We got up at 8, had breakfast, and did the pet stuff. Then we went out to shoot. Unfortunately the battery in the Ranger was dead. So I hooked up the charger to it and we walked.
We had fun shooting, the weather was nice. I shot OK, but not really well. When we were finished we had lunch.
After lunch we went to the fair. We had a really good time. We saw two draft horse competitions. One was single horse carriage and the other was 6 horse wagons. It was fun watching them hook up the horses before the competition.
We also got to watch dock dogs. One dog jumped 27 feet - twice. We also walked through all of the exhibits and sales booths.
We ate fair food - elephant ears and teriyaki chicken. We spent 7 hours there.
When we got home we watched TV until bedtime.

Day 1031
We got up at 8, did the pet stuff and had breakfast. After a little surfing we left to take Devin to the vet. We got to the vet at 10. It seemed that every slow moving asshole in the state was on the road. On the freeway they were driving in all three lanes. On the surface streets they were everywhere.
The vet said Devin was doing fine. We made an appointment to have his nuts cut off in three weeks. When we were done I called Hooch. They weren't doing anything, so we went over there.
Martha was getting the kid's stuff ready for school. It was an amazing amount of stuff - 7 notebooks, 2 boxes of pencils, 4 boxes of Kleenex, 2 dry erase pens, and that's only a small part of it. When she was done she took the kids out to buy more.
Hooch was doing bills, so we just sat around and surfed and napped. At 2:30 we left to get a lunch and go to the eye doctor for a 3:20 appointment.
We didn't get out of the eye doctor until after 6. I'd texted John and Patty that we'd pick up a pizza. We didn't get to there place until 7.
When we got there we had pizza, beer, and a couple of scotches. Then we watched football until 10 (I needed to sober up). The drive home sucked, too. There was a three mile traffic jam just before 205 due to road construction. There was another just after Donald. We missed that one by turning off at Donald and driving on the side road. Unfortunately we had 4 slow guys ahead of us doing the same thing.
When we got home it was water the cat and go to bed.

Day 1030
We got up at 9 today - it was a late night. After pet stuff and breakfast Ellen went to the club to talk about the board/Dave hassle. I surfed. While I was doing that I found out that the 2019 GMC's were at the McMinnville GMC dealer. Ellen came back about 11 and we went there to check them out.
I was very disappointed. All of the neat features I wanted in a new truck are only available in the 150's. The 250 and 350 truck don't have any of it. So much for buying a truck this year.
We drove back to Beaverton. We stopped on the way at a burger place for lunch. We got to the dentist a little before our appointment time. We were there until 4. Ellen needs a crown and I may need a root canal. Crap.
After the dentist we went to John and Patty's. We talked a lot and patty fixed a dinner of cold cuts. We stayed there until 8:30.
The drive home was amazing. Everyone was doing 75 to 80 from Wilsonville to Woodburn. When we got home it was TV and surfing.

Day 1029
We got up at 7, did the pet stuff, had breakfast, and left to do the wash. We were there before 8, but it was crowded. While Ellen stayed there i went to Coastal to get fence stakes and the grocery to get bananas and some cookies for Mom.
After the wash we went to Portland. Mom was in bed when we got there, but she was dressed. Apparently she went back to bed after breakfast. We woke her up and got her going. We took her on a tour of some of the upper floors. I wanted to see what they looked like. Then we took here to the patio.
It was a nice sunny day. We sat on the patio and watched then build the town houses. I ordered her a mango juice and a cookie. It was nice out, so I called Hooch and told him to come over. He got there just in time for lunch.
We sat on the restaurant patio. It was just as nice. By then it was after 1, so we took Mom back to her room and left.
We stopped at Cabela's on the way back. They were soled out of the ammo I wanted, but we got a Life Is Good t-shirt for Martha. Then we went home.
When we got home I filled the fresh water tank and put some salt in the water softener. Then I went in and worked on making up a mp3 music card. It's very time consuming because I have to move each of the 1,000 or so files individually.
I had left over Monte Cristo sandwich for dinner. Then I took a walk. The evening was reading and surfing.

