look all that good (some streaking), but it protects the trailer.  We were done a little before 1.  We were both hot and sweaty.  I was very tired.  I had to go inside and surf for awhile before I had enough energy to take a shower.

I realized while we were washing the trailer that I'd forgotten to specify the key number for the new compartment latches.  They've already shipped, so I called the manufacturer.  They said they'd work with me about getting the right ones.  I'll have to wait until Monday to see what key number is used by the ones I receive.

I was very tired for the rest of the day.  It was spent mostly watching TV and surfing.  I walked to the mailbox, but I didn't take the dog.  I think I felt like she does on her bad days.

Dinner was leftovers.  After dinner was more TV and surfing.

Thursday, May 21, 2020

Day 1640

I woke up at 8, but spent over an hour playing games.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.  After breakfast I went out to the garage and finished cleaning out the sprayer.  The pump worked fine.

Ellen had to go for a blood test, so I drove her there.  Afterwards we stopped at the post office and HEB for milk and water.  On the way home an idiot light went on on the Audi.  Something about the "safety system".  I called and have an appointment for late next week.

It was hot and miserable when we got home.  I went outside and cut back the azalea anyway.  It was getting very close to the house.  I got an email saying that the company that makes the remote RV locks was having a 30% off sale.  So I ordered 2 for the door side compartment.

That was pretty much it for useful activity today.  The rest of the day was surfing, games, and TV.  I watched a recorded movie.

Some goddies for the rifle, so I'll probably install them tomorrow.

Ellen fixed tacos for dinner.

Wednesday, May 20, 2020

Day 1639

I got up at 7, did the pet stuff, and had breakfast.  Then I went out to spray the gravel.  The process went off without difficulty.  I was done about 10:30.  I did have problems with the sprayer.  It worked fine until time to clean the tank.  When I turned the pump off it wouldn't turn back on.  I thought it might be a discharged battery, so I just put it in the garage with a charger attached.

I went inside and took a shower.  I wanted to get that stuff off me ASAP.  After that it was some surfing.  That got old fast, so I started watching TV.  There were some RV shows.  It was really hot - mid 90's.  So there wasn't any encouragement to go outside.

I took the dog to the mailbox.  She was really energetic, just like yesterday.  Ellen fixed stroganoff for dinner.

After dinner was a movie, TV, and some surfing.

Tuesday, May 19, 2020

Day 1638

I woke up about 9:15, got up and did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  After that I went out to the garage.

I disassembled the old trailer hitch. It wasn't hard to do, but it took some work.  The heat and humidity even though it was only 10 was miserable.  It was also a dirty, greasy job.  I loaded the parts and the old drill press into the truck.

We left the dog at home because it was already in the 90's.  We stopped for a new sprayer battery on the way to the recycle place.  The recycle weighed the truck before and after and paid use $12 for 300 pounds of metal.  It was kind of fun unloading - just grab a piece and pitch it over my shoulder.

We stopped at the Park restaurant for lunch.  I figured sitting out on the patio was pretty safe.  Besides, I wanted a Guinness.  After lunch it was the post office and HEB.  We needed ass wipe, bread, and bananas.

I was tired when we got home.  I did a little surfing and then took a shower.  After that it was more surfing and some TV watching.

Ellen fixed ham and eggs with pancakes for dinner.  It was good.  After dinner was some more TV and game playing.  A couple of packages came lat (8).  I took the organizing boxes that came out to the garage and reorganized one of the wall cabinets.  I'll do more when the other boxes show up.

Monday, May 18, 2020

Day 1637

This was another day where I work up at 7, turned over, and woke up again at 9.  I got up then to do the pet stuff and have breakfast.

After breakfast I spent considerable time cleaning the kitchen.  There were dishes to wash, sinks to scrub, and counter tops to clean.

When that was done I did a little surfing.  That got old quick.  So I got out the rifle I intend to use in the class.  I took it to the garage and changed the optic.  I wanted to add a couple of other things, but I didn't have the right parts.

Not having the parts was an opportunity to go shopping.  I spent hours on Amazon locating what I wanted.  I couldn't get everything because Amazon doesn't sell every kind of part any more.  That sent me to my normal parts websites.  I haven't been there in almost a year.  If they had shelves the shelves would be picked clean.  I ended up finding what I wanted at Optics Planet.  They are expensive and slow to ship, but at least they had the stuff.

