Day 2611

I got up at 8, played games for a short while, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After breakfast we went over to the apartment to say goodbye to John and Melissa.

We talked for a while in the kitchen and then started loading up the car.  They have a huge amount of stuff.  When we were finished there wasn't much room left for two people and the dog.  We said our goodbyes and they left about 10.

After they left I went out to the gate and re-positioned the rebar that was banging the gate stop.  It seemed to make a small improvement.  Then I went back inside to put a new flapper on the guest toilet.

A note on Cooper.  He is now continually trying to open the front door.  That means we have to keep both doors locked at all times.  It's a pain in the ass.

I tried to shut off the toilet valve in the guest bathroom.  It started to leak as soon a I turned it.  I shut it off and had Ellen hold the float up.  The bottom of the float started leaking, probably because she touched it.  It was loose and quit leaking when I tightened it up.  The new flapper fit perfectly and stopped the leak.  We'll see long term.

I was planning on fixing the floor, but I ran out of ambition.  I was going to take the old bikes for donation, but we decided to wait until next week when we can go shooting, too.  Instead the rest of the day turned into video watching and reading.  I'm half way through the book.  Unfortunately it's getting a little less interesting.

Ellen went to teach the kids.  That meant I had a frozen dinner - the first in weeks.
