Day 2591

I woke up at 8, played games for a little while, and then got up for pet stuff.  Then we went to pick up the truck.

The body shop did a great job on it, except they only put 36 psi in the tire.  We stopped at Jim's afterwards for breakfast and HEB for a few groceries.  I filled the tire to 74 lbs as soon as we got home.

It was about noon when we got back.  Melissa and John showed up from their shopping soon after we got home.  Melissa came over for lunch.  I worked on putting the winch I got for Christmas onto the large power wagon.  It went on pretty easily.  The Ellen made a video and sent it to Hooch.

John came over and we started watching football.  There were three college games today and we watched all of them.  Surprisingly they were all good games.

Ellen fixed BBQ chicken legs for dinner.  John really likes them.  I don't.  She also fixed cornbread, which Melissa really likes.

I didn't get around to gluing the floor back down.  Maybe tomorrow.  I got a new set of tires for the RC jeep today, so maybe I'll do those instead.

Day 2590

I woke up at 8, played games for a few minutes, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  Then I watched videos until Ellen left with John and Melissa to go to Trader Joe's.

After they left I went out to the trailer to work on the kitchen lights.  I collected all of the tools I needed from the garage and started on one of the lights.  I removed the old light and installed the base for the new one.  Then I put crimp connectors on the ceiling wires.  Finally I cut the wires on the two new lights and stripped them back.  That's all I could do without a second pair of hands.  Everyone was back for Trader Joe's, so I called it a day.

It was lunch time, so we all ate lunch together.  Ellen and Melissa had leftovers.  I had a HEB salad.  After that Melissa went back to the apartment for a while.  Ellen did hobbies and I surfed.

The water guy showed up early.  He worked on the water softener and then the reverse osmosis system.  He cleaned out the mechanism.  Hopefully that will get rid of the pipe hammering.

John and Melissa went to walk the dog.  They came back immediately with the gate opener power supply.  I installed it while they were gone.  It fixed the problem.

We surfed and watched videos until John and Melissa came over for dinner.  John and I watched a video while Ellen and Melissa made pork chops.

After dinner John and I watched a video and then the football game.  It got boring in the fourth quarter, so we started reading interesting things from our phones to each other.   It was fun.

Day 2589

I woke up a little after 8 and played games for half an hour.  After that it was pet stuff and breakfast.  Then I went outside to debug the gate problem.

I turned off the power to the gate (and wellhouse) and then removed the power supply.  I took it back to the garage to test it.  It's toast.  I turned the power back on and went to the house.  Ellen ordered a new one, it's due tomorrow.  She noticed that we ordered one 8 years ago.  Apparently they're expendable.

At one point he pipes started hammering.  I opened the cabinet below the sink and it was clear it was coming from the reverse osmosis system.  Ellen called and they'll come out tomorrow to look at it.

After that I surfed for a short time and then got out the small power wagon.  I started using it on the course I'd built.  I had to modify the course structures some. I'd just about got everything fine tuned when John and Melissa showed up.

We got in their car and went to the park on Beckett.  We took the path around it, about a mile.  That was a little too far for John's foot.  After that we went to the donut place on Brodie to buy John sugar donuts.  Then it was mighty fine for hamburgers.  The final stops were Lowe's (floor adhesive and a door seal) and the post office.

I didn't feel like gluing down the floor when we got home, so I played with the power wagon instead.  The new tires are wonderful.  They allow the truck to do some amazing things.  I liked them so much that I ordered some for the jeep.  I even got John to play with it.  He really got interested.

After that John and I watched videos. I showed him the pro RC racing.  He liked it as much as we did.  After that it was restoration videos and rock bouncing.

Dinner was leftovers.  That sounds bad, but there is a lot of good leftovers to choose from.

After dinner was more videos.

Day 2588

I woke up at 8, played games for a while, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After a little surfing I got out the RC stuff.

I decided to put together the 1/24 wheels and tires that I got for Christmas.  The wheels are the first beadlock ones that I've put together.  Each wheel had 6 really small screws.  Of course there were no instructions.  I ended up putting the first one together wrong and had to take it apart and start over again.  After that it was just a slow process because everything was small and there were a lot of screws.

I put the tires on the small power wagon when I was finished.  They are a huge improvement over the stock ones.  I was just going to try them out when John, Melissa, and Daniel came over for lunch.

We had lunch and talked for a while.  Everyone had their favorite leftovers.  A minor disaster struck, the internet went down.  That was OK, the phones still worked.  Ellen and Melissa got out hobbies and I put together a Lego car I got for Christmas.  John and Daniel surfed.

About 3 they left to go to the airport.  I took my work chair back to the garage.  I also turned off the heat in the well house and put up the light that was in the well head.

When John and Melissa got back they said that the gate wasn't working.  I went out to check on it.  It was beeping a "low battery" error.  I measured the battery, it was at 13.4V.  I put it on a charger anyway.  I couldn't really measure the charger, but it seemed to not be working.  I'm going to take things apart tomorrow.

Ellen fixed steaks and leftovers for dinner.  After dinner we talked, Ellen surfed, and Melissa worked on her hobby.

Just as they were leaving I discovered that the ice chest had leaked water under the floor.  I squeezed out all that I could.  I'll have to glue down some of the floor edging tomorrow.

We spent the rest of the evening watching videos.

Day 2587

I woke up at 8 and got up to do pet stuff and breakfast.  After breakfast I went to Central Market to pick up Melissa's cake.  Ellen gave me a few other items to pick up.  When that was done I went back home.

Everyone went to Circle C to walk the dogs.  I installed the shocks that I gave Ellen for Christmas on her mini-b.  They look like they'll work great.  I finished about the time everyone got back.  We left immediately to go to Salt Lick.  We stood in line for a while.  When we got to the front they said it would be a 1.5 hour wait.  Screw that.

We went to the takeout desk and ordered there.  They said it would be 20 minutes.  Sounds better.  We went across the street to the winery.  We drank until the food was ready.  Then we went back (Isaac and his girlfriend stayed at the winery).  We got the food and ate in the picnic area.  It's essentially the same as eating in the dining area.

Then it was back to the winery for more drinking.  Eventually we went home for cake.  John and I watched Die Hard while the others talked.  Ellen and Melissa did crafts.  Hooch called and we had a good talk.

There really wasn't any dinner.  When the movie was over we watched the football game.  It was on ESPN, so we had to stream it though John's phone.

When the game was done everyone went to bed.

Sunday, December 25, 2022

Day 2586

I woke up about 8:15, played games briefly, and then got up for pet stuff.  I did some cleanup, took out the garbage, and then left to get some groceries.

I thought I'd seen that HEB was open until noon.  It wasn't.  I ended up buying the ice at the gas station.  Nothing else I was looking for was available.

When I got back home I took out the recycle and set up the ice chest with ice.  After that I turned on the TV and watched some videos until the football game came on.  John came over and helped me watch it.

The nephews showed up about 2.  We all got drinks and then opened presents.  I think everyone got what they wanted.  Then we sat around watching football until time for dinner.  Ellen fixed both smoked turkey and ham.

After dinner everyone watch a NBA game that Daniel had money on.  He won.  After that everyone except me went back to the kitchen to play UNO.  I hate that game.  I watched videos and then more football.

When the UNO game broke up everyone went back to football for a while.  Then the kids went to the apartment.  John and Melissa are sleeping in the guest room.

John and I watched the rest of the football game.  It went into overtime and didn't end until almost 11.  Then it was off to bed.

Saturday, December 24, 2022

Day 2585

I woke up a little after 8 and played games for a while.  Then it wa up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After breakfast I decided to program the Fireteam.

I got on the web and printed out the instructions for binding and setting up the ESC.  Then I got out the rig and batteries.  The batteries didn't fit, so it was off to the garage for the Dremel.  Then I took off the battery box (8 screws) and carefully removed enough from it to make the batteries fit.  Then I put it back together.

When I tried to bind the receiver and transmitter it didn't work.  The instructions I had were for a different receiver/transmitter pair.  That's when I noticed that the transmitter was really primitive.  I decided to use my extra receiver that goes with my other good transmitters.  That was another trip out to the garage.

I got the receiver and transmitter paired and the ESC programmed pretty easily.  Setting the steering servo was a different matter.  I couldn't get it to act reliably.  I acted almost as if it didn't have enough power.  I was about to remove it and send it back when I noticed that I hadn't tightened the servo horn.  I had to remove the servo to do that.  When I reinstalled it everything worked fine and I finished programming its settings.

That's how a 30 minute job turned into a 4 hour marathon.

John and Melissa showed up while I was working.  I turned on the football game for John.  When I was finished I joined him.  We watched another game when that one was finished.

Ellen fixed salmon for dinner.

After dinner John and I watched Roadkill.

Friday, December 23, 2022

Day 2584

I woke up at 8, played games for a short while, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.

After breakfast I got out the RC stuff and put away the things that were delivered yesterday.  That didn't take ling, so then it was time to go to do errands.  We called John and Melissa and they wanted to come also.

We stopped at the post office and got the mail.  Then it was off to Central Market.  I ordered a cake for Melissa while everyone else shopped.  The place was packed of course.  It really didn't take that long to get checked out though.

The last stop was Walgreen's so Melissa could pick up some photographs.

When we got home we went our separate ways to put everything away.  I started watching videos on the TV.  Eventually John and Melissa came over.  Ellen and Melissa did crafts while John and I watched videos.

Ellen fixed shrimp from Central Market for dinner.  After dinner it was back to crafts and videos.  I showed John the Fireteam and then some videos of it in action.  He was amazed.

It was cold today, never getting above freezing.  It's supposed to be a little warmer tomorrow.

Thursday, December 22, 2022

Day 2583

I got up at 8, played games, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After breakfast I took a few more things over to the apartment.

