Day 3168

I woke up about 8 and played games for a while.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  When I finished I went outside to run the MT10.

I had a lot of fun running it on the grass.  It was even more fun running it on the dirt in the farmer's area.  It seemed a little slow though.  As the battery was running out I drove it back to the trailer.  Abby was out and she had a great time chasing it around.  I discovered that it ran MUCH faster in reverse than it did going forward.  Then the battery died.  I took it back to the shed to work on later.

We took Abby for a walk around the course.  She was running faster than yesterday, but not full speed.  She got a lot of miles in though because we walked to the far side where she ran through the grass field.  It's been cut, so she could go far and fast.

When we got back to the trailer I did some surfing.  Ellen watched a chick flick.  I got bored and went back to the shed to work on the MT10.  That's when the Chinese instructions got me.  I kept trying to program the ESC throttle response, but it wouldn't work.  I gave up on that and tried to reverse the motor rotation by switching the leads like it said in the instructions.  I tried all the different combinations.  None worked.  Finally I gave up on the ESC and changed the setting on the transmitter.  That worked.  Now I'll have 100% power in forward rather than 25%.

I put the MT10 away and started to build up some charging cables for the mini-b's.  I got the wires prepped, but didn't feel like doing the soldering.  I'll do that some other time.  I also recharged the MT10 battery.  The new charger is nice.  It did the 2200 mAh battery in less than 15 minutes.

By the it was getting hot (93 degrees).  I went back inside for a little surfing followed by videos.  That turned into a nap.

Ellen fixed stir fry for dinner.  After dinner was videos.  I found some cool travel videos about people living on 1000 meter cliffs in China.  I also found some about weird homemade transportation rigs in the poorer countries.

I go to Costco tomorrow.  Hopefully they can fix the ringing in my hearing aid.

Day 3167

I woke up at 7:30, played games, and got up a little after 8 and got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  Then we loaded the laundry and went to the laundromat.  Washing the clothes was boring as usual.

After the laundry we went to Wally World to by some items that we typically get there.  Then we stopped at the post off (no mail) before going home.

When we got home I put everything away and then drained the tanks.  We took Abby for a walk while they drained.  She didn't run as hard as yesterday, but she still covered a lot of ground.  On the way home she voluntarily jumped into the pond after a stick that was floating in it.  I threw some other sticks for her, but she still won't swim.

When we got back to the trailer it was lunch, the last of the leftover pizza.  I surfed for a while while Ellen watched chick flicks.  Eventually that was done and I sat down to watch videos.  I didn't get through the first one before I fell asleep for a long nap.  I woke up just in time to feed the animals dinner.

Ellen fixed hamburgers that she cooked yesterday for dinner.  After dinner was videos.  This time I stayed away.

Before lunch I' charged a RC car battery.  Somehow I didn't get around to running the car.  I'll probably do that tomorrow.

Day 3166

I woke up at 8 and got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  Then we packed up the animals and left for the vet.

There was a crash at the bridge, but we barely had to slow down for it.  In fact, this trip was the easiest and fastest morning trip that we've had in a long time.  That meant that we got to the vet half an hour early.  They took us early anyway.

The cat checked out fine and they got the necessary shots.  $650 later we were headed back to the trailer.  Again the trip to Woodburn was pretty good.  We stopped at Dutch Bros and Walgreens and then went home.

I'd noticed before we left that an animal had torn open the garbage sack in the carport.  I patched it with tape and we took it to the dumpster.

I surfed while Elle watched videos.  A little before lunch we took Abby for a walk.  We let her run for a very long time.  She was a tired dog when we got home.

Ellen went back to videos.  I started shopping at AliExpress for components for a RC build I'm considering.  It took most of the afternoon because I had to balance prices and match them.  The AliExpress website sucks, so it wasn't helping.

Dinner was leftovers.  After dinner Ellen continued with videos.  I ordered some parts and then went back to plain surfing.

Day 3165

I woke up about 8:30 and played games for a while. Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  There was absolutely nothing on the schedule today.

We took Abby on a walk over to the berry bushes past the trailers.  She was her usual fast and long running self.  When we got to the bushes we picked a little over two cups of berries to take back to the trailer.  Abby ran a whole bunch back to the clubhouse.  There she had a chance to play with a couple of other dogs.  Eventually we got home with a very tired doggy.

I surfed for quite a while, until after lunch.  Ellen watched videos.  After lunch I watched videos while she made the berries into a cobbler.  It came out really good.

