We got up at 7 today and were on the road by 7:45. We had a long way to go today - more then 400 miles.
The first 140 miles or so brought us to the Texas border. It went pretty quickly as the book on tape we are listening to was pretty entertaining. We fueled up at exit 0 with the first reasonably priced fuel I'd seen in months.
Then it was time to go through El Paso. The next thirty miles were bad road and traffic. Fortunately the traffic was only heavy, not really slow. The west bound lanes weren't as lucky. There was a three car collision that had traffic at a standstill for miles.
The rest of the trip was just driving across west Texas. We got to the park about three, even with losing an hour.
The park is pretty nice. It has a restaurant, so we ate dinner there - real Texas food.
The evening was Monday night football.