I went back to the house and watched videos.  I couldn't get motivated to do anything.  A little after lunch the cold wave started to hit.  The temperature dropped from 50+ to below freezing in less than an hour.  There was a really strong wind also.

One interesting thing.  Years ago Devon dumped a Baby Yoda Lego off the desk and it shattered.  I found all by one part.  It was fairly big, but I couldn't find it after looking high and low.  Today I moved the bench next to the door and it was underneath there.  I reassembled the Lego

When it got down to the low 20's I went outside again.  I opened the gate for John and Melissa.  I also turned on the heater in the well house and put the trouble light in the well head enclosure.  I was glad I did.  By the time we went to bed the temperature was 15.

John and Melissa got here in the middle of the afternoon.  They came over once they were settled in.  We talked for a while and I demonstrated all the channels we have now.  We ended up watching a movie until dinner - leftover chili (they didn't know it was leftover).

After dinner I had to go pick up a package at the mailbox.  It was 19 degrees with a 12 mph wind.  I took the car.  On the way back the battery on the gate gave out.  I had to push it shut.

After dinner Melissa went back to the apartment to unpack and John and I watched football.

Wednesday, December 21, 2022

Day 2582

I woke up at 8, played games, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.

It was cold out today and I had nothing to do, so the whole morning was videos.  A little after lunch Melissa called to say that they'd be here tomorrow.  That sparked a flurry of activity.

I cleaned off my part of the kitchen table while Ellen did some unnecessary cleaning of the apartment.  Then I came over with some stuff for the refrigerator.  I plugged it in and turned on the water heater.  Then we both went back to the house.

I vacuumed the whole house except for the pinball room.  Ellen scrubbed the kitchen floor and counters.  When we were done the place was presentable.

We left for the post office and HEB.  We also stopped at Goodwill and dumped off the garbage sack full of stuff that we'd been collecting.  We got a whole lot of food at HEB.

When we got home it was feed the cats an videos.  Ellen fixed chili for dinner.  Bradley called just as I was finishing.  We had a great talk.  He suggested that the hammering could be a valve.  I suspect either the reverse osmosis system or one of the toilets.  I happened to walk in while the guest toilet was reloading itself.  That's probably the culprit.

I'd gotten a bunch of stuff from Amain today.  It included a really nice tool holder.  I spent quite a while putting the stuff away and loading up the tool holder.

After that it was videos for the rest of the evening.

Tuesday, December 20, 2022

Day 2581

I woke up at 7:30 and played games until 10.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After a little surfing we left for the Armadillo Bazaar.

Traffic was a little lighter than I thought it would be.  The Bazaar was really neat.  We bought a couple of things - a Damascus paring knife and a cool glass thing for the light box.  Then we went across the street to Black's for BBQ.  It was really good.

We made another short stop at the Bazaar and then drove to Trader Joe's.  It was packed.  The checkout line went to the back of the store.  We decided it wasn't worth the wait and left.

The last stop was HEB.  We bought a bunch of groceries so we wouldn't have to stop again.

When we got home it was videos.  I found some neat non-Ukraine ones to watch.

Ellen fixed loaded baked potatoes for dinner.  After dinner we watched videos together.  Usually she's on her computer.

Day 2580

A thunderstorm woke us up about 6.  There was a lot of thunder and it was LOUD.  Some of the thunderclaps shook the house.  It was raining hard also.

I went back to sleep when the thunder stopped and woke up at 8.

I got up immediately and did the pet stuff.  Then we left to take the truck to the body shop.  It was still raining really heavily.  Luckily the traffic was pretty light.

After that we went to Jim's for breakfast - they were closed.  We stopped at Waterloo instead.  When we were finished I went to the coffee place because it was45 degrees and raining.

There was really nothing to do today, so I spent most of the day watching videos.  Eventually I just had to do something, so I rearranged the plastic boxes that hold my RC parts.  There are several of them.  The result is a lot more organize containers.

Ellen fixed clam chowder for dinner.  After dinner I surfed while I watched the football game.  It was two under .500 teams, but at least they were evenly matched.

The pipes were hammering several times today.  It wasn't loud, but a couple of times it was fairly long.

Sunday, December 18, 2022

Day 2579

I woke up a little before 8, played games, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.

Today was a designated "don't do much" day.  Most of the day was spent watching videos.

I did do two things.  I changed the connectors on the batteries I bought for the Fireteam.  The process was one of those "fight me all the way" things.  It took a log longer, and a lot more effort, than it should have.  I also had to order some convertors from the XT90 connectors I use to the weird ones that ARRMA uses.

The second effort was to clean up all the stuff I had scattered on the bed in the guest room.  When I was finished everything was put away and the room is ready for use if necessary.  That took some time, too.

Ellen fixed a frozen bag dinner for dinner.  It was really good.

After dinner was football.  I read some old magazines while it was on.

Saturday, December 17, 2022

Day 2578

I got up at 7:30, played games for awhile, and then did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  After that it was out to the garage.

I started by cleaning out the garage.  Some stuff went to the well house and some to the garbage can.  Then I went out to the truck and cleaned off the back of the damaged wheel well.  That allowed me to put up a duct tape patch showing where the sheet metal crack was.  Finally I went back to the house and installed the new toilet seat.

When that was done we went on errands.  We stopped at Belterra for cat food, some blue loctite, and to return the Murphy's Oil Soap.  Then it was into town for the post office, more cat food (they were out), and Walgreen's.  After that it was home for lunch.

After that it was videos for a while.  Just like yesterday that got boring.  I decided to install a latch on one of the kitchen cabinet doors.  Cooper has been jumping up and opening it to get at the bread items we store inside.  That simple job took longer than it should have because of the cheap Chinesium screws that came with the latches.  They kept stripping, and one broke.  I ended up going back out to the garage and getting better ones.

While I was at the garage I decided to improve the ramp.  I took apart the front stand and reassembled it so that I could fold it flat underneath the ramp.  I'm really pleased with the result.

After that I went back to more videos, interspersed with a nap.

Ellen fixed stir fry for dinner.

After dinner was all videos until I got bored and went back to surfing.

One disturbing thing today.  The pipes were chattering several time today, both in the bathroom and the kitchen.  I may have even heard it once in the wellhouse.  Also, the pressure was down to 40 both times I checked.  I'm worried that the well is running dry.

Day 2577

I got up at 8, did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  After that it was time to leave to take Ellen to the doctor.

The doctor's office was two exits north of Parmer.  We took the truck because it needed to do a regen.  The load was 100%, but because it was cold, 40 degrees, it didn't start the regen until we were on Mopac.  It was still doing a regen when we got to the doctor's exit.  We ended up having to drive several more miles, on toll roads, to get back to the doctor's office.

I sat in the truck and played games while Ellen was at the doctor's.  I also used the new earphones I got during black Friday.  They work great.  I took her about two hours for the appointment.  When it was done we drove back south.

We stopped at Home Depot on the way back to get a light bulb for the refrigerator.  We also got a new toilet seat for the master bath.  We stopped at the donut shop to buy lunch and then went home to eat it.

After lunch I didn't have much in the way of motivation.  I watched videos, but eventually got bored.  That lead to me building a couple of more obstacles for the RC vehicles.  It will be interesting to see if they work out.

Dinner was frozen pizza.  It was a new type and was as good as a restaurant one.

After dinner the long awaited Murphy's Oil Soap came.  It was the wrong stuff.  Instead of the older stuff advertised (at $12) it was the new stuff - $3 at Wally World.  I'm sending it back.

After dinner was a movie and some more videos.

Thursday, December 15, 2022

Day 2576

I woke up at 8, played games for a while, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After breakfast I went out to the garage to finish the ramp.

I took quite a while to finish it.  Nothing really went wrong, but everything took more time than I thought.  I also had to take the stand apart and modify it slightly.  I'm pretty happy with the result though.  It isn't bad for not knowing what I was doing, how to build it, and making it up as I went.

When I was finished I put all of the tools away.  I still have to clean up, but I'll do that tomorrow.

I went into the house and had lunch.  After lunch it was videos.  Eventually that got old.  I decided to put together the new trailer lamps.  There was multiple ways to assemble them and the instructions sucked.  I did figure it out eventually.  The new lamps look nice, but they are bigger than the old ones.  They should work OK though.  I'll install them later.

I took some of the packing material and made some obstacles for driving the 1/24 RC trucks.  I'll see how they work after the glue dries.

Dinner was frozen stuff.  After dinner I started watching the football game.  The Seahawks sucked so bad that I turned it off.  I started watching fail videos.  Ellen likes them and started watching them with me.

Wednesday, December 14, 2022

Day 2575

I woke up about 8, played games for a while, and then got up with plans to work on the ramp.  The plans lasted until I was almost dressed.  Then the toilet started leaking violently.

The supply hose had come off the toilet tank and was rapidly flooding the bathroom.  Fortunately I got to it quickly and the shutoff valve broke.  Ellen an d I used most of the old towels to mop up the water.  When I looked at the hose the plastic coupler on the tank end had broken.

I finished dressing, did the pet stuff, and had breakfast.  Then I tried to remove the refrigerator bulb that was starting to burn out.  I couldn't get it out.  Eventually I had to get the strap wrench from the garage to loosen it.

I'd been planning to get some drugs at CVS, so we just left to do errands.  First stop was CVS to order the drugs because they were in Salem.  Then we stopped at the bank to put the Audi title in the safe deposit box.  After that it was the post office followed by Home Depot to get a new hose and a bulb.  The last stop was CVS to pick up the drugs.  The icing on the cake was I had to wait for them.

When we got home I replaced the hose.  It was an unpleasant job laying down under the toilet.  It seems to be working well.  Unfortunately the bulb we got was too big.  Ellen ordered the right size on Amazon.

