Day 2408

I woke up at 8:30, got up and did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  Then I packed up the TRX4 and we left for John and Patty's.

They wanted us to show up at noon, which meant we had time to do things.  We stopped at Baumann's to get strawberries and zucchini.  Then it was hit the highway.  The world seemed against us.  I had to wait for a train in Gervais and construction by the Amazon building.

We made good time once we got on I5.  We stopped at Costco and got water and pills.  It was the shortest Costco stop ever.  We also made a short stop at the hobby shop.  That was a waste of time.

The world was still against us.  We had to take a detour at Tigard because 217 was backed up for construction.  We stopped at Whole paycheck for Keto ice cream.  We were going to eat at McMenamin's, but there was only one person working there and we were in a hurry.  We ate at a sub shop instead.  The last stop was Safeway for ice cream and half and half.

We got to John and Patty's a little after noon.  We sat outside the downstairs patio doors while John worked on one of his projects.  I took a little nap.  It was nice and warm and comfortable on the patio.  Eventually we went inside and watched baseball and talked.  I got out the TRX4 and had everyone drive it around.

John and Patty fixed a packaged dinner.  It was really good.  After dinner we talked a lot more and watched more baseball.

The drive home was uneventful.  We were lucky we weren't going north.  There was construction northbound that caused a 1.25 mile traffic jam.

We fed the cats when we got home and then went to bed.

Day 2407

I woke up at 8 and played games until about 8:30.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After thatI went to the shed to work on the Kraton.

I was going to simply install the receiver.  That got complicated quickly when I discovered I had to reroute the servo cable.  That involved removing the servo and the ESC.  I took a shortcut to do the servo that turned out to be a long cut.  The new routing is much better though.

While doing that I noticed that the front wheels were massively out of alignment.  I couldn't figure out whey. so I decided it must be the new servo saver.  Fortunately I didn't get much removed before I discovered it was just the built in slop in the front end.  I remember a video saying how to fix it.  Another thing to do.

I hooked up the receiver and transmitter and zeroed the servo.  Then I installed the horn.  Installing the receiver involves removing the servo box.  It was getting warm and I wanted to shoot, so I quit.

I went back to the house and got out the shooting stuff.  It was really pleasant, mid 70's.  I was going to practice consistency.  I did, but I actually shot worse than Sunday.  Oh well, at least it didn't count.  When we were done we ate lunch and the went back to the club to buy ammo.

I emailed Pat about seeing them tomorrow.  She said that would be fine.  We're bringing some stuff for dinner and getting there about noon.

Dinner was frozen encheladas and shortcake.  After dinner was surfing.

Day 2406

I woke up at 8 and got up.  When I turned on the water in the bathroom there was none.  The illegals from the farm had disconnected the hose.  I put on clothes and went out and reconnected it.  When I got back I noticed that my knife wasn't in my pocket.  I searched around inside and didn't find it.  Eventually I went back outside and retraced my steps.  Luckily I found it in the grass.  I changed clothes because the shorts I had on had a hole in the pocket.

After a late breakfast we went to the laundromat.  When the wash was done we went to Safeway.  The next stop was Coastal.  I wanted to get some herbicide.  The shelves were almost completely bare.  I managed to get one small container of 2,4 D.  FUCK BIDEN.

After that we stopped at AC Greasy and then went home.

While we were at the laundromat the trailer axle guy called.  He said Dexter wanted pictures of the axle labels.  When we got home I crawled under the trailer and got them.  It was not a pleasant experience.  Then I texted them to him.

My original plan was to shoot in the afternoon.  However, we were both tired.  Ellen's asshole started to give her trouble and we never made it out.

The rest of the afternoon was surfing followed by a nap.  Ellen fixed a dinner kit from Safeway for dinner.  It was good.  After dinner was TV.

Day 2405

I woke up about 8 and played games for about half an hour.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast. We were both really tired from the last week, so today was a rest day.  With that in mind the morning was surfing.

About noon we decided to go to Jone's Farm for strawberries.  We also went to the post office.  Unfortunately Jone's didn't have any Oregon berries, so we went to the Salem store.

On the way we stopped at Hops and Drops.  I had two drinks.  Together they cost more than our lunches.  When we were done we walked over to Bed, Bath, and Beyond.  Ellen said she wanted a smoothie/milkshake maker.  We got one, 20% off.

