Day 1178

We got up at 7:45 today.  After getting up and getting dressed I went out to open the gate for the counter people.  They were supposed to show up at 8:30.  They got here at 8:20.

Just before they got here Ellen decided that she wanted the bull nose tile on the master bath counter.  So I was removing that while the counter guy was measuring the other bath.  He has the cool laser thing that made the measurements and transferred them directly to the cutting machines.  John and Melissa came over to watch.

I managed to get the tile removed and the bathroom cleaned up before the counter guy was ready.  This was mainly because John and he were engaged in a lively conversation.  The counter guy left about 10.  Reggie and Devon had a great time playing while this was happening.

John and Melissa went back to the apartment.  Ellen and I attacked the tile in the guest bath.  Fortunately the tile was installed correctly, rather than glued in place.  It took me over an hour to remove it with a hammer and chisel.  When I was done there were still patches of thinset and tile shards.  Ellen went to work with the multi-tool and hand sander.  When she was done the counter top is ready for the new counter top install.  The only thing left to do is replace the sheet rock I destroyed.  John said that would be easy.

Ellen finished up a little after noon.  John and Melissa came over and we decided to have lunch at the Cajun place.  We went there and had a great lunch.  Then we went to the post office followed by Harbor Freight so John could get some tools to do a brake job on Isaac's van.  We stopped at Central Market to buy salmon to smoke.  We ended up buying shrimp and lamb also.  We also stopped at Home Depot to buy supplies for repairing the sheet rock. 

When we got home John went out and removed one of the rotors on the van. I watched and fetched him tools when he needed something  Then I took the dog to the mailbox while John went to an auto store to get the rotor turned.

While John was gone Melissa signed our TV into Hulu so we could watch a hilarious science fiction show about a society ruled by social media.  John got home just as it ended. 

Ellen fixed shrimp for dinner.  We ate dinner and talked until 9.

Denney sent a text to Ellen asking her to call.  The Heitlaufs are asking about the sewer at the club.  Apparently they've gone as far as finding out that there's no permit filed with the county.  Obviously they are trying to drive us out.  She talked to Denney and told him we knew nothing.  Then she called Dan and asked him to give him as little information as possible.  I'm afraid this might get ugly.
