I woke up at 8 today, turned over and went back to sleep. Being able to do that when I feel like it is one of the best things abpout being retired. I got up a little after nine for pet stuff and breakfast. The temp was 70, and it was really windy.
I went out to the garage and put some cleaning stuff in the two boxes I bought the other day. Then I took the big plate out to the backstop and mounted it. Two things made that hard. First, I did a whole lot of work that I didn't need to do because I hadn't remembered that I had a set of large s-hooks. Second, that plate is damn heavy. I couldn't paint another target because it was way too windy.
When I got finished with that it was time for lunch. After lunch we went to the post office. It was closed - gopher cum day. I took 290 over to 35 to go down to the vet. The entrance ramp was backed up onto 290. So I got off at the next exit. No turnaround lane and a long wait at the light. I got off at Congress and managed to wait for every light on it down to Slaughter.
After the vet we drove to HEB. Most of the lights were green, amazingly. We get to HEB and the parking lot is packed. I had to drive all around to find a place. By this time I was pissed. We did our shopping. When we came out there were parking spaces all over.
The last stop was Circle C. Lucy did 22 long retrieves (it was windy).
When we got home I went out and did my exercises. Ellen fixed fish burgers again for dinner. After dinner I watched MMA all night - it was being held in Austin and each match had someone from Texas in it. Ellen watched TV on her laptop.