Pat sent me a reply to an email.  I spent 45 minutes collecting data for her to illustrate what I was talking about.  Basically the 1969 flu was worse than the Chinese flu and no one paid attention to it at all.  Today's population is made up or ignoramuses and pussies.

I'm trying to charge the sprayer battery.  The trickle charger didn't do the job, so I've got the big charger on it.  Tht's making very slow progress.

The evening was reading and some internet shopping for truck toys.

I should have mentioned that Ellen cut my hair yesterday.  The place I go to has a 2.5 hour wait and won't take reservations.  Screw them.  It's not bad, certainly better than being shaggy.

Sunday, May 17, 2020

Day 1636

I woke up at 7, turned over and didn't wake up again until 9.  That was too late, so I immediately got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After breakfast was a little surfing.

Surfing got old quick, so I took the new breaker list out to the apartment and taped it to the breaker box door.  That officially finishes the saga of the broken wire nut.

I got out the Lego when I got back to the house.  It didn't take long to finish the build.  Everything works perfectly.  I was a little worried because there were about 20 extra pieces.  Usually Lego doesn't do that sort of thing.  It's really neat.  I doubt I'll every play with it again though.  The fun is in building it.

I needed a place to put the crane.  So I started cleaning up the spare bedroom.  It rearranged stuff and cleared out a bunch of old Lego boxes we didn't need.  I also filed all of the instruction books away.

After that it was leftovers for lunch.  I did a little more surfing, but it quickly became boring.  I need to prepare a rifle for the class in November.  I want to be able to take it with us to sight in if we do leave.  I ended up going to all of the safes looking for stuff.  I settled on the Rock River, but I'm going to have to replace the optic.

That ended the useful work for the day.  The rest of the day was a little surfing, some reading, gamng, and TV.  The whole mix of usual activities.  Dinner was a HEB dinner.

The blood in the urine is a little better.  It wasn't as bad as yesterday in the morning.  The rest of the day it was definitely improved.

Saturday, May 16, 2020

Day 1635

I woke up about 8.  I was competing in a game again, so I stayed in bed until after 9.  I wasn't hungry, so I just did pet stuff.  I wasn't hungry because I'm pissing a lot of blood an I'm worried.  Some of it was even halfway congealed.

I went out to the garage and took the cover off the breaker panel.  I didn't see anything amiss.  My theory was a bad circuit breaker, but because the panel labels are crap I couldn't be for sure.  I took a couple of pictures and went inside to call John.  We talked for quite awhile.  He suggested buying a circuit tester.

So Ellen and I went to Home Depot and got the tester and a circuit breaker.  The tester was on sale.  We had to wait in line for about 15 minutes to get in.  We stopped at a hamburger place for lunch.  It's the first restaurant meal we've had in weeks.  Then it was the post office and home.

When we got home I went back to the apartment.  I didn't have much luck with the tester.  Everything I checked measured fine.  This should have been a clue, but I chalked it up to operator error.

So I tried the hard way.  I turned everything on in the apartment and then tripped each of the 24 breakers separately.  About half of them were mislabeled.  That took quite awhile.  Only one turned off the working outlets in the garage.  One circuit for the garage, but the idiot had wired a whole 20A circuit to a single outlet mounted 5 feet up in the main hallway.

I figured there might be a GFI I didn't know about.  The idiot that wired the house put the GFI for the outside outlets in the guest bathroom and the one for the master bathroom in the kitchen.  The same idiot wired the apartment.  I spent a lot of time in a very hot and humid attic tracing the wires for the garage outlets.  I found an outlet I didn't know about in one corner of the attic, but no GFI's.

That finally led me to a junction box high up on the garage wall (ladder time).  I had installed an outlet for the garage opener a couple of years ago and that's where I'd tied into the garage outlet wiring.  I opened up the box and everything looked fine.  I decided to tighten the wire nuts just to make sure.  The first was fine.  When I touched the second (black) sparks flew (yeah, I hadn't turned off the breaker).  So I turned off the breaker and investigated.  The wire nut had come apart.  It was in three pieces.  I replaced it and the dead outlets started to work.

I'll never know why the wire nut decided to die the night of a thunderstorm that caused a power outage.  Murphy got me.

The whole operation took 4 or more hours.  I was really tired and soaked in sweat - too tired to take a shower.  I sat at the computer and made up an accurate breaker label for the panel.  By then I'd recovered and took a shower.

