Day 1878

I woke up at 8, played games for a little while, and then got up for pet stuff and breakfast.  It was a little cold,so I surfed for a while waiting for it to warm up.  I've totally abandoned reading about current events.  It's too upsetting.  Instead I watch YouTube videos about anything that catches my eye.

Eventually it warmed up enough for me to work in the garage.  I took the new bicycle seats out there and installed them on the bikes.  The install went well and we both like the results.  Pretty soon we'll have to ride them.  When Ellen came out to fit her seat we spent some time with the bags and bike locks.  The locks just barely fit in the bag's side pocket.  The other side pocket easily holds the cable.  That leaves the center section for whatever.

I felt like doing more, so I got out the Gorilla lift for the trailer.  I laid out the hole positions and started drilling.  The 1/2 inch bit I was using lasted one hole.  I tried several others.  None of them would drill through the trailer rail even if I drilled 3/8 pilot holes.  I gave up and just drilled the pilot holes.  Then I put everything away.

Lunch was leftover pizza.  After that we went to Home Depot, the post office, and Tomlinson's.  I got a $20 drill bit for the trailer and a 3.5 inch bolt for the cargo rack.

When we got home I couldn't resist trying out the new bit.  It drilled the 7 remaining holes with no problem.  It's good to have the right tools.  It was too late to do anything else, so finishing the lift will have to wait until tomorrow.  It shouldn't be too hard, but there is 2 more holes to drill.

We had tacos for dinner.  After dinner I spent the whole evening reading bike forums and shopping.  It was fun, maybe more fun than riding the bikes.  We'll see.
