Day 1771

We got up about 8 today.  After pet stuff and breakfast I went out to work.  The first task was to put the door on the Ranger and get to ready to store.  I went to the gas station and bought a gallon of gas and some Stabil.  I put them in the Ranger when I got back.  Then I got out the car so I could wash it.

I had to wash the car by myself.  For some reason Ellen decided that the only time available to clean her gun was this morning.  The hours upon hours she's spent playing games this last week just wouldn't do.  She finished with her gun about the same time I finished the car.  I handed her the wax stuff and told her to have fun.

I cleaned up all the car wash tools.  I also put the extra water in the truck bed and added DEF to the tank.   Then I put the dog and the charger in the Ranger.  I drove the Ranger around the course to make sure the fuel system had Stabil in it.  Then I parked it by the charging shed and plugged in the charger.  I left the key with the desk girl.  I'll talk to Dave tomorrow to make sure everything is OK.

Lucy and I walked back to the trailer.  Ellen was done waxing, so I moved the car into the car port.  Ellen came out and put peppermint cotton balls everywhere in the car while I hooked up the battery maintainer.  Then we put on the car cover.

By then it was after one.  We got in the truck and went to the laundromat to wash the car wash towels.  We ate at AC Greasy and went to Safeway while that was being done.  We got home about 3.  I was really tired.

The rest of the afternoon was surfing and TV.  Ellen fixed stirfry for dinner.  After dinner was more TV.  We went to bed early.  We have to get up at 7:15 tomorrow to go to Ellen's eye appointment.

Day 1770

We got up at 8, did the pet stuff, had breakfast, and went to the laundromat.  The time at the laundromat was the same old same old.  After that we took the laundry home, picked up the dog, and left for Hooch's.

Martha texted us on the way asking that we buy some sanding blocks (she's sanding the deck).  We stopped at Home Depot and got them.  We stopped at Safeway and got a cherry pie and a chocolate cake.

The kids were "in school" (on the web) while we were there.  We spent about 4 hours talking to Hooch and Martha.  We left about 3.

Dan Mitchell lost the reel we gave him (attached to a pole).  We stopped at Cabela's and bought him another as a present.  We also got a really late lunch at Wendy's.  Traffic was slow on 217 through Beaverton.  It was stop and go from Tualatin to past Wilsonville.

We got home at 5.  There was no dinner, just some snacks.  Ellen went out and added a patch to the back side of the Ranger door.  I think it will hold and wear well.

The rest of the evening was TV, surfing, and games.

Day 1769

We didn't get up until 9:30.  I can't believe it was that late.  After pet stuff and breakfast I went out and washed the Ranger.  I found a tear in the door that will have to be fixed before we leave.  I'm sure the shipper wouldn't accept it otherwise.

When I was finished I took the Ranger storage unit to the truck to take it to Texas.  I had to rearrange a lot of stuff to make it fit.  When I went to close the rolling cover it jammed.  It took awhile to unjam it.  The cause was a missing nylon standoff the cover stop.  I had something that sort of worked, but it wasn't ideal.

We went to Woodburn after waiting half an hour for Ellen's asshole to quit giving her grief.  The hardware store had a standoff.  It wasn't the right size, but I could make it work.  BiMart had the fishing line and needles that Ellen needed to sew up the door.  She got to work on it as soon as we got home.  The result looks really nice, but it took her at least two hours.

After that Ellen watched chick flicks and I surfed.  Ellen fixed BLT's for dinner again.

After dinner was more surfing and chick flicks.

Day 1768

We got up at 9, did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  Then we got out all of the shooting stuff.  Gerry was supposed to meet us at 10, but he was a little late.  So we surfed until he showed up.

We shot the whole course with Gerry.  It was the normal thing, shooting whatever we thought was interesting.  I shot fairly well, but there were a couple of targets that I couldn't touch.  I was sore by the tired by the time we were finished.

We put the guns away.  I went out and got the caulking stuff ready.  I also removed some rust that was on my gun's receiver.  I'm going to have to get some Flitz to completely fix it.  Then I climbed up on the shed roof and used the roof caulk to double seal the vent.  Hopefully that will take care of the leak.

By then I was really sore and tired, but there was still one thing to do.  The dog needed a dogacure.  She wasn't very cooperative.

