Today was a long day. I got up a little after 8 for pet stuff and breakfast. After breakfast it was house cleaning time.
Before I started cleaning I went out and put a charger on the Ranger battery. Apparently the disconnect doesn't disconnect. I also put away the work tables in the garage so that there would be room for the car.
Back in the house I cleaned off both the corner table and the kitchen table. Then I gave them both a good scrubbing. They were filthy. After that it was vacuum the whole house time. It took over 2 hours. I also scrubbed down the pantry shelves.
The next step was packing up the shotguns. I didn't want to take them out to the trailer yet, so I stacked them by the door. I took out a bunch of miscellaneous stuff that had been collecting instead.
I was planning on going to lunch. However when I checked the Ranger battery it was clear it was beyond recovery. Ellen spent some time locating a replacement. Then I spent more time removing the old battery. It wasn't easy because the connections were corroded on.
When the battery was out we drove to Kyle to get another one. On the way back I stopped at a place that had good access to get the trailer safety checked. I'll probably stop there on the way to San Antonio tomorrow.
The trip took a little over an hour. When we got back I installed the new battery whole Ellen started washing the car. Installation took a while because one of the clamps wouldn't fit. Eventually I got it on and took the Ranger around the development to get good gas in the fuel system. Then I parked it.
I helped Ellen a little with finishing up washing the car. Then I put the cover on the Ranger while she did the wax. I finished up by washing the car windows. Finally I put the car in the garage and hooked up the battery maintainer.
I didn't have lunch and was very hungry. We took the truck to the post office and Chedder's. Unfortunately on the way home Ellen shit all over herself and the truck seat. She dealt with that while I loaded the shotguns and gun stuff into the car. My remote won't work even though I put a new battery in it.
Abby finally got out of the bin. She'd been there almost all day. I played with her and did a little surfing. Then it was bedtime.
The checkin time tomorrow is 2. That means we shouldn't leave here much before 11:30. That should give us plenty of time to do the last minute things.
Finally I put away my wash and made the bed. Ellen was still alternating between cleaning the truck and sitting on the can.
