Day 1005

I woke up at 7 and couldn't get back to sleep.  I stayed in bed until 8, then we got up and did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  I went to the shed and removed the legs from Grandpa's table.  Then I loaded some tools into the car and we left for Woodburn.  We stopped at Walgreen's for Ellen's drugs and Ace for the rest of the hardware I needed for Grandpa's table.

There was a crash that blocked I5 southbound just south of Concomly.  By the time we left Woodburn the traffic was backed up almost to Donald.  Tony called me on the way up to ask where to go.  I told him to call Hooch.

When we got to Touchmark the receptionist wouldn't let Lucy in because we didn't have her papers.  I was pissed.  I took my tools upstairs and called Hooch to see if she could stay at his place.  While we were talking Ellen brought Lucy in.  Apparently she could stay the day as long as she stayed in the room.

We got there first, which gave me time to put the hangers I bought on the table.  Hooch arrived just after I finished that.  Ellen was unpacking boxes and filling drawers.  Hooch was unpacking pictures and hanging the window ornaments.

We worked until lunch time.  Ellen and I ate ate the third floor lounge.  It was good and not very expensive.

After lunch I was just about to hang the table when Hooch decided he wanted to use wire instead of brackets.  That pissed me off because of the time I'd spent on the brackets ad the fact that there was no wire.  I ended up driving to Fred Meyer's to get some wire.  When I got back I took the brackets off the table and replaced them with wire.

Finally it was time to start hanging pictures.  I hung the large embroidery thing and it's two smaller pieces.  Then I hung the table.  Tony called and we told him to bring Mom over.  We spent some time getting the place cleaned up for her to see it.

Mom seemed to like the place.  Hooch spent two hours with her deciding where the pictures would go.  He also tried to get her to get rid of stuff.  He had limited success.  I started hanging some pictures while they talked.

About 6 Hooch decided we should go to dinner.  Of course dinner on Sat. night in Beaverton involved waiting.  We went to a Greek place near Hooch's house.  Martha and Sophia met us there.  Between waiting for a table and slow service due to crowding we weren't finished with dinner until 9.

We didn't get home until after 10.  There was a little surfing and then bed.