Ellen fixed hamburgers on the BBQ for dinner.  After dinner I watched a couple of movies.  I didn't finish one because it was late.  We have to take the cats to the vet in the morning.

Abby was pretty tired for the rest of the day.  We did a good job tiring her out in the morning.

Saturday, July 27, 2024

Day 3164

I woke up a little after 8 and played games.  Eventually it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After breakfast I started dumping the tanks.  Then it was time to take Abby for her walk/run.

Abby tore off like she usually does.  I had to call her in when we got to the clubhouse.  There were a lot of people shooting today.  We met a lady we knew who has 6 GSP's.  She bonded with Abby.  We could only take Abby to the trailers because of the shooters, so when we got back to the pond we decided to throw the bumper.

At first Abby wouldn't go in after the bumper.  I finally pushed her in.  She didn't mind, got the bumper and brought it out.  I threw a lot of retrieves.  She would go in after the bumper, but she wouldn't swim (actually she probably swam a paddle or two a couple of times).  When we were finished I threw a few land retrieves to dry her off.

After that we went back into the trailer.  I surfed,  Ellen watched videos, and Abby slept.  About 1 we went to Safeway for some groceries.  We also stopped for hamburgers on the way home.

The afternoon was split between videos and surfing.  Ellen fixed a pizza on the BBQ for dinner.

After dinner was videos.

Day 3163

I woke up a little after 8 and played games for a while.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.

After breakfast the first task was to unplug the bathroom sink drain.  It was running very slow.  In the past I'd emptied the below sink cabinet and unscrewed the drain pipe.  Fortunately I remembered that that wasn't really necessary.  I unscrewed the drain plug and used a pair of pliers to remove all of the Ellen hair.  It was much easier and quicker.  Yeah.

After that we took Abby for her morning walk.  She ran long and hard.  She also met a dog on the course to play with.  When we got back to the clubhouse she met two more.  Amazingly she had energy left to do some retrieves when we got back to the trailer.

I went back out to the shed.  I completed fixing the Baby Yoda model.  I also completed the work on the new lips bag.  It came out just the way that I wanted.

I called Joe about the truck, but he didn't call back.

The rest of the day was a mixture of videos and surfing.

Ellen fixed steak and corn on the BBQ for dinner.  It was really good.  The BBQ was really a good idea.

Thursday, July 25, 2024

Day 3162

I woke up a little after 7 and turned over and went back to sleep until 8:30.  I'd been up until 1 playing games and needed the sleep.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.

After breakfast we took Abby for a walk.  We walked a little past the freeway and then turned around.  We couldn't go further because people were on the course.  Abby did great, obeying every verbal and whistle command.  She wasn't tired when we got back, so we threw the bumper for her, too.

After that I surfed for quite a while and then watched some videos.  I also went out and glued the last piece of velcro to the lipo bag.  That lasted until 2 when we went to Hops n Drops for their happy hour.  We took Abby there and again she did great.

We were going to go to the post office, but there was a big accident on 99 by the titty bar.  Traffic was backed up past Concomly.  After a wait we got to turn in there.

The rest of the afternoon was videos.  Diner was leftovers.  After dinner I got tired of videos and watched 1.5 movies.

Wednesday, July 24, 2024

Day 3161

I woke up a little before 8 and played games fora longtime.  There was no point in getting up because it was a sewer day. Eventually I did get up for pet stuff and breakfast.

After a little surfing I went outside to do some chores.  I glued another piece of velcro on the lipo bag (one to go).  Then I boxed up some small items that need to be taken back to Texas.  I also repaired a baby Yoda toy that the cats had broken.  I took the clothes back to the trailer.  I cleaned Abby's pool and refilled it.  Finally I put a couple of bolts in the dog wash to strengthen it.

After that there was nothing to do except watch videos and wait for the sewer guy.  He came just after lunch, about 1:30.  The process went smoothly.  Afterwards I drained the other tank and put everything away.  Then it was back inside for videos and a nap.

Ellen fixed sausage and hash browns for dinner.  After dinner we took Abby outside and threw bumpers for her.  She's getting good at finding them and doing a "woah" until she's released.

After that was more videos and then bed.

Tuesday, July 23, 2024

Day 3160

I woke up a little before 8 and played games for about an hour.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast. After that it was the laundromat.

Washing the clothes went as usual.  After that we stopped at Coastal for two bags of Casoron - one for here and one for Texas.  From there we went to Salem to pick up my shell bag.  We stopped at Freddies on the way and got a few items.  The last stop was DQ for lunch.

