Day 102

On the road again. It was 389 miles from Ben Avery to Deming. There was a little traffic through Phoenix, but other than that it was a smooth trip. I even lucked out at the two fuel stops. At one access was super easy and there was a place waiting when we pulled in. At the other the place was crowded, but the space we needed opened up just as we got there.

There was a tail wind crossing New Mexico, so we got almost 14 mpg for the last 60 miles.

When we got to Deming we did the wash. Clean underwear for the first time in three days. I also unhooked in order to top off the fuel tank. We actually found a couple of relatively low priced stations. Most of the stations in Deming are outrageous. One wanted $3.79/gal for diesel. We bought it there for $3.27 and could have got it for $3.25.

Tomorrow is 342 miles to Fort Stockton. We'll loose an hour when we get to Texas.