Ellen fixed chicken stir fry for dinner.  It was really good.  Dessert was a donut we'd bought when we were out.  After dinner was TV until there wasn't anything to watch.  Then it was surfing.

Friday, May 15, 2020

Day 1634

I woke up a little before 9.  I didn't game because it was so late.  Instead it was get up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After that it was a little surfing.  By 10 we were on our way to Tractor Supply to buy birdseed.  The squirrels and deer have eaten up our supply.  I guess the birds might have gotten some, too.

After Tractor Supply we stopped at Home Depot.  I needed a spray bottle to apply the rubber roof cleaner I just bought.  They didn't have any (neither did Tractor Supply).  Apparently that's an item people are buying out for some reason.  I bought a $2 bottle of window spray instead.  It was cheaper than an empty bottle would be.

We also stopped at HEB for milk and orange juice.  Of course we ended up buying a lot of other stuff, too.  It was really nice not having to wear masks.  The Hays county judge declared them to be necessary, but the sheriff said he wouldn't enforce it.

On the way home we stopped at Tomlinson's to get Lucy some treats.  We also stopped at CVS for more masks.  They had little bottles of hand sanitizer so I bought one for each car.

When we got home we had HEB meals for lunch.  Then I went out to the garage to finish the marble project.  It took awhile, but I got the gearbox working.  Unfortunately it wouldn't drive the marble thing.  That was because there was a little wobble in the gearbox driveshaft and a big wobble in the marble thing's driveshaft.  If I'd been a mechanical engineer I'd have known the project was doomed from the start.  Oh well.  I saved the gearbox and put the marble thing in the Goodwill pile.  I took a shower afterward because it was almost 90 and very humid in the garage.

The deer showed up as soon as Ellen filled up the bird feeder.  I started shooting them with the low power pellet pistol.  They kept coming back.  They just stood and stared at me when I opened the door to shoot them.  Eventually I shot them enough that they took off.  I bet they're back tonight.

We had another HEB meal for dinner.  Then I sat down for TV and a recorded movie.  About 9 a thunderstorm moved in.  We had a short power glitch.  The report said penny sized hail, so I went out to move the car into the garage.  The garage door wouldn't work.  After trying to reset it I discovered that one of the garage power circuits was dead.

I tried to debug the problem  I turned off and reset every breaker in the panel.  Nothing fixed the problem.  It didn't help that the asshole that built it didn't label half the breakers.  I finally gave up and just put the car in the garage.

The whole effort involved lots of running around outside in the heat, humidity, and rain.  I'm going to need another shower.

A final note.  I'm supposed to piss and shit blood a little after the biopsy.  I pissed a little blood on Wednesday, but very little or none at all yesterday.  I also didn't piss much or any this morning.  Unfortunately this afternoon about 5 I pissed a lot.  The instructions say I might piss blood for weeks.  They also said not to do any thing strenuous, and I took a long walk on Wednesday.  I'm just going to have to see how it goes.

Day 1633

I woke up about 7:45 and stayed in bed until after 9 playing games.  Then it was pet stuff.  I went on a long walk before breakfast.  As usual I came back soaked in sweat.

After breakfast we went out to the trailer.  I took all of the stuff back to the garage while Ellen did some final cleanup.  Then I screwed down the trim piece at the end of the floor.  I thought it would present some difficulty, but it didn't.

By then it was afternoon.  I surfed and played games untilafter 2.  Then it was a ham sandwich for a late lunch.

After lunch it was games and some surfing.  I took the dog to the mailbox.  She was really energetic, probably the best she's been in a long time.  There was a Amazon package with the light timer I ordered.  When I got back I plugged the antique lamp I bought at Christmas.  It was the one I thought I'd accidentally thrown away.  It turns out I'd put it in the coat closet.  The programming instructions are really confusing.  It will be tomorrow before I know if it's right.

Ellen fixed ham mixed with macaroni and cheese.  After dinner we spent the evening watching recorded TV shows.  It's so nice to fast forward through the commercials.

Wednesday, May 13, 2020

Day 1632

I woke up at 6.  I had a schedule mapped out for what I had to do until I left.  I pretty much matched it to the minute, except I got to the doctor a little early.

I filled out all of their paperwork.  Then they took my blood for a study.  They gave me a $50 gift certificate for it.  I thought that was mice.

The procedure itself didn't take long.  For the most part it wasn't very uncomfortable.  The last couple of the 12 samples were.  The wore thing was the side effects of the enema.  I felt like I had to shit for hours.

