Day 1874

 It was cold again this morning.  I woke up at 8 and played games for about an hour.  Then it was pet stuff and breakfast.  A bike was to be delivered today, so all I could do was sit at home.  That as OK, there was still snow on the ground and it was icy.

I spent all of the morning surfing, mainly on bike and truck websites.  I don't go to the news ones, they just piss me off.  FedEx kept sending me text notifications of the bike deliveries - one today and one tomorrow.

The FedEx guy showed up about 2.  He had both bikes, a good surprise.  I had him deliver them to the garage door.  He was in shape.  The boxes were big, bulky, and weighed 80 to 90 lbs apiece.  He moved them around like they weighed nothing.  It made me feel old.

I dragged one box to the living room and the other to the garage.  Then I started to work on the one in the living room.  It as way too cold to work in the garage.  I took the tablet so I could watch the assembly video and follow along.  I needed Ellen to lift the bike out of the box.  She decided to stick around for the whole assembly.

The build went OK except for a couple of relatively minor hiccups.   They just cost time.  The whole thing took about 2 hours.  The bike worked when we were done.  At least it turned on and the rear wheel turns when you apply the throttle.  It's way too cold to test ride it.  I put that bike in the kitchen and dragged the second bike inside.  I cut open the box and stopped there.   T hat was enough bicycle assembly for the day.

We went back inside and surfed until dinner time.  Ellen fixed chicken and french fries.  After dinner we spent  a couple of hours deciding on racks and rack bags.  Ellen liked my choices, so I ordered two of each.

That took most of the evening.   The rest was some more game playing and surfing.
