We got up at 8, did the pet stuff, had breakfast and surfed until 9. Then we went to the apartment to work. John and Melissa worked on the molding. Ellen painted. I started out doing the threshold in the water heater closet. Then I put away a whole lot of tools and took all of the refuse to the garbage.
By then the washer/dryer alcove was finished. Melissa and I turned the dryer receptacle the right side up so that the dryer cord would match. Then John and I moved the washer into position. John insisted on connecting it up. Then we moved the dryer. Both John and Melissa insisted on connecting it up. They are perfectionists.
While they were doing that I installed the shelf above the toilet. That took awhile to get it perfect (Melissa's only acceptable criteria). Then I ripped the board for the side shelves. It was a little wide the first time, so I had to do it again. Then I attached two support boards for the shelves.
John and Melissa were finishing up the molding while I was doing that and Ellen had graduated to caulking.
We called a halt about 2:30. Everything major is done. The side shelves need to be attached (I need brackets). Then the doors need to be put back up. I hope that doesn't involve cutting them. Then a little cleanup and they're done.
We went to lunch/dinner at the Cajun place. It was good. Then we took the two boxes of flooring we had left back to Home Depot. We got lucky on that. We only had 1 and a half boards left over. At $60 a box it was nice we didn't have to open a partial one.
The last stop was HEB. We'll be back there tomorrow. Ellen can't seem to grasp the concept of buying food for several day's meals.
When we got home we watched a little football. When it was over we switched to episodes of the Grand Tour.
After John and Melissa left we injected water into the cats. When Fletcher was done Ellen decided to see what would happen if she dropped him on Lucy right outside the bathroom door. That resulted in then knocking over the stand by the vent. That broke a vase and the Galileo thermometer. It took half an hour to clean up the broken glass and spilled alcohol.
