Day 1619

I woke up at 8 and played games for about an hour.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.  After a little surfing I went for a long walk.  It was hot, but enjoyable.  It's just good to get out of the house.

When I got back I did a little surfing and then had lunch.  Surfing was getting old, so after lunch I went out to the garage to work on the marble thing.  I kind of reconstructed the plan I'd forgotten.  Then I started to build things.  For some reason I couldn't get anything right the first time.  Everything I did I had to redo.  The end result is improved over my first plan though.

I quit about 4 when I just got too hot to work in the garage.  I went back inside.  I surfed for awhile and then played games while Ellen watched chick flicks.

Ellen fixed BLT's for dinner.  After dinner it was TV watching and game playing.  I have 10 hours left until I win the game I'm playing.

Day 1618

A thunderstorm woke us up at 6.  There was a lot of thunder and lightning along with .78 inch of rain.  We went back to sleep.  I woke up again about 8.  I'm competing with another guy in a game, so I spent an hour or so playing.  Then it was get up, pet stuff, and breakfast.

After breakfast I went out to the garage.  I did a little cleanup, but didn't work on the marble thing.  I got out window cleaner and cleaned both vehicle's windows.  The Rainex stuff I put on made the windows really fogy, so I took it off.

The next activity was getting together all of the stuff for the pistol class.  Pistol and ammo was easy.  All the other stuff like a notepad and a water bottle took longer.  My silk Hawaiian shirt came today, so I'll be well dressed.

When I went back in the urologist office called.  They want me to get there a little early to participate in a study.  That turns out to be OK, because I have to get up two hours early to give myself an enema.  Oh fun.

Lunch was leftover pizza and a salad.  Then it was surfing.  I found enough non-Chinese flu related stuff to keep me entertained.

After awhile I turned on the TV.  I also got up the game.  I ran up a score that I think will win, but the game goes on for two more days.

Ellen spent a lot of time today making up the ingredients for stew.  Then she let it cook for hours.  It was a good dinner.

After dinner was game, TV, and a little surfing.

Day 1617

We got up at 7:30, did the pet stuff, and let for Dripping Springs.  We made good time.  We only had to stop for one light between Nutty Brown Road and Malone's.  We dropped off the truck there and drove back to the Home Depot in Dripping Springs.

I wanted to get stuff for the drill press and the trailer floor.  True to form it didn't have everything we needed.  Next was HEB for this week's food.  They had just about everything we wanted.  Of course wipes were still sold out.

We stopped at ACE on the way back and got the rest of the drill press stuff.  We also stopped at Tomlinson's.  We'd left Lucy at home, so we bought her some duck feet.

When we got home I went out to the garage.  I finished the drill press.  Then I started work on the marble thing.  Unfortunately I've forgotten my plans.  So I spent a lot of time rethinking what I needed to do.  I got some accomplished before quitting because I was hot and tired.

Back in the house I had a late lunch and surfed for awhile.  Then I went shopping.  I found the flooring tool we need on Amazon and ordered it.  I also spent a lot of time looking for front lights for the truck.

Jared ant Malone's called at 5 to say the truck was done.  That gave us 30 minutes to get there.  We got lucky on the lights again and made it just at 5:30 (closing).  We got the truck and then went straight home.

Ellen fixed hamburgers for dinner.  Then she watched chick flicks while I did more shoppng for lights.  I found some I might like.

I spent the rest of the evening playing games.  I actually played until midnight.

Monday, April 27, 2020

Day 1616

I woke up before 8 and played games for awhile.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.

The main activity for today was waiting for the drill press to arrive.  I opened the gate in the hopes that they would deliver it to the house.

At 10:30 I had a "teleconference" with the doctor.  Basically it was a Skype call where he asked me how I was doing.  He had me take my temperature and BP with the stuff we had there.  I don't think the results were very accurate.

