Day 2773

I woke up a little after 8 and played games for a while. Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After that I went outside to continue work on the Starlink cable box.

I spent time with Abby doing retrieves first.  Then I got out all of the tools and then crawled under the trailer with the new corner braces.  I had Ellen hold the box in position while I marked where the holes for the braces needed to be.  Then she went inside while I drilled the holes and attached the braces to the frame.  After that Ellen came back outside to hold the box again while I marked the holes to attach the braces to the box.  Then we unbolted the box.

Ellen went inside and emptied the cabinet where the cable comes into the trailer.  I pushed through a little extra cable.  Then I put some cable sheathing on the cable and pushed it up through the cabinet.  Finally I cut the sheathing off at the right length to put inside the box.

That's when things went south.  When I was spraying sealant into the hole for the cable it dripped down on my shirt and shorts.  The stuff has mouse poison in it.  The shirt was ruined.  My shorts will forever have small dark spots on them.  My ring got some on it.  It took Goof-off and scrubbing with a nylon brush to remove it.

I cleaned up and then went back outside to drill the holes for the brace in the box.  After that I put everything away.

Hooch emailed saying he wanted us to come up.  We decided to go buy some produce for them.  We went to Jones Farm (cherries and onions), the Salem place (two other types of berries), and Baumann's (cherry pie).  Strawberries are over.

The last stop was the post office where we got the package with the latches for the cable box.  It was really hot when we got home.  I decided that the rest of the day would be surfing.

Ellen fixed stir fry for dinner using stuff we'd purchased at the farm stores.

Day 2772

I woke up a little before 8.  I played games for a while before getting up.  Ellen had taken the dog for a walk and fed the cats.  When she got back we left to go to Baumann's.

We bought cherries for Pat and donuts for Vicki.  We got flat beans for ourselves.  Then we headed for Beaverton.

Abby barfed on the trip even though we hadn't fed her breakfast.  Also there was a wreck on I5.  The backup stretched from Aurora to past Wilsonville.  We got off at Aurora and took the side road.  That put us back on the freeway at Wilsonville, so we didn't get stuck in the traffic.  We had plenty of time so we stopped at Freddie's to buy paper towels and stain remover.  Then we cleaned up the vomit.

The vet said Abby weighed 19.5 lbs and looked healthy.  We were really there just to get meds and have Abby's shit tested for worms.  I think the vet was a little confused that we would spend money for that.

After the vet we stopped at Mickey D's for lunch and Dutch Bros for drinks.  We ate outside Dutch Bros.  Then we went to John and Patty's.

We spent the whole afternoon and evening on the deck.  That way Abby didn't have to spend time in a cage.  We spent all of the time talking, sometimes about current events and sometimes reminiscing.

The trip back home was short.  I drove above the speed limit all the way once we got on 217.

When we got home it was videos until time to go to bed.

Day 2771

We got up at 7:30, did the pet stuff, and had breakfast.  Of course the sewer guy didn't show up, so I surfed until it was a little warmer.  Then I went outside to attach the box to the trailer.

I got all of the tools out and everything set up.  Then I called Ellen out.  I needed someone to hold the box while I marked where the holes needed to be.  I was careful to explain each step before we did it.  That made things go smoother.  I sent her inside while I drilled holes an located hardware.  Then she came back outside and we bolted it into place temporarily.

That's all I could do until I have the latches from Amazon and a L support for the other end of the box.  The caulk for the shed patch and support would be a quick trip to the hardware store except we have to wait for the sewer guy.  All I could do was put everything away and go inside to surf.

The long wait began.  I surfed and watched videos for hours.  The sewer guy finally showed up about 4.  Things didn't go well.  His truck quit sucking up sewage.  He spent considerable time getting it to do so.  Eventually it did and the tank got emptied.  When he left I flushed the tank with two 15 gallon flushes.  The result was as clean a tank as I ever have.  I have no reservations about dumping the water where the septic used to be.

It was almost 5:30 by the time that was done.  I left the shower tank draining and we went to Woodburn. I got the caulk and braces I needed.  Then we went to the golf course restaurant for dinner.  Afterwards we picked up TP at Wally World.

When we got home I put everything away.  After that it was videos and a short nap for the rest of the evening.

Day 2770

We got up at 8, did the pet stuff and had breakfast, and then left for the laundromat.

Washing the clothes was normal.  There were more chairs, so I got to sit inside.  When we were done we went to the post office and then home.  The stuff to repair the roof was here, as was the box to hold the Starlink cable.

I started by looking under the sink.  I'm pretty sure at this point that it's the kitchen faucet leaking.  That's going to be a pain in the ass to fix.  I didn't really feel like getting up on the roof, so I decided to work on the cable box.  I took the camp table outside in the shade because the shed was really hot.  I also put sealant on the shed floor patch.

