This is the last entry until fall.
We got up at 7. Hooking up and getting ready to go was easy, but for some reason it took longer than I thought. We didn't leave until 7:45.
We averaged exactly 40 mph to Baker City. We fueled up and headed west. We stopped for fuel west of Pendleton and at the Dalles. Fuel mileage was probably around 12 for the whole trip. We were at the club about 3.
The toy started right up, which was great. After that things went to shit. First, the water tank was no where to be found. It's either gone, or I went brain dead and took it to the storage shed. I got out the old water tanks I used before and started the slow process of using them to fill the tank. I did use the pump to empty them rather than lifting them up like I used to do.
That's when things went further to shit. After I'd loaded about 30 gallons I told Ellen to start the pump to fill the water heater. I went back over to the well to fill tanks. When I got back there was water all over. The bottom of the filter housing had broken off. This resulted in 30 gallons of water being pumped into the bottom of the trailer. Some of it went into the basement, where it soaked a case of 12 gauge.
I went off to Brooks for some epoxy and sealant. They are closed on Sunday. So I drove up to Walmart and got what I needed. I also filled the gas can because the toy was low. When I got back I epoxied the housing. The epoxy was supposed to dry in 5 minutes. It didn't. So I finished filling up the tank and then sealed the housing. We won't have water until tomorrow.
I should mention that the mice had turned the Mobile Suites into a disaster area. Ellen spent hours cleaning up mouse shit while I was dealing with the water.
About 6 we were able to start moving stuff from the other trailer. We worked until 9. We still have a bunch of stuff to do. Fortunately Dave came by with the keys to the house. That way we have a toilet and a shower. We'll just do what we usually do at a campground.
Tomorrow I'll try out my filter housing fix. If it doesn't work I'll go to camping world and get another one. I'm also going to stop by the storage area to look for the tank.

Day 218
I didn't write this up last night because we got in late. We started the day with an easy breakfast and some surfing. We were supposed to meet Patsy at 10. Of course she wasn't ready. After about half an hour we went to New Bridge to their community yard sale. There were half a dozen people selling their junk. There was some really fancy sewing stuff, but nothing we could use. We did buy some home made cookies. I knew there wasn't going to be anything worthwhile, but Patsy wanted to go.
When we got back, Dan and Patsy took off for Baker City. We decided to go back to the park and get the trailer ready. I drained all the tanks and disconnected the antenna and water. Then we sat around waiting for Dan to get back. When he did, he took us to Halfway to look at his gym. I hadn't been in a high school in over 40 years. It was kind of cool.
He really has a pretty nice set up for a little school in the middle of nowhere. The gymnasium is nice and the locker room and his office is functional if not fancy.
After we got back from Halfway he left us at the park. We messed around a little more and then went over there for dinner. After dinner we watched a movie called Prisoners. It was pretty good, but long. We didn't get home until 10:45. I folded up the bed cover and backed up the truck to about 3 feet from the hitch. Even though it was dark, I was dead nuts on. That will make hooking up tomorrow easy.

Day 217
We didn't sleep in today. Instead we surfed for part of the morning. Then we went over to Dan's. The weather was way too rainy and windy to go fishing.
We hung around talking and watching Dan wash his Ranger. When he was finished we went over and hooked his trailer to my truck. We went back to his place and loaded up the Ranger. Then the three of us went to Baker City.
We left the Ranger and trailer to be serviced and then went and did a couple of errands that Dan needed to do. Our last stop was BiMart where we bought a few items including the fishing stuff we couldn't get at Halfway.
When we got back to Richland Dan and I went over to unload his Chondel from his small trailer. It was definitely a two person job. Then we went to the boat launch and hung up another sign for the fish tournament.
We went back to Dan's and talked and watched TV until dinner time. Patsy fixed a really good clam chowder. Then we watched a cool buddy/cop/undercover movie. It was really entertaining.
All in all we had a good day.

Day 216
I woke up at 6:30 this morning. I went back to sleep and woke up when the alarm went off at 7. I went back to sleep until 9. I like being retired.
The plan from yesterday was to go fishing. It turned out to be too windy, so Dan fixed up our new poles. He also cleaned the line on the old ones. We kind of sat around for most of the day talking. Dan and I did hand a banner on the motel sign for the fishing tournament.
About three Dan took the dogs out. We didn't want Lucy to go, so we went to Halfway instead. We were looking for fishing tackle and groceries for dinner. We didn't find the tackle, but we did get the groceries.
We got back in time to watch the NFL draft with Dan. They managed to stretch out 32 selections for 4 hours. In between we watched the Trailblazers lose again.
After that we went home. It's been raining for a couple of hours. We might not be going fishing tomorrow either.

