We woke up at 7:30, but didn't get out of bed until 9:15. We just stayed in bed and surfed. When we did get up it was pet stuff and breakfast. After that it was surfing.
Since I wasn't going to shoot the subgauge, I decided to clean those guns and put them away. The 28 ga must have been cleaned before we came up. It only had 50 rounds through it, so it wasn't dirty. The 20 gauge was a little dirty, so I gave it a quick cleaning.
After that we wet to the club. Ellen talked to the Ceasar Guerini about her gun. The guy took some pictures to talk to the gun smith. I also talked to him about a gun I liked that's out of production. He's going to send me pictures of one.
The food people were there because of the tournament. They weren't serving BLT's, so we ate lunch at the trailer. After lunch we took the dog swimming. She really enjoyed herself. Then we stopped at Jones Farm. They had seeded watermelons, so I bought one along with some pears.
When we got home we just surfed. There didn't seem to be any reason to go to the club. About 5:30 Ellen went into the bedroom. Fletcher was laying on the bed dead. He hadn't been dead long, the body was still warm. We won't be able to take him to the vet to be cremated until Monday, so I got a ammo box from the burn pile and put him in it. Then I took him to the shed.
There was no indication this morning that Fletcher was that bad off. Both Ellen and I are pretty torn up by his death - I don't want to write any more about it.
When Fletcher died he vomited on the bed, so we had to strip it and take it to the laundromat. The place was pretty crowded, but there were plenty of open machines. We got back a little before 8.
Ellen put the bed together while I fed Lucy and Devin and put away all of Fletcher's stuff. We'll take all the vet supplies and food to the vet to donate. I also put away the duplicate kitty bowls an disassembled the IV bag holder.
Devin is not tied up anymore, but we kept the leash on him. He's been going all over the bedroom trying to locate Fletcher. I doubt he'll remember Fletcher for long.
The rest of the evening was TV.
I'm going to miss Fletcher when I go to bed. He's been sleeping with me for years.