After the procedure we went to Central Market.  Ellen bought some meat because she likes their meat best.  Then it was the post office ansd home.  By then the anesthetic was wearing off and I was beginning to hurt.  My asshole and the area behind my dick were hurting.  I took some Tylenol and that helped some.  Then I took a nap.  y the time I woke up I was beginning to feel better.  By 2 I was pretty much OK.

I wanted to do something today, so I cleaned off the table in the corner of the kitchen.  I put away all of the RC cars.  Then I collected all of the hobby tools and put them in a plastic container.  It went under the table.  I also used wood cleaner to clean the top.  It's now ready to put the antique lamp on it once I get a lamp timer.

I didn't have any lunch and dinner was a few leftovers.  My stomach isn't operating normally because I'm taking killer antibiotics.

The rest of the day was surfing, games, and TV.  I watched another movie.

Tuesday, May 12, 2020

Day 1631

The alarm woke me up at 8 today.  It was time to take an antibiotic for the biopsy tomorrow.  Thenit was pet stuff and breakfast.

A thunderstorm moved in after breakfast.  It lasted for most of the morning.  Then it was just rain until a smaller thunderstorm in the late afternoon.  All total we got 2.25 inches of rain today.

That meant that the day was spent on surfing, reading, gaming, and TV.  I did work a little on the Lego.  It turns out that I'd made a mistake routing the strings for the crane arm.  I had to take some pieces apart to fix it.  It didn't help that the instructions weren't really clear on how they should work.

Due to all of the rework I didn't make much progress on the build.  I stopped at the point where it was time to attach the arm.  I'd had enough of working with the cables.

That was about it for the day.  Ellen fixed red beans and rice for dinner.

I'm a little apprehensive about tomorrow.  I've got to get up early in the morning and hopefully take a shit.  Then I have to have Ellen give me an enema.  I also have to remember to drink a lot so that  can take a piss when they want me to.

Day 1630

I woke up a little before 8 and played games until about 9:30.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.  When we were finished we went out to the trailer.

It quickly became clear that finishing the flooring install was a one person operation.  Ellen did that while I worked on the vacuum cleaner.  When I emptied it I found that the dust collector container was all clogged up.  I spent quite awhile cleaning it out.  I used a brush, an awl, and the air compressor.  It should work a lot better now.

I left Ellen in the trailer and went back to the house.  I had an email from the urologist telling me to confirm my appointment online.  In order to finish it I had to give them $111 for the phone call I had with the doctor.  They haven't sent me a bill for that.  I paid it, but I'm pissed.

The rest of the day was mainly surfing, reading, and game playing.  I did take the dog to the mailbox.  It was one of the days when she seemed to enjoy herself.

Dinner was leftovers.  I watched a movie afterwards.  I ddin't seem a lot of it because I was playing games at the same time.

Day 1629

I woke up about 8 and played games for awhile.  Then it was pet stuff, but no breakfast.  It was relatively cool this morning, so I left for a walk.  It was still hot, but much more pleasant than later in the day.

When I got back I had breakfast and did a little bit of surfing.  Then we went to the post office and HEB.  We needed milk and orange juice.  Of course we bought some other stuff, too.

When we got home I had planned on working on the trailer.  Instead I stayed inside and surfed.  Later that morphed into TV and game playing.

Ellen fixed BLT's for dinner.  After dinner was a TV movie and a lot more game playing.

Day 1628

I woke up about 8 and played games until after 9.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.  After breakfast I did a little surfing.  Then I went to the trailer.

I sanded down the wood putty that Ellen put down yesterday.  The result looks good.  It was cold enough (60's) to make the vinyl stiff and it didn't lay flat.  Instead I decided to work on the other pressing item.  The power supply hanging down from the picture frame was causing the trim to be torn off on the slideout.

I got some zip ties and tied the power supply behind a curtain where it won't bind with the slideout.  Then I got out the compressor and air nailer.  I used the nailer to reattach the trim.  Three brads in less than a minute and it was done.  Because the trim was 2 inches from the chair arm it would have been really difficult and time consuming to try to use a hammer and nails.  It wouldn't have looked as good, either.

Ellen came out.  I left putting down the part of the floor we didn't remove to her and went back to the house to surf.  I'm getting good at finding non-Chinese things to read.  When she came back I went on a 3 mile walk.

