Day 840

We got up about 8, did the pet stuff and had breakfast.  I headed out to move gravel.  My goal was to move all of what was left and put it under the truck shelter.  It ended up being 21 1/2 loads.  That was enough to cover the entire area under the shelter and about 2 feet outside of it.  I was tired when that was over and went inside for surfing and lunch.

Aftee lunch I went out to see what I could do with the apa

After lunch we went to the post office and Lowe's.  I wanted to get some stuff to make the bed in the apartment stiffer and remove the squeak.  Just driving was a pain.  I've moved 6+ tons of gravel in the last 4 days.  I'm too old for this shit.  Lucy was happy when we got through with Lowe's.  I threw the bumper for her in the grass beside the parking lot.  She did a lot of retrieves.

The trip was my first chance to see how they've fucked up Loop 1.  They've reduced the lanes at Slaughter from 4 (two turn lanes and two through lanes) to two.  It was 2:30 in the afternoon and traffic was backed up half way to Davis.  At LaCrosse it goes down to 1 lane.  This shit is going to continue for over 2 years.  I've got to find some new ways of going.

When we got home it was more surfing and dinner.  I went out to start work on the apartment bed.  That's when I found out I needed more stuff.  At 6:30 we left to go get the new bed for the guest room.  The place was about a mile west on Parmer from Loop 1.  They were nice people and we bought it.  Then we stopped at Home Depot.  I got a couple of more things for the apartment bed.  I had a whole lot of trouble getting to the store - several wrong turns and a lot of back tracking.

We noticed that Loop 1 was mostly a parking lot from south of the bridge all the way up to Anderson.  So we decided to go back on 360.  Unfortunately there was an accident blocking the exit to Spicewood Springs.  That meant we had to take back roads to get around it.  Our luck changed when we got to 360.  The light was green when we turned on to it.  Every light except 1 was green for the rest of the way home.  We took 290 because I'm sure loop 1 was still a mess.

I left the bed in the car when we got home.  I was tired, so the rest of the evening was TV and surfing.
