Day 852

We woke up at 8, but didn't get up - it was 32 degrees.  We did get up a little out after 9 for pet stuff, breakfast, and some surfing.  I called te garage door place, but they didn't return the call.

I went out to the garage to do battle with the AR500 plate again.  I started with one of the small bits tat I'd sharpened.  To my joy it removed some more material before getting dull.  I resharpened that drill and te other one a couple of times.  They weren't as successful, but I did make some additional progress.  Finally, neither was doing any good.

I noticed that I was close enough to breaking through that there was a dimple on the bottom of the plate.  So I got out the Dremel.  I used two cheap Chinese diamond burrs to punch through the last metal.  I finally had a complete pilot hole.

I changed to the new masonry drill that I'd purchased a long time ago.  It went to town on the plate, cutting through at a pretty quick rate.  I changed to an older one when the new drill got hot.  It didn't work as well, but it did work.  I finally completed the second hole.

I got together all of the chains and bolts.  That's when I realized that I didn't have enough hardware.

It was about 12:30, so we left for the post office.  We stopped at the roach coach at the Y for lunch.  It turned out to be pretty good.  It was cold eating though, 45 degrees and windy.

After that it was the post office and Home Depot.  Then we stopped at HEB for milk and Circle C to run the dog.  I only let her do 25 retrieves because she'd woken us up last night barfing.

When we got home I surfed for awhile and then did my exercises.  I couldn't do anything more with the targets because it was too cold to paint them.  Then it was more surfing until dinner.  Ellen fixed pork chops, potatoes, and beans.  It was good.

After dinner was surfing, reading, and TV.  The Tarheels won.  All in all it was a good day.
