Day 56

I decided to tackle the hardest remaining part of the antenna install. With Ellen's help I managed to pull the wire for the outside antenna inside the attic. The low pitch of the roof made this as unpleasant as pulling the bedroom wires was. I ended up with another scratch on my head and a cough from breathing fiberglass.

After lunch we went over to the credit union to sign some more loan papers. Apparently we're going to get the loan. We also made another pilgrimage to Home Depot. I got the hardware that I need to put up the posts to support the antenna wire.

We got home a little late so I decided to clean up a few details that wouldn't take a lot of time. I finished changing out the cables in the wall in the living room. I still can't believe the TV only has one A/V input. Then I put connectors on the antenna wires. I wasted three connectors by crimping them wrong. The problem is that I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. It's good that I bought some extra, I'm going to need them.

I also mounted the amplifier in the attic and connected everything up. The only thing I should have left to do in the attic is plug the amplifier power supply into the wall.

Tomorrow I'll start by putting up the antenna pole. If everything goes smoothly I should be able to get all of the wire support up by the end of the day. That will leave mounting the antenna, putting up the guy wires, and stringing the wire.