Day 215
Dan wanted us to show up about 9:45, so we slept in a little. Then we had a nice slow breakfast. Ellen tried to get the antenna aligned, but without success. She only had a little time to do it before we needed to go to Dan's.
When we got to Dan's we went over and bought fishing licenses. Then Ellen got into his truck. I rode in the boat with Lucy. We fished from about 11 to 3. We caught a few fish, but not many. The reason was that the wind was blowing pretty hard. It made the boat move too fast for the fish. It also kept us from fishing the best spots. We still had fun. It's always a little jarring to see the hills green. I'm so used to seeing them brown.
We had to get back fairly early because Dan had some meetings. So we went home to have something to eat (we missed lunch). Ellen worked some more on the antenna and finally got it to work. As soon as she did we went back over to Dan's.
Patsy fixed some really good Gumbo. We worked on their computers. We got Patsy's to sync with her phone and got Dan's started at doing video combining. It's our first encounter with Windows 8. It sucks big time.
Lucy had to wear her cone. She didn't have it on the boat and opened up two of her sores. She was clumping around and knocked over a TV tray with drinks on it. I was not happy. She's kind of depressed right now.

Day 214
We had another nice slow start in the morning. We were in Richland by a little after noon. The trip was kind of a pain in the ass. We had another strong headwind all the way - 8 mpg. I'd forgotten how bad the road was for 20 miles east of Baker. I had to deal with a whole lot of pain in the ass truckers including one that kept trying to pass me on hills for 30 miles. Of course it was a fucking log truck. The only good thing was that the traffic through Boise was light.
When we got to Richland we were going to do the wash. Unfortunately the machines were in use. So we went over to Dan's. He wasn't there, but Patsy was. We sat out on the back patio and talked for quite awhile. Then we went back to the park and did the wash. While Ellen washed I attached the remote holder with the hardware I bought in Hurricane. I also put up the antenna, but we didn't have time to aim it.
About 6 we went over to Dan's for dinner. He looks really well. Apparently he works out every day. Of course Patsy made us dinner. Afterwards we talked, surfed and watched TV. Apparently Dan has a full slate of fishing scheduled for the next few days. He also wants to go to Boise.

Day 213
It was a short travel day. We only had to go about 250 miles. So I just turned off the alarm when it went off and went back to sleep. We got up about 45 minutes later, ate breakfast, and started to pack up. We left the park before 9 (10 their time). The first stop was the US Bank across the street. We wanted to make sure that the check we got in Hurricane was deposited ASAP. Ellen said that they had to call the bank in Hurricane to verify the check. Apparently the teller there didn't log the check correctly, so that caused some confusion. Everything worked out though.
The trip was uneventful, although there seemed to be more than the usual quota of asshole truckers on the road. I passed one guy three times. Fuel is really expensive in Idaho. We paid $4.19 at one place.
When we got to Mountain Home it was only 2 our time. So I unhooked and we went to explore the place. There really wasn't that much to see. We stopped at a pawn shop, but they didn't have any good shoes. We did find an old style diner place. So we went back there for dinner.
The park has a great field for the dog to play in. We took her there to run and do retrieves. She only did 6 retrieves. I think this valley fever has really made her sick.
I finished fixing the first window crack. It worked so well that we bought another kit at Wally World. It was different, and cheaper. It was easier to use and handled more than one nick. So I fixed the other two nicks. You can't see them unless you know where they were. Hopefully this will keep all of them from running.

Day 212
Going up I15 was definitely the right choice. We got up at 7 (8 local) and made the trip up to Brigham City in a little over 6 hours. There wasn't any traffic to speak of. That's probably because it was Saturday.
For once we had a tail wind for part of the way. It wasn't a strong one, but every bit helps. The first 150 miles involved climbing several thousand feet and then going down part of it. We got over 11.5 mpg. The other 200+ miles were a little down hill and a lot of flat. We got 13.8. That's great.
We got to the park a little after 2. We set up and then walked over to the Walmart across the street. We got a couple of things, but we really just went there to have something to do. After that we came back and did some reading. The RV park gave us a free Sunday paper.
At time for dinner we went back across the street to a Sonic. We took the dog. When we got back it was finally cool enough to use the windshield repair kit I bought yesterday. It looks like it worked well. Unfortunately it needs sunlight to complete and it was near dark when I finished. So I'll have to let it cure tomorrow while we're on the road.
All in all it was as good a travel day as we could hope for.