After that I had leftover Calzone for lunch and then started watching videos.  I was too bummed out to work on the ramp.  Eventually that turned into watching Godzilla on the TV.

Ellen fixed pancakes and bacon for dinner.  After dinner I went back to watching movies.

Tuesday, December 13, 2022

Day 2574

I woke up about 8 today and played games until 10.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After that I hung up the heron picture.  Of course the place we picked had a 2x4 in the wall.  I had a sheetrock mount and had to go get the drill to mount the picture.

After that I went out to the garage to work on the ramp.  The first thing I did was mount the front brace mounts that I made yesterday.  That was a little difficult because I couldn't access one of the holes I needed with the drill.  Instead I drilled it blind (it worked).

Then I started cutting the pieces for the brace.  I had to flatten the ends of some of them in the vice.  All of the holes were drilled with the drill press.  I called it quits at 1:30 for lunch.  I ate and then surfed for a while.  Eventually I went back to the garage and finished the brace.  That took until 4:30.

I should be able to finish the ramp tomorrow.  All I have left to do is cut the side pieces down, install the front brace, and install the chains.  Hopefully it all goes well.

Ellen went to a party for the shooters at five.  I had leftover calzone for dinner.  After dinner I watched videos.

One depressing thing happened.  After dinner there was a pipe hammer session that lasted 10 seconds or so.  It's the first I've heard in a long time.  I thought the problem had cured itself.  Silly me.

Monday, December 12, 2022

Day 2573

I woke up at 7:30 and played games until a little after 8.  Then I got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After that I got out the tools and tried to do the last work on the Fireteam.  I got everything apart and then found out that the "high density" foam I'd purchased wasn't.  I put everything back together and away.  I've decided the foam isn't necessary, so the Fireteam is officially finished.

After that it was out to the garage to work on the ramp.  It was one of those days where everything went really well.  I had the pieces I needed to put wire on the Heron picture.  My Gorilla Glue repair worked great.  I had all the screws I needed in the right sizes.  All of the assembly went easily.  I ended up with the ramp surface attached to the frame.

I sat for a while and worked out how I'm going to do the front support.  I fabricated a couple of parts for it, but that was as far as I could go.  I need a whole bunch of hardware that I don't have.

I went back into the house and did a little surfing.  Then we left for hardware and groceries.  It was really foggy and misting - like Oregon.  I bought the hardware at ACE and we went to Dripping Springs for the groceries.  We also stopped at the pizza place there for a late lunch.

It was after 3 when we got home.  I still had the Heron picture to hang, but I'll do that tomorrow.  I did a little video watching and then had a nap.  I blame the mango margarita at the pizza place.  When I woke up I started a movie.

Dinner was leftovers.  After dinner the lamps for the trailer showed up.  They look like they'll fit really well.

Sunday, December 11, 2022

Day 2572

I woke up a little before 8 and played games until about 8:30.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  When that was finished I went out to the garage.

I measured and cut two of the 1x2's.  I also measured and cut the decking material.  When that was done I started screwing the 1x2/s to the side frames.  I got two done.  Unfortunately on the third I broke the "tail on one of the side frames.  I glued it with Gorilla glue.

That was the end of today's work.  I was going to fabricate the front brace, but I decided to wait until I have the ramp finished.  That way I'm not guessing on measurements.

When I got back to the house Ellen and I sat down to order new lights for the trailer kitchen.  After some searching we found some that will fit and look pretty good.  I ordered the last set Amazon had.  It wasn't easy to find what we were looking for.

Ellen got out the vacuum.  While she was doing that I used the carpet tape I'd bought a while back to tape down the cowhide rugs.  We'll see if they hold.  I was going to hang the heron picture, but I need to put a string on the back of it first.

After taking out two bags of garbage I called it quits for the day.  I felt a little guilty about not finishing the last thing on the Fireteam, but there's always tomorrow.

I did a little surfing and then switched to a movie.

Ellen fixed steak and tater tots for dinner.  It was really good.  After dinner was football and some more videos.  I only lasted until the third quarter again tonight.

Saturday, December 10, 2022

Day 2571

I woke up a little before 9 and played games until 10.  Then I got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After breakfast I got out the stuff to finish the lights on the Fireteam.

I took off one of the lights so I could match the screws for the last two.  They went together pretty easily.  Better yet, when I tested them everything worked.  The 8 total LEDs in front are really bright.  I routed all of the wires and then ran into a problem.  The screws for the roof sides didn't line up.  I had to put pressure on the roll cage to make them line up.  It was a three handed job.  I ended up with a flashlight in my mouth and the screw taped to the screwdriver.  I got them in though.

After that it was a little soldering and plugging a lead into the receiver.  At least this time I didn't have to file down the connector.  After that the lights were FINISHED.  I'll probably install some foam tomorrow.  At that point the Fireteam will be ready to run.

It was a little after 1 by the time I got everything put away.  I put the license stickers on the flatbed and the car and then we left for the Christmas craft show on Nutty Brown Road.  It was entertaining like last year.  We didn't find anything we wanted to buy except some Scottish short bread.  We'd bought it last year.  It's great.

We stopped at the BBQ place in Belterra for lunch.  For $17 i got enough food for two full meals.  I thought that was a bargain.

The car was low on fuel, so we stopped at the new gas station at Nutty Brown Road and 290.  It wasn't overly expensive.  Then it was home.

It was after 3:30 when we got home.  I decided to just watch videos.  At first it was Ukraine, but then it was a whole bunch of random stuff from tree cutting to flood damaged trailers.

Friday, December 9, 2022

Day 2570

I woke up at 7:30 and played games for a while.  Then I got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After a little surfing I went out to the garage to work on the RC ramp.

I worked on the ramp until after 11.  By then it was getting hot and muggy.  I managed to measure out and cut the two side pieces.  That doesn't sound like much, but it took time and effort.  I couldn't do much more because I needed some 1x2's to use for bracing.

I went back into the house and did some more surfing.  About 1 we decided to do errands.  I had to go to CVS.  Actually it turned out I didn't.  The stuff Dr. Cox recommended is over the counter.  Unfortunately CVS didn't have it.

The car and flatbed licenses were at the post office, so we stopped there.  We also stopped at the hamburger place for lunch.  The next stops were Lowe's for the 1x2's and HEB for bananas.

I was sweating a regen on the truck.  I didn't want to drive all over today.  The damn thing started to regen just as I drove through the gate at home.  Crap.

The screws for the Fireteam light were there, but I didn't feel like working on it.  Instead I watched videos.  That turned into a movie.  The web recommended it, but I thought it sucked.  I chose another one instead.

Dinner was frozen food partway through the movie.  Movies are long now days.  The all seem to be 2 to 2.5 hours long.  It takes a lot to keep my attention that long.

Day 2569

I got up a 9.  The auto body shop called saying that fixing the truck will be delayed by a week.  After that I got up for pet stuff and breakfast.

After breakfast I started work on the Fireteam lights.  Putting the lights together involved screwing 4 very tiny screws into each of the 4 lights.  Without my fine locking tweezers and Ellen's magnifying head band it would have been impossible.  With them it wasn't too bad.

Unfortunately the new lights didn't fit the holes I'd made for the lightbar in the roof.  I had to fill the holes with screws and punch new ones.  I also had to stagger the holes.  Everything was looking good until the last light.  The mounting screw stripped out.  It was the only one I had.  I had to pack everything up and order more from Amazon.  Crap.

That was the end of work on the Fireteam lights.  I put everything away and started watching videos.  That lasted through lunch and into the afternoon.  Then I decided to look into building a jump ramp for the RC vehicles.  I looked at some videos and got ideas on a design.  Then I went outside to the garage, wellhouse, and back storage.  I found enough materials to do everything except the 1x2 bracing.  I went back inside and did some refining of the design.  I might start to put some of the pieces together tomorrow while I wait for the screws from Amazon.

Dinner was frozen stuff.  After dinner I surfed while the football game was on.  I got bored with that in the 3rd quarter and went back to videos.

Day 2568

I woke up at 8 and played games for a short time.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After that I took out the garbage and put out the can.

I spent the morning surfing and watching videos on how to build a car ramp.  I also tried to run the drone I got.  After crashing into the walls a couple of times I decided it was an outdoor endeavor.  I was basically waiting until it was time to go to the doctor.  Ellen has a cold, so she didn't come with me.

Dr. Cox used the nitrogen on me again.  He hit my head, face, and both arms.  It hurt a lot.  He also gave me a prescription for some anti-skin cancer medicine.

When I was done there I went to the post office and Lowe's.  I bought 160 lbs of water softener salt.  I also priced out lumber.  It's incredibly expensive.

I stopped at the donut place on the way hoe for lunch for both of us.  I also stopped at HEB for a couple of items.

The Fireteam lights weren't here when I got home, so I started to play with the small power wagon.  It's really a fun vehicle and I had a great time chasing the cats with it.  It can now be considered complete.  It's a much better vehicle than the scx24.

Ellen fixed ham with macaroni and cheese for dinner.  I started watching movies because I was tired of videos.  I watched two.

Day 2567

I woke up at 8 and played games for a short time.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After that I went back to work on the lights for the Fireteam.  By then the new power supply was here.

I hooked up the new power supply and the lightbar still didn't work.  I fooled around with it some and determined that the lightbar is intermittent.  I put all of the stuff involved the the lights away and went on Amazon to order something else.  I found a set of four lights that i really liked the look of, so I ordered them.  They should be here tomorrow.

I got out the stuff needed to install the new parts on the Fireteam and got to work.  I probably started somewhere between 10 and 11.  I didn't get finished until almost 5.  I thought putting in the diff mount would be hard.  It turned out to be straightforward.  The back chassis brace went in quickly.  The front took a little time, but wasn't a pain.

