Day 836

I woke up about 8, played some games, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  When that was finished I went out to the garage.  It was time for a new (actually continued) project.  It was raining so outside work, or shooting, wasn't in the cards.

I set up the drill press and started to frill the second hole in the target plate.  My $20 drill lasted a little over halfway through the plate before it gave out.  I tried to expand the hole with several larger drills.  I managed to finish about 1/32 of an inch.  I kept switching drills and really working them hard.  I even tried resharpening a couple.  Nothing worked well.  I finally gave up and went to lunch.

After lunch we went to Home Depot and Lowe's to return stuff we didn't use in the remodel.  We also stopped at a donut store I had a coupon for.  It wasn't very good.  The last stop was the post office.

When we went out to the car at noon it was covered with these white spots.  I think they were sodden ash.  So when we got home we washed the car.  It was filthy.  It looked like we'd driven a long way on a oily, dusty, road.  It came off easily though.

I went back out to the garage and worked some more on the drilling.  I didn't make any meaningful progress.  I think I'm in fo another $20 drill.

The rest of the day was surfing, reading, and watching TV.