After that we did get to the farm store.  We didn't get strawberries (the looked bad), but we got milk (for milkshakes).  We decided to go to Baumann's for peaches, but they didn't have any.  They did have strawberries.  Then it was home.

By then the temp was 92.  We stayed in the house surfing and watching TV.  I did go outside to dump the tanks.

Dinner was leftovers from lunch.

Day 2404

I woke up a little after 8 and played games for an hour and a half.  I was on a roll.  Ellen fed the cats, so when I got up it was for breakfast.

After breakfast I got out the cart for Ellen and then surfed.  I basically surfed from breakfast until it was time to got to the course at 2.  By then it was in the 90's.  It eventually got up to 97.

I'm not sure if I should be happy or sad at my shooting.  I started out ragged, missing one target per station.  Then I started running everything.  I did that for most of the course.  I was really focused with trying to keep up with the three other good shooters in our squad.  I ended up with a 89.  I would have had a 94 except I missed 5 targets in the last three stations.  Two were a missed pair I should never have missed.  My only excuse was that I was hot and tired.

I was so tired that I had to stop at the clubhouse on the way back to rest and cool off.  I just couldn't make it back to the trailer.  Ellen stayed to watch the shoot offs and awards.  I just went to the trailer.  I sat recovering for a little bit and then had a shower.  After the shower I surfed until Ellen came home.  It turns out that I won A class out-of-state.  I would have one class HOA if I hadn't fucked up those 5 birds.  I still one a really nice trophy and a check for $100.

I had leftovers for dinner.  After dinner was some surfing and TV.

Saturday, June 25, 2022

Day 2403

I woke up about 8 and played games for a while.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After that I went out to the shed and got the fan for the Kraton motor.  It was supposed to fit 40-42 mm motors.  It fit 34 mm motors.  I was pissed, especially when I discovered the return period was over.  I took the time to write a 1 star review.

That disappointed me so much that I decided not to work on the Kraton.  I got out the CPAP machine instead.  I unpacked it and set it up on the side board in the bedroom.  Everything fit fairly well.  The instructions said to wash the water tank and hose before using.  It's messy without a machine.  I can't call for a recommendation until Monday.  I left it until then.

We shot at 11:30.  The start station is on the other side of the course.  It made for a long walk.  All total the watch said I walked almost 3 miles on the course.  The weather was hot, high 80's and the targets were great.  I shot an 85, which didn't make me happy.  I missed 4 easy ones.  An 89 would have made me happy.

When we were finished we went back to the trailer for lunch.  Then we went to the club to visit for a while.  After that we went back for some TV and showers.  Then it was back to the club for dinner.

Dinner was nice, but they didn't rent a tent.  Lots of people had to sit in the sun.  Ellen got put in the hall of fame as a "service award".  We had a great time talking with people.

We went home a little after 8.  We watched TV for a couple of hours and then went to bed.

Day 2402

I woke up about 8 and played games for a while.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After a little surfing I went out to the shed to install the ESC in the Kraton.

The install went pretty easily.  The only problem was that the Hobbywing ESC mount didn't match the Kraton one.  I had to drill a hole in the Kraton mount to make it all work.  It didn't take a lot of time to finish and I had a sense of accomplishment when it was done.

We needed more cat food so the next activity was a trip to the pet food store.  They had some of what we needed, but very little stock.  We had to buy some other stuff to make up for the lack.  Fuck Biden.

After that I decided to buy some DEF.  I've been reading that it's getting in short supply.  It is, both Bi-Mart and O'Rielly's were sold out.  I bought the last two at an Auto zone for $22 each.  It used to be under $13.  I now have 4 jugs now, which should be enough to get back to Texas.

After that we went home.  Lunch was a sandwich.  I had originally planned on either setting up the CPAP or installing the Kraton motor.  I just wasn't motivated and today was supposed to be a day of rest before the weekend shoot.  I ended up watching TV,playing games, and a little surfing instead.

Ellen fixed stir fry for dinner.  After dinner we watched TV and a movie.

Thursday, June 23, 2022

Day 2401

I woke up at 7:45 and played games for about 45 minutes.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  We didn't shoot until 12:30, so we just killed time surfing until it was time to get ready and leave.

The day was bright and sunny, but the morning was cool, low 60's.  It warmed up a little while we were shooting.  I shot very well for the first three stations.  Then I fell apart for the next three.  I'm not sure why, they weren't any harder targets.  I ran the last station.  That performance will get me a big fat nothing.  I was disappointed.