A little while later someone from the ass doctor called.  She asked me some irrelevant medical questions like "do I get dizzy and fall".  Then she told me I could call her any time if I needed to.  Basically I think it was a way to bill Medicare for something I don't need

I went for a long walk before lunch.  It was nice when I started off, but pretty warm by the time I was finished.  I took a shower when I got back and then had lunch.

After lunch it was a short surfing session and then a lot of reading.  I took the dog to the mailbox and then fixed a frozen pizza for dinner.

After dinner was TV.  About 8:30 I went out and spent 90 minutes unpacking and assembling the drill press.  It was nice outside, but kind of a sweatbox in the garage.  I ended up taking another shower when I went back to the house.

After that it was a little surfing and bed.

Sunday, April 26, 2020

Day 1615

I woke up about 8 and played games until 9.  I finally got past a level that I've been working on for two days.

I did a little surfing and then decided to get something accomplished.  I took the trailer flooring out to the trailer.  It's been in the house for months.  I was going to spred it out on the floor and let it smooth out.  It turns out it has no memory, so it was ready to go.

I spent quite abit of time laying out the patch piece.  it's pretty big, and also very irregular.  Ellen came out and helped some.  Then lI took the flooring back to the house and cut out the patch.  Then I called a halt.  It was getting hot in the trailer and we need a tool and some supplies before we can go any farther.

After that we went back to the house.  There was a little more surfing, but that got old quickly.  Then I got out the Lego.  I worked some more on the crane arm.  It's a pretty complicated assembly.  I was thinking I was going to finish it, but I've got at least one more day of work.

After lunch was TV and some reading.  I'm making a dent in the magazines, but I must have over half a dozen left to read.

Ellen fixed bacon, waffles, and strawberries for dinner.

After dinner was TV.

Saturday, April 25, 2020

Day 1614

I woke up a little after 8 and spent an hour in bed playing games.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.  There wasn't really anything to do today except give Lucy a dogacure.  So after a little surfing Ellen and I went out to the truck to clip the dog nails.

Things did not go well.  Lucy spent the whole time shaking like a leaf.  I didn't help that Ellen cut two nails too close.  One bled a whole lot.  When we were finished I had to get paper towels and water to clean the blood off the tailgate.

When that was done it was more surfing.  I managed to find stuff to read today that didn't piss me off too badly.  It did get boring though, so I did some Lego.  I'm almost finished.  I might even be done the next time I do it.

Lunch was sandwiches.  This time everyone showed up for a tribute.  After that was a little surfing and a whole lot of game playing.

Ellen fixed ham steaks for dinner.  This is her second attempt at hashbrowns.  It's better, but still needs some improvement.

After dinner was all game playing.

Friday, April 24, 2020

Day 1613

I woke up about 8 and played games until 9.  Then it was pet stuff, breakfast, and a little surfing.

I wanted to run some errands, but Ellen's asshole was giving her trouble.  So I went by myself.  It was a pretty good trip.  I got the mail and went to Academy for new sandals.  They were on sale.  I stopped at the donut and taco palace for donuts and then off to ACE.

ACE was having a sale on Easter stuff.  I got Ellen some chocolate rabbits for 75% off.  I also got the Roundup and free sprayer I came for.

It was 97 degrees when I got home.  So after lunch I just surfed.  I also bought some lenses for my shooting glasses.  Another good deal - $25 off and free shipping.

Ellen fixed frozen lasagna for dinner.  After dinner it was TV and game playing.

Thursday, April 23, 2020

Day 1612

I woke up a little after 8 and played games for awhile.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.

Hurray, the sun is shining.  So I went outside to put the Rainex treatment on the car and truck.  It felt good to accomplish something.

I forgot to mention that late on the 22nd (two days ago) Home Depot updated their website to show that the drill press had been picked up by FedEx.  Apparently it sat at Home Depot from the 17th until then.  The new delivery date is next Monday, the 27th.  I'm not impressed, but at least then I can try to finish up my marble project.

