Bad news in the morning. The wife's father broke his hip today. With his age and physical condition the prognosis isn't good.
This meant hurry up and get some stuff done. We went to the mortgage broker and gave them a check for the appraisal. We also signed a whole bunch of papers concerning the loan. I called the surveyor and set up the survey. It's $750 that I don't think I should have to pay, but I will.
On the way back we made stops to get lunch, buy cat litter and buy dog food. When you live out in the sticks, you make use of every trip into town. Then we took the dog to the park to tire her out. Half an hour and 46 retrieves and we were headed home with mission accomplished. She's just going into heat, so the diaper went on when we got home. She hates it and is always trying to shred it.
Back home it was man the phones. The house money is several accounts with several institutions. Wife found that we could put it all in the credit union account and access that account relatively easily. We did part of the work for that today, the rest will have to be done tomorrow.
I set up the insurance. It's a lot more expensive than the insurance in Oregon. I'd say as much as twice as much. We'll have to wait until tomorrow to set up moving our goods.
Wife also did some bills and set up her trip to Michigan. It's not as expensive as it might have been.