The big problem was the servo, which I thought was going to be easy.  Putting the new mount together was easy, but took some time because of the number of parts.  Mounting the new servo was a real pain.  There are rubber servo mounts that had to be removed from the old servo and put on the new.  This took me over an hour.

The final pain was plugging in the new servo.  Arrma followed it's normal method of making standard things non-standard.  The receiver plugin slot was too small.  I had to go out to the garage and get a small file so I could file down the edges of the new servo's plug.  It was still a tight fit.

I also moved the battery box to the rear.  That's supposed to help balance.  We'll see.  After that it was just bolting the top brace back on and putting the tires back on.

The Fireteam is now ready to go except for putting foam in the rear bumper and putting on the chassis shield.  I may not put on the shield until I've run it.

Ellen fixed orange chicken for dinner.  After dinner it was a few videos and a movie.

 Day 2566

I woke up at 8 and played games for a short time.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After that I went back to work on the lights for the Fireteam.

I did some prefitting of parts to determine what size screws I needed.  Then we went over to ACE to get them.  We also stopped at Tomlinson's to get some cat food.  After that it was back home.

I got out the soldering iron and turned it on.  I forgot to remove the plastic tip guard.  That lead to turning it off and scraping off a bunch of melted plastic.  When I got it cleaned off I soldered the front light to the back lights to make one harness.  The front lights worked fine by themselves, but didn't work when connect to the back.  I cut the harness and retested the front lights.  They worked.

My theory was that the power supply wasn't powerful enough.  I went outside to get another from the well house.  I tried two, they both were bad.  One had worked before, so I'm confused.  I went inside and ordered a new one from Amazon.  Then I put everything away.  The power supply will be here tomorrow.  Hopefully it will work.

There was a package at the post office, so we went there.  We also stopped at Walgreen's to get double sided tape.  We also stopped at the park on the other side of HEB.  It looks like a good place to run the Fireteam and Kraton.  We stopped at Dominos on the way home to pick up sandwiches.

When we got home I fixed myself a drink.  I'm not sure why except that two days of problems with projects has depressed me.  Of course that made me sleepy.  I sat down to watch TV and just fell in and out of napping.

Dinner was the Dominos sandwich.  After that it was more videos until I got tired of them and went to bed early.

Sunday, December 4, 2022

Day 2565

I woke up at 8, played games for a while, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After a brief stint of surfing I went out to the garage to complete some tasks.

The first was installing the new shower head holder in the trailer.  This should have been a simple job, but it turned into a nightmare.  First, the holes for the new holder weren't' the same as those of the old.  Pretty simple, drill a new hole.  Then the new holder's arm wouldn't hold up the shower head.  Crap.

I spent the next two hours trying various ways of tightening up the holder arm so that it would hold up the shower head.  Nothing worked.  Finally I said screw it.  I drilled a hole in the ball end of the holder arm and inserted a pin.  The arm can't move like it did before, but it holds the shower head straight.

After that I did a bunch of little things.  I put magnetic tape on one of the RC assembly stands.  I put a lot of stuff that I'd dumped on the bench away.  I also sorted a bunch of screw bits that were thoroughly mixed up.  Finally I drilled holes in the Fireteam lightbar mounts so that I could mount it to the body.

It was 1:30 when I went back to the house for lunch (leftovers).  The parts for the Fireteam arrived, but I was too tired and discouraged to work on anything else.  I watched videos instead.

Ellen fixed steak for dinner.  After dinner I watched the first half of the football game.  At halftime I decided to mount the lightbar.  That turned into a cluster fuck as bad as the shower head holder.  I ended up having to take the back lights off as well as the roof or the car.  Then it turned out that I don't have the right size of screw to mount the lightbar.  I gave up and went to bed.

Day 2564

I wok at 7, went back to sleep until 7:30  Then it was up to feed the cats and leave for the club.  The weather was a little cold and very cloudy.

We got to the club on time (8:30).  By 9 I was throwing targets.  The shoot lasted about 2 hours.  By the time we were were finished it was sunny and almost warm.

We left the club and went to the pizza place by HEB.  Traffic was heavy because they were having the Christmas festival.  After that we drove all the way to Walmart to get a Elf on the shelf.  I'm doing to use pieces of it to make it look like Baby Yoda ate it.

By the time we got home I was too tired to do anything.  I just watched videos on bothe the computer and the TV.  I may have napped a little.

Dinner was leftovers from the pizza place.  After dinner was some videos and shopping for parts for the Fireteam.

Day 2563

I woke up at 7:30, played games for a long time, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.

The hammering of the water pipes really has me worried.   I called up a guy that fixed our water tank, but he didn't call back.  I'll call someone else on Monday.  The water pressure dropped to 40 today.  That's the lowest I've ever seen it.  It was over 50 yesterday.  Later in the day it rose to about 42.

After a little surfing we left to go for our annual pilgrimage to the mall.  I actually enjoyed walking through it.  We walked all the way around it.  The Lego store didn't have anything interesting.  Hallmark had a cool animated baby Yoda ornament.  Ellen bought it even though it was $40.

We had lunch at Cheesecake Factory.  It was really good and I brought enough home for dinner.  Then we made a brief stop at HEB before going home.  The traffic was building up even though it wasn't 2 yet.

I was tired because of all of the walking we did, so I spent most of the rest of the afternoon on videos.  I started working on the mini drone that John and Patty got me.  I didn't get far because the battery needed hours to charge.  Ellen worked on her new metal art thing - Notre Dame cathedral.

Dinner was the stuff from Cheesecake Factory.

After dinner I watched some more videos and then started putting lights on the Fireteam.  I completed the rear lights using leftover parts from my parts collection.  I'll do the same with the front lights.  I would have worked on them, but I needed a drill and I didn't feel like going to the garage.

I really like the new solder iron I got on Black Friday.  I also got a phone charger I ordered today.  It works really well.

Thursday, December 1, 2022

Day 2562

I woke up a couple of times in the early morning, but succeeded in turning over and going back to sleep until about 8.  Then it was some games before getting up for pet stuff and breakfast.

My original plan was to go to the mall today.  That changed when I saw that the Fireteam was going to be delivered today.  Plan B was to do a bunch of the little activities that have been piling up.  The first was to take out the garbage.  Then it was to clean up the paper on the kitchen table and clean the table itself.  That involved taking the trailer paperwork back to the truck and putting my new license in my wallet.

After that I started to work on the RC stuff covering the table.  I washed the two RC bodies and used steel wool to scratch them up.  Then I installed the rear bumper on the Power Wagon chassis.  Finally I installed a front bumper on Ellen's mini-b.  Ellen put the window masking on the RC bodies and I put them away.  The end result was a clean table and a lot of little things accomplished.

It was after 1 when I finished and had lunch.  The Fireteam still hadn't been delivered.  I'd been checking about every half an hour and continued to do so.  I'd run out of little things to do and didn't want to start anything big.  I surfed and watched videos instead.

Ellen left for the club before 4.  She called me from the gate to say that the Fireteam had been delivered.  I hadn't got a notification because it was shipped FedEx.  It came in a large heavy box which was in a lightly larger box.  The shipping box didn't make it into the house.  I broke it down at the gate.

I carried the box inside and finished some surfing.  Then I fed the cats before opening the Fireteam.  It is huge and heavy.  According to the web it's about the same size as the Kraton.  If seems bigger though.  It is certainly much higher.

Another package came.  I went out and got it.  It contained a present for Ellen, so I wrapped the present.  I didn't put it under the tree because I don't want her to know what it is.  I'll add it in a few days.

I started going over the car to see what improved parts I'll need.  It was basically what I thought.  I got dinner (leftovers) and started to look for parts.  I wanted to use Amain, but all of their prices were higher than Amazon.  I ended up ordering everything from Amazon.

After that I sat down in the recliner and started watching videos.  Ellen got a new metal model thing today and she started working on it.

Wednesday, November 30, 2022

Day 2561

I woke up at 7:30, played games for a while and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After taking out the garbage and a little surfing we left to do some errands.

We needed a safety certificate for the Audi.  We drove towards Dripping Springs.  We stopped at three places including two we'd stopped at before.  None of them were doing testing.  We drove all the way to Dripping Springs and mailed Hooch's package.  On the way back we found a place to do the testing.  We had to wait a while to do it.

On the way back we stopped at ACE for some Christmas lights and Torchy's for lunch.  Then it was all the way to Costco so I could get my glasses.  They're really nice.

When we got home I just felt like surfing for a while.  Eventually I put some stuff away and cut out the B74.1 body that came a couple of days ago.

Ellen fixed clam chowder for dinner.  After dinner it was movies.

Day 2560

I got up about 7:30, played games before pet stuff and breakfast.  After breakfast it was some surfing to kill time before the stores at the Domain opened.  Then we left for the Domain and got there about 10:30.

It was a nice day, sunny but a little humid.  We walked through most of the Domain.  We stopped at Swarovski, Yurman's, Coach, and a couple of other stores.  One interesting thing.  As we were walking by a cosmetic store a lady walked out in front of us.  She was obviously going somewhere, but when she saw me carrying the Yurman's bag she turned around and dragged Ellen into sell her some cosmetics.  She wasn't successful.

We ate lunch at the Japanese place by the grass.  It was great.  There was enough food left over to make a good dinner.  The only thing we bought was a bracelet at Yurman's.  It cost $650.  We had a $500 credit from Yurman's and a $50 gift card from somewhere.  We're going to give it to Alicia when she graduates.

We left about 1:30 because Ellen had to go to the club.  We did stop at the post office and HEB on the way home.

I put up some more outside lights and took some things to the garage while Ellen was gone.  Then it was videos.