Day 1028
We got up at 7 because Ellen wanted to. After pet stuff and breakfast there was a little surfing. Then I went out to put up the fencing around the carport. It wasn't hard, but it took awhile. I also dug up all of the weeds in the carport and a few outside of it. I quit a little past noon because I just didn't feel like doing any more.
Melissa called Ellen and said she wanted to meet for lunch at 2. So we killed some time surfing and then went to Canby. We purposely got there a little early. There were quite a few people there and acres of flowers. Ellen met up with Melissa and listened to a gardening lecture. I walked around for awhile looking at flowers. Then I sat under a tent and listened to music and surfed for things to buy the new truck.
It was after three when the lecture ended and we went into Canby for lunch. The Thai place we wanted to go to was closed, so we ended up at a bar food place. The food was good though.
Melissa was with 3 of her friends from Michigan. We all had a good lunch and talk. It was nice to have the hearing aids, they allowed me to participate. After the meal we parted ways. They went back to Tualitin and we went to Fry's. I bought some SD cards to store music on for the cars.
It was too late to eat any more when we got home. We watched TV for awhile and then Lucy and I took a walk. When we got back the cat got watered.
The rest of the evening was surfing and copying music.

Day 1027
We got up at 7:30 today. No reason, that's just when we woke up. We did the pet stuff and had breakfast. Then I took the top of Devin's cat box to the shed and repaired the hinges. When I was done with that we left for Hooch's place.
On the way we stopped at the expensive grocery store on Saltzman for some stuff to take. We also stopped at the pet store there. We bought cat food and treats for Lucy and Rowdy.
When we got there the place was a disaster area. It looks like Hooch unloaded all of the Sunriver stuff from the truck and dumped it in the kitchen. You can hardly walk through it and there's no place to set anything down.
Hooch started marinating some steak and then the two of us went to see Mother. She was on an outing, but we found her and took her to the bar. We ordered her some food (including cookies) and we ordered drinks. We talked for an hour an a half easy. Then we took her back.
When we got home we talked for awhile while dinner was cooking. Then we ate dinner. It was after 7 by the time we were done. We cleaned up and then talked until a little after 9. Then it was time to go home.
We got home after 10, did the cat stuff, and went to bed.

Day 1026
We got up a little after 8, did the pet stuff and had breakfast. After that it was a couple of small chores and some surfing.
I went out and measured how much fencing I needed to fence off the car port. I want to do that so the dogs do't scratch the car this winter. Then we went to Coastal to get it. We also stopped at BiMart to get some dental floss.
I didn't want to go home, so we went to Baumann's and Jones Farm. We got some fruit and corn for us, and the makings for a salad to take to Hooch's tomorrow. Then we went home.
When we got home we went to the club. I bought 7 flats of shells, all the 7/8 oz 8's they had left.
Somehow I got stuck watching TV and reading. I basically didn't leave the trailer for the rest of the day.
Ellen fixed steak and corn for dinner. It was good. The evening was more TV and reading.

Day 1025
We got up about 8 today, did the pet stuff and had breakfast. After a little surfing I made up a todo list and put it on my phone. Then we left to work on it.
The first stop was the jewelry store in Keizer to get Ellen a chain for the pendant I bought her in Sunriver. The one it had broke at dinner a couple of nights ago. We were very luck to find the pendant. The jeweler installed the new chain right then for free. Ellen saw a diamond necklace she liked, so we bought it, too.
After that we went to Costco to get my hearing aids. At least they had them this time. After I got them I wore them around as we did a little shopping. Everything is loud.
The next stop was Best Buy so we could pick up copies of the new Avengers and Deadpool movies. We also looked at computers, but didn't buy any. We also looked at refrigerators. We'll probably buy one when we get back to Austin.
We stopped at Roth's for some groceries and Freddie's for fuel. The last stop was the HW store in Brooks for some bolts to fix Devin's cat box. Ellen broke it while we were in Sunriver. When we got home we surfed until dinner. Ellen fixed hamburgers.
After dinner we went out to shoot. The targets were good, and a little on the difficult side. That's weird because there's a charity shoot tomorrow. We shot until after sundown.
The rest of the evening was TV and surfing.

Day 1024
We got up at 7 today, did the pet stuff and had breakfast. Then it was surfing for awhile. I loaded some of the stuff into the car. Apparently the plan was to play pickle ball with Alicia. She was up before we were, but couldn't seem to get ready.
Hooch got impatient and went out to repair the deck railing. I helped. Alicia came out and complained that she was ready now, but we weren't. When we were done we said "let's go". Alicia wasn't ready again.
We finally got to the courts about 11:30. We played some bat it back and forth and then two games. By then it was almost 1 and time to leave. We left Dan and Alicia at the court and went back to the house to get the animals.
Loading up the rest of the stuff and the animals took until about 1:45. Then we hit the road. The trip back was OK. We averaged 56 miles an hour including a stop in Sister's for lunch. Unfortunately the place was packed, so we just went back to the car and kept going. There were only a couple of short stretches where I was held up by slow movers.
We stopped in Gervais for milk and the mail. Then we went home, unpacked, and fed the animals.
After that Ellen went off to get dinner. I stayed at the trailer and surfed. When she got back she went to the board meeting. I continued surfing.