I removed the latch and plugged the attachment holes.  Then I drilled holes for the input and output wires.  I had to take down the Starlink antenna to do that.  I went to Brooks to get latches.  That's when I discovered that Amazon was my only hope.  When I got home I went inside and ordered some.

I didn't feel like crawling under the trailer to fit the box, so I decided to finish up the shed floor patch.  I placed the 2x4 supports and used the brad nailer to attach them to the existing flooring.  Then I dropped in the floor patch and used the nailer to nail it down.  I love that thing.  It made the job really easy.

I had three partial tubes of sealant and one full one.  Two of the partial ones were useless.  One had enought to seal halve of the patch.  The full one was useless too and it was too late to go buy any.  Crap.

Ellen fixed steak and potatoes for dinner.  After dinner was videos.

Day 2769

I woke up about 8, played games for a while, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  I had three chores I needed to do.

The first was drain the tanks.  I started that while I went to the HW store in Brooks for a tube of sealant.  When I got back I used it to glue the screen door panel in place.  This time I used lots of sealant.  The third task was to work under the sink.  I removed the access panel. I couldn't see anything leaking, but there was definitely some dampness on the inside of the trailer bottom.  I once again put down paper towels.

I went outside to put things away and ran into chore 4.  The floor in front of the workbench collapsed.  It had totally rotted away.  I cut away the rotten wood.  The fucking squirrels had built a nest under it and destroyed the wood.  Luckily I had some wood for a replacement, but it took some effort to get it out.

I cut the patch and some 2x4 pieces for supports.  I had Flexseal to coat the 2x4's, but it ran out.  That meant a trip to Woodburn.  We also stopped at Safeway for bananas, OJ, and milk.

When we got home I painted the 2x4's.  I have to let them dry before I can paint the patch.  That will be tomorrow.

The rest of the afternoon and evening were videos, mainly scifi.

Day 2768

I woke p about 7:30 and got up to do pet stuff and have breakfast.  I thought we had to shoot at 9.  After breakfast I got everything ready for the shoot and then did a little surfing.  That's when Ellen toldmethat the shoot didn't start until 9:30.

I used the time to do the first fetch training with Abby.  I put her on the check cord and threw the bumper about 10 feet.  It took 3 or 4 tries before she figured out that she had to bring it back to me.  After that things went pretty well.  I made sure to quit before she got bored.

By then it was time to shoot.  I was tired and didn't really want to.  I shot pretty well though except two stations that I fucked up on.  Of course that took me out of the competition.  It took a long time to shoot because they had a machine failure that backed up 3 squads ahead of us.  It also meant that we didn't shoot one station.  I paid for those targets.

When we got back I put everything away and had lunch.  I was tired, so I surfed for a while.  Then I watched a movie and had a nap.

Dinner was leftovers.  After dinner was more videos.  I started a couple of movies, but it turned out I'd watched both of them before.

Saturday, June 24, 2023

Day 2767

I woke up at 7:30, played games for a while, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  We didn't shoot until 10, which gave me plenty of time to get ready.

It also gave me a little time to surf.  Unfortunately the Russian cop seems to have petered out.  Too bad.

It was a nice day to shoot - not to hot but sunny.  The walk was long though, equivalent to about a whole circuit of the course.  I shot really well on some stations and crummy on others.  Oh well.  We ate hamburgers at the club when we were finished.

We  went to Wally World after we put everything away.  I wanted to get plastic cones to set up a training course for Abby.  Then we went to Salem to get cat food.  After that it was back home.

By then it was hot, so we spent the rest of the day and evening surfing and watching videos.

I'm still confused about the water under the sink.  There wasn't any when we went to bed, but the paper was damp in the morning.  If it's connected to taking showers I can't imagine how.

Friday, June 23, 2023

Day 2766

I woke up about 8 and played games for a little more than an hour.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After that it was time to do chores.

When I checked the paper under the sink it was slightly wet.  It didn't look wet and I had to feel it to show that it was.  That means that yesterday's experiment didn't tell  mean anything because I'd just looked at the paper, not felt it.  I replaced the paper and will try again.

The next chore was lubricating the slideouts.  It's always pleasant laying down on the gravel under the trailer.  It's especially nice to have lubricate drip on you.  After that I got out the ladder and lubricated the awnings.  The final chore was putting protectorant on the slideout seals.  I also drained the tanks and pulled a few weeds.

I was feeling pretty good when I noticed that there is a tear in the roof.  I went inside and ordered some patch material.

I decided to make progress on the container for the Starlink cable.  I went through the choices I'd come up with earlier.  I found one I liked and made a cardboard mock-up of it from an old box.  It fits nice, but mounting it is going to be some work.  I ordered it, too.