When we were finished we walked over to the clubhouse for lunch.  There was a Pilla dealer at the clubhouse.  He had some new frames that were really nice.  Ellen liked them, too.  We decided to possibly get them, but we needed to go back to the trailer to see what we already had.  When we got there the bank emailed Ellen saying to check the bank card charges.  She did, but there wasn't anything wrong.

Eventually we got back to the Pilla dealer.  I ended up buying frames and a bright weather lens.  I know have all the Pilla stuff I think I'll ever need.  Ellen bought frames and three lenses.  I think she's planning on selling her current stuff.

It was 5 and time to feed the cats by the time we were finished.  Ellen fixed pork chops for dinner.  After dinner was TV.

Wednesday, June 22, 2022

Day 2400

I woke up about 7:30 and played games for a while.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  When that was finished I went out to poison the environment.

I didn't have as much herbicide as I thought I did, but I had enough to mix up a tank.  I sprayed everything I wanted to and had 4 gallons left over.  I just used it to go around the margins of the gravel and to go over some of the more heavily grown areas.

When I was finished I took a shower.  I needed it.  Then we went to the club to pay for the tournament and buy ammunition.  We drove back to the trailer because I needed to get my license.  Then we were going to Baumann's.  The sewer guy drove up just as we were leaving.  It was noon.

Draining the tank was a slow process.  I just couldn't get the tank to flush.  I finally sort of gave up.  I knew the tank wasn't really clean, so I had Ellen fill it up with the wand.  When I got the wand back, it showed she put in 70, not 7 gallons.  I looked closer and saw that the meter was reading liters.  She'd put 18 gallons in the tank.  Fuck.

I had to get a bucket to drain the tank.  That's when I found out how much hadn't come out.  I hauled 4 1/2 5 gallon bucket of shit, piss, and toilet paper behind where the septic tank was.  It wasn't pleasant.  The tank wasn't flushed because I was putting in liters instead of gallons when I was trying to flush it.

I had Ellen use the wand to put in 7 gallons.  Then I put everything away.  By then it was well over 80, sunny, and I was hot and sweaty.  I had to sit inside for a while before I felt like going to Baumann's.

Eventually we drove there.  We bought a peach pie, strawberries, and some donuts.  We also got a windmill.  Then we went to AC Greasy for lunch.

When we got home I sat down in the recliner Where I spent the remainder of the afternoon and evening game playing, surfing, and TV.  Dinner was leftovers.

Day 2399

I woke up at 8, did the pet stuff an had breakfast, and then loaded up the car for the trip to the laundromat.

The wash went as usual.  I called Joe while I was there.  There was good news and bad.  The good news is that he thinks he can get axles.  The bad news is that he can't install them.  He has a bad back.  Apparently he has a contact that might be able to.  We'll see.

After the laundry I bought another tube of roof sealant at the HW store.  Then we stopped at Safeway and Walgreen's.  By that time it was 11:30, so we ate at Arby's.

We stopped at the post office on the way home.  When we got home I got out the stuff to fix the shed roof.  It was hot and uncomfortable on the roof.  Ellen had to stand at the bottom of the ladder to hand me stuff.  She also had to hold it when I went down.  When I was finished she had to use brake cleaner to get the sealant off my arm and hand.

I took a shower as soon as I got back to the trailer.  Initially the water coming out of the cold tap was hatter than the water from the hot tap.  I had to wait until all of the water that was in the hose outside had come through.

After that it was watching TV.  I was tired. That ended up taking up the rest of the day and evening.  Dinner was the extra sandwiches we bought at Arby's.

I did hook up the batter charger to the sprayer.  I may spray for weeds tomorrow.

Monday, June 20, 2022

Day 2398

I woke up at 10.  I actually slept that late.  I got up for breakfast, Ellen and fed the cats.  I called Joe, and left a message.  Then I went out to the shed to clean my Perazzi.

Cleaning the gun took quite a while.  It was very dirty.  When it was done I got out the shooting stuff and we went around the course.  I shot really well.  If I can shoot that well in the tournament I should do well.  The weather was perfect, some clouds and low 70's.

We got done about 2.  I had lunch and then sat down to do some surfing and TV watching.

Ellen fixed stir fry for dinner.  I happened to check my phone.  Joe had called when we were out shooting.  I'll have to call him tomorrow.