When we were finished we went to Hops and Drops for a late lunch.  It was happy hour, so we had their appetizers.  Afterwards we looked at Bed, Bath and Beyond and Lowe's for Flitz.  No luck.

When we got home I went directly to the recliner.  Then it was a little TV and a nap.

There really wasn't a dinner.  Ellen cut up an apple.  I had a roll and some cake.

After dinner was more TV and some surfing.  I tried to read, but I was too tired.

Day 1767

We got up about 9, did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  Then I went out to spread the Casoron.  I did two things first: put the remaining small items in the basement and put Hooch's stuff in the car.

It wasn't raining today, but there was a breeze.  the breeze actually helped with the Casoron application.  I just pointed the spreader down wind and moved backwards aor sideways.  I had enough to cover everything I wanted.  There was a little left over to do a double application on some strategic spots.

When that was done ti was time to do errands.  I had to go to Lowe's to get some materials to stop the leak around the fan in the shed.   I ended up buying two types of caulk and a tub of Flex Seal paste.  Then we stopped at the pet store to get some calming scent for the cats.  It seems to make Devon feel good.  The last errand was Baumann's so I could get some chocolate covered espresso beans for the trip.

I was planning on going home after that, but Ellen wanted to go to the Salem farm store.  So we drove back down south.  After that we went to Roth's because it was close.  Then we finally went home.

I climbed up on the roof and cleaned the area around the vent.  Then I had to wait for it to dry.  I went inside and used on of the tubes of caulk to seal the inside edges around the vent.  Then I went back to the trailer to wait for the outside to dry.

After a couple of hours the roof was dry, so I went out and applied the Flex Seal to the outside of the vent.  It seemed to be good stuff.  We'll see.  I was disappointed that the container was only 4/3 full.  Also it had some type of rope thing in it that took up volume.  I think that was a manufacturing error.  I barely had enough to do the job.  I finish up with the second type of caulk on the outside tomorrow.

When I finished the roof it was a brilliant afternoon.  It was warm and sunny with no clouds.  I decided to shoot.  I shot 75 rounds.  That was enough.  I shot fairly well, but the targets were kind of easy.

Ellen fixed BLT's for dinner.  After dinner was TV.

Day 1766

We didn't get up very early today because there was a big storm.  It was raining hard and blowing very hard.  The wind blew most of the day.  It rained most of the day.  Sometimes it was hard and sometimes light.  At the strongest it reminded us of Texas.

I needed to get stuff done.  I couldn't do the Casoron like I planned, but I could clean the inside of the car.  I left it in the carport.  I still got wet stringing the power cord and taking things to/from the shed.  Ellen came out to help, which shortened the process.

When I was finished I went to the club.  One of the sunglasses I ordered finally came.  Ellen tried to pay for it, but couldn't find out how to do it.

After that we basically hid out from the storm for the rest of the day.  Lunch was sandwiches followed by a nap.  When I woke up I felt like coffee, so we went to Dutch Brothers.

When we got home it was TV.  Ellen fixed chicken for dinner.

After dinner was TV and surfing.  It was still raining off and on when we went to sleep.

Thursday, September 24, 2020

Day 1765

We got a late start today, 9:00.  After pet stuff and breakfast we left for John and Pattys.  We stopped at Willsonville on the way up for gas.  It took over 11 gallons, one of the largest fill ups we've done on that car.

Speed on I-5 was crazy.  I was in a group of cars doing 90.  We were passed by a couple of cars that were going over 100.  We made good time.

When we got to John and Patty's we talked for a while.  Then John took us out to show off his work.  He's add some impressive brick fence posts for the entry to the trailer storage area.  Then we went back inside to talk some more.

Eventually we ran out of talk subjects so everyone got out their devices and started discussing things they found on the internet.  It was fun.

Patty fixed spaghetti for dinner.  It was good.  After that we talked/surfed until 8.  Then we said our goodbyes and left.

When we got home it was TV and surfing until bed time.  Cooper got out and decided to lead me on a long chase.  The owl was hooting in the trees by the pond, so of course that's the direction Cooper headed in.  I did get him eventually.  After that it was nice to have a day without work.

Day 1764

I got up about 8:30.  I went outside to get the dog food and got distracted.  I decided to look at the truck bed before going back inside.  I moved the lawn chairs and that's when I discovered the moiuse nest.  It was made of dried grass and about the size of a loaf of bread.  A mouse ran ouot of it and hid under the trailer hitch.