By then I was tired and it was time for lunch.  When I was eating a thread I read showed that a revolution is starting in Russia over the Ukraine war.  I spent most of the afternoon reading reports.  There isn't a lot of information available, but it looks like a serious effort is being made to change the government.  I guess we'll know more tomorrow.

Dinner was frozen pizza.  After dinner was a lot of Scifi videos.  Ellen is starting to like them.

Thursday, June 22, 2023

Day 2765

We woke up at 8, played games for a while, then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After breakfast we took Abby for a walk around the club.  We wanted to tire her out a little.  We did, a little.

After that we drove to the farmer's market in McMinnville.  I took the truck because it hadn't been used in a while.  Abby barfed just before we got on the ferry.  We stopped on the other side and cleaned it up.  We continued on.  The GPS took us a new way.  It was nice until Abby threw up again just as we got to town.

Parking was a  little hard to come by, but we got a good place after a little driving around.  Abby had mad a big mess this time, even barfing in the door pocket.  We cleaned it up as best we could and went to the market.

Abby was on the nose leash, which was good.  She never stopped trying to remove it though.  We walked around the whole place.  We ended up buying bakery items and yakisoba for lunch.  It was good.  We also got some strawberries and Ellen got some soap.

When we were done there we went for a short walk downtown.  The bakery/deli we liked isn't there any more.  Someone else is moving in.  Hopefully they will be as good.

The GPS wouldn't acknowledge the existence of the ferry, so we had to ignore it's instructions on the way home.  It was in the mid 80's when we got home.  I got out some cleaning stuff and cleaned the truck.  Then I went to the post office and got some packages.

When I got back I opened the packages and put the stuff away.  The CPAP cleaner crapped out today, so I researched a new one and ordered it.  Then I sat in the recliner to watch videos.  That ended up in a nap.

Dinner was a sandwich.  After dinner I watched more videos.  A few were build videos of the car.  I plan on starting it soon.

A note on the kitchen leak.  There was a noticeable amount of water in the cabinet this morning.  There were no obvious sources though.  I drained the sink, cleaned the cabinet up, and put down new towels.  There were no leaks over the day.  I'll see what happens tonight.  I'm hoping it's not somehow linked to the shower.

Wednesday, June 21, 2023

Day 2764

I woke up at 7 and then went back to sleep until 8:30.  Then it was up for breakfast, Ellen did the pet stuff.  After that we loaded the clothes into the car and went to the laundromat.

Washing the clothes went as normal.  After that we went to Wheeler Dealer and bought a couple of small items.  Then it was the bank.  We moved the money in savings into a CD and a money market account.  At least now we'll make a little interest.

Ellen had found a restaurant on the web that was near the bank.  We'd never heard of it.  It turned out to be the restaurant of a golf course.  It was really good.  We'll be back, especially since almost all of the patrons were our people - old.

The last stop was Wally World for a couple of grocery items.

When we got home I put everything away and then went out to finish setting up the new tool box.  The first step was putting away all of the stuff that I hadn't put away at the end of other tasks.  The transfer took quite a while because I had to sort all of the hardware and reduce the amount that I was keeping.  I'm happy with the result.  Almost everything that I had in the old large box is in the new smaller box.  It will be harder to get to though.

It was 4:30 by the time I was done.  I went back inside and surfed until dinner.  Ellen fixed sloppy joes.  She found water under the kitchen sink.  I looked everywhere, but couldn't find a leak.  I cleaned the area out and put down paper towels to find the source of the leak.  Then I put some standing water in the sink.  It's a really slow leak, so hopefully there will be some indication of the source tomorrow.

After that we watched videos for the rest of the evening.  At first Abby sat on our laps, then she went to her bed.  When she did the cats sat on our laps.  Hopefully that will become normal.

Day 2763

We got up at 7, went downstairs for breakfast, and left for Spokane.  After packing up and draining Abby we were on the road before 8.

The trip back wasn't as good as the one coming up.  It rained hard for 50 miles before Kennewick.  We made good time though because I drove 75.  In Kennewick we ran into a traffic jam because they were working on the bridge.  It was a pain in the ass.  We did stop in Boardman so Ellen and Abby could go to the can.

We hit a strong head wind as soon as we got on I84.  We were fighting a light one all the way to there.  Overall we only got a little over 31 mpg.  I had to stop in the Dallas for fuel (and Mickey D's).  Actually I didn't.  The car was registering less fuel than I actually had.  Sill, it would have been closer than I liked.

We got back a little after 2.  We stopped at the post office and picked up 3 packages - some RV stuff, a new tool box, CPAP supplies, and my RC car.  When we got home all the pets got fed.