After dinner was more TV.

You don't get a lot done when you stay in bed until 10.

Sunday, June 19, 2022

Day 2397

I woke up a little after 7 and played games until after 8.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After a little surfing I went out to the shed to work on the Kraton.

Getting the front diff out of the truck was fairly easy.  The fluid replacement went smoothly, too.  Unfortunately when I put the diff back together it wouldn't turn.  So I took it apart and reassembled it.  It still didn't work.  I took it apart again and looked over every part.  Then I reassembled it again.  This time it worked.

After that I put away all of the tools and got out the stuff for replacing the battery connectors.  Then I stopped for lunch.  After lunch I went back out to do soldering and Ellen left to go shooting with a women's group.  After a while she came back, the group didn't show.

This was likely to be the last chance to practice, so I quit soldering and went shooting.  I did pretty well except for some inconsistency and one station where I couldn't seem to hit anything.  I wish I'd had a little more practice before the state next weekend.  We may shoot tomorrow.

When we were finished shooting I went out and finished the connectors.  I also built a shorting connector so I could use one battery with the Kraton if I want to.

It was after 5 when I got done.  I went back inside.  Ellen fixed cube steak and salad for dinner.  It was good.  After dinner was a movie and TV.

Saturday, June 18, 2022

Day 2396

I woke up about 8 and played games until 8:30.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After breakfast I went to the shed to work on the Kraton.

I removed the center differential and started to replace its fluid.  Everything was pretty straightforward until I got to removing one of the pins.  No matter how hard I tried, it seemed to long to be removed.  All of the YouTube videos had people just pulling it out with pliers.  After a lot of time and frustration I noticed a set screw on the side of the case.  Removing it allowed me to push the pin out the hole.  After that the rest of the process was pretty easy, but a little time consuming.

I finished the diff at 12:30.  I wanted to get some strawberries and go to Norvac.  We just discovered yesterday that it still existed.  We got the strawberries and went to Norvac.  I bought the LEDs I was looking for, and a couple of other items just to give them a bigger sale.  We also stopped at Freddies to get some groceries and distilled water.  We forgot the water.  After lunch at Mickey D's we went home.

When we got home I went back out to the shed and started to work on the rear differential.  I was a little hard to get out.  Changing the fluid was time consuming, but easy.  I'd done one already.  Putting the diff back in was a bitch.

I'd greased the ring gear - bad idea.  Fitting the diff back in was really hard because the dog bones didn't want to stay in place.  My hands got so greasy that I couldn't get a good grip on the parts.  I had to go inside and wash them off with soap.  There was a shim on one side of the diff that made it hard to get in also.  Eventually I succeeded.

Ellen had dinner almost ready when I got back in.  She fixed salad and a loaded baked potato.  It was really good.

After dinner I drained the tanks and surfed.  I'm hoping to get the front diff done tomorrow.

Friday, June 17, 2022

Day 2395

I woke up a little before 8 and played games until 9  There was no point in getting up, it was raining cats and dogs.  After pet stuff and breakfast I decided to surf for a while until the rain stopped.  I didn't.  I ended up surfing the entire morning. To make up for not working on the Kraton I watched videos on working on the diffs.  I think I can do it fairly easily.

I also read the instructions for the CPAP machine that I got yesterday.  It's pretty complicated.  I won't  be able to use it until we get some distilled water.  I'm pretty sure I won't like using it.

Devon's vet appointment was at 2:15.  They said that if we were more than 15 minutes late they would cancel the appointment.  To make sure we got there in time we had lunch and then left at 1.

It was good we left early.  There was a crash on I5 that backed up traffic from Donald.  We had to drive up on 99 and get on I5 at the Canby exit.  We got lucky.  We didn't have to stop at any lights in either Woodburn or Hubbard.  We did get hung up a little at a stop sign just before the entrance.

I5 and 217 were moving pretty well.  We got to the vet a half hour early.  The bad news was southbound traffic was stop and go from Beaverton to past Wilsonville.  We weren't going back that way.

We waited until after the appointment to get in.  At least they let us in with masks.  They examined Devon and couldn't find anything obvious.  The tests will be back early next week.  We left there a little after 3.

We drove to Murray and took it south past Scholl's ferry.  Ellen's map app took us on a bunch of back roads that eventually led to 99.  We drove on 99 for a while and then drove on a new road that took us all the way down to Tonquin.  We crossed Tonquin and went to farther south on back roads.  We eventually got to the Fred Meyer gas station in Wilsonville.

