Day 120

Drove over to NW San Antonio to pick up the antenna pole today. It's a long drive, about 40 miles one way. The traffic was pretty heavy. Since there's only two main roads that get you to where I needed to go it wasn't possible to avoid the traffic.

The pole is a neat piece of work. It is a three section, telescoping, pole. It goes as high as 30 feet. It has connections for guy wires and lightning protection. It's in pretty good shape except for being a little rusty in spots. Because it telescopes, getting it home was no problem.

To avoid traffic I got out Google and plotted a way home using the back roads. I got a tour of some of the country to the north of San Antonio that I had not seen before. It's a lot like the country to the NW of Bulverde except maybe a little hillier. It's been pretty heavily built up with homes on 2 to 5 acre plots.

I'll say one thing for Texas. When they start building out an area they spend money on the roads. Not like Oregon where they build 100's of new homes an an area and don't upgrade the road network at all.

The dog got a chance to play in the park. She doesn't have the energy that she usually does. I think it's because she is in heat.
