We got up at 7 so we could be ready to go by 8. Somehow Ellen couldn't be ready until about 8:15.
The drive down to San Antonio was stress free. I drove 5 to 10 miles over the speed limit the whole way and got 32+ mpg.
When we got there we explored the Alamo for about 2 hours. Then we walked the River Walk and ate lunch at a restaurant there. I ordered chips and fed the ducks. We walked back at street level and found the buckhorn museum. We took them there and John had a real good time.
We were done with the museum about 3. Melissa wanted to see the missions, so we drove to two. The first was partially restored. The second was fully restored, and showed how extensive the missions really were.
We drove home with almost no traffic problems. We were going about 80 much of the way, with 33.7 mpg. We made good enough time that we managed to stop at the vet for cat water. That was good, since we are going to run out tonight and tomorrow is supposed to be an ice storm.
Melissa fixed pork chops for dinner. Afterwards it was conversation and TV.
