I woke up about 8 and played games until 9. Then it was pet stuff and breakfast. After breakfast I spent some time making up more itineraries for our trip to Oregon. These go through the middle of the country. The next step is for Ellen to investigate potential RV parks along the way.
When that was done I wanted to test the Lego shovel. I had Ellen control it because I wanted to be able to pick it up if it went rogue. I also wanted to see what went wrong if something failed. Nothing failed. It worked perfectly. It works really well. The app even allows you to program a series of actions. It's going to be fun to play with when it's done.
After the testing I could start part 4 of the build. It's all cosmetic and begins to close up the top of the cabin. I wanted to make sure that everything worked before I did that. I completed most of part 4 before I got tired and called quits.
After that it was some surfing followed by leftovers for lunch. After lunch I surfed a little and then went outside. It was hot - 94 degrees and humid. I wanted to do a couple of things on the truck. I also wanted to put the gas I'd bought at the beginning of the panic in the Audi.
Gassing up the Audi was a disaster. The 5 gal can I had had a stupid government spout. It was impossible for me to hold up the can with one hand while I pushed the spring loaded button on the spout to make it work. I ended up pouring gas from that can into my smaller can. At least I could lift it. That's when I found out that the Audi has a flap in the filler tube. The gas filler nozzle pushes it open. The gas can nozzle wasn't long enough. I had to use the funnel I'd bought for the truck. I also had to have Ellen come out to hold it in.
After that I couldn't put DEF in the truck (no funnel). So I decided to mount the trailer tire monitor. I had a hard time finding a position on the dash for it that was far enough away so I could read it, and not blocking the dash controls. I finally found what I think is a great place.
Did I mention it was hot? By the time I was finished my shirt was thoroughly drenched. I went back inside and took a shower.
After the shower I decided I wanted to go out and get a new funnel. That way I can fill up the DEF in the morning. We went to NAPA at the Y. They had a great funnel. It's a big improvement over the one I had. We also stopped at the post office. I really wanted purchased food tonight for some reason. So we stopped at Fireman's.
When we got home I got out the Lego. I wanted to finish part 4. That didn't take long. Sorting the pieces for part 5 took quite a while. There were a lott of different kinds of small parts.
After that it was TV and surfing.