Day 1023
We
got up at 8 today. After pet stuff and breakfast we all sat around surfing waiting for the kids to get up. Alicia made it about 9:30 and spent a lot of time playing with Devin. The adults continued to surf. Sophia made an appearance sometime after 11:00.
Martha went into Bend to do shopping: Goodwill and several other places.
Hooch put the cabinet door we fixed back up. It's not perfect, but I think it will be acceptable. By about 1 I was bored and said I was going to walk to the village to have lunch, sit on the deck, and drink. Hooch said he'd come along. Ellen stayed with the kids.
We had a good walk. It was warm, but the smoke had cleared some. Hooch took the long way there and Lucy was pretty tired by the time we got there. I'm not sure how anxious she was to go when we left.
When we got to the Village we ordered lunch and drinks. Then we ordered more drinks. Then we ordered more drinks. We got pretty drunk. After about 3 or 4 hours Martha came to take us home. I bought gummy bears and caramel corn for the kids.
Ellen fixed stir fry for dinner. We had the cherry pie also. They were both good.
After dinner everyone except me watched some movie. I surfed.
Day 1022
We
got up at 8 today. After pet stuff and breakfast I cleaned the
kitchen. I unloaded the dishwasher and then put a whole lot of stacked
up dishes in it. Then I washed the pans, counters, and sinks. It took
awhile.
After
that I brought out Devin. I played with him, then everyone played with
him. He was going for hours and never ran out of gas. I think he
thinks this place is Disneyland.
In
the mid morning Hooch and I went to Harbor Freight in Bend to buy some
large clamps to glue the cabinet door that Sophia ripped off yesterday.
When we got back we glued it. We'll see tomorrow how things work out.
Day 1021
We
got up at 8, but it was a bad night. Ellen and I both had intestinal
problems. We spent a lot of time on the can. After pet stuff we didn't
have breakfast - we didn't feel like it. We surfed for awhile and then
brought Devin out. Everyone played with him and he never tired out.
About
12 I decided it was time for lunch. It took almost an hour to get
Ellen, Alicia, and Hooch in the car. Our first stop was Pet Smart.
Sophia had ruined Devin's toy by whacking it too hard, so we were there
to buy another. We ended up buying toys, a cat box, dog treats, and dog
toys. Then we went to the guitar store so Alicia could look at
guitars. She found one she liked, but wanted to go to the other store.
We
stopped at ACE on the way to the other store. Hooch bought some toilet
repair parts. We spent a lot of time at the second guitar store.
Alicia found two she liked, but couldn't decide if she wanted to buy.
By then it was 4, so we stopped at a brewery for beer and some
appetizers. Then it was a liquor store for booze to make a drink Hooch
wanted. After that it was home.
It was really smoky all day - it smelled like a forest fire. It was too smoky to do anything outside.
Day 1020
We
got up at 7:45, did the pet stuff and had breakfast. Hooch was up, Leo
was gone, Martha and the kids were still in bed, We sat around and
talked and surfed until every one was up about 10. Then we worked on a
puzzle while Hooch played his guitar. Then we took Lucy and Rowdy to
the golf course to run.
About
11:30 Hooch and Alicia left on bicycles to play pickle ball. At noon
Martha, Ellen, ad I decided to walk to the village for lunch. Sophia
didn't want to go. We got about a quarter mile when Hooch called ant
told us to go back and get Sophia. We took a shortcut through the golf
course and went back.
Sophia
REALLY didn't want to go. We stayed outside while Martha fought with
her. They fought for almost an hour. Some of it was really loud.
Finally a compromise was reached. Ellen drove the 2 of them and Lucy
and I walked. It was a couple of miles. With the heat and the altitude
it took Lucy and I awhile. It didn't help that Google routed us
through the woods.
Everyone
was waiting for us when we got to the village. It was good food, and I
had a beer and two mojitos. After lunch I stayed at the village to
shop while everyone else, including Lucy, went to play pickle ball. I
had a great time drunk shopping. I bought some cookies for the kids, a
unicorn for Sophia, a pendant for Ellen, and a pink flamingo for
myself. Ellen wouldn't answer texts, so I walked home.
I
was about 500 yds from home when Ellen called to say they wanted to go
back to the village. It was after 5. She came home to pick me up. We
went back to the village. The pendant chain was too short, so we went
back to the jewelry store. They gave her an extender, and Ellen bought a
pair of earrings. Then we hung around for about an hour until the
restaurant had room for us.
Day 1019
We
got up at 7, did the pet stuff, had breakfast and left to do the wash.
The laundromat was packed with illegals on a Saturday morning.
Fortunately we didn't have much to wash and we were out of there pretty
quickly.
When
we got home I started loading things into the car. I loaded everything
I could before we actually left except for the valuables. At 11 we
left for my 11:30 hearing aid appointment. I got there 5 minutes
early. Apparently the person I had an appointment with was late, so we
got to sit. We cooled our heals for half an hour. Then they came over
and told us that they didn't have the hearing aids. Assholes. I told
them I'd see them next Friday - I almost cancelled the order. Thanks to
them I missed a day at Sunriver and had to drive over on Saturday.
We
drove home, loaded the rest of the stuff up, put in the pets and left.
We stopped at the farmer's market and got the pies and some donuts.
That turned out to be a good thing, Going that way allowed us to take
back roads to the highway. That allowed us to avoid a half hour delay
on the highway.
The
trip to Sunriver was long and boring. At one point we had to follow an
asshole pulling a horse trailer for about half an hour. He never went
the speed limit and sometimes slowed down to 30. We were far back in
line and didn't have a chance to pass. Eventually the shithead had a
line of cars over half a mile long behind him. I finally got a chance
to pass on a passing lane. I took great satisfaction in opening the
sunroof and flipping him off as we passed.
The
rest of the trip was OK, with the occasional slow car to pass. When we
got there everyone was gone, but they gave us the code to the house.
That allowed us to get everything and the animals into the house before
they came home. That was really nice.
We
spent the rest of the day, really evening, talking. The late dinner
was leftover lasagna. After dinner they watched Monty Python and the
Holy Grail. I spent the time looking at youtube videos about the new
truck.

