We woke up about 8 and stayed in bed for a little while. Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast. After that it was surfing as we killed time until it was time to go to the club. We shot at 10:30.
It was pretty windy today. The K-cup is in the trees, but there were still stations where the wind mad quite a difference in how the targets flew from pair to pair. The targets were also a little more difficult than in some years past. Ellen wasn't happy with how she shot, but she didn't do too bad. I didn't shoot very well, but I'm not likely to ever again.
When we were finished we decided we wouldn't eat at the club. Instead we went to Rudy's. We bought brisket and sides. Then we took them home and made sandwiches.
The rest of the afternoon was surfing. We both took showers and got dressed for the awards banquet. I think it's the first time this year I've worn a shirt with a collar. The food at the banquet was great. The speeches afterwards were kind of boring. It didn't help that I couldn't understand some of the talkers.
Skip got the largest ovation of the evening. I think he had the best speech, too. To top it off he ended it with "Let's Go Brandon". After his award they started giving out "high target awards". Everyone who shot 10,000 or more targets got a plaque. The called each name and the person walked up for there plaque. There were 53 of them. It was 9:15, so we left after the first three.
We drove home and did a little surfing before going to bed.
