We got fantastic mileage today. From Ely to Alamo we got 13mpg. From there to Las Vegas we got over 15 mpg. Of course it helped that after going up 800 feet we went down 4500 feet.
The trip was uneventful. We spent part of it looking at the scenery and part of it listening to an audio book. At one point we went through this incredible hole in a stretch of mountains. It was about a mile long and only 100 yds or so across. It was entirely natural.
When we got to Las Vegas we set up and then went to Wally World. It was like going to Mogadishu. They even had someone checking receipts at the door. Now I understand how Harry Reid gets elected. After that we went to the Boulder Station casino to gamble. We found lots of cow machines and one Alien machine. They took our money way too quickly. So we went to their $10 buffet instead.
After dinner we decided we'd have more fun at Fry's. So we went over there and looked around. We bought a receiver for the big trailer because I'm afraid that receivers with RGB outputs aren't going to be around for long. We saw a good price on a vacuum, but the fine print said it was for the display device only. Crap.
We left Fry's at 8. We're tired. There will be a little surfing and then to bed.