We waited for 20 minutes to get gas.  I had to us a lane opposite the gas cap.  The jerk pumping gas said we had to use another lane.  That meant another 20 minute wait.  I was tired and cranky, so I cursed him out and left.  We fought more traffic getting on to I5, but it wasn't super terrible.  After that the drive home was OK.

We got home a little before 5.  We had frozen fish for dinner.  After dinner was a movie and a bunch more TV.

Thursday, June 16, 2022

Day 2394

I woke up about 8 and played games for quite a while.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After that it was time to replace the soap dish in the shower.  The new one attaches to the wall instead of the door.  That gives me a little more room.

When that was done (it took minutes) I went outside to work on the Kraton  I installed the servo arm and the servo.  Then I walked over to the club and picked up the batteries.  I took them back and test fitted them.  They barely fit.  I was going to change the connectors, but the video I looked at recommended using flux.  So I ordered some instead.

I needed bananas, so we went to Safeway.  We stopped at the post office on the way back and picked up diff oil.  I might rebuild a diff tomorrow.  I'll do the shed roof if it won't rain for the next two days instead.

After lunch I completely ran out of motivation.  I use some scrap plastic to modify the silverware dryer, then I sat down and watched TV.  That turned into a nap.

Dinner was frozen pizza.  After dinner was TV until time for bed.

Wednesday, June 15, 2022

Day 2393

We got up at 7, did pet stuff and breakfast, and left for Beaverton.  Traffic was OK until we got to 205.  Then it was almost stop and go until after Tualatin.

The truck has exactly 25000 miles on it when we left the club.  It was also at 99% ash level.  It was doing a "warmup" by the time we got to the freeway and started the regen just after we got on.  The regen lasted until the slow down at 205.  It ended with a 10% ash level.  I'm happy with that.

We got to the dentist about half and hour to 45 minutes early.  We sat around until a little after 9.  I went first.  when I was done I went over to the coffee to wait.  I couldn't eat or drink because of the fluoride treatment they'd put on.  I bought a small cup of coffee and surfed.

When Ellen was done We went to Tammie's.  I bought a few incidentals.  Then we had lunch at the bagel place.  After that we went to John and Patty's.

John showed us his new Starlink setup.  It looks like something we might want to get.  Then we went inside and talked for hours.  Patty fixed sandwiches for dinner.  After dinner we watched the Dodger's game.  They won.

We left about 10 and were home in less than an hour.  Traffic was really light.

Tuesday, June 14, 2022

Day 2392

We woke up a little before 8, did the pet stuff and had breakfast, and left for the laundromat.  The washing of the clothes went as usual.

When the washing was done we stopped at Safeway for a few items.  Then it was Dutch Brothers for coffee (it was 55 and raining).  The next two stops were Tru-Value for PB blaster and the liquor store for scotch.  Liquor prices are really high.  Ellen says Oregon has a $22/gallon tax.

We picked up some packages at the post office and then drove down to the RC store.  I bought the carpet car.  It has a million parts will be a great thing to build.  Also I wanted to patronize the place.

The weather had cleared up by the time we got home.  We put everything away and then went shooting.  I'm shooting pretty well, but my consistency sucks.

When we were done shooting we stopped at one of the trailers and got information that might allow us to get a dog like Dave's.  We'll have to talk to a trainer, who is supposed to know the breeder.

The rest of the afternoon was surfing.  Dinner was a frozen dinner.  After dinner was TV and some surfing.  Hurrah, the Dodgers won.  They've been sucking.

Monday, June 13, 2022

Day 2391

I woke up at 8:30 and played games for long enough that Ellen got up first.  She did the pet stuff and then I got up for breakfast.  It wasn't raining, but it looked like it was about to.  I played games for a while and then went to the shed to work on the Kraton.  I took the RC tools from the trailer with me.  It started to rain as I did so.

I put the car stand together, but really didn't use it.  Then I fired up the tablet with the install video on it.  Unfortunately the video didn't show a couple of items.  I figured out what to do based on the watching the reassembly.  That took a while.

I got the disassembly done and ran into the next problem.  In the video the front end just came off, probably because it was used.  Mine was new and tight.  It took a while to figure out that I needed to pull on it in a special way.  That took more time.