I was tired.  After putting everything away and opening the packages I sat down to watch videos.  I kept falling asleep.

Eventually I went out to drain the tanks and transfer tools to the new box.  I only got part of the transfer done before the tanks were drained.  I stopped and went back inside for dinner (leftovers).  I'll finish the toolbox tomorrow.

The rest of the evening was surfing.  Cooper REALLY hates that the dog is back.  She is definitely better behaved than two weeks ago.  Unfortunately she's a litter bigger and her brown spots are turning black.

Day 2762

We got up at 7, did the pet stuff and and breakfast,, and left for Spokane.  We were on the road before 8.

When we got to Woodburn I screwed up.  I took the Salem entrance instead of the Portland entrance.  That resulted in a 20 minute drive down to Brooks and back.

After that the trip was uneventful, and fast.  I got into a group of people on I84 the were going 80+  I drove along with them through most of the gorge.  I drove 10+ over for most of the trip.  We stopped at Mickey D's in Kennewick for lunch.  We got 34.7 mpg for the whole trip thanks to a strong headwind.

We got to the trainer early.  He was working with another couple, so we waited.  Abby was amazing.  She did pretty good finding the birds.  She did amazing on point.  They held her for at least 40 seconds and she was steady to the shot.  They gave us some time to play off leash with her.  She found a bird that was out, but it flushed on her.  She marked where it went down, but overran it and it flushed again.  She spent a lot of time finding and pointing the empty traps.

The trainer spent some time going over her pedigree with us.  She has several national champions in her lineage.   The cost for the two weeks was only $500.

The hotel was only 5 miles away.  Just before we got there Ellen told me to turn left at a traffic circle.  That put us back on I90.  That detour was only 6 miles total.

We ordered dinner from "Longhorn BBQ".  If they did business in Texas they would be shot.  The BBQ beef was good, but not great.  The BBQ turkey and ham were sliced from deli meat like in a grocery store.

We spent the evening watching TV (soccer) and surfing.

Abby didn't whine the whole day.  She also understands the word "quiet".  Apparently the trainer doesn't put up with noise.

Sunday, June 18, 2023

Day 2761

We woke up about 8 and played games for an hour.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After that I went to AMain to order a Christmas present for John (brother in law).

They had a sale on a RTR car that ended today.  It was a really good deal.  I plan to build a little challenge course to run it on.  I also went through 1,00 other items looking for things to buy.  I found a couple of small things for the new RC car.  That process took hours.

Wen the order was in I did a little surfing. We weren't about to do anything else, it was raining heavily.  About 1:30 I decided to go to lunch during a lull in the rain.  I put the dog box in the car even though we hadn't heard for the trainer yet.  We ate at the pizza place, stopped a Dutch Brothers (it didn't get past 60 today), and stopped at Safeway for bananas.

When I got home I finished my book.  I'd read it before, but I didn't realize it until I was halfway through the book.  I decided to finish it because I couldn't remember the final climatic scene.  I texted the trainer just before dinner.  A little after dinner he texted saying to come tomorrow.  That initiated moving a few more things to the car and packing some things in a suitcase.

The rest of the evening was videos.

Saturday, June 17, 2023

Day 2760

We woke up about 8 and spent an hour playing games.  Ten it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  I didn't really have anything to do except drain the tanks, so after a little surfing that's what I did.

After that I texted the trainer to find out when we should pick up Abby.  He said sometime next week.  I asked if Monday would be OK, but he didn't reply.  Hopefully he will tomorrow.

I was severely unmotivated today.  It was a nice day, but I didn't make any use of it.  I surfed for a while and then started reading an old scifi book.  I finished about 2/3 of it before I got tired of reading.  Then I switched to watching videos.

That was literally all that happened today.

Friday, June 16, 2023

Day 2759

I woke up at 7:30 and played games until 10.  Then we got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After that I ordered the RC car again.  I used AMain instead of Amazon because they used USPS instead of UPS.  It will take a week or more for it to get to me.

After that I spent a lot of time looking for the appropriate box to attach to the bottom of the trailer to hold the Starlink cable.  I gave up on metal tool boxes.  I found some plastic ones that might do.  I also found some ammo boxes that might do.  I put the candidates on a list and didn't order anything.  I want to do a little more investigation.

By then it was lunch time.  The sandwich meat was too old, so we went to Woodburn for hamburgers.  By the time we got back it was pretty hot, almost 90.  I spent the afternoon and evening with videos.  Ellen played games and did needlepoint.

Dinner was leftover Chinese.  It was just as good as when we bought it.

Thursday, June 15, 2023

Day 2758

I woke up at 7 and played games until 8.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After that we left for Beaverton.

