Day 735

Up at 7:30 for pet stuff and breakfast.  Did the rest of the wash (bedding and underwear).  Then it was hook up the trailer and leave.

I really hate I17.  The road is a bitch when hauling a trailer.  Between Camp Verde and Phoenix there's a couple of up 500 to 1,000 feet followed by down the other side episodes.  It climaxes with a long 1,500 foot down grade.

Fortunately the drive was only 60 miles long.  We got to Ben Avery before noon and checked in.  We parked at our assigned spot and then found out that there was no power.  I made sure it wasn't us, and then we contacted the club.  A guy came out to debug it.  After messing with it for awhile he found out that the master circuit breaker was off.  He turned it on and everything was fine.

The fun had just started.  By this time it was 98 degrees in the shade and we were in a treeless parking lot.  The hitch wouldn't unhitch.  After fucking with it for 20 minutes in the sun I used the hammer.  That worked.  It's the first time I've needed to do that.

When I went to unfold the BakFlip it broke in two places.  I had to search out the right sized screws and fix it.  That involved drilling holes and putting in screws.  Everything I touched was hot enough to burn.

I finally got the fix done and went inside for lunch.  The AC was going full blast.  After awhile the main circuit breaker blew.  The combination of the AC, water heater, and refrigerator was too much of a load.  I turned off the water heater - it still blew.  I had to read up on switching the refrigerator to gas in order to get it  to quit blowing.

We hid out from the heat in the trailer until about 5.  Then we got out the guns and went to shoot.  We got off about 5 rounds before someone showed up to tell us that they closed at 3 and we couldn't shoot.  Great.  Apparently if we want to shoot when it's cool we have to get up early and staert shooting at 7 AM.  Fuck.

After dinner I walked over and watched some kid's league shoot trap and skeet.  Apparently the place is open for them.

The evening was TV and surfing.  This place sucks, I don't think I'll be back.  It's supposed to be 97 tomorrow.