Day 1018
We got up a little after 10, did pet stuff, and had breakfast. There wasn't anything to do in the morning except get ready to take the Ranger to the shop. So we surfed most of the morning away.
About 11 I went out to load the trailer. It was good that I decided to start early. The battery needed a little more charging. When I got the Ranger on the trailer I found that it was too long. I had to remove the hitch. After that the ramp barely closed. I dug out some straps and tied the ramp up and tied the front of the ranger to the trailer.
All of that took awhile, but I wasn't stressed because I had plenty of time. I had enough time to do some more surfing before we left. We got to Cycle Country a little after the 1:00 appointment time and left the trailer. Then we hurried back home so Ellen could shoot FITASC at 2. I parked the trailer and then surfed.
At 3:00 Cycle Country called. The Ranger was fixed. I rehitched the trailer and drove back there. It turned out to be water in the belt housing, caused by a bad air intake design. They showed me how to drain it in the future. I took the Ranger home, unloaded it, and unhitched the trailer.
I was going to put the new lock we bought on the trailer, but it wouldn't fit. I tried to drill out the locking hole, but the metal is so hard that the drill bit won't touch it.
The Heitlauf's wanted to go to Hop Daddy's for dinner, so we went at 5:30. That allowed us to eat at happy hour prices. It was a fun time.
After dinner we went to the pet store to get Lucy a treat and some new toys. She destroyed her latest one today. Then it was Roth's to get some groceries for Sunriver.
When we got home we started to pack for the trip. I put as much stuff as possible in the car. The rest of the short evening was surfing.

Day 1017
We woke up at 8, but didn't get out of bed until 8:30. Then it was pet stuff and breakfast. When we were finished I went outside to hook up the battery charger to the Ranger. The battery was too dead for the chargers to work. I ended up making up a battery connection cable using some zip cord and an extra connector from the trickle charger. I used the 12V supply for the roof fan in the shed to charge the battery up enough so that the charger would work. That took until noon. It was 8 at night before the charger had fully charged the battery.
After lunch I took the truck over to the trailer and hooked it up. Then I hauled it back to the 5-wheel. I wanted to make sure that there wouldn't be any problems tomorrow.
The rest of the afternoon was surfing and TV. We could have gone shooting, but I just didn't feel like it.
Ellen fixed fish and scalloped potatoes for dinner. After dinner it was more surfing and TV.