When we got home I started a bunch of chores.  I put away all of the laundry stuff.  Then I wrapped the one of the Casoron bags in a plastic bag and put it in the truck.  I had to get out the vacuum and clean the trunk because one bag leaked.  I also glued another piece of velcro to the new lipo bag (there are several to go).  I cleaned some rust on the breach of my shotgun.  Finally I put everything back in the shell bag.

When I got back to the trailer I did a little surfing followed by videos.  That quickly turned into a nap.  When I woke up it was more videos until dinner - leftovers.  After dinner was some more videos followed by some surfing.

Monday, July 22, 2024

Day 3159

I woke up abot 8 and played games for a while.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.

After breakfast we took Abby for a walk.  This time we walked all the way around the course.  She did a whole lot of running, but she wasn't overly tired when we got done.  We decided to throw some bumper for her, too.

I drained the tanks and then went back inside to do some surfing.  When that got old we went to the post office and the grocery store.  Lunch was leftovers when we got back.

There were several boxes at the post office when we got back.  They had stuff I needed for projects, so after lunch I went to the shed.

I started by fixing the old Crocs.  The rivets I'd bought were too small (I knew that).  However, with some drilling and a pair of pliers I reattached the strap.  Unfortunately the connection is so tight that the strap doesn't move up and down anymore.  It's still usable though.

When that was done I put a XT60 connector on the Grom battery.  That involved attaching a balance connector, too.  It took time to do, but was remarkably painless.

Finally I glued a velcro strip to the side of the new lipo box.  I'm hoping to use the dividers from the old box in it.

After that it was back inside for videos.  The shoe repair place called to say my shell box is done.  We'll get it tomorrow.

Ellen fixed a pizza on the BBQ for dinner.  It was really good.  After dinner was videos for a while and then surfing.

Sunday, July 21, 2024

Day 3158

I woke up at 8 and got up immediately because we were shooting at 10.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  We were woken up by thunder and it rained a little during breakfast.  Fortunately that stopped just after breakfast.

I set up everything when the rain stopped.  By the time to shoot it was clear.  We started on station 3, which was ideal even though we didn't have a cart.

I shot like shit.  I just couldn't make any shots that I should.  If I happened to make a good shot, I'd miss it on the next pair.  I did have fun talking to a guy about hunting dogs.  He wanted to get one.  I made a few suggestions and Ellen introduced him to Skip when the shoot was over.

We ate lunch at the roach coach and then went back to the trailer.  Abby was acting really tired, so we gave her the day off.  I was really disgusted.  I surfed for a while and then watched videos which turned into a pretty long nap.

We left Abby untied when we got home.  She did pretty well, but we did have to remind her to leave the kitty rocas alone a couple of time.

Ellen fixed salmon on the BBQ for dinner.  It was really good.  After dinner it was videos until I got bored and went to bed early.

Day 3157

I woke up at 8 and played games for a while.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After that We took Abby for a walk.

We walked over to the freeway and back.  Abby covered A LOT of ground while we did so.  When we got back to the pond there was a guy there with a GSP doing water retrieves.  His dog was much bigger than Abby.  I tried to use his dog to get Abby to swim.  I got close, but didn't succeed.  She did spend a lot of time chasing the dog around and splashing in the pond with it.

When we got back to the trailer I threw retrieves for Abby while Ellen went to the can.  Then we left to see Dan.  We stopped at Cabela's on the way up and bought Abby a new elephant dog toy.  It's one of her favorites.

When we got to Dan's we went out on the deck.  Abby spent a lot of time chasing Rowdy around and annoying him.  We talked.  Eventually we got hungry and went to a restaurant in Beaver ton that Dan liked.  I had a great BLT.  Then we went back to his place for more deck time and talking.  It was a great day for i, warm, but with a breeze to keep it comfortable.

Eventually we got hungry again and went to a sushi place near his home.  We took two vehicles and when we were done we went home.  We didn't get home until 9.  Both the dog and cats were happy to finally get fed.

Friday, July 19, 2024

Day 3156

I woke up at 7 and tried for a while to go back to sleep.  I managed to doze until 8.  Then it was games.  Eventually that turned into et stuff and breakfast.

After breakfast we took Abby for her first complete walk in over 2 weeks.  She went wild, running like crazy.  She still remembered to check in with us and obey verbal commands and the whistle.  We took her over to the freeway and then turned around.  I wanted to have her where we could always see her.  On the way back we stopped at the club.  She got to play with a couple of dogs there.