I really didn't have anything to do after the car windows, so I did some surfing.  It wasn't long before I couldn't take any more.  I did some reading instead.  I'm still working on the pile of magazines that have been collecting since we got here.  If I finish them, there's another pile in the trailer.

Lunch was a ham sandwich.  Normally both cats and the dog shows up for tributes.  Today only Devon showed up, so he got extra.

After lunch I went on a walk.  I went about 2.5 miles or so.  It's interesting to walk around the neighborhood.  There are some really high buck places here.

I didn't take Lucy to the mailbox because I'd taken a shower and it was high 80's outside.

Ellen fixed some dinner rolls today.  They're pretty good.  After dinner was TV.  I was tired of reading and surfing.

Wednesday, April 22, 2020

Day 1611

I woke up a little after 8 and played games until 9:30.  It was raining again today.  I did a little surfing and then watched TV.

Eventually TV got to be boring.  I gave up on it and got out the Lego.  I finished the second part of the build, the crane housing.  The last part of the book let was testing some of the operations.  They all worked - yeah.  I also sorted out all of the pieces for the last part of the build.

After that it was some game playing and TV.  I took Lucy to the mailbox.  She was a lot more sprightly than last time.

The guy from Malone Diesel called.  Apparently they've had the parts for the truck reverse lights for quite awhile.  I thought they'd call but they never did.

Ellen fixed some orange chicken from Schwan's for dinner.  It was pretty good, maybe slightly better than average.

After dinner was TV.

Tuesday, April 21, 2020

Day 1610

I woke up about 9, but played games until about 10:30.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.  After a little surfing we left for the first recreational outing we've had in weeks.  Since the state parks were opened we went to Pedernales Falls.

The traffic was pretty good but it's heavier than it's been.  Unfortunately when we got there the sign said they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.  Oh well.  On the way back we stopped at Tractor Supply for bird seed.  We also stopped at HEB.  There was no line.  We were planning on only getting a couple of things, but we ended up buying stuff for the week.

The last stop was Tomlinson's.  We didn't need anything, but Lucy was really disappointed about the park.  She got a cookie and a duck foot to console her.

When we got home we had a late lunch (3:00).  Then I did a little surfing and then did some reading.  Ellen watched a chick flick.

Ellen fixed ham steaks for dinner.  After dinner was more TV and some game playing.  I also watched a couple of cool videos about a restored PT boat.

Monday, April 20, 2020

Day 1609

Today was weird.  I stayed up until 2AM playing games.  I woke up about 10 and stayed in bed playing games until after noon.  I did win against the guy I was playing with.  Ellen did the pet stuff.  I had no breakfast - I went straight to lunch.

After lunch I surfed for awhile.  Then I decided to go for a walk.  It was mid 80's, but didn't feel too bad.  I walked for about an hour.  I was really sweaty when I got home, so I took a shower.

After the shower it was TV.  I watched two movies that I'd recorded.  They were both entertaining.

Ellen fixed sloppy Joe's for dinner.  After dinner was more TV and a little surfing.

Sunday, April 19, 2020

Day 1608

I wok up at 9 today and played games until 10.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.  I surfed for a little while, but that's getting really old.  So I got out the Lego.  It was raining, so there was no going outside.

I finished most of the rest of the crane housing.  I was going to finish it all, but I stopped a few steps short.  It was getting to be work, so I quit.

By then it was after 1.  I had lunch and then went outside to read.  It was 90 degrees today, but pretty low humidity.  There was also a wind.  I put one of the deck chairs under the wisteria in the shade.  With the wind coming through the door way it was pretty nice.  I read and had a rum and prickly pear juice.

Ellen worked for a lot of the day making cinnamon rolls.  They turned out really well.  She fixed steaks for dinner.  We are eating pretty good.

After dinner was TV and a little surfing.  I beginning to find place on the web that aren't filled with Chinese flu articles.