Day 1016
We didn't get up until 9, another late night. After pet stuff and breakfast I went outside to fill up the fresh water tank. I also took the furniture dolly back to the far shed. I took my life into my hands because the wasp nest was fully active.
When I was finished with that we gave the dog a much needed dogicure. She wasn't happy about it, but she did like the cookies afterwards. My final task was to fix the truck cover. I thought I'd fixed it earlier, but that fix didn't take. Hopefully this one will.
After that it was surfing and lunch. Then we went to Portland to see the dentist. When we got there it turned out that the appointment was in two weeks. They just sent the notification text really early and I didn't read it correctly. Fortunately John and Patty were in town.
We stopped at the grocery store for beer and then went to their place. We spent the afternoon drinking and talking. Pat ordered pizza for dinner.
After dinner it was more talk. We left after 8 and were home a little after 9. The animals were really happy to see us.

Day 1015
We were up at 7 to do the pet stuff, have breakfast and leave to do the wash. We were done with the wash a little after 9. Then we drove up to see Mother.
They were just getting her up when we got there. We waited for that and then Ellen talked with her while she had breakfast. I had to stay in the common area with the dog. About the time Mom was finished her walker came by.
The walker said that there was a shop and concert set up outside the other building. So we went to it with her and Mom. It was nice. We bought Mom some cookies and sat and listened to the music for awhile. I think Mom had fun sitting there and petting Lucy.
After that we took Mom back upstairs. We talked for awhile and then Mom went to lunch while we went over to a dry cleaning place near Hooch's house to get Mom's quilt. We brought it back and put it in the closet. It will have to be shortened to fit on her new bed. We talked a little while and then left.
We stopped at the Audi dealership to see if we could get Ellen an Audi computer case. They didn't have any. So we drove through south Beaverton to 217. Traffic was a little slow until past 205. We stopped at Wilsonville Audi, but they didn't have the case either. Then it was the gas station and home. We made good time. We were home about 90 minutes after leaving Touchmark.
It was mid 90's when we got home, so we hid out in the trailer and watched TV and surfed. Ellen fixed stir fry for dinner. It was really good. After dinner was more TV and reading.

Day 1014
We didn't get up until after 9 - there was no reason to. After pet stuff and breakfast it was surfing, there wasn't anything else to do. By 11 I was bored, so we decided to go to the factory stores. We didn't need anything, but it was something to do.
The first stop was Wally World though. We got a spray bottle for kitty discipline and a battery charger for when we leave.
We walked all around the factory stores. We bought a couple of shirts for Ellen, but we really weren't interested in buying anything. We didn't get home until after 5.
Dinner was left over ham. I went for a walk and surfed the evening away.

Day 1013
We didn't have a restful night. The bean machines started on the field next to us at 9. They worked all night. Every time they came to our side of the field it was very noisy. I woke up for good after 6, but stayed in bed until 8.
After pet stuff and breakfast I went out to the shed to put some parts I ordered on a rifle. It ddin't go well. The first part didn't fit where I wanted it, but I changed it's position and it fit. The second part didn't fit at all - it was non-standard. The third part was a new trigger. I had a hard time putting in the hammer because I didn't have a magazine holder. I finally managed it though.
All of that took until 11. I surfed until after lunch. Then we took the dog on a fun day. We took her swimming. The ferry was packed. It seemed that every trip in both directions was full. Lucy ddi an amazing amount of water retrieves and 10 land retrieves to dry off. When we were finished she jumped into the truck with no problems.
We stopped at Lowe's for a new lock for the UTV trailer. Then it was the pet store for cat and dog food. Hop Jack's was having happy hour, so we went there for a really early dinner. I ordered 2 drinks, so it was still $60.
When we got home I had a nap - did I mention that last night wasn't restful? About 7:30 we had left overs from Hop Jacks. Then I did my walk.
The rest of the evening was surfing.

Day 1012
We got up at 9 since we stayed up late last night. After pet stuff and breakfast I cleaned out the bathroom sink drain. I took it apart and scraped out all of the junk. Then I got out the hoses and used a nozzle to totally clean the drain. It works better than it has for years.
It looked like it was going to rain and the forecast said it would. So we surfed until after lunch. It cleared up, so we went shooting. It's the first time I've gone since I learned I can't see out of my left eye. That explained my problem with left to right crossers. I've got some adapting to do.
When we were finished we went to the club and talked with Dave and Vandy for awhile. Then we went to the farmer's market on the way to Roth's. We bought some vegetables and then went to Roth's for groceries. It never did rain.
Dinner was fried Spam, corn on the cob, and scalloped potatoes. It was good. After dinner was surfing and TV.