It was getting warm when we got back.  We unpacked the BBQ in the shed and assembled it on the BBQ table in the yard.  It took quite a while to do.  There were a lot of parts and the thing was awkward to work on.

When that was finished I went back inside to surf and cool off.  Then we put Abby in the car and left to pick up my shooting bag.  I didn't care if it was done or not.  When I got there there was a sign on the door saying that they were only open Mon through Thur now.  Crap.

We ate lunch at Arby's and then stopped at Bi-Mart to get a shell bag.  They didn't have one, but I found a cheap "case bag" that will work.  The next stop was the Salem farm store for various fruits and vegetables.  The final stop was the post office to pick up packages. There were several.

When I got home I put away the stuff from the packages.  Most of it was RC stuff that I'd bought.  Ellen cleaned the BBQ grill and the BBQ utensils.  Then she used the BBQ to cook peach cobbler, baked potatoes, and hamburgers.  They were great.  I had a nap.

After dinner was a few videos and 1.5 episodes of Reacher.

Day 3155

I woke up about 7:30 and played games for s short while.  Then was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  We put Abby in the car and left for Beaverton a little after 9.

The traffic on the way up wasn't all that bad.  There was a  little slowing at Wilsonville and a lot of slowing on 217.  Fortunately we had plenty of time.  We even had time to stop for a short time at the Japanese grocery for BBQ pork and Yakisoba.

The vet appointment was pretty short.  They gave her a clean bill of health, but want a followup in a couple of weeks.  Abby was wired the whole time we were there.  John and Patty were still at the dentist, so we went to Tammy's to visit with Dwayne.  We talked to him for a while.  I bought some hex tools that I needed and a 1/64 scale RC tank that I did not.  Patty texted me there and said that they were on their way home.

We stopped at DQ on the way to their place for a snack and Dutch Bros. for some coffee.  It was a great day for sitting on their deck, so that's what we did.  We talked for hours and had a few drinks.  Abby went ape shit some more.  Fortunately she had their yard to tire herself out in.  Eventually she calmed down enough that we got all the dogs together.  It went fairly well.

We had tacos on the deck in the late afternoon.  Eventually we went inside to listen to the Republican National Convention.  I really didn't give a shit.  John and Patty were amazed when Abby got the after dinner zoomies.  It was fun to watch.

We left their place a little after 8.  The trip home was smooth sailing.  We watched videos for a little while and then went to bed.

Day 3154

I woke up a little before 8 and started playing games.  There wasn't much to do in the morning, so I played until after 9 and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  When that was we took Abby for her truncated walk.

We didn't need to go to Costco until 3:30, so we spent the rest of the morning killing time.  It was still a Prime Day, so I shopped and ordered a few things, nothing expensive or important.

We left the trailer about noon.  The first stop was Verizon to turn in Ellen's old phone.  She also made a change to the phone package to make it a little cheaper.  Then we went to eat at Chik-Fil-A.  It was good, but Ellen said it was expensive.

There was still pretty of time left, so we stopped at the RC store.  I looked around, but didn't buy anything.  I did give them the Grom parts, they didn't want the MT-10 parts.  I'm glad we didn't bring the mini-b's.  There were some pros practicing.

We still had a lot of time, so we took the long way to the pet store in south Salem.  We bought some cat food and a  dog treat.  We also stopped at the Roth's next door for paper towels.

By then it was time to get to Costco.  When we got there i put gas in the car and then we killed a little time shopping.  We bought some salmon for BBQ and a recliner to sit out in.

The hearing session was interesting.  They used a directional speaker to calibrate the hearing aids to my ear shape.  The technician kept switching different ear pieces until the computer said that she'd gotten it optimal.

We stopped at the post office on the way home and picked up some packages.  Most of them were BBQ stuff like the cover and utensils.

The last stop was the clubhouse to pick up the BBQ.  It was in a big heavy box.  We had to go to the trailer first and empty the trunk.  Then we went back and got the BBQ.  It barely fit in the trunk.

We put the BBQ in the shed.  It was too hot to consider dealing with it today.  Also we were tired.  Dinner was some frozen stuff.  After dinner was a little surfing and some videos.

Tuesday, July 16, 2024

Day 3153

I woke up at 7:30 and started playing games.  I played until after 8 and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  When that was done we loaded up the car and went to the laundromat.

