I woke up at 9 and played games for an hour. Then it was up for breakfast. Despite the late start I got a lot accomplished today.
I started out by going outside to the shed with Ellen. She held the ladder while I climbed up onto the roof to cut the tree branches that were overhanging it. The walnut tree is completely dead and I didn't want them breaking off and damaging the shed. I took a while to cut the branches, but it went well. I even managed to get off the roof without injuring myself.
Ellen helped me carry the branches to the burn pile. When we were finished I went inside the shed to redo my plan for fixing the floor. I wasn't happy with the plan I did yesterday. When I was finished I had a plan I liked and a bill of materials. I drained the tanks and then we put Abby in the truck and went to Lowe's.
I needed 6 2x4's, two sheets of plywood, some screws, and FlexSeal. It all cost over $150. Lowe's doesn't even bother to put prices on their lumber anymore. I spent another $20 on 2 cu ft of river rock. Loading up the truck safely was a challenge because of the trailer hitch.
We ate a late lunch at Mickey D's and went home. Ellen helped me unload. Then I started cutting up one of the plywood sheets. I made new shelving for the shelf and a reinforcement base to put under it. The rest of the sheet is unused. I also coated one side of the other sheet with FlexSeal. I'm hoping that will make it more water resistant.
It was after 4 when I was done, so I went back inside and watched videos. Ellen fixed stir fry for dinner. After dinner we took Abby for a walk over to the trailers. She seemed to be rocket powered again. That was good because she'd had diarrhea twice last night. Ellen put her on a rice and pumpkin diet today. It seems to have worked.