Day 1011
We slept in today, until after 9. Then it was pet stuff and breakfast. After breakfast I called Les Schwab. They said they could put tires on the trailer before I needed to go to Salem. So I hooked up the trailer and went.
They did get tire on the trailer, but they weren't finished until 1:25. My appointment at Costco was at 2. I took the truck home, got in the car, and we hurried to Salem. I made it with about a minute to spare.
The hearing test went about like I expected. I basically don't have much in the way of hearing above 1 KHz. They programmed up a set of sample hearing aids and had me wear them around Costco for 15 minutes. They make a big difference. So I ordered a pair, $2,500. Unfortunately they want to fit them the day we were going to leave for Bend. That means that I won't get started going there until about noon on Saturday. I really don't like driving on the weekend.
We didn't get home until almost 5. I surfed until dinner (frozen pizza). After dinner it was a walk and surfing.

Day 1010
We got up at 7, did the pet stuff and had breakfast. I was planning to leave right away, but Pat emailed late last night to say that they wouldn't be up until after 9. So we surfed until 8:30.
We got out to Lincoln City about 9:15. We stopped for coffee and made it to their house about 9:45. They were just having breakfast.
We had fun talking through breakfast and after. I really missed seeing them this summer. It was also neat to see Eric and his new wife.
About noon we took the dogs (Lucy, Cinder, and Eric's dog) to Fogerty Creek. We let them play on the beach for more than an hour. When we got home Pat fixed afternoon snacks - cheese, crackers, and nuts. Then it was more talk.
Later Eric, his wife, Ellen and Vicki played a couple of card games. John and I surfed. Pat napped.
We ordered pizza and Thai food for dinner.
We left a little after 7. We made good time on the way back following rabbits on the first half and ignoring speed limits on the second half. We were home before 8:30.
The rest of the evening was TV and surfing.

Day 1009
We got up at 7 today because I had to fill the fresh water tank before we could leave. I did that, the pet stuff, and had breakfast. We left for Portland a little after 8. We got to Hooch's house a little after 9.
Columbia didn't open until 10. So we talked for awhile and then went over there. We bought $200 worth of clothes. I don't think we needed any of them. When we got back we had lunch (salad) and talked some more. I also installed the improved trigger in Hooch's 10/22.
About 1 we went over to the optical shop at 185th and TV highway. They had a much better selection than the St. Vincent's one. I picked out a pair. Ellen saw one she liked, but couldn't decided on it.
We took the back way home, stopping at DQ so Ellen could have lunch. We got lucky on the construction, very little delay. We stopped at Wilsonville for gas. That's where our luck ran a little thin. We ran into the residue from an earlier crash. It slowed us most of the way to Woodburn.
It was hot when we got home, high 90's. So we hid out in the trailer. I surfed and Ellen watched a chick flick. Dinner was frozen pizza.

Day 1008
We didn't get up until 9. It was great to sleep in and not have to go to Portland. After pet stuff and breakfast we left to do the laundry. There were a lot of people there when we got there - I like the quite of the earlier time. We did get to talk to the owner though.
After the wash we went to the bank to deposit checks and Safeway for groceries. Then it was back to the trailer.
I was going to take the Ranger in, so I went to get the trailer. The hitch lock was rusted shut, so I had to cut it off. The process of searching for a key, trying them, and then stringing wire so I could cut the lock off with a Dremel took two hours in the hot sun.
After the lock was off I ate a late lunch. Then i called Cycle Sports. They can't take the Ranger until the 17th (10 days). I'll probably replace the 20 year old tires on the trailer before then.
It was really hot today, near 100. So the rest of the day was sitting in the trailer watching TV and surfing.
Ellen fixed sausage and pancakes for dinner. In the evening I dumped the black tank.