I got everything out of the front of the truck and used a shovel to throw the nest off the tailgate.  There were about 6 baby mice in it.  Then I used the vacuum to clean out all of the grass that had blown around.  The mouse had peed in the corners of the truck bed.  It had stained the bed liner.  Gasoline doesn't stain that stuff.

After clean up I spent some time rearranging things and loading some stuff we'll need into the truck bed.  By the time I was finished it was after 10 and time to go get the guns.  I gave the dog food to Ellen and left.  No breakfast.

I loaded up the first load of guns and cases in the Ranger and took them to the trailer.I filled up the space under the bed, the basement, and part of the area under the sofa.  I'd run out of cases, so I left to buy some.  I ended up at Bi-Mart, Big-5, and Wally World.  I bought 2 socks and two cases for $10 a piece.  I also got a happy meal for lunch.

When I returned to the club Dave met me and said he wanted me to remove the safes by next year.  He "needs the space".  He made sure to offer to buy them.  I told him no problem.  I loaded up a second load and took them to the trailer.  That filled up the sofa and part of the area behind the recliners.  I made one more short trip to get a couple of more for behind the recliners.  Then I was out of cases again.

I managed to get about 1/3 of the long guns.  That still leaves quite a few, but I should be able to get then all in the trailer next year.  It will be a tight fit though.

On the way home I met Gerry.  We talked about his prostate treatment.  He mentioned that he might want to buy Ellen's old MX-8 skeet gun.  I told him we'd give him a price.

I was really tired when that was all done.  I did a little surfing and then the sewer guy showed up.  No rest for the wicked.  I got the tanks dumped and then took a shower.  I'd gotten hot and sweaty moving the guns.

Ellen fixed steak for dinner.  After dinner it was TV and a movie.

Tomorrow we got see John and Patty.  I need a day off.

Tuesday, September 22, 2020

Day 1763

We got up a little late today - about 9.  We did the pet stuff and then went to do the laundry.  Since we didn't have breakfast we went for donuts while it was running.  When the laundry was done we stopped at Wells Cargo for traveling money and Safeway for groceries.  Then we went home.

We needed to get the will and the Ranger title out of the safe deposit box, so we immediately went back to Woodburn.  This time we took the car and the dog.  Ellen went inside to get the papers while I used the drive through to cash some check that had come in the mail.  Then we went to Staples in Keizer to copy the will.  I took Lucy to the pet store for cat food while Ellen got copies of the will.  Then we went home.

It was after 2 by the time we got home.  We immediately started washing and waxing the truck.  The thing is huge.  It took us over 3 hours to do it.  The time was a little longer because the "hybrid" ceramic wax we used required two coats.  We were both really tired by the time we were done.  I'm sore.

Dinner was leftovers.

After dinner was surfing.

Tomorrow isn't any better, we have to go get the guns.

Monday, September 21, 2020

Day 1762

I'm not sure when we woke up or when we got out of bed.  It wasn't early though.  After pet stuff and breakfast I went outside.  There's 11 days before we leave, so there's things to do each day.

I started out working on wiring the truck.  I got the light socket prepped.  I also measured the  size nut I needed with calipers (10mm).  Then I installed the tap in the driver's side fuse box.  That's when I discovered that every unused circuit in the box was always on.  I removed the tap, closed the box, and installed the tap in the passenger side box.  It's also always on.  That officially ends my attempt to install a dashboard camera in the truck.

The next task was to clean the inside of the truck.  It hasn't been cleaned since we left Texas.  The ash had made it especially dirty.  I used the various potions from Audi (glass, leather, and interior cleaner).  They all worked fantastic.  Ellen helped a little.

By then it was after 2.  I hooked up the Ranger to the battery charger and went in for lunch.  I was a little sore.  After lunch it was surfing followed by TV.

Ellen fixed Thorny Dean for dinner.  After dinner I took Lucy for a walk.  Both of us did pretty well but I only did half the circuit.  We'll see how I feel tomorrow.

My plan right now is to wash and wax the truck tomorrow.  Wednesday will be move the guns.  Thursday will be see John and Patty.  Friday will be clean the inside of the car and put down the Casoron.  Saturday and Sunday will be recreation.  Monday will be wash the Ranger.  Tuesday will be see Hooch.  Wednesday will be wash the car, put it away, and take the Ranger to the club.  Thursday will be Ellen to the doctor and prepare to leave.  Friday will be leave.  It will be a busy time.

