Day 909

We got up a 7 today, it was good we did.  We did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  Then it was load the trailer time.  I took out all of my final stuff and put it away.  Ellen did the same.  This took awhile.  Then Ellen went into the house to finish the wash and do some cleaning.

I closed up the trailer and then started to hook up.  That took longer then usual, I'm out of practice.  Once it was hooked up I moved it forward.  I used the cart of gravel I had there to fill in the holes where the tires were.  It wasn't enough.  I had to get another load.

Isaac was out there, so I took him around showing him what he'd have to do if he were to leave before we got back.  I put little notes on everything.

There was a bunch of thrashing after that as we put the last minute things we'd forgotten in the trailer.  I think I closed it and then reopened it 3 or 4 times.  Finally we were ready to go about 11, half an hour after I wanted to leave.

There was a crash on I35 in Austin, so we went up Loop 1.  I took the toll roads over to I35 above Parmer.  It will be interesting to see how much it cost.  The trip itself was uneventful except for 15 miles of construction through Temple.  It will be nice when it's done, but that is years away.

We ate lunch on the road and got to the campground about 1.  Setting up didn't take a lot of effort.  When we were done we drove a few miles back towards town and stopped at the Mammoth monument.

The monument is neat.  They excavated 20 mammoths.  They took some out.  They partially excavated the rest and built a building over them.  Apparently there are more there, but they are waiting for government permission to dig them up.

On the way home we stopped at "the best burger place in Waco" according to the internet.  It was REALLY good.  When we got home we got out computers.  I got out my small one and spent awhile setting it up and getting it updated.  Then we took a walk around the park.

We walked to the far end of the park.  There are showers there and there's none in our campground.  It's a 1.4 mile round trip, so we'll probably drive down for showers.

The rest of the evening was surfing and reading.  There's no cable her and we didn't try the on air channels.