Day 1007
We got up at 8 today. We did the pet stuff, had breakfast, and left for Portland.
The first stop was Gerry's office. I signed a piece of paper they needed to get out of the Athena annuity. Then we went over to Touchmark to drop off Lucy's papers. After that it was time to go to the eye doctor.
The eye test showed me that I've got significant sight loss in my left eye because of cataracts. The vision can only be corrected to 20/40. I see surgery in my future. Fortunately my right eye is fine. It's amazing how my brain has compensated. I didn't even notice until the test.
I couldn't find any frames I liked, so no new glasses. When we were finished it was time to have lunch with toy and Mom at Biscuit's. We finished just in time to take Mom to Touchmark. We got there first, with the rest close behind. Hooch worked on the place yesterday, and it looks fine.
We spent two hours there. Hooch spent a lot of time on paper work. Ellen showed Mom where everything was. I rearranged some stuff to suit Mom.
When that was done we went to Laurel Parc to clean it out. I took two loads to Goodwill. We loaded Hooch's truck and his friend's truck with stuff for their places and Touchmark. Tony took plants to Touchmark. He also took the cat with him. That took 4 hours. At 7:30 Hooch and his friend went to Hooch's house. We went to Touchmark to give them Mom's drugs.
We stopped for dinner at Arby's and were home at 9. The rest of the evening was surfing and looking for stuff for Mom on Amazon.

Day 1006
We got up at 10 today. That was partially because we needed a day off and partially because of a stressful bedtime.
I took a shower and got into bed a little before 12. I'd just laid down when Ellen said that Fletcher was gone. Earlier in the evening Devon had opened the screen door without us noticing. Apparently Fletcher decided to go to the great outdoors. Both Ellen and I went out searching. I checked under both trailers, in the garage, and started looking towards the pipes. I finally found him walking around on the other side of the pipes. The whole episode lasted about half an hour. It really sucked.
We didn't do much today. I did a couple of little chores. I also walked to the club to talk for a little while. After lunch Ellen had a lesson. Most of the day was TV and reading.
I texted Hooch to say I'd come up if something was going on. He didn't reply.
Dinner was a frozen meal.

Day 1005
I woke up at 7 and couldn't get back to sleep. I stayed in bed until 8, then we got up and did the pet stuff and had breakfast. I went to the shed and removed the legs from Grandpa's table. Then I loaded some tools into the car and we left for Woodburn. We stopped at Walgreen's for Ellen's drugs and Ace for the rest of the hardware I needed for Grandpa's table.
There was a crash that blocked I5 southbound just south of Concomly. By the time we left Woodburn the traffic was backed up almost to Donald. Tony called me on the way up to ask where to go. I told him to call Hooch.
When we got to Touchmark the receptionist wouldn't let Lucy in because we didn't have her papers. I was pissed. I took my tools upstairs and called Hooch to see if she could stay at his place. While we were talking Ellen brought Lucy in. Apparently she could stay the day as long as she stayed in the room.
We got there first, which gave me time to put the hangers I bought on the table. Hooch arrived just after I finished that. Ellen was unpacking boxes and filling drawers. Hooch was unpacking pictures and hanging the window ornaments.
We worked until lunch time. Ellen and I ate ate the third floor lounge. It was good and not very expensive.
After lunch I was just about to hang the table when Hooch decided he wanted to use wire instead of brackets. That pissed me off because of the time I'd spent on the brackets ad the fact that there was no wire. I ended up driving to Fred Meyer's to get some wire. When I got back I took the brackets off the table and replaced them with wire.
Finally it was time to start hanging pictures. I hung the large embroidery thing and it's two smaller pieces. Then I hung the table. Tony called and we told him to bring Mom over. We spent some time getting the place cleaned up for her to see it.
Mom seemed to like the place. Hooch spent two hours with her deciding where the pictures would go. He also tried to get her to get rid of stuff. He had limited success. I started hanging some pictures while they talked.
About 6 Hooch decided we should go to dinner. Of course dinner on Sat. night in Beaverton involved waiting. We went to a Greek place near Hooch's house. Martha and Sophia met us there. Between waiting for a table and slow service due to crowding we weren't finished with dinner until 9.
We didn't get home until after 10. There was a little surfing and then bed.