Day 1761

We got up about 7 and played games for about an hour.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.  We surfed for a little while and then Ellen went to shoot.  I continued surfing.

I got tired of surfing and went out to the shed.  I tried to use the bolt size card to determine what six nut I needed for the ground wire connection on the truck.  It was too tight in the wheel well to use it correctly, but I thought I got a good measurement.  I also used the shop vac to clean up the small range case for Hooch.

I was planning on going to see Hooch, but when I called he said they were in Sun River.  We'll have to see them just a day or two before we leave.

That was all I could do, so I went back inside to wait for Ellen to finish.  When she came back we left for errands.  We stopped at the post office. Then it was an auto parts store for car wax and a lighter plug for the truck.  We also stopped at the hardware store for metric nuts.  I got 4, all the same size but different thread types.  The last stop was Shari's for lunch.

When I got home I tried the nuts.  They were too big.  Tomorrow I'll try measuring them with a caliper.

It was a nice, clear, sunny afternoon.  We went out to the side of the trailer and Ellen gave me a much needed haircut.  Then I sat out in the chair and read a book.  When I went back inside the trailer the stained glass cat on the trailer door fell apart.  I took the pieces to the shed and installed screws in the frame to fix it.  Then I glued the dividers in.

Ellen fixed pork chops for dinner.  After dinner it was TV.

Saturday, September 19, 2020

Day 1760

I woke up at 6:30 and couldn't get back to sleep.  So I played games until about 8.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.  The air is clear for the first time in days.  It's really nice.  The sun even shown for a little while in the afternoon.

Ellen didn't shoot until noon, so we spent the whole morning surfing.  She left for the club about 11:30.  I did a little more surfing and then went out to work on the truck.

The wire fishing thing I bought at Harbor Freight worked great.  It only took a few minutes to fish the wire through the truck console.  I think I spent mere time looking for suitable wire than I did fishing it.  When the wire was strung I soldered a connector on one end of the positive lead.  I have to get the right type of connector for the negative lead.  I also figured out how the power tap works - there's no documentation.

That's as far as I got.  The next step will require Ellen to help.  All she needs to do is hold test leads.

The truck project didn't take long.  After that it was more surfing.  When Ellen came home we switched to TV.

Ellen fixed stew for dinner.  After dinner I watched a movie that I recorded months ago.

I may go see Hooch tomorrow.  There's only one more weekend after this before we leave.

Friday, September 18, 2020

Day 1759

We woke up before 8.  It rained hard at times overnight.  There wasn't any sign of smoke and visibility was twice what it had been.  There was no reason to get up though.  The boy scout shoot is on and the place was mobbed.  So we played games until almost 10.

Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.  After that it was some internet shopping.  I needed blades for my razor.  They are over a year old.  I looked for blades on Amazon.  They cost $65.  A new razor was $99.  However, amazon wasn't going to ship it (on Prime) for a week.  I looked up Target.  They had one for the same price at Keizer in stock.  So we went there and bought it.

We also stopped for lunch at Hops and Drops.  It might be the last time we eat there before we leave.  Then we went home.  We stopped at the club, but there wasn't anything interesting there.

The weather was a little strange.   It was getting warm and almost sunny by the time we got home.  However, you could see a dark bad coming up from the south.  We couldn't tell if it was smoke or rain.  It turned out to be rain.  I started raining pretty hard (at least for Oregon).  The rain lasted for three hours.

We watched TV and I napped.  Dinner was leftovers.

After dinner was more TV.

Ellen is shooting tomorrow.  I might work on the truck.  I spent a little time twisted in the back seat of the car digging out food from between the sheets.  That was enough to make my scar hurt tonight.  I really hope it's better in two weeks or traveling in the trailer is going to suck.

Thursday, September 17, 2020

Day 1758

We got up at 7:30, did the pet stuff and left for the club.  We got Ellen registered and bought $500 in tickets as well as her $175 entry fee.  Then I went back to the trailer.  After two days of activities The area below my scar is sore.  I wanted to give it a rest.

I ate breakfast and lunch while Ellen was shooting.  I spent the rest of the time surfing.  She called to say they were done about 1:30.  I went back and watched her eat lunch.  Then we sat through the awards and the ticket drawing.  We had bought 90 regular tickets and 7 white tickets.  We won one red ticket item.  Ellen won another red ticket item from a ticket she got shooting the flurry.  That wasn't much of a return, but we didn't care.