The trip up was good until we got to 217.  It was a little slow for the last 2 miles until the Denny exit.

The dentist was as usual.  The hygienist said that I need to start cleaning my implants with a water pic.  I  guess I will.

When we were done we stopped at a new grocery store on the way to John and Patty's.  It was pretty interesting with a coffee place, smoothie place, ice cream place, as well as a large grocery store.  Everything was very expensive.  We bought vegetables for Pat and then went to their place.

Eric was there, but he spent a lot of the day working.  We had a usual talk fest as well as playing with the dogs.  We also bugged Vicki about the baseball game she was watching.  Eventually Eric emerged and we caught up with him.  He and his family are doing well.

Dinner was hamburgers followed by a lot more talking and surprisingly little drinking.  Eventually we went inside because it was getting cold.

We left at 8:30.  There were two crashes at, and South, of Donald.  We got off at the Hubbard exit and drove down on 99.

Amazon gave me a refund on the RC car today.  Yeah.

The trainer sent us videos.  Two were of Rico and one was of Abby.  Abby did a good point and then a retrieve when they shot the bird.

Day 2757

We woke up a little before 8.  We'd only been awake a few minutes when the sewer guy showed up.  I scrambled to put on seat pants, sweat shirt, and shoes and get outside.  I got the panel unlocked and started the dump.  Then I hurriedly set up the hose for Ellen and got back to the sewer guy.

I had to get things done quickly.  The truck wasn't cooperating.  He didn't have a broken connector this time, but I couldn't open the valve freely without overflowing things.  That meant I had to do two partial fill/dumps before it was clean enough for him to leave.

The tank wasn't really filled, so I ended up putting 5 gallons in and then draining it through the old water hose.  I did that three times.  In addition I back flushed with the grey water tank.  The result wasn't perfect, but it was pretty good.

Along the way I noticed that the short input hose on the fresh water input was 1//2 inch.  I replaced it with a 5/8 inch one.  I also replaced the screen.  I was half clogged and rusted.  Maybe that will give us better water pressure.  It took at least 1.5 hours from the time the sewer guy showed up until I had everything put away.

I went into the trailer for breakfast.  After that I once again repaired the screen door guard.  This time I fixed it in place with silicon.  Then I went to work redoing the Starlink cable.  I didn't want it just coming in the window.  I first tried a panel inset in the window.  That didn't work, so I decided to bite the bullet and drill a hole in the trailer.

Eventually I got a hole drilled and the cable routed.  It wasn't easy.  I had to drill the hole in the cabinet using the conical bit because the real hole bit was too long.  When I tried to drill the outside hole I hit a structural member.  After repositioning the hole I needed an extension to reach all the way up to the bottom of the cabinet.  We had some trouble fishing 75 feet of cable through the holes.  Securing the cable inside the cabinet was really awkward.  I ended up with a cut on my forehead from the door latch.  Did I mention we had to take the pole down, remove the cable, and then put everything back up also?

It was after 1 by the time we were done.  We went to Woodburn for lunch at the Chinese place.  They allow inside seating now.  Then I stopped at the hardware store for some stuff.  The final stops were Dutch Brothers and Safeway.

It was 4:30 when we got back.  After some surfing I fed the cats and sat down in the recliner.  I woke up and hour and a half later.  I was very tired.

Dinner was a leftover pizza.  After dinner I started searching Amazon for something to store the Starlink cable in.  I was going to use a sewer hose holder.  That's going to be awkward though, so I started looking for a metal box.  I may have found one, but I'll have to do some measurements before ordering.

Tuesday, June 13, 2023

Day 2756

We woke up about 8, played games for a little while, and got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  Then we loaded the laundry into the car and went to the laundromat.

It was only 9, but the laundromat was really crowded.  I had to sit in the car because there weren't any available chairs.

When the wash was finished we went to Coastal so I could get some Casoron.  They were having a DeWalt sale.  There were a lot of good prices, but nothing I didn't already have.

We needed cat food.  We decided to go to the pet store in Keizer because I didn't feel like going to the one on Market.  On the way we stopped at the credit union and moved the money there to a CD.  The CD has really good terms and rates, so we might put more there.  We also stopped a a pizza place for lunch.

After lunch we went to the pet store and bought a case of canned cat food.  The last stop was Jones Farm for more strawberries.  After that we went home and surfed in the trailer because it was getting hot.  Later on a heavy wind came up also.

We both got into watching videos.  Dinner was a Safeway meal for me and leftovers for Ellen.  After dinner we went back to videos.  We found some really entertaining ones.

My frustration with the RC car fiasco continues.  Today I was "eligible" to get a refund.  When I requested one Amazon says I have to wait another 7 days "for them to review the problem".  The vendor hasn't replied to my message and all Amazon sent was an auto reply.  If there's no resolution in 7 days I'll do a charge back.  At least I'll get some of my money back.