Dinner was Japanese leftovers.  After dinner I watched a movie - Fury.  It was a war movie I'd been meaning to watch for a ling time.  It was pretty good, but very long.

Monday, November 28, 2022

Day 2559

I woke up about 8, played games for a short time, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After a little surfing I started to tackle a cores list.

I took a bunch of stuff out to the garbage/recycle.  Then I went to the garage.  I got a tape measure and the micrometer and went to the trailer.  I measured the space we had for the kitchen light fixture, the size of the shower head, and the size of the shower head bracket.

While I was doing that Ellen was cutting the heron print so that it would fit in the frame we bought.  She wasn't completely done when she had to leave for her haircut.  While she was gone I took got out all of the Christmas stuff.  I put the tree together, but left everything else to her.  I also wrapped up the present for Hooch that we'd bought a few days ago.

When Ellen got home she had four boxes.  One was from Amazon and two were from Amain.  It was mostly RC stuff.  The last was a pocket drone that John and Patty gave me for Christmas.  She finished the heron picture and started on the tree.  She didn't have dinner because her asshole was bothering her.  I had a frozen dinner.

I got hooked shopping on Amazon for Cyber Monday stuff.  Except for a few videos I spent the rest of the afternoon and evening on Amazon.  Ellen joined me for a while.  We both found some bargains and ended up ordering $200 worth of stuff.  I kind of enjoyed it.  I also found a present for John and sent it off to him.

Sunday, November 27, 2022

Day 2558

I woke up at 7:30, played games for a short while, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After a little surfing I started to work on finishing the lights on the small power wagon.

It was one of those times when things fought me at every step.  I had problems with soldering and materials.  I must have made at least 5 trips to either the garage or the wellhouse.  At least the weather was nice.

The whole thing took all day.  I didn't get finished until almost 4.  It's nice to have it done though.  I was too tired to actually drive the rig, but I'll do that tomorrow.

I surfed for a while waiting for some packages to arrive.  I mainly watched videos concerning the Arrma Fireteam, the new basher I ordered on black Friday.  It's due next week.  Eventually the three packages arrived.  One was a present for Ellen.  The other two had miscellaneous stuff that I ordered on Black Friday (mainly RC stuff).

Ellen fixed sausage and waffles for dinner.  After dinner I turned on football and surfed.

Saturday, November 26, 2022

Day 2557

I woke up at 7 today.  The mask on the CPAP had been giving me trouble during the night.  It woke me up and I just didn't bother to go back to sleep.  Lee called me while I was playing games to say that someone had raided all of the mail boxes overnight.

I did a little surfing after pet stuff and breakfast.  Then it was off to do errands.  There was a package at the gate.    The first stop was the post office.  There were a lot of things there, including three packages.  We also stopped at the home products place to get a frame for a painting of a heron that I bought last summer.

We stopped to buy cat food and had lunch at Cheddar's.  The last stops were Walgreen's and HEB.  It was almost 3 by the time we got home.  I took a while to put everything away and open the packages.  Two were CPAP supplies, 1 was a Christmas present, 2were RC things, and the last was cat toys.

After that I surfed until dinner - leftovers from Cheddar's and Thanksgiving.

After dinner was videos.  I found some really cool stuff to watch.

Friday, November 25, 2022

Day 2556

I woke up at 8, but spent a long time playing games.  It wasn't until about 10 that I was up for pet stuff and breakfast.

It's Black Friday, so I spent 4+ hours on the internet shopping.  I ended up buying a bunch of RC stuff including another big basher.  This one is RTR, so the only other thing I'll need to buy is batteries.  I also came up with a few small RC items to put on a Christmas list.

The shopping was pretty engrossing.  I didn't eat lunch until after 3 (leftovers).  After that it was time to catch up on videos.  I ran into a couple of really interesting geopolitical videos.  They agreed that the US is in a good position.  However they ignored the internal rot that is so pervasive in the country.

I got the connectors for the power wagon.  It was late though, so I didn't feel like doing any soldering.  Tomorrow I'll go to the post office.  There's a package there.

Ellen fixed shrimp for HEB for dinner.  After dinner it was more videos.

Thursday, November 24, 2022

Day 2555

And it's turkey day - up at 8 for pet stuff and breakfast.  Ellen immediately started cooking.  I watched videos.

After a while I turned on the football game.  I didn't really watch it.  It was noise while I read magazines.  Tony called and we had a pretty good talk.  Apparently he's actually interested in keeping in touch.

We ate about 1.  It was all really good.  Ellen did a great job.

I did accomplish two small things.  I ordered some more membrane switches for the trailer locks.  I also installed the new bent handle connector on the trailer shower head.  It looks good, but I won't be able to test it until next spring.  I will try to find a holder that holds it better.

After that it was more videos until the evening football game came on.  Then I surfed while it was on.

All in all it was a pretty good Thanksgiving.

Wednesday, November 23, 2022

Day 2554

I woke up a little after 8 and played games before getting up for pet stuff and breakfast.  Ellen planned to spend the day preparing for Thanksgiving.  That meant we weren't going anywhere or doing anything.

The connectors are delayed until Friday.  That means I can't work on the small power wagon.  That in turn means I don't have anything to do.  Queue the videos.

I still watch videos about Ukraine, but I also watch a bunch of other things - history, automobile stuff, funny videos, etc.  The Ukraine ones have been pretty upbeat until today.  A couple of them featured experts that say Ukraine is close to defeat this winter due to the destruction that Russian missiles have caused.  I hope not.

I got tired of videos and watched a couple movies.  The free movie channels have a lot of movies that never made it to the theaters.  I was watching one today that had a couple of main characters that couldn't act any better than I could.

Dinner was leftovers.  After dinner was more videos - ponds overflowing and removing huge trees that had hit houses.

Tuesday, November 22, 2022

Day 2553

I woke up at 7:30 and played games for quite a while.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  It was a little warmer, 50 - but it was also raining a little.

The first order of business was to replace the battery in the UPS.  There were 7 devices plugged into it.  I unplugged them all and labelled them.  Replacing the battery itself was a little difficult because the manufacturer used very short battery leads.

After that I did a little surfing and then started working on the lights for the small power wagon.  I ended up making three trips to the garage to get parts and tools.  Poor planning.

I really didn't want to work on it when I started.  It was almost like a chore.  I warmed up to it and actually started enjoying myself.  I soldered the resistors to all 4 LEDs.  I also wired up the taillights and installed them.  I would have done more, but I have to wait for the connectors.

That was pretty much it for accomplishments today.  The rest of the day and evening was spent looking at videos.

Ellen fixed salmon for dinner.  It was great.

After dinner I ended up watching a 2 hour long video of a crew cutting down  huge dead maple tree.  It was overhanging two buildings.  A guy climbed up in the tree, tied ropes to the branches, and cut the branch loose.  They used a large crane to hook up to the branches and lift them away.  It took them 3 days to cut it down.

Monday, November 21, 2022

Day 2552

Again it was wake up at 8, play games and then get up for pet stuff and breakfast.  It's getting to be a habit.  After that it was a little surfing before we left to run errands.  It was raining.

We stopped at Costco to get eye glasses, water, and probiotics.  The place was mobbed.  We had to park by Whole Paycheck.  They had all of the registers open though and we didn't have to wait too long in the checkout line.

The next stop was the post office and the last stop was HEB.  HEB was as crowded as Costco.  We had to park by the bank.  That would have been OK except that it was raining even harder.  After that it was home for lunch.

After lunch I started to look at Amain's black Friday sale.  I almost bought another car, but thought better of it.  I did buy some paints for Ellen to do the large Power Wagon.

After that it was videos.  That lasted until after dinner (leftovers).  I got tired of videos and started a movie.  I quit halfway through.  I'd seen it before and it was time to go to bed.

Sunday, November 20, 2022

Day 2551

I woke up at 8, payed games for a while, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  It was cold again today, but at least it wasn't raining.  After breakfast I went out to the garage.  I took the small power wagon with me.

I brought the LED cases from the well house to the garage.  then I closed the door because it was really cold.  I used the small bench heater to keep warm.  It worked well.

The workbench was stacked with stuff I'd been too lazy to put away, so I put it all away.  Then I rummaged though the LED cases until I had two 3mm white LEDs with holders and two 2mm red LEDs, along with 4 220 ohm resisters.

I measured and drilled two holes in a wooden stick for the 2mm LEDs.  Then I stained it to match the rest of the truck bed.  I also drill two holes in the front bumper for the fog lights.  I couldn't do anything else until the connectors arrive next week.

I went back to the house about noon.  That started a marathon video session that lasted until mid afternoon.  After that things didn't change much except I switched to the TV.

Ellen fixed chili dogs for dinner.

After dinner I surfed while the football game was on.  Amain sent me a email of a sail that starts tomorrow, so I did some shopping.

Saturday, November 19, 2022

Day 2550

I woke up at 8 and played games for quite a while.  It was nice not to have anything that had to be done.  I got up, did the pet stuff, had breakfast, and did a little surfing.  It was in the mid 30's and raining heavily.

I decided I needed to do something, so I got out some RC car stuff.  I filled the shocks of the small power Wagon with oil.  I was going to put lights on it, but I didn't have the right connectors.  I searched on Amazon and got the right connectors ordered.  I also ordered headlights for the large power wagon.  They aren't due for a month.

That was about it for accomplishing anything.  I did a lot of surfing and video watching.  It never got up to 40 degrees today, so going outside was right out.

Ellen fixed meatloaf for dinner.  After that it was more videos.  I'll probably mess with the small power wagon again tomorrow.  I can't install the lights, but I can get them ready.

Friday, November 18, 2022

Day 2549

I woke up at 8 and played games for a while.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After that it was outside to finish the edge trimming.