The next step was assembling the new servo saver.  I knew that would be difficult, the video said so.  I ended up removing another piece to make it easier.  Removing the piece was easy.  Getting it back on wasn't.  Again, more time.

At least putting everything back together went mostly smoothly.  I felt really proud of the accomplishment.  I went back to the trailer for lunch - it was after 2.  I drained the tanks and ordered the diff fluid.  Then I surfed and watched TV until dinner.  Ellen fixed hamburgers.

After dinner was TV.

Devon has a little blood in his piss.  We have to take him in on Friday.  It's the only appointment available for 6 weeks.  I hope it's nothing serious.  He is a pure bred cat, which can lead to problems.

Sunday, June 12, 2022

Day 2390

I woke up a little after 8.  It was raining.  It rained off and on for most of the day.  When it wasn't raining, it was about to rain.  It didn't get to 60 all day.  That pretty much put an end to any shooting.

That meant that after et stuff and breakfast it was the internet.  There was some surfing and some shopping (I didn't order anything).  Later on it was TV.

I'd planned on working on the Kraton, but it was raining too hard to walk to the shed.  After a while I just lost interest.

Ellen fixed chicken for dinner.

All in all it was a boring day.

Saturday, June 11, 2022

Day 2389

I had a hard time getting to sleep last night - I stayed up until 3.  I got up a little after 8 and played games for a while.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  It was raining intermittently all day, so that put a stop to shooting.

Instead of shooting I went out and started to glue the Kraton body.  I had screwed up with the tape.  First, I didn't wash the body first.  Second, I put down more than one layer of tape in a lot of places.  These things made it hard to glue.  I ended up using both tubes of glue and still not being done.

Running out of glue led to a trip to Lowe's.  I bought another tube of glue and some rubber gloves (the ones I had sucked).  We stopped at the cafe in Brooks for lunch.  It was very good, and also very expensive.  We probably won't go back there often because of the price.

When we got back I went out to finished gluing the body.  We'll see how it came out tomorrow.  All the rain we've had shows that the roof leaks like a sieve.  I really need to get that fix as soon as we have some dry days.  It's supposed to rain tomorrow though.  I watched videos in the shed with the car about the servo and diffs.  It doesn't seem too hard to do the work I need to do.

It was almost 5 when I got done.  I went back inside and surfed until dinner.  Dinner was leftovers from lunch.

After dinner was TV and some surfing.

Friday, June 10, 2022

Day 2388

I woke up about 8, played games for a short while, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  It was a pretty nice day, just partly cloudy when I got up.  I was going to shoot.  By the time breakfast was done it looked like rain, so that plan was off.

I spent some time on the computer making the final battery decision.  I even made a couple of more templates to insure the one I bought would fit.  Then I ordered it.

The rain hadn't started yet, so we went outside and Ellen cut my hair.  It was beginning to come down by the time she was finished, but the tree we were under protected us.  After that it started to rain off and on.

We needed groceries, so it was off to Safeway.  The only other stop was the post office.  When we got home it was really raining.  I did a little surfing and then went to sit in the recliner.  I fell asleep almost immediately.  I slept for at least 2 hours, maybe more.

When I woke up Ellen fixed coconut shrimp for dinner.  After dinner was TV.  By then it was raining pretty heavily.  The rain continued until we went to bed.

Thursday, June 9, 2022

Day 2387

The sewer truck woke us up at 7.  I hurriedly put on pants and a sweatshirt and went out to see him.  It took a while to drain.  When it was finished I wasn't sure it was clean.  I filled the tank halfway, hooked up the sewer hose, and dumped it on the gravel.  Everything was clean.  Then I put everything away.  I was finished about 8.

I went back inside to dress and have breakfast.  Ellen called the bank.  The Kraton vendor had refunded our money.  I went to Amain to order one.  They were sold out with next shipment mid July.  I looked at several other places.  Everyone was out.

The local hobby stores didn't open until 10, so I repaired the TRX-4.  I looked at the local hobby stores and the one in Happy Valley had one.  I still had to wait until they opened to call them.  I called them a little after 10 and reserved it.

We drove to Happy Valley, a 80 mile round trip.  I got the Kraton.  We also stopped at the Costco there and got water and a few other things.  On the way back we stopped at the sushi place for lunch.  It was good.  The post office had the last part I'd ordered.

