We're on the road again. We got up with the alarm, did the pet stuff, and had breakfast. No surfing or sleeping in. As soon as breakfast was over we started the wash and started moving the last of the personal items to the trailer. When I was finished with my items I started moving the guns.
I barely got them all in. There's very little additional space under the bed.I'm glad some of them are making a one way trip. As soon as I was finished with that it was time to hook up the trailer. That went really smoothly.
There were a couple of glitches when we got to the gate. I watched Ellen's directions instead of my mirrors. She positioned me too far to the right. I barely got the trailer through the gate and past the opener post. When I got out to check things there was water leaking from the back left of the trailer. That gave me something to worry about all the way to San Antonio.
The tire gauges worked well at first. In fact, I think they saved our asses. We got down around New Braunfels and two of the gauges alarmed for pressure greater than 90 psi. I pulled off the freeway and checked with the hand gauge. They were above 90. I aired the down to 83. The rest of the trip the signals for the different gauges would come and go. That never happened when we went to Las Vegas. I tried to test it with the signal booster, but I turned on the wrong switch. I think the gauge batteries are low. I have spares which I will put in. Ellen ordered more when we got to the park.
Setting up at the park went smoothly. Painting the hitch pin yellow was a good idea. It allows me to see when the trailer starts to lift off the hitch plate. I stop it there and the handle pulls easily. Then I raise it a little more before pulling the truck away.
We seem to be lucky about the water. I hooked it up and there hasn't been any sign of a leak. The propane alarm went off though. One of the burner controls got bumped. It was barely on, but the alarm sensed it even though the door was open.
After a late lunch we went over to the club. We signed up, bought some shells we didn't need, and bought some t-shirts we didn't need either. Nothing was open, so we walked around a little and left.
On the way back we stopped at HEB for a couple of items. I did my exercises before dinner. The exercise room is cramped and warm, but adequate. After dinner John and Patty called. We talked on speaker phone for quite awhile. They are driving down to see us tomorrow. The rest of the evening was surfing.
One note. There's a lot of road building going on. They are completely redoing 1604 south of Culebra. The construction makes getting to the park somewhat of a pain in the ass. Getting on to 1604 from the club is now really easy. There are two new stop lights to contend with on the parkway though. The parkway now runs past Roft road. That just seems weird.