Amazon has had the second pair of sunglasses stolen, so we went to the Outlet stores to look for some.  Most of the stores were closed because of the smoke.  Then we drove to a Target store in Salem.  I lucked out and got the lightweight hoodie I was looking for.  The last stop was Safeway to buy pizza for dinner.

When we got home Ellen fixed the pizza.  After dinner was TV.

I'm still a little sore.  I'll decide tomorrow whether or not I want to do anything.

Wednesday, September 16, 2020

Day 1757

I'm not sure when I woke up, but I played games for quite awhile.  I finally got up alittle before 10.  With all the smoke there's no real reason to get up.

After pet stuff and breakfast I went out to work on the Ranger.  I removed the air filter - it was filthy.  I also removed the battery.  The positive battery clamp was corroded.  It took two shots of cleaner followed by the Dremel to get it clean.

We took the garbage to the dumpster in the car.  The Shot For A Cure people were at the club, so we talked with them for awhile.  Contributions are down about 20% this year.  Ellen is going to shoot tomorrow, I still can't.

When I was finished we went to Cycle Country for new parts.  They wanted $130 for the battery and $50 for the filter.  What a rip off.  The next stop was Harbor Freight where I got a tool to fish wire in the truck.  Ellen wanted to stop at Roth's, so we did.  I stopped at Carhartt's to see if they had a new sweatshirt.  They didn't.  Ellen wanted to stop at Target.  Amazingly they had a light sweatshirt.

I put the battery and filter in the Ranger when we got back.  It runs fine.  Today's activity made me too tired to do anything else.  The are below my scar hurts.  It's an "inside" kind of hurt that has me a little worried.

The rest of the day was TV and surfing.  Ellen fixed stir fry for dinner.  It was good, as usual.

Tuesday, September 15, 2020

Day 1756

I woke up about 6 and couldn't get back to sleep.  So I played games until abouit 8.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.  After that we left to do the wash.

I took the truck so I could set up the CTS2.  I spent quite awhile getting it the way I wanted it.  One of the parameters I wanted was in the original setup, but went away in the new setup.  I'm confused and a little disappointed.  It's not really that important though.

When the wash was done we drove down to the pet store to stock up on pet food for the trip.  I think we have most of what we need now.  We also stopped by the post office and picked up the stuff I ordered to wire in the dash cam.

When we got home I went out to wire in the dash cam.  It turns out that I need a tool to thread the wire under the dash.  A wire coat hanger would do.  I'll have to get one.  That was a bust, so I rearranged all of the stuff in the basement.  That gives me room for the rifles I'll be taking back.

By the time I was finished with that my chest was hurting a little.  I may wear my girdle when I'm working for awhile.  I had a sandwich for a late lunch.

After lunch it was surfing and TV.  I might have had a short nap.

Ellen fixed tacos for dinner.  After dinner was TV.

Monday, September 14, 2020

Day 1755

We woke up at 8.  After pet stuff we left for the vet.  It wasn't a foggy as the last two days, but visibility was a quarter mile at most.  In spite of that people were going 80 on I5.

We got up to the vet and sat outside for awhile.  They took the cat in, looked at him, and called us.  Yes the vet has swallowed the Chinese flu bullshit hook, line, and sinker.  They said the cat has an eye infection, not curable but treatable.  He may have had it since he was a kitten.  They gave us some eye drops.

After that we stopped at the French bakery.  We haven't been there in almost a year.  I bought breakfast, coffee, and some pastries.  We also stopped at Freddie's on the way home for some milk.

When we got home I surfed for awhile.  I decided to email Edge about CTS2 support for my truck.  They replied in less than half an hour.  They said to hook up the CTS2 and update it.  Updating took almost 2 hours.  When I took it out it recognized the truck.  I still need to set it up, but that took some planning.

I went inside and planned out the setup.  By that time it was dinner time - Ellen fixed ah Chinese shrimp bowl thing that we got at Freddie's.

After dinner was surfing while Ellen watched chick flicks.  She must have watched 3 or 4 today.

I'm a happy camper about the CTS2.  If I get the parts on Wednesday I'll hook up the dash cam and the truck will be ready for the trip south.