Monday, June 12, 2023

Day 2755

I woke up about 8, played games for a short while, and then got up to do pet stuff and have breakfast.  After breakfast I decided to fix the screen door.

The "fill in" pieces that cam with the screen door protector keep falling out of the door.  That's because the tolerances of the protector aren't tight enough.  I decided to tack in in place with some sealant.  That way it would be easy to remove if necessary.  I had to go through three tubes of sealant before I found one that hadn't solidified.

Before using the sealant I decided to try fitting the protector better.  That was easy to do by working from outside the trailer.  I managed to get it much tighter, so I decided not to use the sealant.  Instead I went out to the shed to reload the 20 ga I shot yesterday.

The reloader wasn't cooperating.  It kept failing to drop a primer.  I figured out that the feed bar was sticking.  I oiled it.  That allowed me to finish, but it didn't fix the problem.  When I finished reloading  I cleaned the reloader and lubricated everything with silicon spray.  Hopefully it will work better next time.

I went back into the trailer.  As I washed my hands the sink backed up.  I went outside and opened the side door.  The shower valve was open.  That explained why I haven't had to drain the tank lately.  The tank gauge still read 3/4 full.  The sink tank read half full, but it was over flowing.  I closed the shower valve and drained the sink tank.  The gauges both still read half full.

Ellen went to get her blood drawn for a test.  I had lunch, ordered CPAP stuff, and then started surfing.  It was fairly hot, so I surfed the rest of the afternoon while Ellen watched chick flicks.  Ellen fixed stroganof for dinner.  It was good.

After dinner I listened to scifi while Ellen watched more chick flicks.

Sunday, June 11, 2023

Day 2754

I woke up about 8 and spent about an hour playing games.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After that it was surfing and videos.  I was waiting for the Sunday morning shooter's rush to wind down.

When it did we went out to shoot.  I took the 20 ga.  I started shooting fairly well, but that only lasted for about half the course.  Then I started to fall apart.  The best targets were on the last two station.  Unfortunately by then we were out of ammo.

We ate a late lunch when we got back.  After that I spent quite a while looking at a thread I follow on the Ukrainian war.  The Ukrainians are really beginning to kick Russian ass.  I hope it continues.

Ellen fixed a ready to eat meal that we'd gotten at Safeway.  It was pretty good.  After dinner we watched videos for the whole evening.

I expected to get a refund for the RC car today.  When I tried to get one Amazon said I had to contact the vendor and wait two days.  I sent the vendor a message saying I want an immediate refund.  We'll see what happens.

Day 2753

I woke up before 8 and played games until almost 10.  Then I got up for breakfast, Ellen had already fed the cats.

After breakfast I went outside to attach the sewer hose container to the trailer.  There was only one place to do it, under the front storage compartment.  I got out a moving blanket to lay on and got under the trailer to measure things out.  What followed were several trips under the trailer as I drilled holes and attached the container.  Ellen had to hold wrenches on two of the bolts.

The result looks like it will work fine.  I'm really too old and fat to be crawling under the trailer over and over again though.

It took quite a while to do the job.  When it was finished I surfed for a while and then had a sandwich for lunch.  After that I just didn't feel like doing anything else.  I surfed the rest of the afternoon and evening away.

Ellen fixed hot dogs for dinner.  She left two in the pan on the stove.  Cooper took one to the bedroom.  He and Devon ate half of it before we noticed.

Day 2752

I woke up about 7:15 and played games until about 8.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After a little bit of surfing we went to CVS so I could pick up my drugs.

We stopped by Lowe's while we waited and got some toggle bolts to attach the new sewer hose holder. I'll use it to store the Starlink poles.  We got some coffee at Dutch Brothers.  After picking up the drugs we stopped at the Salem farm store.  They didn't have much of interest.

The last stop was the post office.  The car wasn't there.  That didn't surprise me.  I reread the tracking information.  The car was stolen the first day it was sent out.  It pisses me off that I can't get a refund for two more days.

We stopped by the club to pick up the sewer hose holder when we got back.  The web guy was there.  Apparently he's there every Friday.  We talked for quite a while.

To console myself about the car I ordered the rest of the parts I need to complete the car.  I finally got to use the $50 Ebay card.  I still have to figure out how to use the debit card.  Then Ellen gave me a much needed haircut.

The rest of the day was surfing and videos.

Day 2751

I woke up about 7:15 and played games for quite a while.  Eventually I got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After a little surfing we left for Hooch's house.

The trip was fine because we didn't leave until after 9.  We stopped at Safeway to get Martha some grapes.