Saturday, April 18, 2020

Day 1607

I woke up at 8 today and played games until 9.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.  It was cold (50's) and raining.  I did a little surfing and then worked on Lego.  I really am enjoying spending an hour or two building it.  I finished book 4.  I'll probably start book 6 tomorrow.

I took Lucy to the mailbox.  She was really happy to go.  She ran through the gate when it opened.  She even did a couple of sprints while we were out.  She also played with the cats, even Cooper.

After Lego I mixed up reading, TV and surfing.  That took me through lunch and through to dinner.,  Ellen fixed sloppy Joe's for dinner.

After dinner it was TV, reading, and games.  Lucy went on a pretty long patrol around the property.  I think her legs are feeling pretty good today.

Today was a really boring day.  I'm getting sick of staying home.  The governor is supposed to open things up next week.  I sure hope he does.

Friday, April 17, 2020

Day 1606

I woke up a little before 9.  I played games for awhile (I won last night's contest).  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.  It was raining when I got up.  I was set to do some surfing and Lego when CVS called to say a prescription was ready.

We went to CVS.  The prescription was the one I told them to suspend a few days ago.  So I told them again.  We didn't want to go home, so we drove to Costco.  The line was around the building and it was raining.  Forget that.  We also stopped to get cookies, but they are only taking online orders now.

We did stop at the pet store.  We got canned and frozen cat food.  Of course Lucy also got a cookie.  Then we went to the post office (not much there).  The final stop was the HEB at the Y.

There was no line and not a lot of people in the store.  The store was really pretty well stocked.  I got a few items.  We really only stopped for french bread and lasagna.

When we got home I did a little surfing. Then I got out the Lego.  I'm really enjoying working on it.  I quit when I felt like it.  I had a chance at what I think was the "smart" squirrel.  I'm pretty sure I hit him, but he ran away.  Because I had to shoot though a narrow window I had to shoot him in the back half of his body.  I hope he died quickly.

After that it was reading and TV.  We had leftovers for dinner.  After dinner was more reading and TV.

Thursday, April 16, 2020

Day 1605

I woke up at 7 today.  There was no going back to sleep, so I started playing games.  I played games until about 9.  I went out to the garage after pet stuff and breakfast.  I wanted to see if the new run capacitor would fix the drill press.

I cut the old capacitor off, put connectors on the wires, and connected up the new capacitor.  It didn't help at all.  Crap.  I wanted to accomplish something, so I loaded up the hand sprayer with herbicide and sprayed the area around the truck and the rocks by the front lawn.   We'll see if it does any good in a couple of days.

When I went back to the house the "smart" squirrel was at the bird feeder.  I've never gotten a shot at him because he runs as soon as he sees me.  I snuck around to the tree behind the parking area.  He ran away as soon as I got to the tree.  So I set up the deck chairs so I could hide behind them.  Later in the day I got a second chance.  Unfortunately I forgot to take my glasses off.  The parallax caused me to miss.  I got a third chance later, but this time he ran away as I got around the house.

I ordered another drill press from Home Depot.  Their website wasn't working, so I called in.  It was weird ordering something the old fashioned way.  They gave me a $40 discount for having to call in.

I did a little surfing, but soon got sick of it.  So I got out the Lego and started working on the next section.  As usual I worked until it started to feel like work.  After that I read and watched a little TV.

Ellen fixed a turkey dinner from Schwan's.  It was pretty good.  After dinner was TV, reading and some game playing.  I'm in competition with another guy.  I won't know if I won until tomorrow.

Wednesday, April 15, 2020

Day 1604

We got up at 8 today.  I'd wanted to get up at 7, but I hadn't set an alarm.  We did the pet stuff and then left for Central Market.  We got there about 8:40.  There was a line.  We decided to wait.  It took about 15 minutes to get in.