Sunday, September 13, 2020

Day 1754

I think I woke up about 8.  It was just as foggy and cold as it was yesterday.  So I went back to bed.  I dozed for a long time.  I'm not sure when I actually got up, but it was probably about 10.  After that it was pet stuff and breakfast, followed by some surfing.

We needed some more cat food and toilet paper.  We're starting to stock up for the trip back to Texas.

The dog had a good day.  We took her to the dumpster followed by a drive around the course.  The smoke was really bad.  After that we went to the pet store where she got a snack.  We went to Wally World for toilet paper.  We got the last two packages.  Finally we stopped for hamburgers.  I could only eat half of mine and a few fries.  I don't think my body likes hamburgers and fries anymore.  That meant Lucy got a lot of hamburger and some bacon.

When we got home it was reading and TV.  I think I took a short nap.  Dinner was left overs.  After dinner was TV and surfing.  I'm getting really bored.  If Ellen didn't have an appointment on the first we'd be out of here.

Saturday, September 12, 2020

Day 1753

I woke up at 8.  It was so smoky outside that you couldn't see the house form the trailer.  So I went back to bed and played games until 9:30.  Then it was pet stuff and surfing, followed by surfing.  Going outside was very unpleasant.  It was also cold, 50 degrees.  I've used the the fireplace the last two days to heat the trailer.  It's worked pretty well.

We surfed, played games, and watched TV until after noon.  Then we went to Safeway to get lunch meat for lunch.  The first of the hospital bills was in the mail.  It only covers the gall stone removal.  It was surprisingly affordable (art least the Medicare price was).  I thought the Medicare price was fair, too.

When we got back we had lunch.  Then it was surfing and TV.  Going outside was out of the question.  Shooting would have been fun though.  The smoke made for some challenges.

Ellen fixed pancakes and sausage for dinner.  After dinner was TV until I was tired of it.  Then it was surfing.

Friday, September 11, 2020

Day 1752

I woke up about 8:30, got up and did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  It was smoky, but not as much as yesterday.  I went outside and dumped the tanks.  It didn't smell too bad.

We ddin't have anything to do, so it was surfing and reading.  I decided to get the Chinese Lego truck running.  I had fun chasing the cats around the trailer for awhile.

Lunch was a sandwich.  After lunch I went outside to try to disconnect some more of the Ranger wiring.  By then the smoke had come back with a vengeance.  It was really unpleasant to breathe.  So I cut that sort and came back inside.

I ended up spending the rest of the day on TV and surfing.  Ellen fixed frozen Chinese for dinner.

I'm getting really bored, but there's really nothing to do.

Thursday, September 10, 2020

Day 1751

I woke up at 8.  The smoke from the fires is back in full strength.  It's really unpleasant to go outside.  So after pet stuff and breakfast it was surfing.

We needed some groceries, so after awhile we went to Woodburn.  The smoke was worse there.  We stopped at the post office on the way home.  One of the things we got was some wet dog food.  Lucy showed absolutely no interest in breakfast.

When we got home Ellen put some wet food on the breakfast food.  Lucy ate everything.  That made me feel good.  I'd been a little worried.  Later she cleaned her dinner bowl really quickly.

We didn't do anything for the rest of the day.  Going outside is really unpleasant. The rest of the day was periods of TV separated by periods of surfing and game playing.

Dinner was a frozen pizza.  The store had it buy one get on free, so we got two.  The pizza was really good.

Wednesday, September 9, 2020

Day 1750

I got up at 8 today, did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  We didn't do the wash yesterday, so Ellen left to do it.  I stayed home in case the sewer guy showed up.

The forest fires have blanketed the whole valley with smoke.  There's no daylight, only a glowing orange sky.  Going outside is like standing downwind of a campfire.  You immediately want to go back inside.  Ellen said it was worse in Woodburn.

I did take the garbage to the dumpster with the Ranger.  About halfway back Lucy quit trying to sniff the wind and sat down on the seat.  That's how bad the air was.

I didn't feel very good today, so I didn't eat lunch.  Instead I had a short nap.  Then I watched TV until the sewer guy came.  He was about 2 hours earlier than normal.  He said some people had cancelled and there was a lot fewer people out and about today.