A little after we got there Hooch and I started to install his new outside house lights.  There were 5 of them.  We'd replaced them once before and had some problems with them.  Unfortunately neither of us remembered what the problems were.  We relearned them on the first lamp.  Basically the mounting hardware doesn't fit well.  We had to cut the heads off screws the first time.  This time we had to reuse them.

The rest of the lights went better because we knew what to do to get them attached.  It did take several hours to get them done.

Ellen and Martha went off to help put flowers on some floats, I guess for the Rose parade.

The next task was installing a couple of wifi enabled light switches.  It took us some time to decode the switch instructions and the wiring in the box.  The wiring was very extensive and complicated.  Eventually we figured it out.  Hooch did all of the work, I just consulted.

When that was done Hooch and I went out on the deck to drink beer.  We talked about possible vacations and then got talking about dog collars.

Eventually Ellen and Martha came back.  Martha fixed spaghetti for dinner while Dan and I kept talking.  It was 8:30 by the time dinner ended.  We went home then.  At least this time the traffic was great.

My car wasn't at the post office.  I went back and reviewed the tracking information.  Basically it "fell off the truck" yesterday.  Unfortunately I won't be able to get a refund for two more days.  Once I have the money I'll order it from Amain.

Day 2750

I woke up about 7:30.  It was wash day, so after pet stuff and breakfast we packed up and went to the laundromat.  When that was finished we went to the bank.

Interest rates are high enough that it makes since to buy a CD.  The process started out with a 45 minute wait for a banker.  When he finally showed up the paperwork must have taken over half an hour.  We didn't get out of there until well past noon.

We stopped at Safeway for a few things and then went to Baumann's to get strawberries to take to Hooch's tomorrow.  After that we ran out of energy and went home.

We'd got a pizza from Safeway for lunch.  After that it was videos for a while.  Then Ellen took over the TV and watched chick flicks for the rest of the afternoon and evening.

I put the presents for Hooch's family in the car.  Then I went inside and spent along time looking for the optimal tire for the new RC car.  I made a decision after dinner(a sandwich).

After I'd made the decision I spent the rest of the evening watching videos.

Day 2749

We got up at 8 and were checked out by 8:30.  We met Hooch downstairs and were on the road by 9.  None of us wanted breakfast.

We stopped in Ritzville for fuel.  We went to the Starbucks next door and got drinks and pastries.  After that it was straight through to home.  The only delays were a little slowing in I84  before I5 and getting on 26 from 405.

We got back to Hooch's place before 3.  Unfortunately the construction on 217 had traffic "black".  We ended up talking the rest of the afternoon and going to dinner at a Japanese restaurant.  Were supposed to go back up on Thursday to help put up some house lights.

It was after 7 when we finished.  217 was a little slow at Tigard, but not bad.  The real problem was south of Donald.  They had I5 closed down to 1 lane.  It took a while to get through.  We didn't get home until well after 8.

We fed the cats immediately.  They hadn't eaten since yesterday morning.  I'd tried to leave extra food, but they gobbled it all up before we left the trailer.

My new car was supposed to get here today.  It's now supposed to get here sometime this week.  I hope that there's no problem.

I caught up on my email and then went to bed.

Day 2748

We woke up at 6, did the pet stuff, loaded Abby and the crate in the car, and headed for Hooch's house.

The trip was pretty good.  The only slowdown was at the river.  I got by most of it by taking the off ramp and then getting back on.  We got to Hooch's at 7:30.

We let Rico and Abby meet and play for awhile.  They were tearing around the deck.  We let them because we wanted to et some energy out.  I think we left a little after 8.  Traffic through town was surprisingly light.

We made good time going up.  Hooch mainly stayed at the speed limit.  We stopped at Boardman for gas, lunch, and to let the dogs out.  We also stopped at a rest area just out of Spokane.  Ellen had to shit.  The dogs got to piss and then explore the place a little.  We still got to the trainer a little before time.

The trainer took Abby to the training area.  He had a couple of birds in a bag.  He would get one out, shake lit in Abby's face, and let it fly.  She was very interested.  The birds were homing pigeons, so they just flew back to the coop.  After that he got a couple more and planed them in the field with releases tied to long cords.

When he took Abby out she was more interested in the empty bird bag than anything else.  He got her near the first bird and let it go.  Abby half chased it.  The trainer got her to search for the second.  She half pointed it and then he flushed it when it got close.  She was very interested in that.  The trainer seemed happy with the results.

After that we went to the Davenport.  It was spectacular.  It had been built around 1910 and they had restored it to it's former glory.  We spent over an hour exploring all of the old ornate dining and ball rooms.

Next we walked about three blocks down to the river.  Downtown sure has changed.  There were lots of new stores and even a mall.  The water front park itself has been changed into a multi-use park area that a major city would be proud of.

