Today was a travel day. The drive from Las Vegas to Kingman is just a standard desert drive. I was surprised to note that it actually is a pretty big grade.
I really hate the drive from Kingman to Phoenix. It's got three or four "go up 1500 feet to go down 1500 feet" stretches. To make it even more fun there's 30 miles of two lane and a podunk town with low speed limits to go through. The only good thing was that they have finished the cutoff to the west of Phoenix. That includes the interchange.
We got through Phoenix at about 2. Traffic was fairly heavy, but there weren't any slow downs. We got lucky.
The trip down to Tucson was just another desert drive. Traffic was surprisingly heavy, but not a hassle.
One nice thing today was the mileage. Las Vegas to Kingman was 11. Kingman to Phoenix was 12.6. Phoenix to Tucson was 13.1.
When we got to Tucson we sat up and then just surfed. We ate dinner at In n Out.