Day 1004
We got up at 7, did the pet stuff and had breakfast. I went out and finished repairing the foot stool. Then we left for Woodburn so I could pick up some hardware to use to mount Grandpa's table to the wall. Unfortunately I didn't get all I needed - brain fade.
When we got to Touchmark we started working at unpacking things. Hooch showed up a little later with the whole family, including Leo. That made for a very crowded little room.
We managed to get a lot accomplished today Alicia and Ellen handled unpacking and displaying knick knacks. I unpacked a couple of boxes of stuff and spent a lot of time cleaning up. Leo and Hooch worked on unpacking, too.
Just before lunch Hooch and I went to Laurel Parc to get the wardrobe boxes. When we got back we all had lunch at the 5th floor restaurant. It was really good. After lunch Ellen and Martha worked on putting the wardrobe box contents into the closet. Of course that involved a lot of discarding of clothes. They did the same with Mom's other clothes. I helped a little.
I also put together the plant stand. Unfortunately it's way too big. It will end up at Goodwill.
We worked until after 8. At that point things devolved into Hooch ad Martha fighting over what clothes to discard. Ellen and I left in disgust.
We couldn't stand a third day at Nancy's, so we stopped at Sonic in Wilsonville for dinner. When we got home it was a little TV and surfing before going to bed.

Day 1003
We got up at 8, did the pet stuff and had breakfast. Then I went out and filled the fresh water tank. By then it was about 9 and we left for Mom's.
Hooch and I had a little miscommunication, so he wasn't there when we got there. Fortunately the staff had gotten Mom up. We got to work continuing packing. When Mom was dressed we took her to breakfast. That allowed us to really get going.
Hooch showed up a little before noon. Apparently he wanted me to call his home. Instead I called his home. He bought the two kids. Alicia was really helpful. Sophia was a pain in the ass.
Ellen and Alicia spent a lot of time with Mom getting the rest of her stuff packed up. Dan and I started working on getting the furniture ready to move. Leo showed up and helped us load the furniture on Hooch's truck.
A little later Julia showed up with her mini-van. That thing can hod an incredible amount of stuff. Between Hooch's truck, the mini-van, and Leo's RAV4 we got almost all of the things in Mom's apartment loaded up. The only things left are the wardrobes and a couple of small pieces of furniture.
I took the footstool home with me, it needed repair. I also took Grandpa's coffee table. I need to convert it to a wall hanging. We were done a little after 6. The last thing I did was load the metal shelf into my truck and take it to Hooch's.
We stopped in Woodburn for dinner. I wanted another BLT. When we got home I glued the footstool together. Tomorrow I'll add screws. I also fixed one of Devon's cat toys.
The rest of the evening was TV and surfing. We went to bed early.

Day 1002
We got up about 8, did the pet stuff and had breakfast. I did some surfing and found out that the Ranger doesn't have an OBD II port. So I called Joe and told him I had to take it to Polaris. Then I surfed. Ellen had a lesson at 10, so there wasn't anything else for me to do.
Ellen was finished at 11:30. We had lunch and then went to Mom's. We took the car - much more pleasant. Hooch was there when we got there. So was Alicia.
Hooch went through some stuff I left for him in the kitchen. I piddled around doing a bunch of small stuff - removing screws, making up boxes, and cleaning out the two hall closets. Ellen and Alicia went into the bedroom with Mom and started packing up her clothes.
Hooch had to leave about 5. I just waited around for the wimmenfolk to get done. They called it quits for the day about 6. We took Mom to the dining room for dinner. Then we took a trunk full of stuff to Goodwill. We took Alicia home. I stopped at QVC and bought a chocolate cake for her to have.
We stopped for gas at Wilsonville. We also stopped at Noncy's hamburgers in Woodburn for dinner. We'd never been there. They have a killer BLT. We were home a little before 8.

Day 1001
We got up at 7, did the pet stuff, had breakfast and left to do the wash. We were done with the wash a little after 9.
I texted Dan that we were coming, but didn't call Mom. We got there before Dan. Mom was in bed and wouoildn't get up because "her back hurt". We left her there and went to work. I got the carts and then went to work on the kitchen. Ellen worked on packing up nick knacks.
I threw away two garbage sacks full of expired food. Some of it expired 5 years ago. I also wrapped up a couple of boxes of glassware and other kitchen stuff. Hooch showed up and got Mom out of bed. When she was dressed he took her down to have lunch (it was way past noon by then). Then he finished up going through all of the papers in the second bedroom.
Hooch had to take his trailer in about 1. Ellen ordered takeout from the restaurant across the street and I picked it up. When we finished it was back to more packing. When Hooch returned he bought the family including Leo. The three of us loaded the desk and the cedar chest into Hooch's truck. The chest was full and very heavy.
We took the furniture to Hooch's house and hauled both pieces upstairs. It was a lot of work. We were all sweaty when it was done.
When we got back Ellen and the kids had packed up all of the nick knacks. We did a little more work and called it a day. We stopped at Wilsonville for diesel on the way back and got home about 8.