We had dinner at a recommended place about two blocks from the hotel.  It was really good. So were the drinks.  We went back to the hotel for another round of drinks and dessert.  Hooch said he would share the dessert.  In stead he ate a little and I had to eat (over eat) the rest.  By then Ellen's asshole was giving her problems.

We went upstairs a little after 9 and immediately went to bed.

Day 2747

I woke p about 8, played games for a while, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  I'd planned on doing shooting and getting my haircut, but neither happened.

In stead I spent nearly the whole day surfing or watching videos.  I did take the dog for a couple of walks.  I went to the club just before lunch.  Then I walked her halfway around the club after dinner.  She had diarrhea in the morning and didn't seem to be as energetic as usual.

I also got a lot of lap playing in with the dog.  It will be awhile before we see her again after tomorrow.

As I was finishing dinner I tried to close the refrigerator door and couldn't.  After a little investigation I discovered that the top door hinge had been ripped from the door.  I spent half an hour or so bolting it back on.  It works a lot better now, but the top door tray is now permanently attached to the door.

I'm going to bed a little early.  We have to get up about 6:00 to leave tomorrow.

Day 2746

I woke up about 8 and played games for quite a while.  Then it was up for breakfast - Ellen had done the pet stuff.

After breakfast I went outside and loaded the propane tank onto the truck.  It was suspiciously heavy and the outside gauge said that there was still propane.  I decided to get it filled anyway.

We took the tank to Woodburn to get filled. Sure enough it was only half empty.  I also stopped at BiMart to get a power bank.  That way I'll have extra electrons when we got to Spokane on Monday.  The final stop was Walgreen's so Ellen could get pants.  Abby came with us.  She whined the entire time, but at least she didn't barf.

When we got home Ellen wanted a stick on hook to hang her purse from.  I found one in the parts drawer.  It was hard to find because the junk was so disorganized.  I got a small parts box from the shed and removed the labels.  Then I sorted out everything in the drawer.  When I was finished most of the stuff was in one of the two parts boxes.  It will make access a lot easier.

That project took quite a while.  Afterwards I just surfed and watched videos.  Ellen fixed stirfry for dinner.  After dinner we took Abby for the usual walk.  She's getting a little better at staying under control, but it's a slow process.

When we got back I downloaded some movies onto my tablet for the trip.  I also charged up my ear buds.  Then it was videos and games for the rest of the evening.

Day 2745

I woke up a little after 7.  I wanted to go back to sleep, but couldn't.  I played games instead.  Ellen got up and did the pet stuff.  I didn't get up until 9:30.

After breakfast I got out the brad nailer and nailed the slideout trim back on.  The nailer worked really well.

Ellen's watch has died, so after I was done we went to Best Buy and bought another.  After that it was Mickey D's for lunch and a stop at the post office.

One of the things I got today was the latches for the cat scratching pad.  I took it out to the shed and installed them.  They work great.  Hopefully the dog won't destroy it again.  I also got the ESC, motor, and servo for the new RC buggy.  Unfortunately the kit won't be here until next week.  I did a lot of surfing today looking for the type of tires to buy.

Patrick and Jim from Mesquite came by to visit for about an hour.  We spent it on old people's talk - who's died or how is someone and where are they now.

I switched to videos before dinner.  Ellen fixed hot dogs and tater tots at my request.  After dinner we took Abby for her walk.  When we got back I did more looking for tire recommendations.

Day 2744

I woke up at 7:30 and played games for quite a while.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After that it was a little surfing before we put the garbage in the truck and went to the club.

We put the garbage in the dumpster and picked up two packages.  One was the brad nailer.  The other was the screen door protector.  Then we went to Costco to get the glasses Abby ate repaired.

The lady at Costco did a good job of bending the glasses back into shape and putting on new nose things.  Of course she couldn't do anything about the scratches.  I wanted to order a new pair of glasses, but she said the prescription had expired in January.  That meant it had only lasted 2 months.  If true, that's bullshit.  I won't be able to get a new pair until November.

We bought a couple of other items and went to the pet store in the area.  It's not real close, but it's the only place we've found that has Devon's chicken hearts.  We bought that, a treat for Abby, and a new lead for her.  We also stopped at Roth's and Dutch Brothers on the way home.

Lunch was a sandwich.  Then I went out and unboxed the nailer to put it the charger.  After that I installed the screen protector.  I didn't fit perfectly, but it's good enough.

That was pretty much it for activities today.  The rest was spent surfing and watching videos.

Ellen fixed boxed Pad Thai for dinner.  It would have been good except we hadn't noticed that it was a single serving box.

After dinner was a walk around the course with Abby.  She's getting better at minding while she's on the check cord.