We bought just about everything we wanted.  They even had yeast.  Yuppies don't bake.  Unfortunately it isn't a great store for everyday food, so we didn't get everything we wanted.

The next stop was Grainger.  They don't even let anyone into the store.  Instead you are supposed to order and pay for stuff online (I did).  Then you hand them the confirmation and they go get it for you.

We stopped at Randall's for some more groceries.  We bought all the stuff - bakery, drinks, cereal, etc. that we couldn't get at Central Market.  The last stop was the post office.

I didn't feel like working on the drill press when we got home.  So I didn't.  Instead I read.  At one point a squirrel attacked the bird feeder.  He's aggressive and I've tried several times to sneak up on him.  He runs away as soon as I get around the corner.  So I decided on a different approach.  I'm going to shoot him from behind the big tree by the parking area.  I set up the step stool for a rest.  I also broke branches to give me a small hole through the foliage.  Next time he comes, I'm ready for him.

I continued reading for the rest of the afternoon.  Ellen fixed her version of frito pie for dinner.  She used chicken and rice without cheese.  It was pretty good, but it wasn't the real thing.

After dinner was more reading mixed in with some TV and surfing.

Tuesday, April 14, 2020

Day 1603

I woke up about 8 and played games for about an hour.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.  I surfed for a few minutes and ordered a run capacitor for the drill press.  Hopefully that will fix it.

I couldn't stand surfing for very long, so I got out the Lego.  I finished the third instruction book (out of 6).  When I was done the truck part of the crane was complete except for the motor.  It's well over 2 feet long and pretty heavy.  It has 10 wheels, 8 of which steer.  I put it away and got out the 5 bags of parts for the next stage.  I sorted them all into my parts boxes.  Then I called a halt.

It was cold and windy today - it didn't get past 65.  So I didn't feel like going outside.  I want to spray the gravel, but I have to wait for a calm day.

I tried to surf some more, but it's just too depressing.  Everything is about the Chinese Flu.  Most of it is bullshit.  So I took to reading instead.

Ellen fixed a frozen lasagna for dinner.  It was actually really good.

After dinner was TV and some more reading.

Monday, April 13, 2020

Day 1602

I woke up about 8 and played games.  I did a lot better than I did yesterday.  After about an hour I got up to do the pet stuff and breakfast.  After that it was a little surfing.

Lucy's toenails are way too long.  So we took her out to the truck, put her on the tailgate, and gave her a dogacure.  She didn't enjoy the process, but she did like the dog cookie reward.

Just like yesterday I couldn't take a whole lot of surfing before I got tired of the Chinese flu bullshit.  So I got out the Lego.  I'm enjoying working on it.  The work today involved finishing the front of the frame.  I thought it was long before, now it has another 6 inches added to it.  There's also a neat "engine" with pistons that go up and down.  I quit after about 90 minutes.  The next step is to finish up the body and put on the wheels.

After that it was reading.  I have a whole bunch of gun magazines that have been piling up for months.  I've decided to work my way through them.

Lunch was a frozen thing from HEB.  It was so-so.  After lunch was more reading and some TV.

I took Lucy to the mailbox.  She really seemed to enjoy herself.  She looked like she was walking pretty good.

Ellen fixed ham steaks for dinner.  After dinner was TV.

Day 1601

I woke up about 8 and spent until 9:30 playing games.  I'm playing two right now and they are both kicking my ass.  After that it was pat stuff, breakfast, and a little surfing.

It was warm in the morning, over 80.  For once the humidity was only 40%.  I went outside to sweep leaves.  There was a big pile by the front door and they were getting tracked into the house.  The back deck was covered with leaves and dead wisteria flowers.  They'd formed a mat.

The raking wasn't helped by a 15 mph wind.  The leaves on the deck had formed a mass that stuck to the wood.  I had to scrape it off.  Between that and the wind it took awhile to get everything swept.  When I went back inside I was hot and sweaty.

