I woke up about 8, played games for a little while and then got up. The first thing was pet stuff and breakfast.
After breakfast I went outside to work on the playhouse. My goal for the day was to build the ramp. I started by getting two concrete blocks to use as the foundation for the end of the ramp. I spent some time getting them both level.
Then I used scrap wood to make a template for the ramp supports. I ended up making two. The first taught me what was necessary and the second was the refined version. Sounds like A and B phase. This took over an hour. It wouldn't have taken near as long if I'd known what I was doing.
After I cut the supports I used the hangers I'd purchased to attach them to the playhouse. I started to drill hols for screws. Then I noticed that there were already points for screws, they just didn't look like holes. They made the job a lot easier.
After lunch I finished the ramp by screwing on 6 boards on top of the supports. When I was done one of the supports was too high. So much for my leveling work. I found a higher concrete block and that fixed the problem. The result was a level ramp end.
The end of the ramp was significantly above ground level. I'd planned it that way. I used more scrap wood to build an enclosure at the bottom of the ramp. I was going to fill it with gravel, but the mosquitoes were beginning to eat me alive. It was only 3 o'clock. Usually they come out a little later.
I put everything away and went back to the house to surf until dinner. The shipping company called. They plan on picking up the Ranger in two or three days. I called Dave. Hopefully he will be there to handle it.
Ellen fixed some sort of chicken in a sauce for dinner. It was OK, but a little cold and maybe under cooked.
After dinner I got out the Lego. I was really having fun. I finished step 1, sorted the parts for step 2, and started step 2. I purposely called a halt at 9.
The rest of the evening was surfing.