I spent the time at the laundromat shopping at Amazon's Prime Day.  I actually found some good deals for things I could use.  When the laundry was done we went to Safeway for some necessary grocery shopping.  After that it was home.

When we got home we took Abby for a walk.  By then it was in the 80's.  When we got back I drained the tanks and sat outside in the shade shopping.  It was pretty comfortable because there was a breeze.  Unfortunately when I put on my Crocs the strap broke.  They aren't fixable.

Eventually the lawn chair had injured my ass enough that I went inside.  I switched to watching videos.  I got tired with that so we went to the company stores for a new pair of Crocs.  We stopped at Arby's first for lunch.  I went to every shoe store in the place.  None of them had the shoe in the color I wanted.  I ended up with a light color which will get dirty quickly.  Oh well.

We went back home and hid out from the heat watching videos.  Dinner was something frozen.  After dinner was videos and some more shopping.

Tomorrow I go to Costco about my hearing aids.  I'm not sure if I get them, or I just get them fitted.

Monday, July 15, 2024

Day 3152

I woke up a little before 8 and played games for a while.  Then I got up for pet stuff.  I didn't have breakfast because I had to get a blood test.

We left for the blood test, stopping at the post office on the way.  The BBQ bench was there.  After the blood test we stopped at Elmer's for breakfast.  The food was good and there was lots of it.  It was also $17 a plate.  Woof.

From there we went to CVS to get my drugs.  When we got there Verizon was having a sale on phones.  Ellen got a new one.  I saw one that I liked, but it's not in stock and I'm not really sure that I want it.  We picked up the drugs and then went to DQ for lunch.  To put things in perspective, lunch for both of us was $12.

When we got home I put the BBQ bench together.  It's really nice.  I realized that we didn't have BBQ tools or a pellet container.  I got on Amazon and found some.  We also ordered screen protectors for Ellen's new phone.

After that it was some surfing followed by videos.  Dinner was leftovers followed by more videos.  Cooper sat in my lap while Abby sat in Ellen's.  He's becoming more assertive about claiming my lap.

Ellen sent me an email from Amazon saying that the LiPo charger I'd purchased had been recalled as dangerous.  It's in Texas, so it will be a while before I can return it.  In the meantime I'll have to order another kind.

Laundry is tomorrow.  I'm going to sit there looking at Prime Day sales.

Day 3151

I woke up about 8 and played games for about an hour.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After breakfast we took Abby for her morning walk.

Abby did a good job.  She needed the horse thing for the first part of the walk, but did pretty good later without much.

When we got back it was surfing and videos until lunchtime.  I was really sick of sandwiches and frozen stuff, so we went to Hops and Drops.  After that it was back home.

It was getting hot, 88 degrees when we left the trailer and in the 90's when we got back.  I sat down for videos and had a nap.  When I woke up it was more videos until frozen pizza for dinner.

After dinner was a little more videos and then surfing.

Saturday, July 13, 2024

Day 3150

I woke up about 8 and played games for an hour.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After breakfast I had a longer than usual surfing session.

Eventually I realized that we hadn't taken Abby for her morning walk.  She reminded us by jumping repeatedly between the couch and the recliners.  We took her around the clubhouse and back.  I had her heeling without a leash.  I used the horse thing to remind her not to get ahead of me.  It worked well.

When we got back it was more surfing.  It was getting hot, eventually 97.  A little after lunch I switched to videos.  After about an hour I got bored and went back to surfing.  Someone tried to assassinate Trump today.  Luckily they missed.  I spent a lot of time reading about it.

Ellen fixed pork chops for dinner.  After dinner it was some surfing followed by another chapter of Reacher.  It's actually getting a little interesting even though it's mainly Reacher beating up bozos.

I can't wait until Abby gets a clean bill of health.

Friday, July 12, 2024

Day 3149

I woke up a little after 8 and played games until almost 10.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After that we took Abby for a walk.

When we got back I surfed for a while.  Then I got out the shooting stuff and we both went to shoot trap.  I shot a little better, but the gun just isn't shooting where I look.  After 50 rounds I gave up.

Back at the trailer was some more surfing and lunch.  That eventually morphed into videos and a nap.

Abby is back to eating like normal, both breakfast and dinner.  After dinner she got the zoomies again.  Ellen gave her a doggy downer.  That put her out for the rest of the night.

I'm finally getting tired of YouTube.  In the evening I switched to the new (to me) Reacher series.  I watched two episodes and went to bed.

