We woke up at 8, did the pet stuff and had breakfast. Then it was hook up and get on the road. We had a little more than 300 miles to make.
The trip was totally uneventful - YEAH. We made 10.7 mpg with no tail wind - another wind.
The only "problem" was the central display going blank just as we dumped the garbage as we were leaving the park. Ellen spent about an hour looking for the solution on the web. Then info there painted a grim, expensive, picture.
I had in the back of my mind that the problem was just Ellen messing with the wrong knob, possibly at the wrong time. She'd given up when I decided to twist a knob opposite the radio knob. It had a check mark for a label and Ellen couldn't find out what it did (I'm pretty sure she didn't try hard). Pushing the knob did nothing, but turning it caused the display to turn on. I was happy.
We got to the park before 1. We parked and went into Fort Stockton. We found the cheapest fuel, but it was still expensive. We needed 32 gallons.
After that we went to Wally World for a couple of things. Then we decided to drive down the main drag. That resulted in stops at a burger place, Tractor Supply, and ACE. Then it was back home to feed the pets.
I took the dog for a walk and then watched TV. Ellen spent a large part of the rest of the evening on the can.
Tomorrow is another 300 miles to Las Cruses. There's an East wind tonight. Hopefully it will continue tomorrow.