I didn't want to surf so I got out the Lego.  I finished "book 2" (of 5).  I got out book 3 and worked on it for awhile.  Apparently I've finished with most of the gear driven controls and now I'm building out the "body".  At this point the thing is getting pretty heavy and sturdy.

Lunch was a ham and cheese sandwich.  Devon was the only one to show up for a ham snack, so he got quite a bit.  He really like ham.

After lunch I turned on the TV and played games.  The games continued to kick my ass through the afternoon and evening.  I missed a coupled of good "prizes" because of it.

Ellen fixed ham steaks and potatoes for dinner.  After dinner was more TV and games.  I also did a little surfing.

Saturday, April 11, 2020

Day 1600

I woke up a little before 9.  I downloaded a new game to replace the one I've been playing.  Then I played it until after 10.  The dog and cats were very happy when I finally got up for pet stuff and breakfast.

After a little surfing I got out the Lego.  I had planned on working on it today.  I spent almost two ours on it before calling a halt.

CVS had a prescription for me, so I went to pick it up.  Ellen stayed home.  Then I went to the post office.  I also stopped at Randall's and picked up some food.  I did it mainly because I was out.

It was raining when I got home.  That spelled some reading and some TV.

Ellen fixed tacos for dinner.  After dinner was more reading and TV.

Life is really boring.  There's a rumor that the governor will lift the lock down next week.  I hope so.  This Chinese flu scare is bullshit.

Friday, April 10, 2020

Day 1599

I woke up at 8 and played games for about an hour.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.  After breakfast was a little surfing.  There's only so much of that I can do, so I got out the Lego.

Did I mention that the Lego thing is incredibly complex?  I spent a couple of hours constructing it.  I made progress, but there's still a whole lot of stuff to go.  Again, I quit when it wasn't entertaining any more.

Lunch was an HEB salad.  After lunch I decided to play the game.  Unfortunately I ended up with no power ups on a level that requires them to win.  The only way to get more without spending money is to wait several days.  Each day I can acquire 1 power up.  It will be at least a week before I'll have enough to have a chance at the level.  I may look for a new game.

I went out to the deck to do some reading.  It was actually pretty nice.  The temperature was low 70's and the humidity wasn't bad.

Dinner was a frozen pizza - my request.  After dinner was TV.

Thursday, April 9, 2020

Day 1598

I woke up at 8 and played games until 9.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.  It was hot and humid, but it didn't look like rain.  I decided it was a good time to mow the lawn.

It took a long time to mow the lawn.  Some parts of the lawn weren't very high and went quickly.  Unfortunately the back yard and parts of the side yard were pretty high and made for slow going.  I managed to cut my arm on a branch and got blood all over my shorts.  When I was finished I was soaked in sweat.

I went in and took a shower.  Ellen washed the shorts.  They came out great.

After a little surfing I had a ham, swiss, and bacon sandwich.  It was really good.  After that I kind of switched between surfing, games, and TV for the rest of the day.

The Schwan guy showed up with the food we'd ordered.  I went outside, but he didn't want to hand it to me.  Instead he wanted me to go back inside and he left it at the front door.  I should have told him that he had a better chance of dying driving on his route than he had of contracting a fatal case of Chinese flu from handing me the food.  It really brought home to me how complete the MSM brainwashing has become.

The food wouldn't all fit in the freezer.  Ellen had to take out a package of cinnamon rolls and one of Panko shrimp to fit it in.  So that's what we had for dinner.

After dinner it was a little TV and then a movie.

Wednesday, April 8, 2020

Day 1597

We woke up at 8:15.  When I wet out to the living room there was a squirrel attacking the bird feeder.  I shot him.  After that it was pet stuff and breakfast.  That left just enough time to get to the physical therapist.

The session was the last one.  I feel pretty good now, a lot better than when I started.  I think I'll have to keep up on the exercises or the jaw will just start hurting again.