Thursday, July 11, 2024

Day 3148

I woke up about 8 and played games for a while.  Then it was p for pet stuff and breakfast.  When that was done we took Abby over to the dumpster to deposit some garbage.  I scored a ammo box on the way back and filled it with the hunting ammo from yesterday.  Then we left to get some groceries.

The battery in my key fob for the truck failed.  Replacing it was a pain in the ass.  The manual was useless, but YouTube came to the rescue

We stopped on the way to pick up the mail.  After the groceries we stopped at Dutch Bros. because Ellen had a craving.  It's the first time I've gotten a "frost" there.  On the way home we stopped at Coastal for BBQ pellets and AC Greasy for hamburgers.  The final stop was Baumann's for the first corn of the summer.

Frustrating note: Camping World just lowered the price of the BBQ I ordered to match Amazon.  We could have had one today instead of waiting until sometime next week.

I was warming up when we got home.  Eventually it got up to the low 90's.  I did some surfing and then sat down for videos and a nap.

Dinner was frozen.  For the first time since the operation Abby ate all of her dinner.  After that she (or we) suffered an attack of the crazies.  When it was done she sacked out on our laps for the rest of the evening.

After dinner was a few more videos followed by surfing.

Wednesday, July 10, 2024

Day 3147

I woke up about 7:30 and played games for about an hour.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  It was going to be another hot day, so when breakfast was over we took Abby for a walk.

We walked over to the dumpster and threw away a few things. Then I took a few things to the shed.  I got out the case of hunting ammo that had gotten wet.  I put a chair out in the shade and started cleaning it.  I got through a couple of boxes and then Ellen came out.

I got her a chair and we made a team effort.  I cleaned the shells while she broke down the rotten ones.  I set up the Dremel for her to use.  When we were finished I'd cleaned a whole bunch of shells and she'd broken down at least 2 boxes worth.  By then it was getting pretty warm.  I put everything away and we went inside to have lunch and wait for the sewer guy.

The sewer guy came about 1:30.  He was done in about 10 or so minutes.  It took me another 15 to drain the grey tanks and put everything away.  By then it was really getting hot.  Eventually it got to 94.

We watched videos until dinner time.  Ellen fixed sausage and hash browns.  After that was some more videos.  I got bored though and switched to surfing.

Tuesday, July 9, 2024

Day 3146

I woke up about 8 and played games for an hour.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast followed by loading the laundry into the car.  This time I went with Ellen to the laundromat.

We almost had the laundromat to ourselves.  However, by the time we left there were 6 or 8 cars in the parking lot.  When we were done I drove over to the health clinic by the factory stores.  They told me that I needed an "order" from the doctor to get a blood test.  They also gave me their contact info.  We got some lunch at the golf course, stopped at Coastal for some alternate dog food, the post office, and then home.  By then it was in the mid 90's.  Eventually it got to 102.

I called Dr. Cox and requested the blood test order.  They called back a little later saying that it had been sent, but that I had to wait until the 11th so that Medicare would pay for it.  I couldn't get there until then anyway because the sewer guy is tomorrow.

After that I did some surfing and laid out the hose for the sewer tomorrow.  After that it was videos, which turned into a nap.

We didn't leave the trailer for the rest of the day.  It was HOT out.

Dinner was leftovers followed by more videos.

While I was at the laundromat I read the instructions for the drone the John and patty gave me.  It's literally too hot to run it.  That's probably because of the air density.

Monday, July 8, 2024

Day 3145

I woke up about 8 and played games for a very long time.  Then it was up for breakfast.  At 10 we took the dog for a walk.  It was already 80.  Eventually it got up to 104..

When we got back to the trailer I dumped the tanks.  That was all I did the whole day.  I spent almost the entire time veging out in front of the TV watching videos.

The only good thing was that my work yesterday on the shower sprayer holder works fine.  Now that it maintains it's position showering in the small shower is almost pleasant.

Ellen called the vet about Abby's lack of appetite.  The vet said that as long as she is eating something don't worry.  She did say to keep Abby's activity to a minimum.  That means only short walks.  She also said to keep the cone on for another 10 days.  I swear that this makes me as unhappy as it does Abby.

Day 3144

I woke up a little after8 and played games until a little before 9.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After a little surfing I took the shower sprayer mount off the wall and took it to the shed.

I removed the clamping bolt and looked at it.  I could see what was wrong.  The plastic knobs had brass inserts that screwed onto the bolt.  As I tightened the bolt the inserts were pulling out of the knobs instead of tightening the clamp.

