Day 814

We got up at 8 today.  We did pet stuff and breakfast and surfed until a little after 9.  Then we went to the apartment.  John and Melissa weren't quite ready, but we left for Fredericksburg by 9:30.

We made good time and good gas mileage to Fredericksburg.  The Audi gets at least as good of mileage as the Texas Mazda did.  Our first stop was the ACE.  I needed to get a screw to replace the hinge screw I broke yesterday.  It turned out to be a weird size.  They had one, but there was no way Lowe's or Home Depot would have them.  We also ended up buying paint, plumbing stuff, caulk, and a door jamb also.

When we were done there we went into town.  It was almost noon when we parked and started walking through the town.  We stopped at a few stores and we made some purchases - a cowhide, some summer shoes, and some barn hardware.  Everyone got hungry by one, so we went to a German restaurant for lunch.  After lunch it was more shopping and a stop at the ice cream shop.

On the way back we stopped at the Texas Ranger's memorial and the adjacent fort.  John found it really cool and we walked around there for over an hour.  We stopped at HEB on the way home for bread, milk, and lottery tickets.

When we got home no one was hungry, so we skipped dinner in favor of some snacks.  Then we watched a Grand Tour episode.  Everyone was tired, so we went to bed early.
