I woke up at 7:30 and played games for about an hour. After that it was up for pet stuff and breakfast. After breakfast is was out to haul rock. Ellen came out shortly after to help.
I did all of the digging for rocks in the area behind the yard. It mostly involved prospecting for suitable rocks with the pick. A lot of them were medium size rocks. About 10 or so were big - 30 to 50 lbs or more. It took the two of us to load the bigger ones on the cart.
We took all of the big ones over to the fence with the large gate. We managed to fill up over two panels with them. It looks impressive. The smaller rocks were used to fill in the back fence. We filled in all but two panels of it. That leaves us with a little over two panels to go.
We'd probably be completely done except for the extra time it takes to find rocks. Digging out the big rocks takes a lot of time and effort. I'm going to try looking behind the pink building tomorrow. There's probably not more than two or three loads there, but it should be easy to fill up the cart. Ellen won't be helping because of her therapy.
We worked until noon, probably a little less than 3 hours. Of course we were hot, sweaty, and very tired when we quit. When I say "very tired" I mean I didn't have the energy to do even one more load. We went inside and surfed for a while to recover. Then it was lunch followed by showers.
We got a call from the breeder. Minnie has Parvo. She's on IV and antibiotics. Fortunately they seem to be working. The breeder wanted us to take her ASAP. We called the vet. She said no sooner than 8 weeks (Minnie is 6 weeks, 3 days old). Apparently Minnie will be still recovering until then. Besides, we still haven't finished the yard or set up the house. We called the breeder back and said we'd pick her up in two weeks.
We spent the rest of the day on surfing, videos, and a nap (for me). Ellen fixed thin steaks for dinner. They were really good.