Day 211
Today was a day of rest, mostly. We stayed in bed until a little past 8 surfing. Then we had breakfast. We took the dog over to a pawn shop. This shop's prices ranged from OK to way over priced.
Then we started walking through town. We eventually ended up walking over half a mile through town and back. I stopped at ACE and bought some stuff for the trailer. It was an incredible store. The paint section alone was bigger than Lowe's or Home Depot. They had a sporting goods section that would qualify as a gun store by itself. It had a really complete hardware section, electrical section, and home and garden. It even had toys and housewares.
After we walked back, I surfed a little. Ellen turned on the chick flick channel. After a little bit I laid down on the floor with the dog and fell asleep. That lasted until the floor got too hard. Then I went into the bedroom. I think I had at least a 3 hour nap.
After the nap I did a little more surfing and then we went to dinner at a cafe. Ellen said it had good reviews. I thought it was OK. Then it was home for an evening of surfing and the chick flick channel.
I decided that I didn't want to chance getting stranded in eastern Nevada because I couldn't find fuel on Sunday. So tomorrow we're just going to drive up to Brigham City on I15.

Day 210
We got up and had a leisurely breakfast. I hooked up and we were on the road a little after 9. It was 150 miles to the park we're staying at. The drive was OK except for some idiot drivers and some road construction. The road was 10 feet wide in a couple of places. That takes some attention when you are towing a fifth trailer.
We got to the park and set up by 1. We decided to go to the club today. Tomorrow the road to the club is going to be all screwed up by this iron man triathlon they are having. So we went there today, and tomorrow we'll just sit here and chill. It's a really nice park with spots that are totally tree covered.
The club still had the course from the state shoot set up. Unfortunately they didn't have the menus. So we shot whatever we felt like. It was fun. The dog had fun for awhile, but it was hot. By station 10 all she wanted to do was go home. We should have brought her cool vest.
On the way home we fueled up. I also filled up the 5 gal can. I'm not sure there will be a station open on Sunday. The price went up 2 cents while we were at the club. We took a tour through Hurricane. We stopped at Wells Fargo to get some money for US Bank. Unfortunately we forgot we'd changed time zones. US Bank was closed before we got there. It didn't help that I stopped at a pawn shop in between banks.
When we got home we just surfed until about 6. After we fed the dog we walked over to a Chinese place. Two days in a row of good Chinese food. Great. We also walked across the street to the grocery store to look it over. We bought a couple of things, but we'll do the serious shopping tomorrow..
Lucy now has a sore on her back leg. I'm worried about her. I'm going to give her a pain pill tonight.

Day 209
Today was a good day - one of the best days in a good while. It started out with a leisurely breakfast, followed by a 9 o'clock departure. Our first stop was a gun range where I fired 150 rounds through a Thompson. It was a whole lot of fun. The gun isn't the world's most controllable though.
Our next stop was the "Zombie Apocalypse Store". It was filled with zombie stuff. We bought a couple of small things for Dorie's kid. The place was really entertaining.
The next stop was a train store way on the west side of town. It was kind of neat. I bought a building kit and a train car for a nice price. On the drive back to the strip we saw this huge Ferris wheel kind of thing. It looked interesting, so we parked at Treasure Island, which was near it, to go see it. Unfortunately all of the buildings on the strip were so tall that we couldn't see it.
We started a search, walking down the strip. Eventually we saw a sign on a sidewalk with a guy selling tickets using a smart phone. He convinced us to go, sold us tickets, and told us how to get there. We stopped for a quick lunch first. It was $22 for two hot dogs, a side of fries, and two drinks.
The ride on the observation wheel was really cool. The thing is almost 500 feet high and gives a great view of the central strip. We took a whole lot of pictures. We want to go again either at night or at sundown. The wheel was just by the Flamingo casino. We went in there and walked through this cool nature exhibit. It had flamingos, ducks, parrots, and a whole lot of huge goldfish (carp).
After that we walked back to the car. We kind of got lost inside some casinos and ended up walking in a big circle. All in all we walked over 5 miles. We got back to the truck at 4:30. Surprisingly the drive back was quick, with only one slight delay.
When we got home we took the dog to the park. We walked around the park 4 times while she explored and did a little socializing.
After that we were tired. We spent about half an hour resting and then went for Chinese. It was really good, much better then the last time we went there. We got there at 7 and the place was packed.
After dinner it was just surfing.