Luckily I had a new bolt that would fit.  I put washers on both ends and used a nut on the other end.  I used wrenches to tighten it down as much as I could.  The result is VERY tight.  I installed the mount and put the sprayer on it.  The sprayer hasn't drooped all day.  Hopefully that fixes the problem.

It didn't take all that long to do the fix, but by the time I was done it was getting hot in the shed.  We put the dog in the box and went to the grocery store.  We wanted to get a 6' lead and some pet water also.  We ended up getting those at BiMart.  We got a few groceries at Safeway and went to DQ for lunch.  They didn't have the $7 special, so we won't be back.  We also stopped at Walgreen's where we got a dog toy and a Nerf like toy.

By the time we got home it was really hot.  We hid out in the trailer watching videos and killing flies.  The Nerf gun was great.  I killed at least a dozen with it.  We must have killed more than that with swatters.  The flies would hang out on the outside trailer walls and fly in whenever the dog went out.  Killing then was fun at first, but became work.

The rest of the day and evening was videos.

Day 3143

I woke up at 7:30 and played games until almost 9.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  That was followed by a little surfing.  Then Ellen and I took the dog to the trailers.  We put the doggy be good collar on her.  She wasn't paying attention to heeling until I zapped her pretty hard.  After that she was really good.

When we got back I went out to the shed.  I programmed up the MT10 and dressed all of the wires.  That means it's ready to run.  I also did a little bit more cleanup of the work area.  It's now ready for the next project.

When I got back to the trailer I tried to tighten up the shower sprayer holder.  I thought I'd done it, but in the evening it was drooping again.

I started watching videos and fell asleep.  I woke up about 1.  I got in the car and drove to CVS to pick up drugs.  I got there just before they closed for lunch.  Then I went to lunch at the teriyaki place.  After that it was back home for surfing.  By then the temperature was in the high 90's.  It later got to 100 again.  I hid out in the trailer and surfed while Ellen watched chick flicks.

Dinner was leftover pizza.  After dinner was videos until bedtime.

Day 3142

I woke up at 8 and played games until 9.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After some surfing it was outside.

I drained the tanks and went to the shed to work on the Grom.  I bound the receiver to the transmitter, programmed the ESC, and dressed all of the wires.  That took longer than expected.  Programming the ESC involved a convoluted process using the power button.  dressing the wires required some careful routing to make sure that everything fit.  I was really proud that when I was finished the body fit almost perfectly.

When that was finished I put together the second set of car lights.  I don't really have a use for them, but I wanted to get them assembled when I still remembered how.  By then it was getting hot, so I retreated to the trailer.  Eventually it got up to 101 degrees.

I ended up doing some small tasks - clean the razor, bring in the clothes from the shed, load batteries into the battery box, etc.  When that was done I switched to surfing, followed later by videos.

We took Abby to the pet store.  She chewed he cone of shame and isn't eating well.  We bought another cone and some dog food enhancer.  She acted like a real shit.  That caused me to decide not to take Abby to Hooch's or John and Patty's.  She's too wired and they both have dogs.

Ellen fixed hamburgers for dinner.  After that was more videos.  The trailer stayed pretty comfortable even though it was hot as hell outside.

Tomorrow I'll probably program up the MT10.  That way I'll have two new rigs to run.  I also have the drone that John bought me two years ago.

Day 3141

I woke up at 7:30 and played games for a while.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  We didn't really have anything planned today except going to the grocery store.

After some surfing we dropped off the garbage at the dumpster and left for Woodburn.  We stopped at the post office on the way.  Gervais was having a 4th of July parade.  Luckily we were there before the parade.  We did walk around looking at the booths though.  We also stopped for fuel.

When we got home I decided to try out the trap gun.  We took Abby and walked to the trap field.  I shot 35 shells and did terrible.  The gun needs a little fitting.  Then we went home and hid out from the heat.  It got into the 90's.  It's supposed to be hotter tomorrow.

I did some surfing and watched videos.  I went out to take some stuff to the shed.  When I did I fell down the stairs.  I cut myself up on the gravel and torqued my knee.  It hurt for the rest of the day.  I hope it doesn't last.

Ellenfixed frozen pizza for dinner.  All in all it was a very uneventful 4th.

Day 3140

I woke up about 8 and played games for a while.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After breakfast I loaded the laundry into the car.  Ellen took it to the laundromat while I stayed home to work.