It took about an hour to finish the trimming and blow the grass off the rock edges and the front entryway.  It felt very good to be done with that task.  I'm now officially done with the "todo" list.

I went back inside and surfed until lunch (a sandwich).  After lunch it was time to go to the eye doctor.  That was just the standard trip.  The good news is that my eyes have no problems.

When that was done I had a craving for coffee.  We stopped at the coffe place even though it was in the 50's.  Then we stopped at HEB for a couple of items.

When we got home I started watching a soccer game.  Tony called.  Amazing.  He talked for about an hour about essentially nothing.  At the end he said he wanted to talk on the phone more.  I said I would call him, and I will.  I quit the soccer game a little after halftime because it was one of those boring defensive games.  I watched a movie instead.

Ellen fixed frito pie for dinner.  After dinner it was a lot of videos.

Thursday, November 17, 2022

Day 2548

I woke up at 8, played games for a short while, and then got up to do pet stuff and have breakfast.  After that I went outside to clean up brush.

There was a lot more brush than I remembered.  It took 45 minutes or more to clean it all up.  Then I got out the new DeWalt trimmer.  It worked great.  My back didn't.  I spent about 45 minutes cutting grass.  I got everything except the back yard and the section by the trailer.  Then it was time to go get an estimate on the truck.

The guy spent quite a bit of time looking over the truck and taking pictures.  When that was done we went to an estate sale nearby.  It had some interesting stuff, but it was all over priced.  We might go back on Sunday to see what's left.

We stopped at Well's Cargo to get money.  We stopped at a sandwich shop next door.  We hadn't been there before.  Then sandwiches were good and the have pink stuff to drink.  We'll be back.  The last stop was HEB for bread, bananas, and orange juice.

By the time we got home I was really tired.  I think the high dosage BP pills are causing it.  I'd been meaning to finish the edging, but I was just too tired.  I surfed for a while.  When Ellen went to the club I turned on the TV and watched videos.  I may have napped.

Dinner was a HEB salad.  After dinner I watched videos.  I turned on football for a while, but the game turned into a laugh-er so I turned it off.

I'll finish the edging tomorrow.  When I do that will officially end my arriving back chores.

Wednesday, November 16, 2022

Day 2547

I woke up about 8 and played games for a while.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After that I went outside.

I called the CPAP people and got a human.  The lady said I'm not eligible for a new mask until November.  Oh well.  She is sending me some filters.  I didn't even know the thing had filters.

I put gas and the battery in the mower.  Then I started to mow.  Everything went well.  It also went fairly quickly because the grass was not high.  The dry summer didn't do it any good.  There were a lot of bare spots.  I will need to do a lot of edging.  It seemed like all of the high grass was along the edges.

I got finished with the mowing at noon.  I was tired, but I wanted to get a little more done.  I got out the shears and cut a bunch of dead branches off the trees and cut down a couple of dead bushes.  By then I was really tired and my back was starting to hurt.  I quit.

I went inside for lunch (leftovers).  After a little surfing it was time to turn in the Amazon package from yesterday.  The lady at UPS says it happens.  We also stopped at ACE to get some bird seed.  I also got some lights to replace the ones that burnt out last year - I had a coupon.

The last stop was SPECs.  I got some Mojito mix.

When we got home I surfed some of the afternoon away.  Then I watched TV with Ellen, which turned into a nap.  Dinner was a frozen pizza.

After dinner was a lot of surfing.

Day 2546

I woke up at8. There was cold, raining, and there was no reason to get up so I played games until after 9.  then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.

I surfed for a while, but that got boring.  I decided to cut out the power wagon body that I have for the scx 10 build that I did.  I got the body from the car and the tools from the bedroom.  The body sure is big compared to the smaller carpet cars that I'd been working with in Oregon.

I cut out the truck bed.  I was a little rusty about my technique, but it came back quickly.  It was almost 1 by then so we went out for lunch.  I wanted to stop at a new place at Nutty Brown Road and 290.  It turned out that the place is only open in the afternoon and evening.  We drove in to Jim's instead.  It was a good choice.  After that it was the post office and Walgreen's for Ellen's drugs.

I cut out the truck cab when I got home.  The body is going to be neat.  After that I put everything away and went back to surfing.

Ellen left for the club.  I watched videos and fixed myself surf and turf for dinner - leftover steak and leftover shrimp.

After dinner I watched videos until it was time for bed.  I think I'll have to start accomplishing something tomorrow.

Day 2545

I woke up a little before 6:30, got up and fed Devon.  Then we put Cooper in the bin and took him to the vet to have his teeth cleaned and one pulled.  Then we went back home for breakfast.

It was cold and raining all day.  I could have done something like work on RC cars, but instead I spent the whole day surfing.  I watched music, comedy, and informational videos.

The house alarm guy was supposed to come between 1 and 4.  He didn't make it until after 5.  That meant Ellen and to get Cooper herself.  It turns out the vet decided not to pull his tooth.  That's good.

The alarm guy fixed the alarm.  He changed the phone connection from Verizon to ATT.  Verizon just change the tower here to 5G and the signal sucks.

Ellen fixed round steaks and leftover spaghetti for dinner.  After dinner I watched a movie, read a magazine, and watched a few more videos.

Day 2544

I woke up at 8 and played games until 9:30.  There was no point in getting up, it was too cold.  When I di did get up it was pet stuff and breakfast followed by a little surfing.

About 10 it got warm enough (almost 50) to consider going outside.  I tested conditions by taking out all of the household garbage.  It was sunny with no wind, so it was bearable.  The next order of business was to drain the trailer's pipes.  That took some time, but there weren't any problems.

Next I got the key to the Polaris and started it.  It started almost right away.  I let it idle while I cleaned the seat and the window.  The seats were covered with mildew.  I got as much off as I could with window cleaner.  It was all I had.  When it was warmed up I gave it an initial run by taking the garage garbage can out to the gate.  It worked fine.

I took the Polaris down to the deck and loaded up two of the old deck chairs.  I took them to the back storage shed.  They stacked nicely in one corner.  I did the same with the second two chairs.

After that I went back to the garage and got the boards for the storage shed.  I used the Polaris to take them to the back.  It was good that I did.  It turned out that I had measured the short boards incorrectly.  I had to get back to get a saw and a tape measure.  Using the Polaris made it quick and easy.

I measured and cut the four short boards to the correct length.  Then I screwed all 8 boards to the storage shed.  I messed up again.  I should have had an additional 2 boards.  I'm not sure I'll bother to get them.  The real problem areas have been addressed now.

By the time I was finished it felt comfortably warm.  I was feeling good about all of the stuff that got done.  I parked the Polaris and went in for lunch.

After lunch I put the tires back on the Ryft and put away the tools.  I really didn't feel like doing anything else, so I surfed and watched videos.  That got old, so I turned on football.  I didn't really watch it.  It was just on while I read magazines.  I got through a lot of the pile that was in the box when we got here.

When the magazines ran out I went back to videos.  Ellen fixed orange chicken for dinner.  After dinner I started a movie.  I got bored with it and started another.  I got through part of it before I decided to go to bed early.  We have to get up at 6:30 tomorrow to take the cat to the vet.

Saturday, November 12, 2022

Day 2543

I woke up a little before 8 and played games for a while.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  It was cold outside, 42 degrees. I surfed for a while while it warmed up to 52.  I also did a few small tasks that needed to be done like cleaning up some paperwork.  Then I went to the garage to disconnect the battery charger and get some RC car supplies.

I went back to the house and removed the tires from the Ryft.  They hadn't been glued well and were coming off.  Don't always follow instructions from the web.

By then it was about 1 and not getting any warmer.  We got in the car to go get the mail.  We also stopped to get gas for the car and fill a can for the Polaris.  The final stop was HEB.  We were out of bread and bananas.

I'd planned on starting up the Polaris when we got home,, but it was too cold.  We did go out to the deck and Ellen cut my hair.  It was very long.  It's much better now.  Then I went back inside and watched videos.

Ellen fixed coconut shrimp for dinner.  After dinner it was more videos and a movie.

It's down to freezing at 10 tonight.  I haven't drained the trailer yet.  In fact I hadn't thought of it.  I hope I'm not going to regret that.  It's going to be colder tomorrow, but I'll get out there and drain the trailer.

Friday, November 11, 2022

Day 2542

I woke up about 8, played some games, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After that I went outside to unwrap the Polaris and put the battery charger on it.

Ellen came out while I was doing that and started to finish the painting.  I hooked up the charger to the Polaris.  Then I got the battery out of the mower and put it on another charger.  I also had to use some Gorilla tape to patch a tear in the Polaris cover.

I got finished before Ellen did, so I took the recycling to the dumpster and hung up the second mosquito trap.  When she was finished we got into the truck and went to Lowe's to turn in the shower head we bought yesterday.  We stopped at HEB on the way home for some frozen food.

When we left the house it was 82% and humid.  When we got to HEB it was windy, raining, and 54 degrees.  It was still raining when we got home.

I removed the charger from the Polaris and put the cover in the garage.  By then it was raining harder.  Unfortunately my attempt at fixing the gutter over the walkway didn't work.  I continued to rain and get colder.  Eventually it got down to 42.

I spent some of the afternoon surfing and some of it installing parts in a RC truck.

Ellen fixed spaghetti for dinner.  After dinner I watched some TV shows and 1 1/2 movies.

Thursday, November 10, 2022

Day 2541

I woke up about 8, but played games until 9:30.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After that I gave Ellen a choice - painting or washing bugs off vehicles.  She chose painting.

We went out to the garage and I set up the work benches with plastic underneath and the boards on top.  I handed her the paint brush and paint.  I got out the trailer washing stuff and pulled the hose over to the trailer.

