I woke up at 7:30 and played games until 8. Then it was up for breakfast and hooking up. We left the park a little before 9.
When we started out there was a strong cross wind. It eventually turned into a headwind. Mileage was a little over 8. That meant that I had to stop for fuel a little before Van Horn. When I got out of the truck the wind was strong enough to make it a little difficult to stand. The wind continued until we got to El Paso.
Between the wind and the lousy fuel that we got in Fort Stockton the overall mileage for the day was about 8.5. The mileage was really low, and the EGT's were really high, before I got fuel. Fortunately the additional fuel wasn't bio diesel. Mixing it lowered the EGT's by at least 100 degrees and raised the mileage by almost 1 mpg. Doing a regen for 30 miles didn't help the mileage either.
Driving through El Paso was about as easy as it gets. Traffic wasn't too heavy and it was moving. It was still a little scary driving next to a semi through the construction zone. There's only a little more than a foot between the concrete wall on one side and the semi on the other.
We gained an hour during the trip and got in a little after 1 New Mexico time. We set up and made the short trip to fuel up.
When we got back it was surfing until the dog costume show at 3. We dressed Abby in her skeleton Halloween costume and took her to the clubhouse. There were only two other dogs, but she had fun playing with them. When the show was over we took Abby to the long dog park. She had real fun chasing the birds back and forth. The park has a really nice dog wash, so Abby got a bath on the way back to the trailer. That turned her into a white dog rather than a gray one.
The rest of the day was videos and surfing. Ellen fixed pork chops, scalloped potatoes, and garlic bread for dinner. It was really good.