I had two things on the plate.  The first was to fix the shower sprayer holder.  It works well, but was starting to fail to hold the sprayer up.  I took it to the shed, spread the center part apart a little, and inserted a lock washer.  Hopefully that will cause enough friction to hold the sprayer up.  Tine will tell.

The second thing was to fix the front wheel on the sprayer.  It's always been a pain in the ass.  The rotating wheel catches on the mount that I'd built.  That makes dragging the sprayer around in the gravel ery difficult.  It's just poor design, but I'd never gotten around to fixing it.

I started by trying to keep the current design that used U bolts.  I tried to remove the interference by grinding the ends of the bolts and using thinner nuts.  Unfortunately I ran out of threads on the U bolts.  The effort turned out to be just a waste of time.

Plan B was to build a new mount.  I started by using aluminum, but the parts I was using were too weak.  Then I used steel.  It was harder to cut and drill, but much stronger.  Removing the old mount and attaching the new one was made a lot harder because all I had to hold the sprayer was the two plastic sawhorses.  The sprayer kept falling off.  It was 2 and I was tired by the time I was done.

I went back inside and had a late lunch.  Ellen said the slow leak below the kitchen sink had started again.  I cleaned up the area and put down paper towels.  We'll see.  Then I sat down to watch videos.  That turned into a nap.  When I woke up I continued to watch videos until dinner.  Ellen fixed hamburgers.

After dinner was more videos followed by an early bedtime.

Day 3139

I woke up at 5:30 because the power went off.  That stopped the CPAP.  I tried to go back to sleep, but I couldn't.  Since it was only a half hour before I was going to get up I just got up early.

I fed the cats and got ready to go.  We left a little after 6.  The trip was smooth sailing until we got to the rest stop.  Then things slowed down to under 30, but they didn't stop.  They speeded up again once we were past Wilsonville.  It's good that we left early though.  I could see that were such that traffic was going to get snarled in 15 to 30 minutes.

We made it to the vet a little after 7.  We were supposed to be there at 7:30.  They opened the doors a little early and we dropped off the dog.  Then we went to Tom's Pancakes for breakfast.  We got the timing right and there was plenty of room.  We had a good breakfast and sat there surfing until 9:30.  Then we went to John and Patty's.

We spent the rest of the morning and the first part of the afternoon talking.  I think we solved all of the world's problems.  Patty fixed ham sandwiches for lunch.  They vet called about 3 to tell us to pick up Abby.  Apparently everything went well.  I picked up the 22 and the trap gun before we left.

We drove back to the vet.  Traffic was building on the surface streets and there was a wreck on I5 at Tualatin.  That meant another trip through Newberg.  Traffic down to Newberg seemed a little lighter than last time, but I kept hitting the lights bad.  Traffic out of Newberg was heavier, but moving well.  We got home at 5.

We fed the cats and tried to feed Abby, but she wasn't interested.  I drained the tanks and then stated watching videos.

Abby was very weird the whole evening.  I think she was stoned.  She eventually ate his dinner after several false starts.  She also wanted to go out continually.  I'm hoping that things are better tomorrow.  I feel sorry for her.

I didn't eat dinner, just a couple of snacks.  I quite videos about 9 and spent the rest of the evening surfing.

Day 3138

I woke up a little before 8 and played games for a while.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  That was followed by surfing.  Eventually we left for errands.  We took Abby with us.

The first stop was a short one.  I left my shell bag and gun case at a shoe repair place.  When I asked when it will be done he said "I'll call you".

From there we drove to the pet store on Market.  The GPS had us drive through parts of Salem that we'd never been through before.  It was a pretty direct and traffic free route though.  We bought cat food and a dog treat there.  The last stop was the post office to pick up packages.  After that it was home.

When we got back I had leftovers for lunch.  Then I opened the packages.  One was a bag containing the stuff I'd thought had gone to Texas.  It was just VERY late.  At least this one contained the rulers.  I took everything out to the shed and applied the heat sink paste that had come.  I cleaned up the workspace and that was all.

I went back inside and surfed for a little while until it was time to go to Costco to order hearing aids.  What can I say?  I ordered them.  They'll take a month to get here.  Then we spent some time wandering around Costco.  We bought a few items.  The only special one was another $400 hair dryer for Texas.  At least it was cheaper than the normal price.

We stopped at Hops n Drops on the way home for an early dinner.  It was happy hour, but the bill was still $40.  Fuck Biden.

When we got home we fed the animals and set down for videos.  That lasted until bedtime.  We went to bed early because we have to get up at 6 tomorrow to take Abby to the vet.
