Day 382

We got up at 7:30 and did the morning thing.  Then it was pet stuff, breakfast, and load up the car.  We were on the road before 9.  I had looked it up on Google and it was actually shorter to go to New Braunfels via Dripping Springs than Kyle.  We were going to vote, but the line was as long as yesterday, so we just kept on going.

The drive to I35 was uneventful.  We didn't get stuck behind very much slow traffic on RR12.  It was also clear sailing on I35 and 1604.  I was amazed.  We stopped at the hotel before going to the club.  It was too early to check in, but I wanted to drive the "back way" to the club.  It was good we did. Culebra is under construction and a cluster fuck.

We checked in at registration and Ellen had a good time talking with her friends.  We each bought a couple of t-shirts.  Then we hit vendor's row.  I bought a whole bunch of t-shirts at $5 apiece.  I also bought another Boyt gun case for traveling.  I took my Perazzi to their booth.  They said it was a gray market gun.  They said it needed new ejectors and tightening of the forearm and trigger.  I said do everything it needs.

We sent some time talking to Lonesome Charlie.  His kids have taken over the business, he just supervises.  I also saw a cool Parcours at Herkowitz's place.  We got a demo of a really cool gun camera.  I got a chance to talk to Jason about the Western.  Of course it was kind of screwed up.  He said Melinda had asked him to put it on next year.  Of course he said no.

We ate lunch at the club and then did more shopping.  I was basically waiting around until Perazzi was finished with my gun.  They called me about 4:30.  The bill was $650.  It was a little more than I expected.  I took the gun to a vendor that was cleaning guns for free.  They had tightened the forearm so much that a could barely get it off.

The  last thing we did was shoot a couple of practice 5-stands.  I wanted to try out the repaired gun.  The ejectors worked a lot better.  The trigger was a little different, but not enough to really matter.

After that we left and checked into the hotel.  It was a pretty nice place.  I went out and picked up some sandwiches for dinner.
