We're up before 7 every day now - too early. After pe stuff and breakfast it was more surfing and reading. The internet is still really slow, so surfing is done mainly on the phone. It's slow, too.
By 11 I was really bored. Today was a big let down after yesterday. Patty suggest that we take Vicki to Newport, so we did. Traffic northbound was a mess. Lincoln City down to the last art gallery was a parking lot. It was heavy the rest of the way to Newport. Traffic was pretty crowded southbound, but at least it was moving.
When we got to Newport we stopped at the kite shop. They didn't have what we were looking for. Then we took the back way to the waterfront. We searched for a parking spot for quite awhile and eventually parked on the street up the hill. After that it was several hours of art gallerys and tourist shops. We bought a couple of things for Patty and even found a sort of gag gift for John.
We listened to the sea lions for awhile and then ate at the restaurant overlooking their dock. They allowed the dog and even brought her water. As we were eating the cook came out, petted her, and asked if she would like some bacon. I said yes and she brought out 4 big slices of freshly cooked bacon. I ordered chowder and a coconut shrimp appetizer. I got this great seafood soup with lobster, shrimp, scallops, fish, and mussels. It was expensive ($26), but really, really, good.
After lunch it was more galleries and gift shops. We left about 4:30. By then the road north didn't have any traffic.
When we got home Patty fixed us dinner and then we surfed and read for the rest of the evening.