It was hot and humid.  I scrubbed down both the front of the trailer and the truck.  I also wiped down the truck with a towel to avoid any more water spots.  We both finished our tasks at about the same time - noon.

We went back inside and had lunch.  Then we killed time surfing until 3:00 when the alarm company tech called.  She was on the phone with us for over half an hour.  Then bottom line is she couldn't fix the problem.  They are sending out someone on Monday.  It's going to cost us $100 or more.

The new rack I ordered to hold RC cars came.  I put it together while Ellen left for the club.  When it was constructed I took it to the garage.  It worked perfectly.  I was going to do a little more, but the mosquitoes ran me out.

I went back to the house, surfed, and then had a frozen dinner.

After dinner was videos.

Day 2540

The low battery alarm on the house alarm went off at 7:30.  Ellen heard it, but I couldn't.  Of course she woke me up.  I couldn't get back to sleep, so after some gaming I got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After that was surfing until it was time to take Cooper to the vet.

The vet said Cooper was healthy except for his tooth.  Apparently the only cure is extraction.  It will be done next Monday.  From there we had a lot of errands.  We stopped at Tomlinson's for cat litter followed by the deck chair place to buy a cover for the new chairs.

Ellen broke the shower sprayer last night, so we stopped at Home Depot for a new one.  They didn't have one in stock even though the web said they did.  We got on at Lowe's instead.  I also got a smoking deal on DeWalt batteries.  After that we stopped at the Brodie donut place to pick up lunch and the battery place for an alarm battery.  The last stop was Randall's so I could get bananas.  Cooper was not happy with all of the traveling.

When we got home I got out the ladder and cleaned out the gutter.  It was totally clogged.  I took the opportunity to remove all of the sand from the entire gutter.  I also tried to fix the leak over the walkway with undercoating.  We'll see how that works.

After that I was hot, tired, and hungry.  I decided to take a minute or two to change the alarm battery.  That turned into a cluster fuck.  I had to get tools and a connector from the garage to change out one of the battery connectors that wouldn't fit the new battery.  Then the low battery indicator was still on and a fault light was flashing.  Ellen called the company.  They tried to fix it remotely, but couldn't.  They're coming out tomorrow.

I finally got lunch and did a little surfing.  Then I decided to replace the shower sprayer.  When I took the old one off, it was clear that the new one wasn't the right type.  Ellen was playing with the old one and it came apart.  When it did i saw how to fix it.  I fixed it and put the new one back in the box to return.

By then it was mid afternoon and I was tired of doing things.  I surfed for a while and then started watching a movie.  After that it was videos.

Ellen fixed coconut fish for dinner.  It was really good.  After dinner was more videos.  I even got Ellen to watch a couple of things that I'd found - removing beaver dams and cleaning sea turtles.

Devon has been growling at Cooper since we got home.  I hope he gets over it soon.  I'm afraid he might start pissing on the floor again.

Tuesday, November 8, 2022

Day 2539

I woke up about 7:30 and played games for half an hour.  Then it was up for pet stuff, no breakfast.  After a little surfing we left for the doctor.

I got to the doctor with about 5 minutes to spare.  I had to sit around for about 15 minutes before they saw me.  The bottom line is that my PSA is down significantly.  According to the doctor their model shows that I've got a 25% chance of having cancer.  That's good, next test in April.

After that we went to Home Depot to buy a box of DEF.  I wanted one on hand.  Then we stopped at the donut shop on Brodie for a late breakfast.  Their stuff is really good.  After that it was home.  Ellen started the wash.

I went out to the garage and glued the door of the bread box together.  Two of the corners of the frame didn't have any glue.  Then I went back inside and searched Amazon for a small cart to put RC vehicles on.  I ordered one that I think will work well.

That was pretty much it for useful activity for the rest of the day.  Hooch called to say he's sending what should be the last piece of paper to be signed concerning the estate.  I sure hope he's done with it.  We had a long talk about a lot of things.  It was nice.

After that Ellen went to the club and I watched a couple of movies.  Dinner was a frozen dinner.  After that it was more videos and a little surfing.

Day 2538

I woke up about 8, played games for a short while, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After that I went out to the trailer.

I took some t-shirts with me that we'd washed last week.  There were way too many in the trailer, so I spent a lot of time sorting them.  I took about 10 back to the house.  I also recycled a whole lot of old magazines that had been in the trailer for years.  I also brought back some papers that we should have gotten earlier.  Finally I brought back three bottles of booze.

I'd really been avoiding the main job of the day - making phone calls and appointments.  I called the doctor about my drugs - they did increase the dose.  I called about the CPAP, left a message and they never called back.  I called the body shop and made an appointment for an estimate and Audi for an appointment to get the recalls done.  Finally I renewed my CHL.

All of that took until almost noon.  The last things on the list were Goodwill to drop off stuff and Costco to get glasses.  We left to do both.  Goodwill went well, but Costco wouldn't do glasses for me unless I had a prescription.  Assholes.

We stopped at the pet store for cat food and Kerby Lane's for lunch.  I like Jim's better.  The last stop was HEB for drink ingredients.

It was raining hard when we got home - yellow.  We stayed in a car, but i wasn't letting up.  I had to change my shirt when I got inside.  It had been raining off and on all day.  I think we got at least 1.5 inches total.

I fixed a drink using Veev when we got inside.  I sat in the recliner and fell asleep in front of the TV.  When I woke up it was dinner time.  Ellen fixed a pizza.

After dinner was videos until I got tired of them.  Then it was surfing.

Sunday, November 6, 2022

Day 2537

I woke up at 6:30 due to time change), played games for an hour and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  When I was finished I went out to the garage.

My intent was to return the garage to "everything is put away" status.  I started by replacing the router on the top shelf.  Then I took some stuff down from the shelf and sorted it into what to keep and what to get rid of.  The next step was installing some hooks above the shelf for the bicycle stand.  I also put a brace on the end of the shelf so I could put heavier stuff there.  The final step was to arrange everything on the shelf.  There's now about 4 feet of empty shelf.

The next task was put away the RC stuff.  I rearranged the contents of one of the cabinets and managed to fit some items in the cabinet.  More stuff went on top of the cabinet.  There's still a couple of items on the tool cabinet.  I'm happy with the result though.

The final activity was to arrange the board for the back shed so that they can be painted.  I was planning to paint them, but I ran out of gas.

I went back to the house and reset the time on half a dozen clocks.  Then I did a little surfing and had lunch.  Amazon delivered the bread box and the gate opener.  I put the breadbox together.  It's great.  I also went out to the gate and installed the new opener.  By then it was too hot to do any painting.

I went back to the house and spent the rest of the afternoon surfing and watching a soccer game.  Ellen fixed hamburgers for dinner.  After dinner was more surfing.  I also turned on the football game.  I didn't really watch it.  It was on for the noise and to see how the streaming worked.

Saturday, November 5, 2022

Day 2536

I woke up at 8, got up and did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  Then I went outside to prepare for the deck chair delivery.

I cleaned off all of the leaves from the deck.  There were quite a few of them.  I also had to cut the wisteria back on the upper deck.  I threw two loads of branches over the back fence.  I also removed all of the leaves from the front entryway.  They'd been bothering me since we got home.

After that I went out to open the gate for the delivery.  I took out some batteries to replace the ones in the outside keypad.  When I pulled the old ones out the battery connector broke from corrosion.  There's now way to fix that, so Ellen ordered another from Amazon.

The delivery guys weren't there yet, so I got out some wire mounts.  I used them to nail down the new flamingos to the deck and to put up the new icicle lights on the deck.  Still no delivery guys, so I went back to the garage.

I put away all of the stuff for the second storage cabinet.  I also put away all of the other stuff that had been left out and swept out the place.  The only thing left to do is rearrange the things that used to be on the high shelf.  It was getting warm and the mosquitoes were coming out, so I quit.

I went back to the house and did a little surfing until the delivery guys came.  Whey wouldn't take the old chairs.  I'll have to haul them to the back shed.  I'll put them outside to rot.  The new chairs look great.

When the delivery was done we went out to eat.  CVS had sent me a text to pick up drugs, so we stopped there.  The new prescription doubled my dose.  I'll have to call to find out if that's correct.  We also stopped at HEB for some distilled water.

When we got home I sat down to videos.  In a short time it turned into a nap.

Dinner was leftovers.  After dinner was a movie and more videos.

I finally solved the mystery of the boards stacked in the garage with screws in them.  They are to repair the back shed.  I need to paint them and then put them up.

Friday, November 4, 2022

Day 2535

I got up a little before 8, did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  Then it was out to the garage to work on the cabinets.

The whole project seems snake bit.  I started to install the doors and misplaced/lost the clip to the lock.  That actually turned out to be good.  I ended up using locks from the old cabinets.  They did need some messing around to make them fit though.  That's how a task that should have taken a couple of mintes turns into an hour plus.

Once I got the two cabinets complete I tore down the old cabinet that I took off the wall yesterday.  I loaded the pieces into the garden cart.  Then I unloaded the second cabinet and took it off the wall.  All of that went without any drama.  Yeah.

When that was done I carefully measured where the new cabinets would go.  Then I cut the shelf above them and removed the part that needed to go.  By that time it was 1:30 and time for lunch.  Did I mention that it was a steam bath in the garage and had been all morning.

I ate lunch and did a little surfing.  Then it was back outside.  After some careful measuring and cutting I attached the mounting board to the wall.  Then I hung the two new cabinets.  I'm proud to say that they fit perfectly.  After that I broke down the second cabinet.  It took two trips to the garbage can to haul all of the pieces.  I did a little cleanup and then called it quits.  It was 4:15.

I still have to reload the second cabinet and do a few small tasks before I'm finished.  I am happy with the result.