We drove by the HEB on Brodie on the way home.  There was a line, so we stopped at Randall's instead.  It had no line.  Unlike last time we were there it was relatively well stocked.  Both the bakery and deli were open.  I even got some toilet paper.  I got a couple of other items that we couldn't get at HEB on Sunday.

The next stop was the post office.  We had quite a bit of mail.  Then it was off to Tomlinson's.  The Circle C HEB also had a line.  We got dog food and a treat for Lucy at Tomlinson's.  The last stop was CVS.  I needed an enema for my biopsy.  I'm not looking forward to it.

It was in the high 90's and really humid today.  Welcome to summer in Texas.  I ended up doing a little surfing and then a lot of game playing.

Lucy didn't want to go to the mailbox with me.  She also had to be helped into the car today.  I'm afraid her back legs are getting pretty bad.  When I was coming back I noticed a thistle.  So I got out the weed digger and dug it up.  I looked over the rest of the lawn and found a few more.  I thought I was finished with the thistle wars.  I was only outside for twenty minutes and I was soaked with sweat when I came back in.

Ellen fixed tacos for dinner.  After dinner we watched RV shows on TV for the whole evening.

Tuesday, April 7, 2020

Day 1596

I woke up at 8 and played games until 9.  I stopped when I was ahead of the guy I was playing.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.  After a little surfing I went out to the garage to work on the gearbox.

I cut the plexiglass for the sides of the gearbox.  I got out the drill press to drill the holes.  This thing is new.  I bought it a couple of year ago and hav maybe used it once.  The motor wouldn't start.  I think the start capacitor is dead.  That put an end to the gearbox project.

I went inside and spent quite awhile looking for a start capacitor.  All the mail order ones I found have June delivery dates.  Grainger has one.

After that I did a little surfing.  Then it was leftovers for lunch.  After lunch I surfed and watched TV.

Dinner fixed BLT's for dinner.  After dinner I started playing the game.  The other guy creamed me.

Day 1595

I woke up at 8 and played games for an hour.  I'm competing with another guy.  Right now I'm ahead.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.  Surfing got old quickly, so I went out to the garage to work on the marble thing's gearbox.

I measured out everything I needed to do, tested the motor, and attached the drive gear to the marble thing.  The next step is to cut the plexiglass.  At that point the effort was turning into work, so I quit.  There's always tomorrow.

I did a little surfing before lunch.  After lunch I did a little more before turning on the TV.  There was a series of RV buying shows on.  Ellen and I like those.  A couple featured 5th wheels by the company that made ours.  That took a large part of the afternoon.

Ellen fixed pork chops for dinner.  We're eating pretty good.  After dinner was some more TV.  I also played more of the games because the guy I have been competing with had gotten in the lead.

Sunday, April 5, 2020

Day 1594

We got up at 7 today.  It wasn't easy.  After pet stuff we went to the HEB in Dripping Springs.  I thought that if we got there right after opening there would be no problem.  WRONG!  We had to wait 20 minutes or so in line.  It was raining lightly, but luckily the line area was

They made us put hand sanitizer on our hands before we could go inside.  Once inside we found just about everything we wanted except for toilet paper and crackers.  The first 50 people inside bought all of the toilet paper.  It was in their carts as they were leaving.

We bought what Ellen said was a record amount of food - $160 worth.  It will last for more than a week.  We went back home afterwards.

I took the new tripod out to the trailer.  I'm not sure it's much lighter than the old one, but it is a lot more compact.  It will be easier to use, too.

That was the end of doing anything today.  I didn't feel like working on Lego or gear sets.  So I surfed and watched TV instead.

Ellen fixed pork chops and mac and cheese for dinner.  After dinner was more TV.  I've had it up to here with surfing.

Day 1593

Devon woke us up about 5:30.  he was screaming, probably because there was a lot of thunder.  After awhile the thunder stopped and he quit screaming.  Instead he started knocking everything off the bathroom counter.  I finally locked him in the cat room.

