Day 759

Got up about 8 today, did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  We were due at the Audi dealer at 10, so there wasn't any point in getting anything started.  We left about 9:15.

The tech guy we had an appointment with was a little late.  He made up for it by being very helpful.  He finished setting up the internet function for us.  He also showed us how to use the navigation system more effectively.  He wasn't able to get the Homelink to work.  He said it's a common problem and Audi is working on it.  We signed up for a software update if one becomes available.

After we were finished with the lesson we bought license plate frames and mudflaps for the car.  Actually we ordered them, they weren't in stock.  By then it was after 11.

We drove down to the JoAnn's at Slaughter.  I got some hooks and elastic to use to attach the dog cover to the car.  Ellen got some fabric to make Mom a couple of shirts.  By then it was noon, so we had lunch at the Chinese buffet.  They have the best Chinese buffet food we've ever had.

The next stop was Home Depot to get black screws to attach the dog cover hooks.  While we were there the vet left a message for Ellen.  She said Taiko's kidneys were worse.  We decided to go back on Slaughter and get some fluids.  When we got there we found out that the vet wanted to talk to us, but couldn't for an hour.  We didn't wait.  We left stuff at the Goodwill across the street and bought Mom a skirt there.

On the way back to the post office the vet called.  Apparently Taiko's kidneys are pretty bad.  Fletchers's are going down hill.  That's not good news.  We need to decide if we allow the vet to do a hospital procedure on Taiko.  It looks like we may need new kitties in awhile.  Crap.

When we got home we measured out where the hooks needed to go on the dog cover.  Ellen started work on them.  It was after 5, but I wanted to get something accomplished today.  I filled the trimmer with gas and oil and started it up.  It started up right away.  It was too late to do anything with it, so I put the chainsaw together.  Then I used it to cut down the two dead tree trunks by the apartment.  Those things had bugged me since I first cut them partially down when I was removing the trees the drought killed.  I couldn't cut them then, because they were too thick.  By now their centers were all rotted out, so the saw just had to cut the outside.  I chopped them both up and stacked the wood in the big wood stack.

After that I went back inside and put all of the decorations back on the refrigerator.  It took quite awhile to reconstruct the map of Texas.  Then it was dinner, reading, and surfing.