When we got back I went out to the shed and unboxed the Kraton.  Then I spent quite a bit of time putting drywall tape on the body.  I'll glue it down tomorrow.  Then I went inside and shopped for the remaining parts I needed.  I also made up a mock up from cardboard of the max size battery pack I can install in the Kraton.

Dinner was leftover pizza.  After dinner was TV and a little shopping.  I came up with several options for batteries, but I didn't order them.  I want to do a little more research tomorrow.

It started raining heavily on and off during the evening.  Apparently it's going to rain more tomorrow.

Day 2386

I woke up about 8, played some games for a short while, and then got up to do pet stuff and have breakfast.  I tried to get a refund on the Kraton order, but got stymied by the website.  I passed it off to Ellen and went outside to set up to drain the black tank.

While I was doing that Ellen found out that Amazon won't do a refund.  They say "contact the vendor".  She tried to do a charge back on the card, and they said the same thing.  She contacted the vendor.  That makes no sense.  UPS says they never received a package.  Besides, it's not our problem to contact THEIR shipper.  That's where it sits right now, waiting on a reply from the vendor.

I called the CPAP people and got the machine ordered.  I'm not sure when it will arrive.  Then we went over to the club and bought 1800 targets.  That gives us over 3000 on two cards.

We went back to the trailer to wait for the sewer truck.  I made a short trip to the post office to pick up two packages.  There was another one that came to the club later.  All of it was stuff for the Kraton.

I did some surfing, started watching TV, and fell asleep.  I didn't wake up until almost 6.  The sewer guy didn't come, and Ellen had done nothing.  Luckily they were still open when she called.  They are supposed to come tomorrow morning.

Dinner was frozen pizza.  After dinner was more TV and surfing.

It's been two days without rain.  I'll try to fix the shed roof tomorrow.  After that the only "todo" thing left is spraying the gravel.

Day 2385

I woke up at 8, got up and did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  After that we left to do the laundry.

Washing the clothes was routine.  We did meet the owner and had a nice talk with him.  When the wash was done we drove south to get some cat food.  When we passed the Costco it was closed.  Apparently they've moved it to the one they built on Keubler.  Oh joy, a longer drive to one.

After the cat food we drove to a RC store.  I talked to the owner and learned about a carpet racing car.  I may build one when the basher is finished.  There was also a cool RTR boat that looked inviting.

By then it was noon, so we ate at Hops-n-Drops.  I had a quesadilla.  Half of it was for dinner.   It was a nice day, fairly sunny and low 70's.  It was nice eating outside after all the days of rain.  I decided to go over to Lowe's and buy a DeWalt 12V drill/driver.  I'd wanted one, but I didn't want to pay the sales tax.

We went home an decided to shoot for the first time since we got back.  As we were getting ready Gerry and Garret showed up.  We shot with them.  It was a lot of fun.  I actually shot pretty well.  My eyes are finally beginning to coordinate again.

I was hot and tired when we were finished.  I took a shower and fed the cats.  A little later I had the rest of the quesadilla for dinner.

I started looking into the car that the guy at the RC place recommended.  He wants $40 more than Amazon for it, but if I buy one I'll buy it from him.  If I do one it will probably cost about $650 to $700.  It might be usable in Austin also.

The rest of the evening was looking at car info and watching TV.

Day 2384

A junk phone call woke me up at 5.  I went back to sleep and didn't wake up until 9.  After some gaming I got up for breakfast.  Elle did the pet stuff.  It wasn't raining, but it was cold and looked like it would.  I decided to just surf.

I surfed until a little after 12.  Then I decided to pick up a package at the post office.  I also wanted to get some 12 ga wire for wiring up the RC batteries.  I ended up getting 2 feet of 12 ga 3 wire cable at the hardware store and taking it apart.

We also stopped at Arby's for lunch.  I had a craving.

When we got home I unwrapped the package.  It was the torque wrench.  It's much better than the one I was using.  Also, I'll take care to store it zeroed.  I didn't do that for the current one.  By then it was raining.

After that I went back inside for a little more surfing.  That morphed into some TV and a long nap.

Dinner was leftover Arby's sandwiches.  Then it was some surfing and a lot of TV.

Day 2383

I woke up a little after 8.  I played games for over an hour.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  The weather was a little sketchy so we surfed for a while waiting to see if it was going to rain.  It didn't, so we decided to go to the grocery store for orange juice, bananas, etc.

