I woke up at 7:50, but it was raining. So I played Mahjong until 9:45. By that time the animals were really hungry, so we got up and fed them and had breakfast. After that I did a little surfing and then went out to grind down the
spindle on the weather vane so I could put on a second bearing.
The spindle didn't need to be ground down much, but it still took about half an hour. Halfway through Ellen said there was a thunderstorm with hail coming. I moved everything so that I could put the car inside and had her drive it to the garage door. Then I finished the grinding and measured the length of the bolts I need to buy. By then there was a strong storm going. So I put the car in the garage. Then I did my exercises and went back to the house.
It was only 11:30, so I did some music editing and surfing. That lasted until about 1. Then we went over to the Belterra ACE to get bolts. They didn't have them. So then we went to Home Depot in Dripping Springs. They didn't have them either. We stopped at the Sonic next door for lunch before going to McCoy's. They didn't have them (notice a pattern?).
I turns out there is only one Tru-Value, and no Aces, in Austin. The Tru-Value is at 183 just north of 71. We went there. They didn't have what I needed, but on of the clerks offered to make some. Unfortunately he broke his die. The only option was to go to Wimberley.
We stopped at both the Ace and Do-it in Wimberley. Neither had what I needed. So I bought some threaded rod and some extra nuts. I'll have to turn them into "bolts" tomorrow. We stopped at a nice outdoor bar with food trucks on the way back. It had a great view. Unfortunately it was 65 degrees and there was a 20 mph wind. It was too cold to stay.
We stopped at the HEB in Dripping Springs on the way home to get a cake for dessert. Then we went to the new bar food restuarant in Belterra. We got some house made potato chips, which were good. We also got potato skins. That turned out to be 2 2inch potatoes cut in half with some bacon bits under a layer of cheese with a few onions on top. They charged $9 for that. We won't be going back.
By the time we got home at 6:30 we had driven over 90 miles after we left Dripping Springs the first time.
We watched TV for awhile and then had some cake. The rest of the evening was a little TV and then a movie.