I tried to use the sewer sprayer I'd bought to clean the sensors.  It doesn't seem to have done any good.  When I was finished we went to CVS.  Ellen needed drugs and we both needed flu shots.  When we drove by In-n-Out there were only about 5 cars in line.  The line's been a double line out to the street every time we've gone by.  So we stopped for a really late lunch.   It was great.  I even got a t-shirt.

We also stopped at Lowe's.  They didn't have a microwave we liked.  They also want almost $200 to install one.

The smoke had lightened up by the time we got home (5), but it was still pretty heavy.  We fed the pets and watched TV.

There was no dinner, just some snacking.  For some reason my asshole is working overtime.  I must have taken 5 or 6 shits today.

Day 1749

I woke up at 8, did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  After a little surfing it was time to leave.  We made good time driving up, the speed limit was 75.  We stopped at Costco and got Mom some candy.

We were almost an hour early getting to Touchmark.  We stopped at the nursery across the street and went to the cafe.  I had coffee and Ellen had breakfast.  Then we went to Touchmark.

The meeting was held in the garage because there was still a lot of wind.  Mom looked really well - better than we left last year.  Of course I'm not sure she recognized us.  It was also hard to communicate because she didn't have her hearing aids and the garage acoustics were terrible.  I asked if we could have the dog and they said yes.  Mom really liked petting Lucy.  The next people were a little late, so we got some extra time.  All in all it was a nice visit, much better than I thought it would be.

After that we went back to the nursery to shop.  We ended up buying another money tree and a pot to put it in.  Then we drove to John and Patty's.  We took 26 to 185th because I wanted to see how it had changed.

We spent until 8 at John and Patty's.  It was a replay of Sunday - a lot of talking and some surfing.  I'm afraid we delayed John's work.  Patty fixed us dinner again.  I'm feeling a little guilty about that.

We stopped for gas on the way home.  The car was almost down to a quarter of a tank.

When we got home we did a little surfing and some TV.

Day 1748

I got up about 9, did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  After that it was surfing.  the small tablet ran out of data for the month, so response is too slow to be usable.  I'm using the big tablet for most things now.

I went out to the truck and verified that all of the connections in the truck are live when the ignition is off.  That pretty much means the dash cam is useless.  I boxed it up to give to Hooch.

We had a $5 coupon for Best Buy, so we went there.  We bought some button batteries.  We didn't see anything else we liked except for a microwave we might put in the trailer if it fits.  We also stopped at a craft fair they had at the baseball field parking lot.  We bought some caramel corn.  It's very good.  The last stop was Roth's to get some peppermint oil to put in the car when we leave.  It's only three weeks until we go.

When we got home it was TV and some surfing.  Dinner was leftover Chinese.  About that time a heavy blanket of smoke rolled in.  You could barely see the train tracks.  It's from forest fires to the East.  The wind picked up to 20 mph.  That shook the trailer a little.

I'm feeling a little better.  I was going to go for a walk in the evening, but the smoke was too heavy.

Tomorrow we're going to see Mom.  It will probably be depressing.

Day 1747

I woke up about 8:30.  I didn't have a good night, more than a little pain.  I got up and hurried to do the pet stuff and have breakfast.  Then we left for John and Patty's.

We made great time.  Traffic was light and moving at about 80.  It took 17 minutes to go from 5 miles south of Donald to the Scholl's Ferry exit.

We had a great time at John and Patty's.  Of course I gave them the whole story of the surgery.  We did a lot of talking as well as some surfing.  At one point I took a nap.

We stayed until about 9.  Then we came home.  I'm sure I'll be tired tomorrow.

The trip back was fast, too.  We were slower down to Wilsonville, but after that it was 80 again.

Day 1746

I got up about 8, did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  After that it was surfing.  I had planned on going to Silverton, but my chest hurt.

We basically surfed most of the morning away.  I did go out to see about installing the dash cam.  That's when I discovered that the 12V lighter connection is unswitched.  The cam wants a switched one.  I'm not sure what to do about that right now.  The exercise did show that I needed to return one of the power cables I bought.

We left to return the cable.  I also stopped at CVS to get some more Tylenol.  I felt like Chinese, so we got some takeout at the place on Lancaster for dinner.

When we got back I took Lucy for a ride to the garbage and around the course.  She had a great time sniffing the wind coming into the cab.  After that it was the recliner for some TV and a nap.  I'm taking a lot of naps.

Dinner was the warmed up Chinese food.  It was pretty good, and there's enough for another meal.  After dinner was a couple of movies.  I got half way through the second before I decided I'd had enough TV.  I spent the rest of the evening surfing.