After lunch Ellen went back outside.  She didn't say why.  I took a shower.  When I got out I went looking for her.  She had gone to the trailer and glued down the patch.  It looks pretty good.  We need to let that dry and put down the seam sealer tomorrow.  That will finish the job.

I spent the rest of the afternoon surfing and watching TV. Ellen made meatloaf and baked potatoes for dinner.  It was really good.  As good or better than anything we've had a restaurants.

After dinner was more TV.  I watched a movie.  I'd seen it before, but like most movies I didn't remember it.

Day 1627

I woke up about 8 and played games until after 9.  After pet stuff and breakfast we both went out to the trailer.  I set up everything and then Ellen started applying the wood putty.  I went back to the house.  I surfed while she worked.

I ended up surfing until after lunch.  I actually found a lot of interesting non-flu things to read.  I did finally get bored.  So I went out to the garage and worked on the marble thing.  I got the gearbox assembled.  That took awhile because I drilled one of the dear holes in the wrong place.  Fortunately I was able to elongate the holes with the drill.

I could have finished it up, but I lost interest.  Also, I remembered that I needed to go to CVS to pick up some drugs.  Ellen got out the coupons before we went and we clipped several.  When we went to pay at CVS the coupons were worth a $27 discount.  That was at least half the bill.

When we got back Ellen started watching TV and I played games.  We had a late dinner of leftover pizza.  After dinner was more TV and games.

Day 1626

I woke up at 7:45 and played games until 9.  I'm in a hot competition with someone.  I played quite a bit today and I'm currently ahead with several hours left to go.  We'll see.

After that it was pet stuff and breakfast.  Then I went out to the trailer and sanded down the subfloor  where the patch will go.  Then it was time to go to Lowe's to get some needed supplies.  We also stopped at Costco, the pet store, and the post office.  Costco didn't have a line.  That was great.  The last stop was HEB.  I decided tonight was a pizza night.  They had a "decorate your cake" kit, so I bought one for Ellen.

When we got home we put everything away.  Then Ellen went to work on the cake.  She complained a little, but I could tell she enjoyed it.  The cake turned out to taste really good.

After that it was a little surfing, some TV, and a lot of game playing.  I did take the dog to the mailbox.  She gets no respect form the deer.  On the way back a deer was standing by the edge of the driveway.  It let Lucy walk up within 6 feet before it walked (didn't run) a little ways away.

Dinner was pizza of course.  After dinner was a recorded movie and some other TV along with gaming.

Day 1625

I woke up about 8, did the pet stuff, and had breakfast.  I took out the recycle and put out the cans.  Then Ellen and I went to the trailer.

The first job was to finish cutting out the old flooring.  That took a while.  There were a lot of cuts to make and they all had to be made very carefully.  I only messed up a couple, and they weren't too bad.

Lifting the new flooring off tyhe old was a real pain.  The double sided tape we used was ripping off the backing.  We carefully got it all up from the old floor.  I gave it to Ellen.  She took it to the house and carefully removed the tape.  She had to repair some of the backing.

While Ellen was doing that I set to work removing the old flooring.  It would have been pretty easy to do except for the Elmer's glue I used to repair the tear.  I had to use a chisel to scrape off the glue.  It was hard work.  Ellen got done before I did.

The final stuff we did was remove the little bit of flooring that was below the metal trim.  The good news it that it looks like the patch will fit pretty well.

After that I called a halt.  I was tired and hot.  removing the glue was a lot of work.  We went back to the house for some surfing and lunch.

After lunch I decided to organize our movies.  There were 40 or so stacked on the coffee table and another 30 on top of the DVD cabinet.  I put all of the previously viewed DVD's and Blu-rays into the cabinet.  I put the unviewed ones on the table.  Then I ordered a container for them.  That took quite awhile.

After that was some surfing and games.  I took the dog to the mailbox before dinner.  Ellen fixed leftovers.

After dinner was TV.  It was mainly recorded stuff.  That avoids commercials and reduces the DVR storage.

Day 1624

I woke up at 7:30 this morning.  It was another case of couldn't go back to sleep.  I got up after some game playing.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.  After a little more surfing it was out to the trailer with Ellen to work on the trailer floor.

It was mid 70's, but very humid.  We got the new flooring positioned.  It looks to work fine.  Then we taped it down with double sided tape.  I started to cut it.  That seems like it will go well.  Then I called a halt because it was getting really hot in there.