After dinner we went home.  I had lunch and then walked around the club.  I listened to a podcast that was supposed to me about Medieval history, but turned out to to have a large dose of woke bullshit.  I won't be doing that again.I was kind of tired when I got back, so I sat in the recliner and watched TV while doing a little surfing.

It started to rain in the afternoon and rained on and off all evening.  So much for fixing the shed roof or doing spraying.

Ellen fixed a frozen dinner we got at Safeway.  It was OK.  After that was more TV.  The limit on the Verizon data has put a ca-bash on surfing videos.

2382

I woke up about 7:15 and played games until after 9.  It was raining and I was on a roll.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.

It rained most of the day, sometimes really hard.  We spent the whole day in the trailer.  We were amazed at the number of people shooting in the rain.

Ellen watched TV and I spent some time surfing and shopping.  In the late afternoon I started watching videos.  I've been using my phone to connect to the internet.  Ellen told me it had unlimited data.  It turns out it doesn't for tethering.  I got a notice that I only have 2.5G for the next 2 weeks.  Crap.

Ellen fixed spaghetti for dinner.  After dinner it was TV.

Day 2381

I woke up at 8:30.  It was raining.  That meant no roof work and no shooting today.  I stayed in bed and played games instead.  Eventually it was time for pet stuff and breakfast.

I spent most of the morning and the first part of the afternoon shopping.  I ended up buying the ESC and motor for the Kraton along with a couple of miscellaneous parts.  I ordered almost all of the stuff from Amain.  The Kraton from Amazon didn't ship today, which means there's no way it will be here by Wednesday.  When I get my refund I'll reorder it from Amain.  Fuck Amazon.

After that we went to Arby's for a late lunch.  I stopped by the post office, but I forgot my key.  After Arby's we went to Jones Farm to get more strawberries.  Then it was home.

We spent the rest of the afternoon and evening surfing and watching TV.  Did I mention it was raining?

I kind of enjoyed the on-line shopping.  I just need to find something to buy.

Day 2380

I woke up a little before 8 and played games for quite a while.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After breakfast it was outside to work on the shed roof.

I climbed up on the roof and used the sander I bought to smooth out the caulking.  It didn't work very well.  It did work a little though.  Then I used a brush and some soapy water to clean all of the area I plan on putting tape on.  That's all I could do until it all dried out.

The west side of the shed roof was covered in moss, almost totally green.  I started cleaning it off with the hose.  That didn't work all that well, so I started using the brush.  That worked better, but it was still a lot of work.  I must have spent over an hour cleaning it all off.  By then it was after 11 and I was wet and very tired.

I went back into the house and checked on the delivery of the Kraton.  They've delayed the delivery date by 5 days.  I got the tracking number from Amazon and looked it up.  The assholes haven't even shipped it yet.  I have to wait for 5 more days before I can get a refund.

I surfed until about 1 and then we left to get drugs.  I forgot that CVS closes at 1:30.  They were closed when we got there, so we ate at Mickey D's again.  When I went back they hadn't transferred the prescription like I'd asked them two.  It was another half an hour before I could get the drugs.

We finally made it to Wally World for TP and Walgreen's for Ellen's drugs.  We stopped at the post office and picked up a package that actually came when it was supposed to.

When we got home I surfed until dinner time.  Ellen fixed pork chops.  After dinner was TV and a little surfing.

Day 2379

I woke up at 8:30, played games for a while, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After that I went out to work on the shed roof.

I got out the ladder and climbed up to take a look.  It was immediately apparent that I would have to smooth out all of the old caulking if I wanted a good seal.  I don't have any tools to do that.  I wanted to make some progress though, so I measured out what I needed to patch the roof.  Then I opened up the roofing package and cut the pieces I needed.  That's as far as I could go, so I went back inside.

I just didn't feel like doing anything else, so I just surfed until about noon.  Then we took off for Harbor Freight where I bought a cheap sander and some sand paper.  We also stopped at Roth's for milk and Mickey D's for lunch.  We ordered from their kiosk.  It was entertaining.

The next stop was the Salem farm store.  We got a peach pie and some strawberries.  We also went to Baumann's for some pound cake and a couple of plants.  We stopped by the post office (nothing) on the way home.

When we got home I sat down in the recliner and surfed for a while before going to sleep.  It was 7 when I woke up.  I made a salad for dinner.  Then I watched a movie before going to bed.
