Day 2644

 I woke up at 7:45 and played games until 8:45.  Then it was up for pet stuff and breakfast.  After breakfast I went out to work.

The first task was to tighten up the wooden gate post.  It had been loosened when a tree fell on it during the ice storm.  I pounded an 18 inch metal stake into the ground.  The I attached it via metal wire to a turnbuckle.  I ran another wire from the post to the turnbuckle.  Unfortunately the turnbuckle was too short.  I texted Ellen to buy a longer one (she was at therapy).

I went onto the next task - chicken wire.  I attached wire to part of the deck railing (there's still a little to go).  I was about to start on the panel by the new gate when Ellen got home.  She hadn't read here text.  I was pissed.

Opening the new gate latch from the outside was inconvenient.  So I tool a little time to attach a wire and a ring to the latch.  Now you can just pull the ring to open the latch.  Then I went to ACE for a turnbuckle.

As I was crossing the street in front of the store two guys ran out.  One was carrying some DeWalt tools.  They dived into their car and drove away fast.  When I went inside I told the clerk and gave them the license number.

When I got back I used the new turnbuckle to reinforce the gate post.  It worked, but not perfectly.  Then I went inside to wait for Ellen to get over the shits.  I needed her to help put up the rest of the chicken wire.  We put it up when she was done.

I gave the remnant of the chicken wire roll to Ellen and told her to use it to patch the fence by the large gate.  Then I took a shower.  That was the end of work for me today.  It was in the mid 80's and I was hot, sweaty, and tired.

I took a shower and the watched videos until dinner.  Ellen went to the club.  Dinner was a frozen thing.  After dinner was more videos.

I'm hoping to put up the top bar and maybe the fencing tomorrow.  I didn't want to do it today because I wanted to let the concrete dry more.