We went back to the trailer and I did some shopping.  I didn't find anything I wanted to buy.  Lunch was leftover chili used to make frito pie.

After lunch I went out to the garage to work on the marble thing.  I got the gearbox sides in place.  The next step is to move one of the gear holes.  I'm off by a few thousandths.  I may have a little trouble with mounting the motor.  We'll see.

The rest of the afternoon was a little surfing and TV.  The DVR was down to 19% capacity.  So both of us spent some time deleting stuff we had already watched.  We ended up with 38% capacity.

Ellen fixed steak and mashed potatoes for dinner.  It was really good.

After dinner I played games and then watched a movie.  It looks like I'm going to win against the person who's competing with me.  I won't know until tomorrow.

Day 1623

I didn't get much sleep last night.  I stayed up until 2:30 playing games.  I was up at 7:15 because I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.

It's 10 days until my biopsy, so I did a dry run today.  After breakfast I laid down on the bathroom floor and had Ellen give me an enema.  It wasn't pleasant, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.  After the specified 15 minutes I got up and shit it out.

I spent some time surfing.  I found several non-Chinese flu articles to read.  Then we left for CVS so I could pick up some drugs.  I turned out that they needed to call the doctor, so I told them I'd be back in awhile.

We stopped at Tomlinson's and bought a whole bunch of dog and cat food.  Then we went to HEB, mainly because there wasn't a line.  Apparently the loosening of the lockdown has had an effect.  The store was fully stocked except for disinfectant wipes.

We went home and had lunch.  I was going to walk, but I was just too tired.  I surfed and played games instead.  I found more non-Chinese flu stuff to read.  I also ran across an article that said the flu was in France in December.  This reinforces my belief that I had it in December.

Ellen fixed shrimp from HEB for dinner.  Aftere dinner was some game playing, surfing, and TV.

Day 1622

I woke up about 8, but played games for quite awhile.  It was pet stuff and breakfast when I did get up.  After that it was a little surfing.

About 10:30 I decided to take a walk.  I walked out to 1826.  It's a 3 mile round trip.  It was hot and humid.  I was soaked with sweat by the time I got back.  I was also hot and tired.

I surfed for awhile and then had lunch.  In the morning I had every intention of going out and working in the garage.  The walk made me too tired to face any more heat.  So instead I read, surfed, and watched TV.

I found a cool accessory for the truck and looked for places to buy it.  I'll probably order one tomorrow.

Ellen fixed hamburger in tomato sauce over pasta for dinner.  It's what I asked for.  After dinner it was TV and games.

Day 1621

I woke up at 6:45.  I got up, did the pet stuff, had breakfast, and left for the Range.  Timing was ust about perfect.  I got there 10 minutes early.  I even had time to stop for donuts at the donutt place by the vet.

The calss was for people who had never shot a pistol before.  That didn't mean that there wasn't a lot of stuff for me to learn.  I learned quite a but about how to hold the pistol and how to pull the trigger.  My hand means I'll never be a great pistol shot, but with practice I could do OK.  The trigger pull thing is just quit treating it like a shotgun.

The class was 8 hours.  I got really frustrated because the electronic earphones I had made it almost impossible to hear the instructor's range commands.  They amplified the fan noise to the level that he was barely audible.  Apparently we shot more than the normal class because there were only 4 people instead of the usual 8.  I was pretty tired buy the time it was over.

We got done about 4:30.  I drove to Academy and got a smaller pair of sandals.  Then it was the post office and HEB.  We ran out of milk today.  I would have stopped at CVS, but the pharmacy was closed by the time I got there.

Ellen fixed hamburger and sauce over noodles for dinner.  She also made rolls.  This time they were good.

After dinner was a movie.  Then I played games for awhile.  The other guy is beating my ass.

Day 1620

I woke up about 8 and played games for an hour.  I'm in another contest with another player.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.  After a very brief surfing session I went on a long walk.  I think I'm going to try to make that a regular activity.

I was hot and tired when I got back.  I surfed until lunch.  When I made lunch I also made a lunch for tomorrow.

After lunch I went out to the garage to work on the marble thing.  I got quite a bit done and didn't have to redo anything.  I think I probably have one more session before I've completed it.

I started playing games again.  I spent hours on it, but when I was finished I was ahead.  Because the game takes several days I expect to have to play catchup again at some point.

Ellen fixed Frito pie for dinner.  I like it.

After dinner was more games and then some surfing.