Unfortunately I couldn't get back to sleep even though I tried.  I started playing games.  I played games until after 8.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.  I wanted to play with the tripod that came yesterday, but it rained most of the day - .67 inch.

I got out the gear set I got yesterday and worked out the gearing I'll need to reduce the motor speed from 24,000 rpm to around 70.  That should drive the marble thing pretty well.

After lunch it was some more surfing.  I broke down and brought in the tripod and unpacked it.  It's pretty neat.

The rest of the afternoon and evening was spent on TV and surfing.  Hopefully it won't be raining tomorrow.  It was a good call to postpone the mowing.

Day 1592

I woke up about 8, but played games until 10.  There was no point in getting up.  We weren't going anywhere today, and it was going to rain later.  After that it was pet stuff and breakfast, followed by surfing (sound familiar?).

Surfing got old fairly quickly, so I got out the Lego.  I worked for a couple of hours.  The crane is really complex and has a lot of pieces.  I quit when it wasn't fun again.  I'd managed a little progrss on the frame and partial assembly of a sub-assembly.

Lunch was leftovers.  After lunch was TV.  That didn't last very long because the rain started.  It rained as hard or harder than I've ever seen it here before.  We had 1.75 inches of rain today, most of it in about an hour.  It took out the TV, so I started reading my book.

We got two packages today, so I had to go out to the gate twice in the rain.  One contained new ear protection and some motors for motorizing the marble thing I built.  The other was the new trailer tripod.  I'm looking forward to trying it out tomorrow.

Ellen fixed sausage and waffles for dinner.  After dinner I continued reading.  I went to bed when the book was done.

Day 1591

I woke up at 8, but it was cold.  So I played games until 9.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.  I planned to mow the lawn, but Ellen said it was going to rain today and probably the next two days too.  I figured to wait until after the rain.  That way the grass won't grow as much afterwards.

After some surfing we left to go to the post office and Central Market.  We mailed the book to Dan at the post office.  There was no line.  The line at Central Market reached a block or so.  So we bagged that.  I stopped at the Circle C HEB out of curiosity.  It had a long line, too.  So we just went home.

When we got home it was more surfing until after lunch.  There's only so much of that I can take, so I started the book on the Monitor and Merrimac.  It's actually pretty good.  I read it until dinner.  Dinner was a frozen dinner.  Ellen's asshole is giving her problems.

After dinner was TV and a movie.

Day 1590

Another day quarantine.  I woke up before 8, played some games, and got up to do pet stuff and have breakfast.  Then it was some surfing.

I've been shooting at squirrels the last few days.  What I've mainly done is prove that I'm not a good shot.  I did get one today though.  It took me two shots though.

After awhile I went out to the garage to get ready to mow the lawn tomorrow.  I hooked up the mower battery to a charger.  I bought the new blutooth headphones back to the house, charged them, and paired them to my phone.  I also took the RV catalog back to the trailer.  I've bought everything I can think of right now.

I just sick of surfing.  Everything is about the virus.  Most of it is pure bullshit.  It's either blaming Trump for things that aren't his responsibility or it's alarmist crap based on bad statistics or just hot air.

The marble thing is finished, so I got out the Lego crane.  I worked for a couple of hours or more on it.  The thing is amazingly complicated.  When I was finished it didn't look much different than when I started.  The thing is now much of the complicated control and drive stuff is in place.

After lunch I was tired of Lego.  So I finished my book on naval combat at Guadalcanal.  It was a really good book.  When I was finished I boxed it up to send to Dan.  I'm going to start another book I bought months ago.  It's about the Monitor and Merrimac.

Ellen fixed chicken and asparagus for dinner.  After dinner it was TV and a movie.

Tomorrow I'll mow the lawn.  The grass is getting pretty high.  I'm not looking forward to it.