I went inside, surfed and watched videos until dinner.  Ellen fixed steaks on the Traeger.  After that it was more videos and a little nap.  A thunderstorm came through and dumped half an inch of rain.  That added to the drizzle we had in the morning.

Thursday, November 3, 2022

Day 2534

I woke up at 8, did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  After a little surfing and a couple of email responses I went out to the garage.

I started to put the second storage cabinet together.  I made good progress, but time ran out.  I had to go to the doctor's.

The trip to the doctor was a quick one.  Traffic was moving very fast.  When I got there there was almost no wait before they took my blood and I was out of there.

We stopped at Lowe's on the way back to get some mounting boards for the new cabinets.  I've decided that's the easiest way to do it.  Then we stopped at the post office.  The box was full.  The last stop was HEB.

When we got home I went back to the garage.  I got almost all of the second cabinet assembled.  The last step is the doors.  That's when I discovered that the asshole that packed it had put in 2 left doors and no right door.  To fix the problem I had to cut off a 2 foot long tab on the door.  I also had to drill a hole for the lock and use the Dremel to shape it.  This all took a long time.  The last step was repainting the door so it wouldn't rust.

I couldn't finish the cabinet because of the wet paint.  I decided to remove one of the old cabinets instead.  I unpacked it, unscrewed it, and took it down.  By then it was 5 and I was hot and tired.  I went inside and took a shower.

Ellen had gone to the club.  I surfed until she got home and fixed ham and mac and cheese for dinner.  After dinner was videos.

Wednesday, November 2, 2022

Day 2533

I woke up about 8 and played games until almost 10.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  I spent the time until my doctor's appointment reading through the mail that had piled up.

The appointment was at 11:45.  I waited about half an hour and then Dr. Cox removed the things on my head.  He used some sort of burning thing on some of them and nitrogen on the rest.  He also hit several places on my face.  All in all I'm a little sore tonight.

I tried to get a yearly appointment with Dr. Cox.  He's booked until the end of May.  I'm going to end up seeing a PA at the end of January.  It's hardly worth it.

After that we happened to stop by a patio furniture store.  They were having a big sale.  We bought 4 new deck chairs at a really good price.  The ones we have are disintegrating.  Then we stopped at Lowe's so I could get a couple of garage cabinets.  The ones I have are press board and can't handle the weight.

The final stop was CVS to get some petroleum jelly for the burn spots on my head.

When we got home I took out the garbage and recycle cans.  Then I went to the garage and put together one of the cabinets.  I unpacked the other one so I could take all of the packaging to the can.  The mosquitos ate me alive both in the garage and at the cans.

It was after 6 when I went back to the house.  Ellen fixed BLT's.  After that it was videos and a movie.

Tuesday, November 1, 2022

Day 2532

I woke up about 7:30.  I played games for quite a while, then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After breakfast it was more unloading of the trailer.  I finished moving all of the stuff out of the trailer.  It felt good to close the door after the last trip.

I opened the garage and washed the windows on the car.  They were so dusty that you couldn't see out of them.  Then I started it and let it idle for a while.  Finally I repositioned the truck and backed out the car.  It's ready to go.

I continued to do a lot of miscellaneous things.  I assembled and put up the two new pink flamingos and the new wind spinner.  It turns out I already had the flamingos, so they'll go in the back yard.  I made several trips to the garbage and recycle cans.  I pulled some weeds and cleaned up some fox shit.  Finally I cut back the Azalea.  By then I was too tired to clean up the debris.  There's a lot of it.

Ellen spent the morning in the trailer cleaning.  There was much more to do, but by then it was noon and I was tired.  She also did the wash.

I surfed for a while while Ellen did some more work.  Then we left to get a Roku for the LG at Best Buy.  We also stopped at a pizza place for lunch.  I didn't feel like doing anything else, so we went home.

We both spent the rest of the day watching videos.  Dinner was another frozen thing.

Day 2531

Ellen woke me up at 6:30.  I couldn't get back to sleep, so I played games for quite a while.  then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After breakfast it was more unloading of the trailer.

I made several trips back and forth from the trailer unloading things from all the rooms.  While I was doing that Ellen cancelled DirecTV.  She also turned off Star Link.  The assholes are going to charge us for November even though we cancelled in October.  Oh well, that's what you expect from Elon.

We left to do errands a little before noon.  The first stops were ACE for bird seed and turkey pellets and Dunkin for donuts.  Then we stopped at a place to get a safety sticker for the truck.  After that it was the county office to vote and get the truck license.  Ellen stood in line for the license and I stood in line to vote.  I got to the front first, so I let two people go by.  Then Ellen finished and we voted.  It was very efficient.

The next stop was the post office.  It was a long drive with lots of traffic.  We must have stopped at almost every light.  Surprisingly there wasn't much of a backup at the Y.  We had a huge bunch of mail.  They crammed it all in the box.  I almost couldn't get the box open.

We stopped at Costco for water and a couple of other items.  The last stop was HEB for bananas and bread.

When we got home I backed the truck up to the back porch.  The Azalea is overgrown, so getting back there was difficult.  I moved two water packages, two 40 lb bags of bird seed, and a back of pellets to the porch.  Then I emptied the bags into the plastic cans.  When i was finished I could barely walk.  I was in serious pain.

I went back inside took pills, had a drink, and collapsed in the recliner.  Then I went to sleep.  There wasn't any lunch.  While I was asleep Ellen went out and cleaned the refrigerator in the trailer.

Dinner was a TV dinner.  After dinner I went through a little bit of mail and then watched a movie and some videos.  I'm not missing DirecTV at all.

Day 2530

I got up a little before 8, did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  Then I went outside to get ready to leave.

The first step was dumping the tanks.  It was a pain in the ass as usual.  I did manage to get some of the other hook up items done while I was waiting for tanks to fill or empty.  Everything went smoothly except for a small issue with getting hooked up.

The trip home was uneventful.  YEAH.  There was a lot of traffic though, even though it was Sunday.  We made good time though, getting home by about 11:30.

Of course the gate wasn't working.  I unhooked it and we went in.  We put the cats in the house, turned on the fridge and water heater, and then went back out to park the trailer.  It must have taken at least 45 minutes to get it parked.  It's just so tight getting it where it needs to be.  Then we unhooked, covered the tires, and hooked up electric.

After that the marathon began.  I unloaded the truck and the basement, putting everything away.  By then I was very hot and tired.  I went inside the trailer and started to move personal things to the house.  By 3:15 I just couldn't to anymore.  I wasn't tired, I was exhausted.

While I was doing that Ellen moved her personal stuff, the pantry, and some of the fridge.  She was hot and tired, too.

I went back to the house, had lunch, and sat in the recliner watching TV.  A bunch of the streaming apps needed updating.  I worked the TV while Ellen got the passwords from the computer.  It took 90 minutes or more for me to recover.  Then I went back to the trailer and moved the plants, computers, and guns.

I went out to the gate and messed with the opener.  I got it to work.  We'll have to see if it's still working tomorrow.  I also set up the new bed stand lamp we bought.

I had a late dinner.  I wanted dessert, so I went back to the trailer and brought over 3 bags of frozen stuff.  Ellen put them away.  There's still more stuff in the fridge and freezer.

Ellen cancelled DirecTV.  She turned off Star Link too, but they are going to charge us for November.  Assholes.

Saturday, October 29, 2022

Day 2529

I woke up at 8:30, played games for a short while, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After breakfast I went outside and connected the sewer hose to the trailer.  That will save me a little time tomorrow when I dump the tanks.

It was still too early to go to the club, so we killed about half an hour surfing.  Then we left for the club.  Ellen shot at the women's event.  She didn't shoot very well at all.  I don't know why, she should have done well because the targets weren't that hard.  She was disappointed when it was over.

We drove to the 28 ga event and waited until it was over.  We met the couple from yesterday there and drove with them to the practice fields.  Ellen got out her 20 ga and let the woman shoot it.  Apparently she was very impressed and is planning on buying one.

After that we went over to Shoot the Moon and Ellen ordered a vest.  After that we went to the roach coaches for lunch.  Gerry and his wife met us there.  We had lunch there and then went over to the Beretta place where I demo'd the gun I think Lee should get.

After that we talked for a while and then parted ways.  I was tired and sore, so we just went home.  The cats were glad to see us.

I did a little prep for tomorrow - mostly putting stuff away.  Then it was the recliner and videos.  Dinner was leftovers.

Day 2528

I woke up at 8:30 today, got up and did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  Then it was a little surfing before we went to the club.

We stopped by registration to turn in our signature sheets.  Then we went to the 20 ga course.  That's when we found out that they had delayed the start time by 30 minutes because of the heavy rain last night land this morning.  We got to sit in the truck for an extra half an hour because of that.

By the time we started it was cloudy, windy, and a little cold.  We wore sweatshirts.  Both of us shot slightly better than yesterday, but still like shit.  Oh well.

When we were finished we went back to the clubhouse and ate lunch at a roach coach.  It served chicken tenders.  They were surprisingly good.  We also stopped at the clubhouse and bought some really cool t-shirts.

We decided not to go back to the trailer.  Instead we killed time walking around and looking at some vendors.  Eventually we got tired of that and just sat on the patio surfing.  A guy we shot with today showed up with his wife.  We talked for a while.  She wants to get a gun.  Were going to let her shoot Ellen's tomorrow.

Skip came by and sat with us.  We got dinner when they started serving.  Gerry and his wife showed up as we were eating.  They sat down and we all had dinner together.  After dinner Skip went home.  The rest of us went to watch the pro shooters.  By then it was getting a little cold.  We lasted about2/3 through the show before we decided to go home.

It was 9 by the time we got home.  The cats weren't happy.  After a little surfing it was off to bed.
