Day 1179

We woke up at 8:15, but didn't get out of bed until 8:40.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast. We started removing the tile in the master bath a little after 9.

I tried to get the backsplash off without damaging the drywall, but I coiuldn't figure out how.  Once the first foot or so was damaged I just started pulling the tiles off.  The drywall would have to be replaced anyway.  I remember the guy who did the shower saying that it would have to be replaced.  He was right.

I did all of the backsplash.  I managed to save most of the sheet rock on the short left side.  John and Melissa may replace it anyway.  Once I got about half of the backsplash under the mirror done Ellen started removing the counter tile.  We are leaving the tile pieces around the sinks so we can still use the sinks.

I took over removing the counter tile when I was finished with the backsplash.  Ellen started cleaning off the counter  at the same time.  Of course I got finished first, so I put the tools away and waited for her to finish.  I'd bought a new multi-tool blade yesterday to help her, and it speeded up the process.

While we were doing the tile John and Melissa were working on the van.  John got the first brake put back together and took apart the second.  Then they went back to the auto parts store to get the second disc turned.

We had lunch while they were gone - sandwiches.  A little after lunch the Amish called.  They are delivering our bookcase tomorrow.  That meant we needed to move out the old one.  We took everything off the shelves and put them on the guest bed.  Then I texted Lee and Isaac asking if they wanted it.  Lee said no.  Isaac didn't reply.  So John and I will take it to Goodwill sometime tomorrow.

By then Melissa and John had been home for awhile and John had the van put back together.  The left to test drive the van.  Ellen an I went to the post office.  I felt sorry for Lucy because she'd been ignored all day.  So we stopped at Tomlinson's and bought her some treats.

John and Melissa got home later.  We talked for awhile and then had dinner - lamb cooked on the Traeger.  I had to leave right after to go to the board meeting.  The meeting itself was boring.

When I got home everyone was watching the funny science fiction show we were watching yesterday.  John and Melissa left when it was done.

We spent the rest of the evening surfing.

A note: I spent a lot of last evening and the first part of the day stressing over yesterday's call to Denney.  It seemed that they want to force us out using the sewer.  Today Ellen got a text saying that Dan had all of the documentation showing that it had been inspected and approved.  Fuck them.