I think I'm almost completely recovered from over doing it on Tuesday.

Day 1745

I got up about 8, but played games for awhile before getting up.  Ellen did the pet stuff, I had breakfast.  After breakfast we surfed for a little while before leaving for the dentist.

We both had our teeth cleaned.  I don't need any work, Ellen needs a crown.  Then dentist wants to rebuild my front teeth.  I'll probably do it next year.  I had my teeth cleaned first.  Afterwards I went over to the coffee shop for coffee.  Then I walked around beautiful downtown Beaverton.  They have really yuppified it.

It was about 1:30 when we left to go home.  217 and I5 were parking lots - Friday afternoon of a 3 day weekend.  We ended up getting off at Tigard and taking back roads to Wilesonville.  It was still slow due to traffic - especially going through Tualatin.  We stopped at Sonic for a late lunch and made it home about 3.

I waked to the club to get my sunglasses.  They weren't there.  Amazon said they were lost.  I guess I'll have to order another pair.

All the waling today made my chest start to hurt, so the rest of the afternoon was TV in the recliner.  Ellen fixed Hamburger Helper for dinner.  It wasn't that good, kind of tasteless.  That isn't her fault.

After dinner was a little more TV and some surfing.

Day 1744

I got up a little before 8 today.  I called Joe at 8.  He said bring the truck over.  I left after doing the pet stuff.  Ellen followed in the Audi.  She had to clean up the cat box mess that the cats made last night.

I left the truck at Joe's.  We stopped at Boumann's.  I got a coffee and we bought a small plant.  Then we went to Safeway.  I wanted to get some Baked Cheetos.  Unfortunately Safeway was having a sale on them and they were sold out.  We stopped at the Mexican bakery on the way home.  They only make Mexican pastries now.  We picked out two we thought would be good (they were).

I was hurting by the time we got home.  I haven't recovered from yesterday's over exertion.  I did a little surfing and then sat in the recliner.  Eventually I felt human enough to move my shooting stuff from the old bag to the new one from Cabela's.  The new bag is great.

I still felt crappy so that's all I did today.  Later in the after noon I got the shits.  I shit 5 times in a row.  By the end there was nothing left.

Ellen fixed fish and hash browns for dinner.  It was good.  After dinner was TV until I got sick of it.  Then it was surfing.

Day 1743

I woke up at 8, but spent some time playing games before getting up.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.  After breakfast we left for TCGC.  Traffic was surprisingly light.

I met Hooch there and we did the paperwork for the transfer.  Unfortunately his driver's license is expired.  The state isn't issuing new ones due to the Asian flu.  That meant that the transfer was denied.  He found out later that he could make an appointment to renew it.  The next available appointment is at the end of October.

After that fiasco I went to the 100 yd range to sight in my rifle.  I had to do it at 50 yds, which is a long way for me without a scope.  I did manage to shoot a three inch group or so eventually.  I actually had fun.  I paid for it later though.  My incision hurt for the rest of the day.

We stopped at Cabela's to use up a gift card.  I got a nice range bag that's a little bigger than the one I got at the club.  It was a lot less expensive also.  Then we ate lunch at Fireman's.

We stopped for gas on the way home.  South of Wilsonville a lot of people were doing 80.  When we got home I put everything away.  I took some Tylenol and then sat in the recliner.  I fell asleep and slept until dinner time.

Dinner was leftovers.  After dinner was more TV.

Day 1742

I got up at 8, did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  Then we left to do the laundry.  It went like it always does.  Then we drove down to the GMC dealer to get a fuel filter for the truck.

We needed some water, so we stopped at Costco.  Surprisingly it wasn't that busy, even the gas station.  By then it was noon, so we stopped at an Arby's for lunch.  I liked yesterday's lunch so well I wanted another.

It was getting pretty warm when we got home.  I did a few small things.  I put the filter and dash cam power supply in the truck.  I drained the tanks.  I also got out the guns for Hooch.  We're going to transfer them tomorrow.

After that I sat down in the recliner.  I woke up in time for dinner.  Ellen fixed steaks.  I don't know where we got them, but they were good.  Ellen is starting to reduce the contents of the freezer in preparation for leaving.

After dinner was TV.  I went on a walk and managed to walk halfway around the club.  I was tired when I got back.
